The nonlinear and multiphoton interaction between a single two-level atom and two modes of radiation is studied in a generalized Jaynes-Cummings model. An intensity-dependent level shift is considered. The time evolution operator is obtained. The detuning has a photon number dependence. Different statistical aspects pertaining to either the atom or the fields are calculated. The dipole moment, the dipole-dipole correlation function, as well as the transient spectrum are obtained.  相似文献

The paradigm of the two-level atom is revisited and its perturbative analysis is discussed in view of the principle of duality in perturbation theory. The models we consider are a two-level atom and an ensemble of two-level atoms both interacting with a single radiation mode. The aim is to see how the latter can be actually used as an amplifier of quantum fluctuations to the classical level through the thermodynamic limit of a very large ensemble of two-level atoms [M. Frasca, Phys. Lett. A 283 (2001) 271] and how can remove Schrödinger cat states. The thermodynamic limit can be very effective for producing both classical states and decoherence on a quantum system that evolves without dissipation. Decoherence without dissipation is indeed an effect of a single two-level atom interacting with an ensemble of two-level atoms, a situation that proves to be useful to understand recent experiments on nanoscale devices showing unexpected disappearance of quantum coherence at very low temperatures.  相似文献

Considering three two-level atoms initially in the GHZ state, then one atom of them is put into an initially empty cavity and made resonant interaction. It is shown that the emission properties of the atom inside the cavity can be affected only when both of the atoms outside the cavity have been manipulated. Two fully quantized generalized Jaynes-Cummings models for the interaction of a two-level atom with radiation field are treated, one involving intensity dependent coupling and the other involving multiphoton interaction between the field and the atom. The unitary transformation method presented here not only solves the time dependent problem but also allows a determination of the eigensolutions of the interacting Hamiltonian at the same time.  相似文献

The entanglement properties of the system of two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode vacuum field are explored. The quantum entanglement between two two-level atoms and a single-mode vacuum field is investigated by using the quantum reduced entropy; the quantum entanglement between two two-level atoms, and that between a single two-level atom and a single-mode vacuum field are studied in terms of the quantum relative entropy. The influences of the atomic dipole--dipole interaction on the quantum entanglement of the system are also discussed. Our results show that three entangled states of two atoms--field, atom--atom, and atom--field can be prepared via two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode vacuum field.  相似文献

The method previously used by the author for the measurement and calculation of the distribution function w N(T)of fluorescence photons from a single two-level atom that is continuously excited by laser light and has a unity fluorescence quantum yield is generalized to the case of a single molecule whose fluorescence quantum yield is smaller than unity and to the case of a three-level molecule whose fluorescence is blinking. The functions w N(T) calculated for these two cases demonstrate a sub-Poissonian distribution of fluorescence photons.  相似文献

A feasible scheme is presented to generate a generalized superposition of displaced squeezed states, cosθ|α,z〉±sinθ|-α,z〉, in a single mode of the electromagnetic field inside a microwave cavity. The scheme employs a two-level (Rydberg) atom driven by an external classical field. The success probability and the interaction time of such generation are also considered.  相似文献

In this paper, we use the Green function method to determine the linear quantum mechanical susceptibilities of a single two-level atom and two two-level atoms located inside a coupled-resonator optical waveguide (CROW). We first calculate the susceptibility of a single atom in a CROW which has the same form as that of a single atom in free space, except for the modification of the atomic decay rate and the frequency shift. Then, we consider two non-identical, non-interacting two-level atoms inside two separate cavities of the CROW. We find that the susceptibility of this system contains not only the contributions of the two individual atoms, but also the contribution arising from the atom-atom correlation due to the CROW field. This additional contribution leads to an electromagnetically induced transparency-like (EIT-like) phenomenon. Furthermore, we find that the optical response of the atomic systems under consideration can be controlled by tuning the atomic transition frequency. Finally, we study the effects of the dissipation processes, i.e., the spontaneous emission of the atoms and the photon leakage from the CROW, on the optical susceptibility.  相似文献

This paper considers the modifications of the atomic velocity distribution imposed by a standing wave. The recoil due to induced and spontaneous processes provides an effective force on the particles. We formulate the general problem of a two-level atom in the field of two counter-propagating waves. We derive the rate equation limit for these equations and show how it can be generalized to treat a broad-band source of radiation. The connection with generalized relaxation theory is discussed. The ensuing integral equations are solved numerically for various cases of cooling and heating.  相似文献

We study the interaction between a single two-level atom and N two-level atoms under the effect of a uniform magnetic field. The exact solution is obtained and the expectation value of the time-dependent quantum operators calculated using the Block state (the generalized coherent state). We discuss numerically the atomic inversion where the phenomenon of collapse and revival is observed. The change in the value of the atomic angle plays a role in variance squeezing, where it is pronounced for ?? = π/3. Entropy squeezing is discussed and occurred in the first quadrature. The degree of entanglement through linear entropy is examined where the system shows partial entanglement and at a certain value of parameters displays nearly maximum entanglement.  相似文献

We derive an expression for the Pancharatnam phase for the entangled state of a single two-level atom interacting with a single electromagnetic field mode in an ideal cavity with the atom undergoing either a one- or a two-photon transition. 本文构造了一个含有双能级原子的空腔系统,用来模拟一个含有双能级量子点的微腔系统, 并研究其对电子输运行为的影响.通过对该系统输运方程的求解,给出了系统输运系数的具体表达式,然后通过调整空腔及原子的本征特性以及两者的耦合性质,研究了电子在腔体中的输运行为对腔体本征属性的依赖关系. 这些结果可以为如何操控电子在微观结构器件中的输运特性提供一定的理论支持.  相似文献

We have studied the geometric phase and the sub-Poissonian photon distribution of a generalized N two-level atoms Dicke model in the thermo-dynamical limit and the off-resonant coupling case. It is found that the geometric phase in the ground state is relative to the atom number, the coupling strength between the atom and the light field, the frequency of the electromagnetic wave and the energy difference between two levels of the atom. The photons may exhibit the sub-Poissonian distribution in the ground state.  相似文献

The starting point is a given semigroup of completely positive maps on the 2×2 matrices. This semigroup describes the irreversible evolution of a decaying two-level atom. By using the integral-sum kernel approach to quantum stochastic calculus, the two-level atom is coupled to an environment, which in this case will be interpreted as the electromagnetic field. The irreversible time evolution of the two-level atom then stems from the reversible time evolution of the atom and the field together. Mathematically speaking, a Markov dilation of the semigroup has been constructed. The next step is to drive the atom by a laser and to count the photons emitted into the field by the decaying two-level atom. For every possible sequence of photon counts, a map is constructed that gives the time evolution of the two-level atom implied by that sequence. The family of maps obtained in this way forms a so-called Davies process. In his book, Davies describes the structure of these processes, which brings us into the field of quantum trajectories. Within the model presented in this paper, the jump operators are calculated and the resulting counting process is briefly described.  相似文献

The spatial-temporal correlations of resonant fluorescence from a single two-level atom is studied based on the investigation of different photocurrent correlations after homodyning the fluorescence with a local oscillator.
