In this paper, activated carbon materials were synthesized from pomegranate rind through carbonization and alkaline activation processes. The effects of pyrolytic temperature on the textual properties and electrochemical performance were investigated. The surface area of the activated carbon can reach at least 2200 m2 g?1 at different pyrolytic temperatures. It was found that, at the range of 600–900 °C, decreasing the carbonization temperature leads to the increase of t-plot micropore area, t-plot micropore volume, and capacitance. Further decreasing the carbonization temperature to 500 °C also leads to the increase of t-plot micropore area and t-plot micropore volume, but the capacitance is slightly poorer. The activated carbon carbonized at 600 °C and activated at 800 °C possesses very high specific area (2931 m2 g?1) and exhibits very high capacitance (~268 F g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 and ~242 F g?1 at 1 A g?1). There is no capacitance fading after 2000th cycle.  相似文献

High-performance activated carbon for electrochemical double-layer capacitors (EDLC) has been prepared from cation exchange resin by carbonization and subsequent activation with KOH. The activation temperature has a key role in the determination of porous carbon possessing high surface areas, and large pore structures. The porous carbon activated at 700 °C (carbon-700-1:4) has high surface area (2236 m2?g?1) and large total pore volume (1.15 cm3?g?1), which also displays best capacitive performances due to its well-balanced micro- or mesoporosity distribution. In details, specific capacitances of the carbon-700-1:4 sample are 336.5 F?g?1 at a current density of 1 A?g?1 and 331.8 F?g?1 at 2 A?g?1. At high current density as 20 A?g?1, the retention of its specific capacitance is 68.4 %. The carbon-700-1:4 sample also exhibits high performance of energy density (46.7 Wh?kg?1) and long cycle stability (~8.9 % loss after 3,000 cycles). More importantly, due to the amount of waste ion-exchange resins increasing all over the world, the present synthetic method might be adopted to dispose them, producing high-performance porous carbons for EDLC electrode materials.  相似文献

Li2FeSiO4/C cathode materials have been prepared using the conventional solid-state method by varying the sintering temperature (650 °C, 700 °C and 750 °C), and the structure and electrochemical performance of Li2FeSiO4/C materials are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), galvanostatic charge–discharge tests, respectively. The results show that Li2FeSiO4 nano-crystals with a diameter of about 6–8 nm are inbedded in the amorphous carbon, and the Li2FeSiO4/C material obtained at 700 °C exhibits an initial discharge capacity of 195 mA?h g?1 at 1/16 C in the potential range of 1.5–4.8 V. The excellent electrochemical performance of Li2FeSiO4/C attributes to the improvement of conductivity and reduction of impurity by the optimization of the sintering temperature.  相似文献

Simultaneous electrochemical generation and functionalization of nano-sized graphite from graphite had been carried out in a non-fluoroanion-based ionic liquid, namely, triethylmethylammonium methylsulfate (TEMAMS) containing water and acetonitrile (AN) in different weight ratios. The oxygen-based functional groups attached with the exfoliated material had been identified using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and morphological changes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A symmetrical supercapacitor was fabricated using the exfoliated nano-sized graphite, and the influence of surface functionalities on its performance was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and galvanostatic charge–discharge cycles (CC). The highest specific capacitance (C sp) value of 140 F g?1 at 0.25 A g?1 was obtained in 1.0 M H2SO4, followed by aqueous TEMAMS (125 F g?1), TEMAMS/acetonitrile (115 F g?1), and TEMAMS (106 F g?1) at 0.10 A g?1.  相似文献

Partially graphitized ordered mesoporous carbons have been prepared with a soft template method using low-molecular-weight phenolic resol as a carbon source, triblock copolymer F127 as a template, and ferric citrate as a graphitization catalyst. N2 sorption and transmission electron microscopy analysis show that the ordered mesoporous carbons have been partially graphitized when the carbonization temperature is above 700 °C. The graphitic ordered mesoporous carbons exhibit better rate performance than amorphous ordered mesoporous carbons. The specific capacitance of the graphitic ordered mesoporous carbons (GOMCs) prepared at 700 °C reaches to 112 F g?1 at a scan rate of up to 1,000 mV s?1. Its capacitance retention ratio is 64 %, which is much higher than that of the amorphous ordered mesoporous carbons prepared at 600 °C (33 %). High electronic conductivity and ordered mesoporous structure lead to the high electrochemical performance of the partially graphitized ordered mesoporous carbons.  相似文献

Biomass-derived carbon (BMC) materials have attracted much attention due to their high performance and properties of abundant source. Herein, biomass carbon sheets (BMCS) from wheat straws had been successfully synthesized via a facile high temperature carbonization and expansion processes. The morphology of BMCS keeps the natural honeycomb-like shape of the cross section and the hollow tubular array structure of the vertical section with rich pores, which provides low-resistant ion channels to support fast diffusion. The (002) crystal plane reveals that the intercalation distance of carbon sheets is 0.383 nm larger than that graphite (0.335 nm), which benefits the larger sodium ion de/intercalation. By comparing different carbonization temperatures, wheat straws carbonized at 1200 °C (BMCS-1200) with well graphite microcrystallites show more excellent sodium ion storage performance than that of 900 °C (BMC-900). BMCS-1200 shows a stable reversible capacity of 221 mAh g?1 after 200 cycles at 0.05 A g?1, while BMC-900 is 162 mAh g?1 after 100 cycles. And it also exhibits better rate capability (220, 109 mAh g?1) than that of BMC-900 (125, 77 mAh g?1) at 0.2 and 1 A g?1, respectively. Finally, it delivers 89 mAh g?1 stable capacity after 1400 cycles at 1 A g?1 to prove its excellent long-term cycling stability.

In this paper, porous carbon was synthesized by an activation method, with phenolic resin as carbon source and nanometer calcium carbonate as activating agent. Sulfur–porous carbon composite material was prepared by thermally treating a mixture of sublimed sulfur and porous carbon. Morphology and electrochemical performance of the carbon and sulfur–carbon composite cathode were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS), and galvanostatic charge–discharge test. The composite containing 39 wt.% sulfur obtained an initial discharge capacity of about 1,130 mA?h g?1 under the current density of 80 mA?g?1 and presented a long electrochemical stability up to 100 cycles.  相似文献

Reticular tin nanoparticle-dispersed carbon (Sn/C) nanofibers were fabricated by stabilization of electrospun SnCl4/PAN composite fibers and subsequent carbonization at different temperatures. These Sn/C composite nanofibers used as anode materials for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) show that the Sn/C nanofibers at 700 and 850 °C present much higher charge (785.8 and 811 mA h g?1) and discharge (1211.7 and 993 mA h g?1) capacities than those at 550 and 1000 °C and the as-received CNFs at 850 °C, corresponding to coulombic efficiencies of 64.9% and 81.7%, respectively. The superior electrochemical properties of the intriguing Sn/C nanofibers indicate a promising application in high performance Li-ion batteries.  相似文献

A facile method is developed for homogeneous dispersion of sulfur (S) nanoparticles in multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The process involves the modification of MWCNTs via oxidation catalyzed by acid and the introduction of sulfur nanoparticles into the MWCNTs through direct precipitation. The resulting sample (precipitated S/MWCNTs) is characterized with scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, and its performance as cathode of lithium/sulfur battery is investigated with a comparison of the sample prepared by ball-milling (ball-milling S/MWCNTs). It is found that the precipitated S/MWCNTs exhibit better battery performance than the ball-milling S/MWCNTs. The initial discharge capacity is 1,299 mA?h?g?1 for the precipitated S/MWCNTs but only 839 mA?h?g?1 for ball-milling S/MWCNTs at 0.02 C. The capacity remains 800 mA?h?g?1 for the precipitated S/MWCNTs but only 620 mA?h?g?1 for ball-milling S/MWCNTs at 0.05 C after 50 cycles. The better performance of the precipitated S/MWCNTs results from the improved uniformity of S dispersed in MWCNTs through precipitation.  相似文献

Effect of synthesis parameters on the characteristics of expanded graphite were studied. The starting sample, intercalated graphite, was treated by several methods: thermal shock (400, 1000°C) and programmed heating (400–700°C). The samples were examined by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption. The programmed-heating method yields better texture characteristics as compared with the thermal shock. The programmed-heating method was used to obtain high-quality expanded graphite with high specific surface area (299 m2 g–1) at a comparatively moderate temperature of 400°C.  相似文献

Carbon monoliths with well-defined macropores and high surface areas were prepared by carbonization of macroporous poly(divinylbenzene) (PDVB) monoliths. The carbonization reactions of PDVB networks are studied by thermal analysis and FT-IR measurements. According to the measurement results, the PDVB networks are mostly pyrolyzed at 430 °C and their structures dynamically change to graphite-like structure between 600 and 700 °C. The macropore structure retained while the mesopores disappeared after carbonization. In addition, the surface area of the obtained carbons dramatically increased over 900 °C. The typical carbon monolith carbonized at 1000 °C for 2 h had a surface area of 1500 m2 g?1 and uniform macropores with a diameter of 1 μm.  相似文献

A novel pyridine-containing metal-organic framework (MOF, [Zn(bpdc)DMA]·DMF, bpdc = 2,2′-bipyridine-5,5′-dicarboxylate) was directly carbonized at different temperature to produce nitrogen-doped porous carbons (NPCs). The as-prepared porous carbons, NPC800 (obtained at 800 °C) and NPC1000 (obtained at 1000 °C), were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, N2 sorption isotherms, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results from elemental analysis and XPS confirmed that the pyridine groups in MOF served as nitrogen sources to produce NPCs, and NPC800 possessed the higher nitrogen content than NPC1000. N2 sorption data demonstrated that NPC800 exhibited the larger specific surface area and pore volume than NPC1000. The capacitive properties of NPC800 and NPC1000 were investigated in KOH aqueous electrolyte by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge–discharge curves. NPC800 showed the higher specific capacitance (226.6 F g?1 at 1 A g?1) than NPC1000 and retained 178.0 F g?1 even at a high current density up to 10 A g?1. It was found that the donation of N species to capacitance was more than the role of porosity in view of their synergetic effect.  相似文献

Hierarchical porous carbons (HPCs) with abundant mesopores have been prepared by a facile route from the starch that was pretreated by calcium acetate. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, and N2 adsorption–desorption tests show that hierarchical porous carbons with bimodal mesopores have been obtained. Moreover, the pore sizes are tunable by simply adjusting the reactants ratio and carbonization temperature. The as-synthesized hierarchical porous carbon materials (HPCs-2-800) possesses the highest Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET)-specific surface area of 464 m2 g?1 and mesoporous volume of 0.663 cm3 g?1 at the carbonization temperature of 800 °C and starch to calcium acetate mass ratio of 2. Electrochemical measurements also display that the HPCs-2-800 electrodes have a high reversible capacity of 244 F g?1 at the current density of 0.1 A g?1 and 182 F g?1 at the current density of 10 A g?1. When the current density is elevated from 0.1 to 10 A g?1, the high capacitance retention of 74.6 % reveals a good rate performance. Long charge–discharge cycling measurements disclose good stabilities over 25,000 cycles at different current densities of 1–10 A g?1 (5000 cycles at each current density) for HPCs-2-800 electrode. The cycling results indicate a high capacitance retention of 99.6 % over 5000 charge–discharge cycles even at the current density of 10 A g?1. The excellent supercapacitive performances imply that HPCs-2-800 is a promising candidate for supercapacitors.  相似文献

A white calcium bentonite (CaB) taken from Çaml?dere (Ankara, Turkey) region was heated at various temperatures between 100 and 1100 °C for 2 h. The mineralogy of the CaB was determined as calcium smectite (CaS), metahalloysite (MH), opal-A (OA), opal-CT (OCT), quartz (Q), feldspar (F), and calcite (C) using the X-ray diffraction patterns of the natural CaB and its heated samples. Besides the XRD patterns, the thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis, and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption (N2-AD) data show that the CaS lose adsorbed and hydration water up to 300 °C, dehydroxylation takes place between 300 and 750 °C, and then the 2:1 layer structure completely collapses above 900 °C. The activation energies for the dehydration and dehydroxylation were calculated as 7636 and 48838 J mol?1, respectively, from the TG data using Coats and Redfern method. The specific surface area (S) and specific micro–mesopore volume (V) obtained from N2-AD data were 44 m2 g?1 and 0.100 cm3 g?1 for the natural CaB. S and V reach their maxima of 105 m2 g?1 and 0.155 cm3 g?1, respectively, at 300 °C, remain approximately constant as the temperature increases up to 700 °C and then decrease almost in parallel with each other, reaching their minima at 900 °C. This indicates that the S and V values increase gradually during dehydration and dehydroxylation of the CaS.  相似文献

Reed straw-derived active carbon@graphene (AC@GR) hybrids were prepared by one-step carbonization/activation process using a mixture of reed straw and graphene oxide (GO) as raw materials and ZnCl2 as activation agent. The as-prepared hybrids exhibit high specific surface area in a range of 1971–2497 m2 g?1, abundant porosity, as well as excellent energy storage capability. The symmetric C//C supercapacitor using the hybrid obtained at 700 °C as electrodes demonstrates superior cycling durability, ca. 90 % retention after 6000 cycles at 2 A g?1, and a high energy density of 6.12 Wh kg?1 at a power density of up to 4660 W kg?1 in 6 M KOH aqueous electrolyte. The excellent capacitive performance is attributed to the synergistic effect of AC and GR.  相似文献

This study describes the facile synthesis of platinum nanoparticle-containing porous carbons (Pt/C) by carbonization of freeze-dried agarose gels containing potassium tetrachloroplatinate under a nitrogen atmosphere at 800 °C. By adjusting the ratio between agarose and platinate in the freeze-dried gels, the Pt content in the final Pt/C products could be systematically varied from 0–10 wt.%. Transmission electron microscopy, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and nitrogen physisorption measurements revealed that the Pt/C materials obtained by this method possess high surface areas (350–500 m2 g?1), narrow Pt nanoparticle size distributions (6 ± 3 nm) and nanocrystalline graphite –like carbon character. By immobilization of glucose oxidase on the surface of a 4 wt.% Pt/C electrocatalyst prepared by this route, a very sensitive amperometric glucose biosensor was obtained (response time <2 min, sensitivity 1.9 mA M?1; and a linear response with glucose concentration up to 10 mM). The simplicity and versatility of the described synthetic method suggests its application to the preparation of carbon supported noble metal catalysts including palladium/C and gold/C. Figure

Characterizations were carried out to study on a new plasticized solid polymer electrolyte that was composed of blends of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), liquid 50% epoxidized natural rubber (LENR50), ethylene carbonate, and polypropylene carbonate. This freestanding solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) was successfully prepared by solution casting technique. Further analysis and characterizations were carried out by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR), and impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The SEM results show that the morphologies of SPEs are compatible with good homogeneity. No agglomeration was observed. However, upon addition of salt, formation of micropores occurred. It is worth to note that micropores improve the mobility of ions in the SPE system, thus increased the ionic conductivity whereas the crystallinity analysis for SPEs indicates that the LiClO4 salt is well complexed in the plasticized PVC-LENR50 as no sharp crystallinity peak was observed for 5–15% wt. LiClO4. This implies that LiClO4 salt interacts with polymer host as more bonds are form via coordination bonding. In DSC study, it is found that the glass temperature (T g) increased with the concentration of LiClO4. The lowest T g was obtained at 41.6 °C when incorporated with 15% wt. LiClO4. The features of complexation in the electrolyte matrix were studied using ATR-FTIR at the peaks of C=O, C–O–C, and C–Cl. In EIS analysis, the highest ionic conductivity obtained was 1.20?×?10?3 S cm?1 at 15% wt. LiClO4 at 353 K.  相似文献

The thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) technique has been used to study the slow molecular mobility of polysulfone in the glassy state and in the glass transformation region, i.e., in the temperature ranging from ?155 to 183 °C. Since the polysulfone is a rigid polymer without polar side-groups, a broad and low-intensity secondary relaxation was detected in the temperature region from ?120 °C up to the glass transition; the activation energy of the motional modes of this secondary relaxation is in the range between 35 and 100 kJ mol?1. The glass transition temperature of polysulfone provided by the TSDC technique is T M = T g = 176 °C (at 4 °C min?1). The relaxation time at this temperature is τ(T g) = 33 s and the fragility index was found to be m = 91. Our results are compared with literature values obtained by dynamic mechanical analysis and by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy. The amorphous polysulfone was also characterized by DSC; a glass transition signal with an onset at T on = 185.5 ± 0.3 °C (heating rate 10 °C min?1) was detected, with ΔC p = 0.21 ± 0.01 J g?1 °C?1.  相似文献

Powdered samples (1 mg) are mixed with 1 mg of powdered graphite and copper is determined by atomic absorption spectrometry in a miniature graphite cup placed in a graphite crucible. Optimum conditions were drying at 200 °C (30 s), ashing at 900 °C (30 s), atomizing at 2700 °C (15 s) and cleaning at 2800 °C (10 s). Samples were powdered to 1–10 μm particle size. Magnesium, manganese and iron did not interfere. The effect of calcium carbonate was eliminated by the graphite addition. Results for copper (0.5–5 μg g?1) in the scale and rocks agreed well with values obtained for dissolved samples. Relative standard deviations (n=10) were 4.9% for 1.2 μg g?1 copper and 14.8% for 0.577 μg g?1.  相似文献
