Several oscillation criteria are given for the second-order damped nonlinear differential equation (a(t)[y′(t)]σi +p(t)[y′(t)]σ +q(t)f(y(t)) = 0, where σ > 0 is any quotient of odd integers, a ϵ C(R, (0, ∞)), p(t) and q(t) are allowed to change sign on [to, ∞), and f ϵ Cl (R, R) such that xf (x) > 0 for x≠0. Our results improve and extend some known oscillation criteria. Examples are inserted to illustrate our results.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the concept of a weak solution for second order differential inclusions of the form u″(t) ∈ Au(t) + f(t), where A is a maximal monotone operator in a Hilbert space H. We prove existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to two point boundary value problems associated with such kind of equations. Furthermore, existence of (strong and weak) solutions to the equation above which are bounded on the positive half axis is proved under the optimal condition tf(t) ∈ L 1(0, ∞; H), thus solving a long-standing open problem (for details, see our comments in Section 3 of the paper). Our treatment regarding weak solutions is similar to the corresponding theory related to the first order differential inclusions of the form f(t) ∈ u′(t) + Au(t) which has already been well developed.  相似文献

The paper de ls with oscillation of Runge-Kutta methods for equation x'(t) = ax(t) + aox([t]). The conditions of oscillation for the numerical methods are presented by considering the characteristic equation of the corresponding discrete scheme. It is proved that any nodes have the same oscillatory property as the integer nodes. Furthermore, the conditions under which the oscillation of the analytic solution is inherited by the numerical solution are obtained. The relationships between stability and oscillation are considered. Finally, some numerical experiments are given.  相似文献

We show that if u is a bounded solution on R+ of u″(t) ?Au(t) + f(t), where A is a maximal monotone operator on a real Hilbert space H and fLloc2(R+;H) is periodic, then there exists a periodic solution ω of the differential equation such that u(t) ? ω(t)   0 and u′(t) ? ω′(t) → 0 as t → ∞. We also show that the two-point boundary value problem for this equation has a unique solution for boundary values in D(A) and that a smoothing effect takes place.  相似文献

Abstract. Stability conditions for functional differential equations of the form: du (t)/ dt = Au(t)+ bAu(t-h)+(a^\ast Au)(t) are studied, where A is the infinitesimal generator of an analytic semigroup in a Hilbert space, b\neq 0 and the convolution term contains a square integrable real function a\neq 0 . Norm discontinuity of the solution semigroup of the equation with discrete delay is avoided by studying the inverse of the characteristic operator. Sufficient and necessary conditions for the uniform exponential stability of the solution semigroup are obtained. The results are applied to a retarded partial integrodifferential equation.  相似文献

Moreover, when the equation is almost periodic, the similar conditions can also guarantee the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solution that is globally attractive. This paper deals with the construction of continuous numerical solutions of mixed problems described by the time-dependent telegraph equation utt + c(t)ut + b(t)u = a(t)uxx, 0 < x < d, t > 0. Here a(t), b(t), and c(t) are positive functions with appropiate additional alternative hypotheses. First, using the separation of variables technique a theoretical series solution is obtained. Then, after truncation using one-step matrix methods and interpolating functions, a continuous numerical solution with a prefixed accuracy in a bounded subdomain is constructed.  相似文献

This paper discusses a randomized non-autonomous logistic equation , where B(t) is a 1-dimensional standard Brownian motion. In [D.Q. Jiang, N.Z. Shi, A note on non-autonomous logistic equation with random perturbation, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 303 (2005) 164-172], the authors show that E[1/N(t)] has a unique positive T-periodic solution E[1/Np(t)] provided a(t), b(t) and α(t) are continuous T-periodic functions, a(t)>0, b(t)>0 and . We show that this equation is stochastically permanent and the solution Np(t) is globally attractive provided a(t), b(t) and α(t) are continuous T-periodic functions, a(t)>0, b(t)>0 and mint∈[0,T]a(t)>maxt∈[0,T]α2(t). By the way, the similar results of a generalized non-autonomous logistic equation with random perturbation are yielded.  相似文献

The autonomous nonlinear functional differential equation x(t) = F(xt), t ? 0, x0 = φ is studied as a semigroup of nonlinear operators in Lp function spaces. The method employed is to construct a semigroup of nonlinear operators which may be associated with the solutions of this equation. For each x?E, let V(x) generate a strongly continuous semigroup Tx(t) on L. An operator-valued Feynman-Kac formula is developed and solutions of the initial value problem ?u?t = Au + V(x)u, u(0) = φ are obtained. Fewer conditions are assumed than in known results; in particular, the semigroups {Tx(t)} need not commute, nor must they be contractions. Evolution equation theory is used to develop a multiplicative operative functional and the corresponding expectation semigroup has the infinitesimal generator A + V(x) on a restriction of the domain of A.  相似文献

This paper deals with the damped superlinear oscillator $$x'' + a(t)\phi_p\bigl(x' \bigr) + b(t)\phi_q\bigl(x'\bigr)+ \omega^2x = 0, $$ where a(t) and b(t) are continuous and nonnegative for t≥0; p and q are real numbers greater than or equal to 2; ? r (x′)=|x′| r?2 x′. This equation is a generalization of nonlinear ship rolling motion with Froude’s expression, which is very familiar in marine engineering, ocean engineering and so on. Our concern is to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the equilibrium to be globally asymptotically stable. In particular, the effect of the damping coefficients a(t), b(t) and the nonlinear functions ? p (x′), ? q (x′) on the global asymptotic stability is discussed. The obtained criterion is judged by whether the integral of a particular solution of the first-order nonlinear differential equation $$u' + \omega^{p-2}a(t)\phi_p(u) + \omega^{q-2}b(t)\phi_q(u) + 1 = 0 $$ is divergent or convergent. In addition, explicit sufficient conditions and explicit necessary conditions are given for the equilibrium of the damped superlinear oscillator to be globally attractive. Moreover, some examples are included to illustrate our results. Finally, our results are extended to be applied to a more complicated model.  相似文献

A C0-semigroup (Tt) of positive linear operators on a Banach lattice E is called irreducible if it leaves no closed lattice ideals ≠ {0}, E invariant. It is shown that all known (and some recently discovered) conditions on E and/or an irreducible cyclic semigroup (Tn) implying that σ(T) ≠ {0}, have precise analogs for irreducible semigroups, to the effect that the generator A has nonvoid spectrum and, if (Tt) is eventually compact or A has compact resolvent, that the spectral bound s(A) is an eigenvalue of A with positive eigenvector.  相似文献
