In this work, we show that the transmission moiré pattern is two-dimensional autocorrelation of transmission function (2D-ACTF) of two superimposed linear gratings that make a small angle with each other. In this approach, the properties of moiré fringes vs. the relative displacement of the gratings are formulated. By measuring 2D-ACTF of two similar gratings, we evaluate the modulation transfer function (MTF) of the gratings’ generating system. This work is the generalized form of our previous works. The implied MTF measurement method is easier and faster than our previous methods.  相似文献

Recently pattern formation in layered structures, showing complicated superimposed patterns, has been modeled by coupling two Turing systems linearly, i.e., passively, such that the characteristic length scales of the independent systems are well separated. Here we propose a model of two non-linearly coupled Turing systems to study pattern formation in layered membrane-like structures, where the coupling plays an active role and changes the kinetics of the uncoupled systems. Extensive numerical simulations show that non-linear coupling generates a number of new regular patterns different from the ones observed earlier with linearly coupled systems. Some of them turn out to be superimposed patterns with different length scales, but many are not. Also, contrary to the linear coupling case, the strength of the non-linear coupling is found to play an important role in the formation and selection of patterns.  相似文献

The light intensity diffracted from superimposed dual transmission gratings is sensitive to their relative lateral displacement but is also affected by changes in the air gap between them. Averaging the diffracted light intensities obtained in the gap range of a Fourier image distance, the resultant intensity was almost independent of the gap between the two gratings and had a period of half the pitch of the grating for the lateral displacement. This method can be used for a linear encoder in precision machining.  相似文献

提出一种可将离面位移与面内位移分离的三维位移计算方法。在双光束电子散斑干涉系统中增加一路参考光,使这一路参考光为两光束所共用。两束光各自独立地对变形物体进行测量,分别计算相位分布,并对其中之一进行反相位计算。理论分析表明,对二路检测光所得到的相位进行相减运算,就能够较好地减少电子噪声的影响,分离面内位移场与离面位移,实现物体变形的三维测量。介绍该方法的原理,并利用典型实验证实了该方法的可行性。  相似文献

Optical techniques have been applied to the measurement of solid deformations in many instances. Practical difficulties with a particular technique can be overcome, in some circumstances, with attention to experimental detail. However, a common problem is the quantitative interpretation of the optical data thus obtained: this can be a time-consuming process and depends on the operator's skill. This paper describes an electronic speckle pattern interferometer that measures two in-plane displacement components simultaneously. The (phase-stepping) procedures implemented for automated displacement and strain analysis are described. Simultaneous measurement of the two displacement components is particularly important for shear strain measurement, because data from the two in-plane views must be combined. The accuracies of displacement and strain measurements are shown to be ±0·03 μm and ±6 μstrain, respectively. Results are presented for a compact tension specimen.  相似文献

Photorefractive crystals offer several attractive features such as high resolution and in situ processing. As the images are erasable, these crystals are suitable for read–write applications and hence find potential use in speckle photography, image processing and holography. The barium titanate (BaTiO3) crystal as recording medium has been extensively used as a novelty filter for real-time in-plane displacement measurements employing two-beam coupling configuration. This paper presents new optical configurations in speckle shear photography to measure in-plan displacement and the strain in real time using BaTiO3 crystal as recording medium. Speckle photography studies are made using a simple two-beam coupling configuration. In speckle shear photography, a diffused object illuminated with two parallel narrow laser beams is imaged inside the crystal, and a pump beam is added at this plane. The speckle patterns due to each beam and the pump beam produce index gratings. When the object is deformed, the speckle patterns shift consequently. We now have four speckle fields: two generated from the interaction of pump beam with the index gratings and two pertaining to deformed states directly transmitted through the crystal. Thus, the fields from respective points on the object interfere after passage through the crystal and produce the Young's fringe patterns. Due to strain, the fringes in each pattern are of different width and orientation, resulting in the generation of a Moiré pattern. The strain is obtained from the width and orientation of the fringes in the Moiré pattern. The experiments are conducted on a specimen with a notch, which is subjected to tensile loading. The in-plane displacement is measured separately in another experiment. The above studies are carried out at Nd–Yag laser.  相似文献

This paper presents an outline of the theory for the dynamics of clusters of independently supported flexible cylinders in axial flow, and an extensive discussion of the behaviour of such systems with increasing flow velocity, with special emphasis placed on the modal forms of free coupled motions of the cylinders and on the onset of instabilities. Results of an experimental study of the problem are also presented, involving systems of two, three or four cylinders supported at both ends and positioned symmetrically in the cylindrical test section of a water tunnel; experiments were conducted with different inter-cylinder gaps and support conditions. Both theory and experiment show that with increasing flow the system loses stability by buckling in one of its coupled modes, commonly in a pattern where cylinders move towards one another symmetrically, maximum displacement occurring just downstream of their midpoints. With increasing flow, theory predicts that other buckling instabilities are superimposed on the first; in the experiments the system remains buckled, changing modal patterns constantly; some of them correspond to those predicted by theory. At sufficiently high flow, oscillatory motion is observed, corresponding to theoretical flutter. Theory and experiment agree qualitatively in most essential features of the dynamical behaviour of the system, and quantitative agreement in the critical flow velocities for the onset of the first buckling instability is remarkably good.  相似文献

A carrier method for separating out-of-plane displacement from in-plane components based on large imageshearing shearography is presented. A reference surface is fixed on the side of a test object. They are illuminated by two expanded symmetric illuminations respectively. The carrier is introduced by rotating the reference surface to modulate the displacement of an object. By using Fourier transform to demodulate the modulated fringe pattern, two phase maps, which include out-of-plane and in-plane displacements, can be obtained. Then the out-of-plane displacement can be easily separated from in-plane displacement by subtraction and addition of the two unwrapped phase distributions. The principle of the method is presented and proved by a typical three-point-bending experiment. Experimental results show that the method enjoys high visibility of carrier fringes. The system does not need a special beam as a reference light and has simple optical setup.  相似文献

本文利用有限元分析软件ANSYS研究了一组粗细端截面积比不同的阶梯形变幅杆,得出了每个变幅杆的第一阶和第三阶谐振频率、粗细端分界面的相对位移和振幅放大系数。结果表明:ANSYS仿真值与实测值的平均偏差仅为0.3%,远小于常用式解析值与实测值的偏差;变幅杆粗细端分界面的运动类似受牵引的薄膜运动;而振幅放大系数与面积比成正比的结论可扩展到粗细端截面积比为100的情况。  相似文献

A novel method for simultaneously measuring whole field in-plane displacements by using optical fiber phase-shifting electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) is presented in this paper. A 1 × 4 single mode optical fiber beamsplitter is employed to split the laser beam into four beams of equal intensity. One pair of fibers is utilized to illuminate the diffuse target at equal angles in the horizontal plane so it is sensitive only to horizontal in-plane displacement. Another pair of optical fibers is set to be sensitive only to vertical in-plane displacement. The polarization directions of light emitted by fibers are the same for each pair, but are at a right angle between pairs. The optical fibers are equal in length for each pair, but are not equal between two pairs. In this case the speckles are interference between each pair of fibers, thus the horizontal and vertical displacement components can be obtained simultaneously. By means of a fiber phase shift technique we can obtain the quantitative data of whole field displacements. This method has made it possible to study the in-plane displacement of a thin metal plate, and the examples of the results are shown to demonstrate the novel method.  相似文献

A transition model, which is capable of obtaining both membrane and bending residual stress components from initial experimental information, is developed for thin-walled plane structures. The determination of residual stresses is based on the combined implementing of the hole-drilling method and reflection hologram interferometry. Required input data are obtained by simultaneous measurements on through hole distortions in two principal strain directions on opposite sides of thin plane specimen. These sides are faces of the drill entrance and exit. Superimposed residual stresses field, which consists of both membrane and bending components, is a reason for the various deviations of each specific fringe pattern from an ideal form. This fact is a clear experimental indication of the bending stress contribution in a total stress field. Two ways of decomposition of superimposed residual stresses field are proposed and analysed in detail. Emphasis is laid on a careful quantitative formulation of the inverse problem needed for an accurate deriving both membrane and bending residual stress components. It is shown that an availability of two-side initial data is both an essential and necessary condition of such a formulation. Detailed analysis of an accuracy of the results obtained is performed. This analysis is based on a wide set of both actual interferograms and analogous reference fringe patterns related to superimposed residual stress field under study. Comparing residual stress values obtained proceeding from one-side and two-side data are presented for different types of superimposed field of interest.  相似文献

A fringe carrier method for separating out-of-plane displacement from in-plane components based on large image-shearing electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) is presented. If the test object is respectively illuminated by two expanded symmetric illuminations in large image-shearing ESPI, two interferometers are formed. Carrier fringe patterns can be introduced by tilting reference surface a small angle. The carrier fringe patterns are demodulated after deformation of the object. Two phase maps, which include out-of-plane and in-plane displacement, can be obtained by using Fourier transform. Then out-of-plane displacement can be easily separated from in-plane displacement by simple operation between two unwrapped phase distributions. The principle of spatial carrier frequency modulation in large image-shearing ESPI is discussed. A typical three-point-bending experiment is completed. Experimental results are offered. The results show that the method offers high visibility of carrier fringes. And the system presented does not need a special beam as a reference light and has simple optical setup.  相似文献

Analysis is made of the interferometer sensitivity to transverse or longitudinal displacements of a diffusively scattering surface under double-exposure recording of a focused image hologram, where the distribution of the complex field amplitude results from two Fourier transforms of the distribution in the object plane. It is shown that in the case of transverse displacement of the scatterer, the interference patterns are localized in two planes, with each plane characterized by different interferometer sensitivity. 在物体变形场的测量中,云纹干涉的载频调制技术有重要作用.在云纹干涉中,对称光照明产生的衍射光沿试件栅表面的法线传播并产生干涉.通过改变照明光的入射角度,可实现变形条纹场的空间调制.通过光程差的分析说明了载波条纹产生的机理,得出了载波频率与照明光入射角度变化之间的关系式.利用三点弯曲加载结合二维载频调制实验,给出了实验结果.证明了在初始条纹较少的情况下,载频调制技术能有效地测量物体的位移场.  相似文献

Projection moiré interferometry (PMI) is an out-of-plane displacement measurement technique, and consists of capturing reference and deformed images of a grid pattern projected on the test object. By differencing the reference and deformed images of the projected grid pattern, a fringe pattern is generated from which the displacement field can be extracted. Due to the projection-oriented nature of this technique, measuring displacements in applications with non-viewable, hidden, or inaccessible reference surfaces excludes the use of PMI. This paper presents a technique for computing the difference contours between a digital and physical object. A CAD model of the inaccessible surface is converted to a point cloud and a surface interpolation function is implemented to generate a digital displacement field, which can be correlated and differenced from the displacement field of the physical object determined through traditional PMI methods. These techniques are validated by comparing results from an airfoil with other measurement methods.  相似文献

On the one hand, it is well known that Gaussian beams possess the ability to stimulate Rayleigh waves, resulting in the Schoch effect, a lateral beam displacement. This effect, often characterized by a reflected sound pattern consisting of two anti-phase beams, is due to the re-radiation of sound because of the stimulation of leaky Rayleigh waves. On the other hand, fringed sound beams are characterized by the fact that they consist of a number of neighboring anti-phase narrow beams. They are a first approximation of a sound field originating from a phased array of harmonic vibrating crystals in which each crystal vibrates in anti-phase compared to its neighbor. The individual lobes within the fringed sound pattern diverge much less than standard Gaussian beams of the same size. The current study investigates the interaction of fringed beams with a liquid-solid interface. It is found that under certain conditions, a fringed beam, incident at the Rayleigh angle, produces a reflected sound pattern that contains a wide lobe that is not fringed. It is also shown that under other conditions, contrary to the famous forward displacement of the reflected sound for incident Gaussian beams, a strong backward displacement occurs for fringed beams.  相似文献

We present the simultaneous measurement of the two in-plane displacement components by electronic speckle pattern interferometry with three object beams and without an in-line reference beam. Three interference fringe patterns, corresponding to three different sensitivity vectors, are recorded in a single interferogram and separated by means of the Fourier transform method. This paper presents a real-time digital speckle pattern interferometry system with twofold increase in sensitivity for the measurement of in-plane displacement and first order derivative of out-of-plane displacement (slope). Spatial phase shifting technique has been used for quantitative fringe analysis. The system employs a double aperture arrangement in front of the imaging system that introduces spatial carrier fringes within the speckle for spatial phase shifting. For in-plane displacement measurement, the scattered fields from the object are collected independently along the direction of illumination beams, and combined at the image plane. For slope measurement, a shear is introduced between the two scattered fields. Experimental results on an edge clamped circular plate subjected to in-plane rotation for in-plane displacement measurement and central loading for slope measurement are presented.  相似文献

A method for calculating the refractive index of GRIN optical fiber from its transverse interference pattern is presented.In this method the transverse interference fringe pattern through an optical fiber using a sheet of light is applied to get the refractive index profile of it. The optical fiber is not immersed in a matching liquid as used in different techniques [Barakat N, El-Hennawi HA, El-Zaiat SY, Hassan R. Pure Appl Opt 1996;5:27].In this method a sheet of He–Ne laser light is allowed to illuminate the fiber. The light sheet is divided into two parts, the first is refracted through the fiber while the second is used as a reference beam. Interference pattern will be obtained between these two rays displaying the refractive index variation along the fiber radius.The fringe shift of such interference pattern has been measured and used to calculate the deflection angle of light refracted by the fiber and the cladding. An equation is derived to calculate the refractive index profile difference ratio δn at different positions across the fiber cross section in terms of the corresponding deflection angle and is verified experimentally.The optical path difference between these two rays (refracted and reference beam divided by the fiber) has been derived and the fringe shift obtained has been used to calculate the refractive index profile of the fiber.Introducing a ground glass screen on the passage of the two light beams (refracted and reference beam divided by the fiber), two superimposed identical speckle patterns are formed leading to the formation of a third speckle pattern modulated by a grid structure displaying the optical thickness of the fiber.  相似文献
