Entropies of formation ( of aqueous fluorine containing anions were shown to follow different entropic patterns than those of oxygen or hydrogen containing anions. Approaches to estimation of the entropies of formation of these anions are based on “simple” entropic patterns, where simple means the use of parameters derived only from the stoichiometry of these species, which are investigated, discussed and commented upon. “Simple” energetic patterns, where simple means the use of parameters derived only from the stoichiometry of these species, are relatively rarely discussed in the literature. In addition, entropy studies have been dominated by derivation of the absolute quantity S° rather than the entropy of formation (TΔf S o). Relationships between the entropy of formation and different parameters such as negative value of the charge of the species, the number of oxygen atoms, the natural logarithm of the molecular weight, the total number of atoms and the number of central atoms that are gases were recently discussed by us for aqueous polynuclear oxyanions. As shown here hydrogen containing anions do not follow this pattern. In this study, new approaches for the estimation of the entropy of formation of aqueous hydrogen containing mono and polynuclear oxyanions are suggested, evaluated and recommended.  相似文献

The partitioning of xylanase produced byPenicillium janthinellum in aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and phosphate (K2HPO4/KH2PO4) was studied employing a statistical experimental design. The aim was to identify the key factors governing xylanase partitioning. The interactions of five factors (PEG concentration molecular weight, concentration of buffer K2HPO4/KH2PO4, pH, and NaCl concentration) and their main effects on the partition coefficient (K) were evaluated by means of a 25 full-factorial experimental design with four center points. The %PEG, %NaCl, and pH were the most important factors affecting the response variable (K). Response surface methodology (RSM) was adopted and an empirical second-order polynomial model was constructed on the basis of the results. The optimum partition conditions were pH 7.0, PEG = 8.83% and NaCl = 6.02%. Adequacy of the model for predicting optimum response value was tested under these conditions. The experimental xylanase partition coefficient (K) was 2.21, whereas its value predicted by the model was 2.33. These results indicate that the predicted model was adequate for the process. PEG molecular weight and phosphate concentration did not affect the xylanase partition coefficient.  相似文献

The water-structural contributions to the entropies and heat capacities of hydration of over 120 ions and the viscosity B-coefficients of nearly 80 aqueous ions are tabulated and correlated. B-coefficients for many more ions are predicted from this relationship and from their dependence on ionic size and charge. The structural entropies determine a unique scale of water structure making and breaking by the ions.  相似文献

Summary The ionic product of water, , has been determined in aqueous NaCl (0.5–5.0M), KCl (3.0M), NaNO3 (3.0 and 5.0M), and KNO3 (2.5M) at 25 °C from high-precision potentiometric titrations carried out in cells with liquid junction using either glass or hydrogen electrodes. Measurements ofK w provide a set of self-consistent data that can be used in the estimation of activity coefficient changes and liquid junction potentials in the study of extremely concentrated electrolyte solutions. Where comparison is possible, results obtained by hydrogen electrode measurements are in excellent agreement (ca ± 0.005 inpK w) with other reliable experimental values and the predictions of thePitzer activity-coefficient model. The glass electrode results are, as expected, routinely lower (by 0.03–0.05pK w units), owing to interference by Na+ ions. This effect virtually disappears in solutions of potassium salts. The viscosities of some mineral salt viz.; potassium chloride, potassium nitrate, magnesium chloride, magnesium nitrate, at different concentrations have been determined in water and in binary aqueous solution of sodiumdodecyl sulfate (SDS) (0.007 mol · kg−1 and 0.01 mol · kg−1) at different temperatures. The data have been analyzed using Jones–Dole equation and the derivative parameters B and A have been interpreted in terms of ion–solvent and ion–ion interactions respectively. The change of Gibbs free energy of activation , enthalpy of activation , and entropy of activation for viscous flow of the solutions were calculated using Eyring equation, which depicts the mechanism of viscous flow. The structure making/breaking nature of the studied electrolytes has been discussed in the light of first derivative of B-coefficient (dB/dT) over temperatures. Potassium chloride and potassium nitrate acts as structure breaker in water where as all the salts are structure makers in aqueous SDS solutions, i.e. the postmicellar and pre-micellar regions.  相似文献

Bondingness, originally used in a qualitative analysis of the barrier to rotation in ethane, has been used to model ΔfH° (g) for simple organic substances. The model is parameterised with a set of 345 molecules including alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, alkenoates, amines, amides, diazenes, nitriles, nitroalkanes, nitrates, thiols and benzenoids. The model is compared with a current empirical scheme as well as a comparison of variations of the model using different simple steric potentials. Using bondingness and the most approximate quantum chemical models a model can be formulated that is comparable with empirical group methods but requiring less parameters.  相似文献

Oligomerization efficiency of amino acids in aqueous solution has been compared under different conditions (temperature, activating agent, etc.) using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC) and 1,1-carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) as coupling agents. Glycine (H2N-CH2-COOH) and α-alanine (H2N-CH(CH3)-COOH) were chosen as α-amino acids and β-alanine (H2N-CH2-CH2-COOH) as the β-amino acid. The coupling reaction between EDC and glycine was shown to occur but does not go to completion either at ambient temperature or at 70 °C. The presence of a carboxylic activating agent such as N-hydroxysuccinimide improves the EDC-mediated coupling reaction, and the amino acid structure (α- or β-) was shown to have an influence on the oligomerization efficiency, with β-alanine polymerisation being more efficient. These findings are explained by reference to the reaction mechanism.  相似文献

The kinetics of the auto-oxidation of 2-aminophenol (OAP) to 2-amino-phenoxazin-3-one (APX) was followed in air-saturated aqueous solutions and the influence of temperature and pH on the auto-oxidation rate was studied. The kinetic analysis was based on a spectrophotometric method following the increase of the absorbance of APX. The process follows first order kinetics according to the rate law—d[OAP]/dt=k′[OAP]. The experimental data, within the pH range 4–9.85, were analyzed using both differential and incremental methods. The temperature variation of the overall rate constant was studied at pH=9.85 within the range 25–50°C and the corresponding activation energy was evaluated.  相似文献

The swelling and dissolution mechanisms of several cellulose derivatives (nitrocellulose, cyanoethylcellulose and xanthate fibres) are studied in aqueous systems (N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide—water with various contents of water, hydroxide sodium—water) and in ionic liquids. The results are compared with the five modes describing the swelling and dissolution mechanisms of cotton and wood cellulose fibres. The mechanisms observed for the cellulose derivatives are similar to the ones of cotton and wood fibres. Swelling by ballooning is also seen with cellulose derivatives, showing that this phenomenon is linked to the fibre morphology, which can be kept after undergoing a heterogeneous derivatisation. The formation of the lanthanide (La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) complexes with proline and hydroxyproline has been investigated by potentiometric methods as well as by a turbidimetric one which has provided some additional conclusions. It has been found that 11 and a slight amount of 21 complexes are formed. The deviation from the typical course of the formation function is discussed. It is suggested that the perturbations of complex formation in the systems are caused by hydrolysis. The stability constants of the complexes are reported.

Zusammenfassung Die Bildung von Lanthanid-Komplexen (La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) mit Prolin und Hydroxyprolin wurde potentiometrisch und mit Hilfe von Trübungsmessungen untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, daß sich Komplexe der Zusammensetzung 11 und in kleiner Menge auch 21 bilden. Die Abweichung von typischem Verlauf der Bildungskurven wurde untersucht. Es wurde dabei festgestellt, daß für die Störungen in der Komplexbildung die Hydrolyse verantwortlich ist. Die Stabilitätskonstanten wurden bestimmt.

The keto-enol tautomerization of p-hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid (pHPP) in aqueous solutions and the complexation reaction between enolic pHPP and boric acid have been studied by electrochemical techniques including linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), pulse voltammetry, and cyclic voltammetry (CV), combining with UV spectrometry. Electrochemical techniques reveal that in aqueous solution, there are two tautomers of pHPP: enolic form and ketonic form; the former exists mainly in freshly prepared pHPP solution, and the latter exists mainly in equilibrium solution. Both enolic and ketonic pHPP are electroactive. The electrochemical oxidation of enolic pHPP gives rise to two anodic waves, I(a) and II(a), while the electrochemical oxidation of ketonic pHPP only results in the observation of the second wave II(a). The oxidation process I(a) is revealed to be associated with the quasi-reversible, two-electron two-proton oxidation of "C=C"group at the side chain of enolic pHPP, and the oxidation process II(a) is proposed to result from the irreversible oxidation of phenolic hydroxyl group. It is observed that in aqueous solution, enolic pHPP can quickly complex with boric acid to yield enol-borate complex that can also oxidize at a glassy carbon electrode to yield an anodic wave.  相似文献

The coadsorption of aspirin and nicotinamide at the free water surface was investigated. The adsorption properties of investigated compounds are discussed on the basis of Gibb's equation and Temkin's isotherm.The effective dipole moment of aspirin and nicotinamide has been determined by the Helmholtz equation on the basis of surface excess values obtained from surface tension measurements, and surface potential changes. Compared with the conventional ionic liquids, amino acid ionic liquids are more biodegradable and biocompatible, and can enhance stability of biomaterials. In this work, amino acid ionic liquids 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium L-serine ([C(4)mim][Ser]), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium glycine ([C(4)mim][Gly]), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium L-alanine ([C(4)mim][Ala]) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium L-leucine ([C(4)mim][Leu]) have been synthesized. These ionic liquids are found to form aqueous two-phase systems (ATPSs) by the salted-out of K(3)PO(4) in aqueous solutions. Phase diagram of the ATPSs and the Gibbs energies of transfer of methylene group from the bottom salt-rich phase to the top ionic liquid-rich phase have been determined at 298.15K and pH 14, and the effect of anionic structure of the ionic liquids on phase formation of the ATPSs and the relative hydrophobicity between the top and the bottom phases are then examined. In order to understand the effect of relative hydrophobicity of the phases in equilibrium in the ATPSs on the extraction/separation capability of biomolecules, the partition coefficients of cytochrome-c (as a model biomolecule) in the ATPSs are measured by spectrophotometry. It is suggested that hydrophobic interactions are mainly responsible for the higher partition coefficients of cytochrome-c in aqueous two-phase systems at pH 14, and the extraction and separation capacity of biomolecules can be improved by the modulation of the relative hydrophobicity of the phases and/or the pH of the system.  相似文献

Colloidal copper has been obtained by -irradiation of aqueous solutions of copper (II) perchlorate in the presence of alcohol and polyethyleneimine (PEI). The sols are spherical particles about 4 nm in diameter, which are quickly oxidized by oxygen or other oxidants. When CuII is not entirely incorporated into the complex with PEI, disproportionation of CuI aqua complexes formed affords the metal, along with Cu2O. Reduction of the PEI complex of CuI by hydrated electrons gives only colloidal copper. The copper ions can be reduced on the surface of silver sols. Optical parameters of the resulting bimetallic particles have been studied. The presence of copper ions leads to broadening of the absorption band associated with the silver sols and shifts it to the UV region, which is due to the transfer of electrons from copper to silver. The aim of this paper is to study the measurement uncertainties reported in proficiency tests (PTs) using examples from PTs in the environmental sector and to compare the obtained measurement uncertainty estimates using different approaches. In addition, the paper focusses on the differences between the z-score and the zeta score. Since the year 2000, the Finnish Environment Institute has asked participants to report analytical methods as well as measurement uncertainties in connection with PT results. The measurement uncertainties of the assigned value have also been evaluated. On the basis of the results, the measurement uncertainties reported by the participants varied greatly. Participants often reported underestimated measurement uncertainties, but overestimated uncertainties were also reported. At the moment, it seems as if performance assessment should be based on the z-score because of a number of significant over- and underestimated measurement uncertainties. The zeta score should be used for information and educational purposes mainly.  相似文献
