Mid-infrared spectra of cyclopropene (c-C3H4) mixtures with HCl or BF3, dissolved in liquefied argon and in liquefied nitrogen have been examined. Evidence was found for the formation of two different isomers of the 1:1 complexes: a pi-type complex in which the interaction occurs with the pi-bond of cyclopropene, and a sigma-type complex in which the electron acceptors interact with one of the CC single bonds. At lower temperatures, indications for the formation of a 1:2 chain-type complex were found. Using spectra recorded between 90 and 124 K in liquid argon, the complexation enthalpies for the pi- and sigma-complexes with HCl were determined to be -8.8(3) and -7.9(3) kJ mol-1, respectively. For the pi-complex with BF3 a value of -7.4(3)kJ mol-1 was found. Structural and spectral information on the 1:1 complexes was obtained from B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) and MP2(FC)/6-31+G(d) calculations. Using Free Energy Perturbation Monte Carlo simulations to calculate the solvent influences, and statistical thermodynamics to account for zero-point vibrational and thermal contributions, the solution enthalpies were transformed into complexation energies with values of -15.5(6) and -13.8(8) kJ mol-1 for the pi- and sigma-isomers of c-C3H4.HCl, respectively, and of -12.7(8) kJ mol-1 for the pi-type BF3 complex.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations were carried out for the reactions of silane and halosilanes (SiH3X, X=H, Cl, Br, I) with HCN. Geometries of the reactants, transition states, intermediates and products were optimized at HF, MP2, and B3LYP levels of theory using the 6-31G(d) and 6-31G(d,p) basis sets. Energies were also obtained using G3MP2 and G3B3 levels of theory. Intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculations were performed to characterize the transition states on the potential energy surface. It was found that HCN can react with silane and halosilanes via three different mechanisms. One involves HX elimination by a one-step pathway producing SiH3CN. The second mechanism consists of H2 elimination, producing SiH2XCN via a one-step pathway or three multiple-step pathways. The third mechanism involves dissociation of SiH3X to various products, which can then react with HCN. Activation energies, enthalpies, and free energies of activation along with the thermodynamic properties (DeltaE, DeltaH, and DeltaG) of each reaction pathway were calculated. The reaction of SiH3X with HCN produce different products depending on substituent X. We have found that the standard 6-31G(d) bromine basis set gave results which were in better agreement with the G3MP2 results than for the Binning-Curtiss basis set. Computed heats of formation (DeltaHf) for SiH3CN, SiH3NC, SiH2ClCN, SiH2BrCN, SiH2ICN, SiHCl, SiHBr, and SiHI were found to be 133.5, 150.8, -34.4, 23.6, 102.4, 48.7, 127.1, and 179.8 kJ mol-1, respectively. From enthalpies calculated at G3MP2, we predict that the DeltaHf for SiH2 to be 262.8 kJ mol-1 compared to the experimental value of 273.8+/-4.2 kJ mol-1.  相似文献

The standard (p degrees = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation in the condensed phase of all the fluoroanilines, with the exception of the 2,3,5-trifluoroaniline compound, were derived from the standard molar energies of combustion in oxygen at T = 298.15 K, measured by rotating bomb combustion calorimetry. Calvet high-temperature vacuum sublimation experiments were performed to measure their enthalpies of vaporization or sublimation. These experiments allowed the determination of the standard molar enthalpies of formation in the gaseous phase and at T = 298.15 K. These values are also compared with estimates based on G3MP2B3 and BP86/6-31+G(d) computations, which have been extended also to the fluoroaniline that was not studied experimentally. The results are in close agreement with a mean deviation of approximately 3 kJ.mol-1. The largest difference between experimental and G3MP2B3 values is found for the pentafluoroaniline (-7.0 kJ.mol-1). For the three monofluoroanilines, the composite approach has been used also to compute gas-phase acidities, electron and proton affinities, ionization enthalpies and N-H bond dissociation enthalpies. The computed values compare well with available experimental results supporting the new computed data.  相似文献

The formation of weakly bound molecular complexes between dimethyl ether (DME) and the trifluoromethyl halides CF3Cl, CF3Br and CF3I dissolved in liquid argon and in liquid krypton is investigated, using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. For all halides evidence is found for the formation of C? X???O halogen‐bonded 1:1 complexes. At higher concentrations of CF3Br, a weak absorption due to a 1:2 complex is also observed. Using spectra recorded at temperatures between 87 and 125 K, the complexation enthalpies for the complexes are determined to be ?6.8(3) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3Cl), ?10.2(1) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3Br), ?15.5(1) kJ mol?1 (DME?CF3I), and ?17.8(5) kJ mol?1 [DME(?CF3Br)2]. Structural and spectral information on the complexes is obtained from ab initio calculations at the MP2/ 6‐311++G(d,p) and MP2/6‐311++G(d,p)+LanL2DZ* levels. By applying Monte Carlo free energy perturbation calculations to account for the solvent influences, and statistical thermodynamics to estimate the zero‐point vibrational and thermal influences, the ab initio complexation energies are converted into complexation enthalpies for the solutions in liquid argon. The resulting values are compared with the experimental data deduced from the cryosolutions.  相似文献

Standard state enthalpies and free energies of formation can be computed with reasonable accuracy (usually within 4 and often 2 kJ/mol) using high level model chemistries. A comparison set of nearly 300 organic compounds ranging from 1 to 10 carbon atoms having a variety of functional groups for which enthalpy and free energy literature values are available has been examined using G2, G2MP2, G3, G3MP2, G3B3, G3MP2B3, CBS-QB3, and density functional (B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)) model chemistries. G3 gives an average mean absolute deviation of 3.0 and 13.4 kJ/mol for the enthalpies and free energies, respectively, using the atomization method and 3.1 and 3.7 kJ/mol when bond separation reactions are employed. G3 and G3B3 are the most accurate overall; the related G3MP2 and G3MP2B3 are nearly as accurate and can compute larger molecules. CBS-QB3 was also found to be accurate but is more limited in the size of molecules that can be computed. The density functional energies were found to have large deviations from the literature values using either the atomization or the bond separation method. Regardless of the model employed, the free energies are increasingly underestimated by computation as the size of the molecule increases. A series of corrections applied to the aliphatic hydrocarbons is presented, which usually reduces the deviations to less than 4 kJ/mol regardless of the size of the molecule.  相似文献

Exchange of guest molecules into capsule shaped host molecules is the most fundamental process in host-guest chemistry. Several examples of quantitative measurements of guest exchange rates have been reported. However, there have been no reports on the activation energies of these processes. A molecule known as cavitand-porphyrin (H2CP) has been reported to have a flexible host structure capable of facilitating moderate guest exchange rates suitable for kinetic measurements of the guest exchange process with 1H NMR. In this article, various kinetic and thermodynamic parameters related to the process of encapsulation of small hydrocarbons into H2CP in CDCl3 solution were determined by 2D exchange spectroscopy (EXSY): association and dissociation rate constants (k(ass) = 320 M-1 s-1, k(diss) = 1.4 s-1 for methane at 25 degrees C), the corresponding activation energies (E(a,ass) = 27 kJ.mol-1, E(a,diss) = 58 kJ.mol-1), and thermodynamic parameters for each process (DeltaG++(ass) = 59 kJ.mol-1, DeltaG++(diss) = 72 kJ.mol-1, DeltaH++(ass) = 25 kJ.mol-1, DeltaH++(diss) = 55 kJ.mol-1, DeltaS++(ass) = -113 J.K-1.mol-1, and DeltaH++(diss) = 58 J.K-1.mol-1 for methane). The thermodynamic parameters (DeltaG degrees = -13 kJ.mol-1, DeltaH degrees = -31 kJ.mol-1, DeltaS degrees = -60 J.K-1.mol-1 for methane) for this encapsulation equilibrium determined by EXSY were comparable to those for methane determined by 1D 1H NMR titration (DeltaG degrees = -11 kJ.mol-1, DeltaH degrees = -33 kJ.mol-1, DeltaS degrees = -75 J.K-1.mol-1 for methane). In addition, the structure of the methane encapsulation process was revealed by ab initio MO calculations. The activation energies for methane association/dissociation were estimated from MP2 calculations (E(a,ass) = 58.3 kJ.mol-1, E(a,diss) = 89.1 kJ.mol-1, and DeltaH degrees = -30.8 kJ.mol-1). These values are in accord with the experimentally determined values. The observed guest exchange rates and energies are compared with the corresponding values of various reported capsule-shaped hosts.  相似文献

The mechanism for the deamination of guanine with H(2)O, OH(-), H(2)O/OH(-) and for GuaH(+) with H(2)O has been investigated using ab initio calculations. Optimized geometries of the reactants, transition states, intermediates, and products were determined at RHF/6-31G(d), MP2/6-31G(d), B3LYP/6-31G(d), and B3LYP/6-31+G(d) levels of theory. Energies were also determined at G3MP2, G3MP2B3, G4MP2, and CBS-QB3 levels of theory. Intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculations were performed to characterize the transition states on the potential energy surface. Thermodynamic properties (ΔE, ΔH, and ΔG), activation energies, enthalpies, and Gibbs free energies of activation were also calculated for each reaction investigated. All pathways yield an initial tetrahedral intermediate and an intermediate in the last step that dissociates to products via a 1,3-proton shift. At the G3MP2 level of theory, deamination with OH(-) was found to have an activation energy barrier of 155 kJ mol(-1) compared to 187 kJ mol(-1) for the reaction with H(2)O and 243 kJ mol(-1) for GuaH(+) with H(2)O. The lowest overall activation energy, 144 kJ mol(-1) at the G3MP2 level, was obtained for the deamination of guanine with H(2)O/OH(-). Due to a lack of experimental results for guanine deamination, a comparison is made with those of cytosine, whose deamination reaction parallels that of guanine.  相似文献

FTIR spectra of mixtures of fluoroform (F3CH) and ammonia (NH3), have been studied in liquid xenon between 5400 and 500 cm-1. Spectroscopic evidence for the formation of a hydrogen bonded complex has been found and the complexation enthalpy Delta(LXe)H degrees in the temperature interval between 173 and 215 K, was determined to be 14.4 (7) kJ mol-1. The parallel fundamentals nu1 and nu2 of ammonia reveal a strong narrowing effect upon complex formation, whereas the perpendicular fundamentals nu3 and nu4 show a modest decrease of their width. CP corrected ab initio calculations at the MP2(FULL)/6-311++G(3df,2pd) level predict a linear geometry for the complex, characterized by a small red shift of the CH stretch frequency of fluoroform. The ab initio interaction energy was found to be compatible with the isolated molecule complexation energy extrapolated from the experimental Delta(LXe)H degrees .  相似文献

Using FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, the formation of halogen bonded complexes of the trifluorohalomethanes CF(3)Cl, CF(3)Br and CF(3)I with ethene and propene dissolved in liquid argon has been investigated. For CF(3)Br and CF(3)I, evidence was found for the formation of C-X···π halogen bonded 1:1 complexes. At a higher ratio of CF(3)I/propene, weak absorptions due to a 2:1 complex were also observed. Using spectra recorded at different temperatures, the complexation enthalpies for the complexes were determined to be -5.3(2) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)Br·ethene, -7.5(2) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)I·ethene, -5.6(1) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)Br·propene, -8.8(1) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)I·propene and -16.5(6) kJ mol(-1) for (CF(3)I·)(2)propene. The complexation enthalpies of the hydrogen bonded counterparts, with CF(3)H as the Lewis acid, were determined to be -4.6(4) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)H·ethene and -5.1(2) kJ mol(-1) for CF(3)H·propene. For both hydrogen bonded complexes, a blue shift, by +4.8 and +4.0 cm(-1), respectively, was observed for the C-H stretching mode. The results from the cryospectroscopic study are compared with ab initio calculations at the MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ(-PP) level.  相似文献

Computational quantum theory is employed to determine the thermochemical properties of n-alkyl nitro and nitrite compounds: methyl and ethyl nitrites, CH3ONO and C2H5ONO, plus nitromethane and nitroethane, CH3NO2 and C2H5NO2, at 298.15 K using multilevel G3, CBS-QB3, and CBS-APNO composite methods employing both atomization and isodesmic reaction analysis. Structures and enthalpies of the corresponding aci-tautomers are also determined. The enthalpies of formation for the most stable conformers of methyl and ethyl nitrites at 298 K are determined to be -15.64 +/- 0.10 kcal mol-1 (-65.44 +/- 0.42 kJ mol-1) and -23.58 +/- 0.12 kcal mol-1 (-98.32 +/- 0.58 kJ mol-1), respectively. DeltafHo(298 K) of nitroalkanes are correspondingly evaluated at -17.67 +/- 0.27 kcal mol-1 (-74.1 +/- 1.12 kJ mol-1) and -25.06 +/- 0.07 kcal mol-1 (-121.2 +/- 0.29 kJ mol-1) for CH3NO2 and C2H5NO2. Enthalpies of formation for the aci-tautomers are calculated as -3.45 +/- 0.44 kcal mol-1 (-14.43 +/- 0.11 kJ mol-1) for aci-nitromethane and -14.25 +/- 0.44 kcal mol-1 (-59.95 +/- 1.84 kJ mol-1) for the aci-nitroethane isomers, respectively. Data are evaluated against experimental and computational values in the literature with recommendations. A set of thermal correction parameters to atomic (H, C, N, O) enthalpies at 0 K is developed, to enable a direct calculation of species enthalpy of formation at 298.15 K, using atomization reaction and computation outputs.  相似文献

对BeH2与HX(X=F, Cl, Br, I)形成的二氢键复合物的结构特征及本质进行了探讨. 在MP2/6-311++G(3d,3p)水平优化、频率验证, 得到复合物的分子结构, 用分子间距离及电子密度拓扑理论确认BeH2与卤化氢已形成了二氢键型复合物. 在MP2/6-311++G(3d, 3p)水平下进行基函数重叠误差(BSSE)校正后的结合能在-14.468 kJ·mol-1到-5.464 kJ·mol-1之间.用对称匹配微扰理论(SAPT)对复合物的结合能进行分解, 结果表明, BeH2…HX二氢键复合物中静电能对总吸引能的贡献都是最主要的, 但交换排斥能、诱导能、色散能对总结合能的贡献也很重要. 从BeH2…HF到BeH2…HI, 诱导能对总吸引能的贡献从37.8%逐渐减小到24.0%. 而色散能对总吸引能的贡献从BeH2…HF体系中的16.0%逐渐增加到BeH2…HI体系中的33.8%.  相似文献

We report an ab initio computational study of the properties of two linear dihydrogen-bonded complexes of HBeH with the recently discovered rare gas compounds HArF and HKrF at the MP2(full)/6-311++G(2d,2p) level of theory. The HBeH ... HArF and HBeH ... HKrF complexes were found to have zero-point energy corrected binding energies of 27 and 12 kJ mol(-1), respectively. Large red shifts of the H-Rg vibrational stretching frequency in both complexes were also predicted. The electron density rearrangement of the rare gas compounds on complexation was also examined. We also consider the relative stabilities of D-containing isotopomers of the complexes by comparison of their computed zero-point vibrational energies.  相似文献
