Cross section production is one of the observable quantities in the hadronic systems. Inclusive cross section production J/ψ may be calculated through the use of the fragmentation c → J/ψ. In this paper we calculate the inclusive cross section production J/ψ about the pole of Z~0 in the e~+e~- annihilation, through the lowest order regim of perturbative of QCD ananlyticaly. The obtained results arrive an excellent agreement with the exprimental data to produce the inclusive cross section production c → J/ψ.  相似文献

In this paper, the J/ψ nuclear absorption effect is studied at RHIC and LHC energies with the EKS98 shadowing parameterizations. By assuming that the J/ψ absorption cross section, σ abs , increases with the charmonium-nucleon (J/ψ-N) center of mass energy, s J/ψN , it is found that σ abs should depend on x F (or y) at a certain center of mass energy per nucleon pair,s , especially at LHC energies. The theoretical results with the x F (or y)-dependence of the absorption effect are in good agreement with the experiment data from PHENIX in d-Au collisions and the predicted results will be examined by the forthcoming experimental data from LHC in d-Pb collisions. Finally, we also present baseline calculations of cold nuclear matter effects on J/ψ production in nucleus-nucleus (A-A) collisions and find that the x F (or y)-dependence of absorption effect is very small at both RHIC and LHC energies in A-A collisions.  相似文献

The energy loss effect of incoming gluons from J/ψ production in p-A(or d-A) collisions is investigated by means of the E866, RHIC and LHC experimental data. The gluon mean energy loss per unit path length d E/d L = 2.18 ± 0.14 Ge V/fm is extracted by fitting the E866 experimental data for J/ψ production cross section ratios R W(Fe)/Be(x F). The obtained result indicates that the incoming gluons lose more energy than the incident quarks. By comparing the theoretical results with E866, RHIC, and LHC experimental data, it is found that the nuclear suppression due to the incident gluon(quark) energy loss reduces(increases) with the increase of the kinematic variable x F(or y). The energy loss effect of incoming gluons plays an important role in the suppression of J/ψ production in a wide energy range from√s = 38.7 Ge V to√s = 5.0 Te V, and the influence of incident quark energy loss can be ignored for high energies(such as at RHIC and LHC energy).  相似文献

The topcolour-assisted technicolour (TC2) model is an interesting dynamical theory among the various new physics models. We cMculate the total tt cross section and the relative correction of the TC2 model to the cross section at Tevatron Run Ⅱ and LHC. At the Tevatron Run Ⅱ, the cross section predicted by the standard model (SM) is consistent with the experimental data, and in most parameter spaces of the TC2 model, the relative correction of the TC2 model to the cross section is too small to be detectable. We find that the tt cross section is more sensitive to the parameters of the TC2 model at the LHC and the relative correction of the TC2 model to the cross section is over 10% in general. Such a value of the relative correction should be large enough to be detectable at the LHC. Therefore, it is promising to find the clue of the TC2 model via the tt production at the LHC.  相似文献

A measurement of the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESⅢ detector in 2009 and 2012 is performed using inclusive decays of the J/ψ. The number of J/ψ events taken in 2009 is recalculated to be(223.7±1.4)×10~6, which is in good agreement with the previous measurement, but with significantly improved precision due to improvements in the BESⅢ software. The number of J/ψ events taken in 2012 is determined to be(1086.9±6.0)×10~6. In total, the number of J/ψ events collected with the BESⅢ detector is measured to be(1310.6±7.0)×106, where the uncertainty is dominated by systematic effects and the statistical uncertainty is negligible.  相似文献

We propose to use transverse momentum p_T distribution of J/ψ production at the future Electron Ion Collider(EIC) to explore the production mechanism of heavy quarkonia in high energy collisions. We apply QCD and QED collinear factorization to the production of a cc pair at high p_T,and non-relativistic QCD factorization to the hadronization of the pair to a J/ψ.We evaluate J/ψ p_T-distribution at both leading and next-to-leading order in strong coupling, and show that production rates for various color-spin channels of a cc pair in electronhadron collisions are very different from that in hadron-hadron collisions, which provides a strong discriminative power to determine various transition rates for the pair to become a J/ψ.We predict that the J/ψ produced in electron-hadron collisions is likely unpolarized, and the production is an ideal probe for gluon distribution of colliding hadron(or nucleus). We find that the J/ψ production is dominated by the color-octet channel, providing an excellent probe to explore the gluon medium in large nuclei at the EIC.  相似文献

We present a study of associated ηc and γ double diffractive production in p-p collision based on Ingelman-Schlein model, and the framework of non-relativistic QCD factorization formalism for quarkonia production. The predic-tion of ηc and γ is more reliable than J/ψ production, because the associated ηc and γ production is a pure color-octetprocess, and the dominant contribution comes from color octet 1So(8) subprocess, which is related to the color octet matrixelement of 1So(8) of J/ψ by the heavy quark spin symmetry and the large PT J/ψ production data. We find that the ratioof diffractive to inclusive cross sections is independent of the values of color octet matrix elements, but is sensitive to thegluon factor of the Pomeron and renormalized Pomeron flux factors. So experimental measurement of this ratio can giveus more information of the nature of Pomeron and test the assumption of hard diffractive factorization in hadron-hadron collisions.  相似文献

Using J/ψ decays collected with the BES Ⅲ detector, Lundcharm model parameters are optimized with J/ψlight hadron decays. The dependence of the response function on model parameters is approximated up to the quadratic term, and the model parameters are optimized by simultaneously fitting J/ψ inclusive charged track distributions and event shapes. The Monte Carlo simulations show that optimal parameters yield satisfactory MC distributions as compared to both the J/ψ and ψ(2S) data distributions. These optimal values are suggested for the Lundcharm model to produce J/ψ and ψ(2S) decays to light hadrons.  相似文献

We present a study of associated ηc and γ double diffractive production in pp^- collision based on Ingelman-Schlein model, and the framework of non-relativistic QOD factorization formalism for quarkonia production. The prediction of ηc and γ is more reliable than J/ψ production, because the associated ηc and γ production is a pure color-octet process, and the dominant contribution comes from color octet ^1S0^(8) subprocess, which is related to the color octet matrix element of ^1S0(8) of J/ψ by the heavy quark spin symmetry and the large PT J/ψ production data. We find that the ratio of diffractive to inclusive cross sections is independent of the values of color octet matrix elements, but is sensitive to the gluon factor of the Pomeron and renormalized Pomeron flux factors. So experimental measurement of this ratio can give us more information of the nature of Pomeron and test the assumption of hard diffractive factorization in hadron-hadron collisions.  相似文献

We have measured the cross section for π+π- production in two-photon collisions using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 85.9 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector. The f0(980) resonance is observed as a peak in the energy spectrum of the cross section. We also report preliminary results for γγ→π0π0 with two-photon center-of-mass energies ranging from 0.6 to 4.0 GeV, based on a 95 fb-1 data sample. We find at least four resonant structures including a peak from f0(980). In addition, there is evidence for Xc0 production. We also make a preliminary discussion of the angular dependence and cross section ratio of γγ→π+π- and γγ→π0π0.  相似文献

One of the first physics results that CMS will hopefully obtain will be the analysis of heavy quarkonium productions, including the Υ cross-section measurement. Since the Υ production cross-section from p-p collisions is expected to be relatively large, the analysis should be viable with rather small datasets which will be available soon after the start-up of the LHC. This paper describes the methods and plans for measuring the differential cross-section of Y(1S) →μ^+μ- production, by using data to be collected from the CMS detector in the first LHC run. In this study, about 80 thousand Υ are reconstructed corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.4 pb^-1 in 10 TeV proton-proton collisions by using Monte Carlo data. The precision of this measurement is estimated to be about 16%, which is limited by the systematic errors.  相似文献

We report new measurements of the cross sections for the production of DD final states at theψ(3770)resonance.Our data sample consists of an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb~(-1)of e~+e~-annihilation data produced by the BEPCⅡ collider and collected and analyzed with the BESⅢ detector. We exclusively reconstruct three D~0and six D~+hadronic decay modes and use the ratio of the yield of fully reconstructed DD events("double tags")to the yield of all reconstructed D or D mesons("single tags")to determine the number of D~0 D~0and D~+D~-events,benefiting from the cancellation of many systematic uncertainties.Combining these yields with an independent determination of the integrated luminosity of the data sample,we find the cross sections to beσ(e~+e~-→D~0D~0)=(3.615±0.010±0.038)nb andσ(e~+e~-→D~+D~-)=(2.830±0.011±0.026)nb,where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.  相似文献

The precision study of W~-W~+H production with subsequent W~±→l~±_v_l~((-)) and H→bb decays at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) aids in the investigation of Higgs gauge couplings and the search for new physics beyond the standard model. In this study,we calculate the shower-matched next-to-leading order QCD and electroweak(EW)corrections from the qq annihilation and photon-induced channels to the W~-W~+H production at the 14 TeV LHC.We deal with the subsequent decays of Higgs and W~± bosons by adopting the MADSPIN method. Both the integrated cross section and some kinematic distributions of W~±,H,and their decay products are provided. We find that the QCD correction significantly enhances the leading-order differential cross section, while the EW correction from the qq annihilation channel obviously suppresses it,especially in the high energy phase-space region, due to the Sudakov effect. The qy-and yy-induced relative corrections are positive and insensitive to the transverse momenta of W~±,H,and their decay products. These photon-induced corrections compensate the negative qq-initiated EW correction, and become the dominant EW contribution as the increment of the pp colliding energy. The parton shower(PS) effects on kinematic distributions are not negligible. The relative PS correction to the b-jet transverse momentum distribution can exceed 100% in the high p_(T,b) region. Moreover,we investigate the scale and PDF uncertainties, and find that the theoretical error of the QCD+EW+qγ+γγ-corrected integrated cross section mainly originates from the renormalization scale dependence of the QCD correction.  相似文献

We investigate the cross section of the heavy ion reaction (14.5 MeV/u) ^132Xe + Bi by using a CR-39 plastic track detector. The target-detector assembly is exposed at UNILAC beam facility of GSI, Germany. After etching under appropriate etching conditions, the detector is scanned for multipronged events produced as a result of interactions of projectile ions with target atoms. The elastic events are separated from binary events and used for the determination of the quarter-point angle. The quarter-point angle obtained is used to determine the total reaction cross section. The total experimental reaction cross section is determined by using statistics of inelastic events of two-pronged and higher multiplicity events. The experimental reaction cross sections determined by using elastic and inelastic data observed in the reaction under study are found to be in good agreement with the theoretically calculated value of reaction cross section using a sharp cutoff model.  相似文献

Significant enhancements of J/ψ production at very low transverse momenta were recently observed by the ALICE and STAR collaborations in peripheral hadronic A+A collisions. The anomalous excess points to coherent photon-nucleus interactions in violent hadronic heavy-ion collisions, which were conventionally studied only in ultra-peripheral collisions. Assuming that the coherent photoproduction is the underlying mechanism responsible for the excess observed in peripheral A+A collisions, its contribution in p+p collisions with nuclear overlap, i.e. nonsingle-diffractive collisions, is of particular interest. In this paper, we perform a calculation of exclusive J/ψ photoproduction in non-single-diffractive p+p collisions at the RHIC and LHC energies based on the pQCD motivated parametrization using the world-wide experimental data, which could be further employed to improve the precision of the phenomenological calculations for photoproduction in A+A collisions. The differential rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of J/ψ from photoproduction are presented. In comparison with the J/ψ production from hadronic interactions, we find that the contribution of photoproduction is negligible.  相似文献

The process e+e-→J/ψ+X with the center-of-mass(CM)energy in the range from 3.7 to 10.6 GeV is calculated up to the next-to-leading order(NLO)in quantum chromodynamics(QCD).At 10.6 GeV,the result is consistent with the experimental result from Belle. However, the predictions are much smaller than the background in the measurements at BESIII in the low CM energy range from 3.7 to 4.6 GeV.This indicates that the convergence of the QCD perturbative expansion becomes worse as the CM energy is closer to the inclusive J/ψ production threshold. For a further study of the QCD mechanism of J/ψ production in e~+e~-collisions with different CM energies, the initial state radiation effect of e~+e~-→J/ψ +gg and e~+e~-→J/ψ+cc are calculated in QCD NLO.The results are plotted and the number of events for different CM energy bins are provided for SuperKEKB.This provides a method to precisely test the validity of perturbative predictions for J/ψ production in future measurements.  相似文献

We study the decay process of J/ψ→e~+e~-φ where the relatively clean electromagnetic(EM) transitions appear at leading order at tree level while the hadronic contributions only emerge via hadronic loop transitions. We include the low-lying scalar f_0(980) and pseudoscalar η/η as the dominant contributions in the evaluation of the hadronic loop contributions. It is found that the hadronic effects are negligible compared with the EM contributions. The decay width of J/ψ→e~+e~-φ is determined to be about 2.12 × 10~(-6) ke V if there is no other leading mechanism contributing. This result will be tested by the BESIII experiment with a large J/ψ data sample.  相似文献
