An Efficient Synthesis of 2-Oxazolidinones by Palladium-catalyzed Oxidative Carbonylation of β-Aminoalcohols and 2-Aminophenol under Mild Conditions

Oxidative carbonylation of β-aminoalcohols and 2-aminophenol in Pd(OAc)2/I2 catalytic system to produce the corresponding 2-oxazolidinones was conducted with high yields and selectivities in short reaction time. Mild reaction conditions, high catalytic turnover frequency value, improved yields and selectivities are the remarkable features exhibited by this process.     

An improved procedure for the synthesis of 4-methylimidazol-2-one

A novel one-pot synthetic method of 4-methylimidazol-2-one is described. The target compound is conveniently synthesized from sodium diformylamide, a modified Gabriel reagent prepared, through condensation, hydrolyzation and cyclization reactions without separating intermediates, its total yield is 75.8%.     

A green synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones by Biginelli reaction over Nafion-H catalyst

A Nafion-H catalyzed, single step and environmentally friendly process for synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones is described. This adopted protocol for Biginelli reaction has the advantages of reusability of the catalyst, high yields and ease of separation of pure products.     

Synthesis of Conjugated Polyphenylene Dendritic β-Diketones

An efficient synthesis of high generation conjugated polyphenylene dendrimer-based β-diketones was investi- gated using simple synthetic methods. The new dendrimer-based β-diketones were characterized by NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra of these β-diketones in different solvents were investigated The photoluminescent （PL） quantum yield and TG and DSC curves were also investigated. A new intermediate, 1-bromo-3,5-diiodobenzene, was developed to synthesize high generation dendrimers with good yields.

Pd（OAc）2 catalyzed synthesis of heteroaryl-substituted 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives via C-N-coupling reactions of chloronaphthyridines

An efficient route to synthesize the heteroaryl-substituted 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives was described.Eight 2-heteroaryl-and 2,7-diheteroaryl-1,8-naphthyridine derivatives were obtained through palladium-catalyzed C-N-coupling reactions of chloro-naphthyridines with imidazole,benzimidazole,morpholine,3,5-dimethylpyrazole,and phthalimide in moderate to good yields.

Synthesis of 2-Acyl-2H-1,2,3-diazaphospholes and Their Diels-Alder Reaction with Cyclopentadiene

2H-1,2,3-Diazaphospholes 3a-3h were prepared from various ketone acylhydrazones and phosphorus trichloride in the presence of triethylamine. Compounds 3 underwent feasible hetero-Diels-Alder reactions with cyclopentadiene to afford the respective anellated [1,2,3]diazaphospholes 4a--4d as well as 4a‘--4d‘ in moderate yields. The endo rule in the reaction was observed under kinetic control conditions.     

A convenient synthesis of 6-demethoxycapillarisin

A convenient and effective method for the synthesis of 6-demethoxycapillarisin was described.The highlight was involved in asimple access to the key intermediate 2-ethylthio-5,7-dimethoxy-4H-chromen-4-one from the inexpensive 2,4,6-trihydroxyacetophenone,using AlCl3 as the demethylation reagent.     

Sunlight-driven synthesis of γ-diketones via oxidative coupling of enamines with silyl enol ethers catalyzed by [Ru(bpy)3]2+

A photosensitizer [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) catalyzes oxidative coupling reaction of enamines with silyl enol ethers under visible light irradiation by a Xe lamp or sunlight to produce γ-diketones. A 2e-oxidation process involved in this reaction is achieved by a combination of the photoexcited [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) species and duroquinone, a 2e-acceptor.

Synthesis of 5-Fluoroalkyl Isoxazolidines via 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Ethyl 2-Hydropolyfluoroalk-2-enoates with Nitrones

1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions of ethyl 2-hydropolyfluoroalk-2-enoates (1) with some nitrones were described. The reaction of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline N-oxide (2) with 1 took place readily in methylene chloride at room temperature to give the corresponding 5-fluoroalkylisoxazolidines regioselectively as a mixture of two diastereoisomers (trans and cis) in high yields, while longer reaction time and higher temperature were needed in the case of non-cyclic nitrones. Under similar conditions the reaction of quinoline N-oxide (14) with 1 did not give the expected adducts and a ring-opening product was obtained.
