An efficient fluorescent Al(3+) receptor, N-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalene)-N'-(2-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalene)amino-ethyl)-ethane-1,2-diamine (L) has been synthesized by the condensation reaction between 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde and diethylenetriamine. High selectivity and affinity of L towards Al(3+) in ethanol (EtOH) as well as in HEPES buffer at pH 7.4, makes it suitable to detect intracellular Al(3+) with fluorescence microscopy. Metal ions, viz. Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Ag(+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+) and Pb(2+) do not interfere. The lowest detection limit for Al(3+) is 3.0 × 10(-7) M and 1.0 × 10(-7) M in EtOH and HEPES buffer respectively.  相似文献

A new 2,6-bis(5,6-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-c]quinazolin-6-yl)-4-methylphenol (1) serves as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent probe for Zn(2+) in a HEPES buffer (50 mM, DMSO:water = 1:9 (v/v), pH = 7.2) at 25 °C. The increase in fluorescence in the presence of Zn(2+) is accounted for by the formation of dinuclear Zn(2+) complex [Zn(2)(C(35)H(25)N(6)O)(OH)(NO(3))(2)(H(2)O)] (2), characterized by X-ray crystallography. The fluorescence quantum yield of the chemosensor 1 is only 0.019, and it increases more than 12-fold (0.237) in the presence of 2 equiv of the zinc ion. Interestingly, the introduction of other metal ions causes the fluorescence intensity to be either unchanged or weakened. By incubation of cultured living cells (A375 and HT-29) with the chemosensor 1, intracellular Zn(2+) concentrations could be monitored through selective fluorescence chemosensing.  相似文献

A new iminocoumarin based receptor L (C(27)H(26)N(4)OS) is synthesized with pyridyl and benzothiazolyl functionality. Synthesis of L is easy and it is isolated in good yield. L shows a selective and distinct color change from yellow to orange with Cu(2+) over Li(+), Na(+), Ca(2+), Mg(2+), Cr(2+), Mn(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Pb(2+), and Ag(+) whereas a slight change in color is also observed in the case of Hg(2+) but L shows selective fluorescent quenching only in the presence of Cu(2+) in aqueous HEPES buffer (pH 7.0). The naked eye detection limit of Cu(2+) is determined at 2 μM whereas an emission experiment shows a lower detection limit at 200 nM. Selectivity studies of L in presence of 50 equivalents of other ion(s) by emission experiment show no interference toward the detection of 1 equivalent of Cu(2+). Both UV-Vis and fluorescence studies in the presence of Cu(2+)-salts of different counter anions with various sizes and shapes (Cl(-), ClO(4)(-), NO(3)(-), CF(3)SO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-) and BF(4)(-)) show almost similar spectral output in buffer media irrespective of the nature of the counter anions. The detailed UV-Vis and fluorescence titration experiments suggest the existence of both 1:1 and 2:1 (L:Cu(2+)) complexation stoichiometry and EPR study shows d(x(2)-y(2)) ground state of the Cu(II) centre in the complex. Furthermore the formation of a mononuclear [Cu(L)(CH(3)CN)].2ClO(4) complex and the flexible conformation of L in the solid state are confirmed by the single-crystal X-ray structural study.  相似文献

A method is described for the fluorimetric determination of zinc, based on formation of a zinc-morin complex in the presence of a non-ionic surfactant. The complex has practically no fluorescence in the absence of surfactant, but the addition of Genapol PF-20 (non-ionic surfactant, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide condensate) makes possible the fluorimetric determination of low concentrations of zinc as it enhances the fluorescence of the complex about 75-fold. Maximum fluorescence is produced at pH 4.7 +/- 0.2 (acetic acid-acetate buffer), with 1.5% surfactant and 0.009% morin. The fluorescence is excited at 433 nm and measured at 503 nm. The calibration graph is linear up to 150 ng/ml zinc concentration and the detection limit is 3 ng/ml. The relative standard deviation (11 replicates) is 2.4% for zinc at 20 ng/ml concentration and 1.7% for 100 ng/ml. Of 29 ions studied, Al(3+), Be(2+), Zr(4+) and Cd(2+) strongly increase the fluorescence of the system, and Fe(3+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Ti(IV) and Co(2+) decrease the fluorescence signal.  相似文献

A gold nanorod (AuNR) based colorimetric probe was reported for the rapid and selective detection of Cu(2+) ions. The probe was fabricated by functionalizing cysteine (Cys) onto AuNR (Cys-AuNR) with an aspect ratio of 2.3. The strong coordination of Cu(2+) with cysteine resulted in a stable Cys-Cu-Cys complex, and induced the aggregation of the colloidal nanorods along with a rapid colour change from blue-green to dark gray. Potential factors affecting the performance of the probe for the detection of Cu(2+) were carefully optimized, including the pH value of the buffer media, the concentration of cysteine, and the kinetics for the coordination of Cu(2+) with Cys-AuNR. Under optimal conditions, the developed colorimetric method gave a linear range of 1-100 μM for Cu(2+), and a detection limit (3s) of 0.34 μM. Moreover, the developed method exhibited excellent selectivity for Cu(2+), and quantitative spike-recoveries from 90% to 107% in environmental water samples. The proposed colorimetric approach can in principle be used to detect other metal ions by functionalizing various specific ligands onto the AuNR that can selectively bind the other target metal ions.  相似文献

The use of hematoxylin and hematein as metallochromic indicators in direct EDTA titration of Zr(4+), Th(4+), Bi(3+), VO(+), Ga(3+), In(3+), Al(3+), Pb(+), Zn(2+), Mn(2+), Cd(2+), Cu(2+), Ni(2+), Co(2+), Mg(2+), and a few rare earths is described. Aluminium is titrated directly in presence of acetate buffer, lactic or glycoliic acid being used as auxiliary complexing agent. Mixtures of two metal ions can be titrated if one is Bi(3+) and the other Al(3+), Pb(2+), Zn(2+), Cu(2+), Cd(2+), La(3+), Ce(3+), Pr(3+), Nd(3+), Sm(3+), Gd(3+) or Er(3+). Aluminium alloys can be analysed via EDTA titrations, with these indicators.  相似文献

Examples of a new type of cryptophane molecule incorporating aromatic groups in the bridges (1-4) and, for the first time, being also supplied with three endo-positional ionizable carboxylic acid functions (1) have been synthesized and characterized. The cryptophane triester 2 yielded a solvate (channel inclusion compound) with trichloromethane and water, the X-ray crystal structure of which is reported. The complexation of 1 with low-molecular-weight alcohols in solution was studied, and the liquid-liquid extraction of different metal ions including alkali (Na(+), Cs(+)), alkaline earth (Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Sr(2+), Ba(2+)), and the lanthanide metal ions Eu(3+) and Yb(3+) in an extraction system containing metal nitrate buffer/H(2)O/1/CHCl(3) was examined. Molecular modeling calculations of the cryptophanes 1 and 2, and of the Eu(3+) complex of 1 were carried out contributing to the discussion.  相似文献

We report a simple twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) chromogenic chemosensor for rapid and selective detection of Hg(2+) and Cu(2+). The sensor was composed of an electron-acceptor 4-fluoro moiety and an electron-donor 7-mercapto-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole species where the S together with the 1-N provided the soft binding unit. Upon Hg(2+) and Cu(2+) complexation, remarkable but different absorbance spectra shifts were obtained in CH(3)CN-H(2)O mixed buffer solution at pH 7.6, which can be easily used for naked-eye detection. The sensor formed a stable 2:1 complex with Cu(2+), and both 2:1 and 3:1 complexes with Hg(2+). While alkali-, alkaline earth- and other heavy and transition metal ions such as Na(+), Mg(2+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Ag(+), Zn(2+), Pb(2+) and Cd(2+) did not cause any significant spectral changes of the sensor. This finding is not only a supplement to the detecting methods for Hg(2+) and Cu(2+), but also adds new merits to the chemistry of 4,7-substituted 2,1,3-benzoxadiazoles.  相似文献

Coupling T base with Hg(2+) to form stable T-Hg(2+)-T complexes represents a new direction in detection of Hg(2+). Here a graphene oxide (GO)-based fluorescence Hg(2+) analysis using DNA duplexes of poly(dT) that allows rapid, sensitive, and selective detection is first reported. The Hg(2+)-induced T(15)-(Hg(2+))(n)-T(15) duplexes make T(15) unable to hybridize with its complementary A(15) labelled with 6'-carboxyfluorescein (FAM-A(15)), which has low fluorescence in the presence of GO. On the contrary, when T(15) hybridizes with FAM-A(15) to form double-stranded DNA because of the absence of Hg(2+), the fluorescence largely remains in the presence of GO. A linear range from 10 nM to 2.0 μM (R(2) = 0.9963) and a detection limit of 0.5 nM for Hg(2+) were obtained under optimal experimental conditions. Other metal ions, such as Al(3+), Ag(+), Ca(2+), Ba(2+), Mg(2+), Zn(2+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Pb(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Cd(2+), Cr(3+), Fe(2+), and Fe(3+), had no significant effect on Hg(2+) detection. Moreover, the sensing system was used for the determination of Hg(2+) in river water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

In this study, an assay to quantify the presence of aluminum ions using a salicylimine-based receptor was developed utilizing turn-on fluorescence enhancement. Upon treatment with aluminum ions, the fluorescence of the sensor was enhanced at 510 nm due to formation of a 1:1 complex between the chemosensor and the aluminum ions at room temperature. As the concentration of Al(3+) was increased, the fluorescence gradually increased. Other metal ions, such as Na(+), Ag(+), K(+), Ca(2+), Mg(2+), Hg(2+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Pb(2+), Cr(3+), Fe(3+), and In(3+), had no such significant effect on the fluorescence. In addition, we show that the probe could be used to map intracellular Al(3+) distribution in live cells by confocal microscopy.  相似文献

2-((Naphthalen-6-yl)methylthio)ethanol (HL) was prepared by one pot synthesis using 2-mercaptoethanol and 2-bromomethylnaphthalene. It was found to be a highly selective fluorescent sensor for Al(3+) in the physiological pH (pH 7.0-8.0). It could sense Al(3+) bound to cells through fluorescence microscopy. Metal ions like Mn(2+), Fe(3+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Ag(+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+), Cr(3+) and Pb(2+) did not interfere. No interference was also observed with anions like Cl(-), Br(-), F(-), SO(4)(2-), NO(3)(-), CO(3)(2-), HPO(4)(2-) and SCN(-). Experimentally observed structural and spectroscopic features of HL and its Al(3+) complex have been substantiated by computational calculations using density functional theory (DFT) and time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT).  相似文献

A dual-signal sensing system based on the inner-filter effect (IFE) was demonstrated, in which the combination of two signaling mechanisms allows metal binding to turn on two fluorescence emission bands, independently. A proof-of-concept fluorescent ratiometric assay for Al(3+) in pure aqueous solution is presented. The proposed assay is based on the Al(3+)-induced color and fluorescence changes of Alizarin red S (ARS) and IFE between ARS and meso-tetra(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphine tetratosylate salt (TMPyP). In the absence of Al(3+), the absorption spectrum of the ARS in 0.2 M HAc-NaAc buffer (pH 5.5) has a strong peak at 420 nm, significantly overlapping with the excitation of TMPyP. ARS is expected to be capable of functioning as a powerful absorber to tune the emission of TMPyP on account of the spectral overlap. Binding of Al(3+) with ARS forms a fluorometric ARS/Al(3+) complex and shifts the maximum absorbance from 420 nm to 480 nm, which overlaps negligibly with the excitation of TMPyP and turns on the proper emission spectrum for TMPyP. Under the optimum conditions, The fluorescence intensity ratio, F(585)/F(651), responds to Al(3+) over a dynamic range of 0.1-1.5 μM, with a limit of detection of 40 nM, where F(585) and F(651) are the fluorescence intensity at 585 nm and 651 nm in the absence or presence of Al(3+), respectively. Further application in Al(3+)-spiked water samples suggested a recovery between 95 and 108%. The fluorescence response is highly selective for Al(3+) over other metal ions with the addition of thiourea as the masking agent.  相似文献

In the objective of developing ligands that simultaneously satisfy the requirements for MRI contrast agents and near-infrared emitting optical probes that are suitable for imaging, three isoquinoline-based polyaminocarboxylate ligands, L1, L2 and L3, have been synthesized and the corresponding Gd(3+), Nd(3+) and Yb(3+) complexes investigated. The specific challenge of the present work was to create NIR emitting agents which (i) have excitation wavelengths compatible with biological applications and (ii) are able to emit a sufficient number of photons to ensure sensitive NIR detection for microscopic imaging. Here we report the first observation of a NIR signal arising from a Ln(3+) complex in aqueous solution in a microscopy setup. The lanthanide complexes have high thermodynamic stability (log K(LnL) =17.7-18.7) and good selectivity for lanthanide ions versus the endogenous cations Zn(2+), Cu(2+), and Ca(2+) thus preventing transmetalation. A variable temperature and pressure (17)O NMR study combined with nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion measurements yielded the microscopic parameters characterizing water exchange and rotation. Bishydration of the lanthanide cation in the complexes, an important advantage to obtain high relaxivity for the Gd(3+) chelates, has been demonstrated by (17)O chemical shifts for the Gd(3+) complexes and by luminescence lifetime measurements for the Yb(3+) analogues. The water exchange on the three Gd(3+) complexes is considerably faster (k(ex)(298) = (13.9-15.4) × 10(6) s(-1)) than on commercial Gd(3+)-based contrast agents and proceeds via a dissociative mechanism, as evidenced by the large positive activation volumes for GdL1 and GdL2 (+10.3 ± 0.9 and +10.6 ± 0.9 cm(3) mol(-1), respectively). The relaxivity of GdL1 is doubled at 40 MHz and 298 K in fetal bovine serum (r(1) = 16.1 vs 8.5 mM(-1) s(-1) in HEPES buffer), due to hydrophobic interactions between the chelate and serum proteins. The isoquinoline core allows for the optimization of the optical properties of the luminescent lanthanide complexes in comparison to the pyridinic analogues and provides significant shifts of the excitation energies toward lower values which therefore become more adapted for biological applications. L2 and L3 bear two methoxy substituents on the aromatic core in ortho and para positions, respectively, that further modulate their electronic structure. The Nd(3+) and Yb(3+) complexes of the ligand L3, which incorporates the p-dimethoxyisoquinoline moiety, can be excited up to 420 nm. This wavelength is shifted over 100 nm toward lower energy in comparison to the pyridine-based analogue. The luminescence quantum yields of the Nd(3+) (0.013-0.016%) and Yb(3+) chelates (0.028-0.040%) are in the range of the best nonhydrated complexes, despite the presence of two inner sphere water molecules. More importantly, the 980 nm NIR emission band of YbL3 was detected with a good sensitivity in a proof of concept microscopy experiment at a concentration of 10 μM in fetal bovine serum. Our results demonstrate that even bishydrated NIR lanthanide complexes can emit a sufficient number of photons to ensure sensitive detection in practical applications. In particular, these ligands containing an aromatic core with coordinating pyridine nitrogen can be easily modified to tune the optical properties of the NIR luminescent lanthanide complexes while retaining good complex stability and MRI characteristics for the Gd(3+) analogues. They constitute a highly versatile platform for the development of bimodal MR and optical imaging probes based on a simple mixture of Gd(3+) and Yb(3+)/Nd(3+) complexes using an identical chelator. Given the presence of two inner sphere water molecules, important for MRI applications of the corresponding Gd(3+) analogues, this result is particularly exciting and opens wide perspectives not only for NIR imaging based on Ln(3+) ions but also for the design of combined NIR optical and MRI probes.  相似文献

In this work photoluminescent properties of highly Cu(2+) selective organic fluoroionophore, semicarbazone derivative; bis(naphtho[2,1-b]furan-2-yl)methanone semicarbazone (BNF) was investigated in different solvents (dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, toluene and ethanol) and in polymer matrices of polyvinylchloride (PVC) and ethyl cellulose (EC) by absorption and emission spectrometry. The BNF derivative displayed enhanced fluorescence emission quantum yield, Q(f)=6.1 x 10(-2) and molar extinction coefficient, epsilon=29,000+/-65 cm(-1)M(-1) in immobilized PVC matrix, compared to 2.6 x 10(-3) and 24,573+/-115 in ethanol solution. The offered sensor exhibited remarkable fluorescence intensity quenching upon exposure to Cu(2+) ions at pH 4.0 in the concentration range of 1.0 x 10(-9) to 3.0 x 10(-4)M [Cu(2+)] while the effects of the responding ions (Ca(2+), Hg(+), Pb(2+), Al(3+), Cr(3+), Mn(2+), Mg(2+), Sn(2+), Cd(2+), Co(2+) and Ni(2+)) were less pronounced.  相似文献

Two new rhodamine based probes 1 and 2 for the detection of Fe(3+) were synthesized and their selectivity towards Fe(3+) ions in the presence of other competitive metal ions tested. The probe 1 formed a coloured complex with Fe(3+) as well as Cu(2+) ions and revealed the lack of adequate number of coordination sites for selective complexation with Fe(3+). Incorporation of a triazole unit to the chelating moiety of 1 resulted in the probe 2, that displayed Fe(3+) selective complex formation even in the presence of other competitive metal ions like Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Cu(2+), Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Sr(2+), Cr(3+), Mn(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+) and Pb(2+). The observed limit of detection of Fe(3+) ions (5 × 10(-8) M) confirmed the very high sensitivity of 2. The excellent stability of 2 in physiological pH conditions, non-interference of amino acids, blood serum and bovine serum albumin (BSA) in the detection process, and the remarkable selectivity for Fe(3+) ions permitted the use of 2 in the imaging of live fibroblast cells treated with Fe(3+) ions.  相似文献

A novel green emissive terbium inorganic-polymeric hybrid particle was designed and this material could detect cations in water. Polyvinyl alcohol as an amphiphilic surfactant rendered the powders dispersible in water with regular round shape (10-20 μm). Interestingly, we noticed that not only Cu(2+) (detection limit 10(-4)M) but also Fe(3+) (detection limit 10(-4) M) can give rise to emission quenching to this target material in comparison with K(+), Na(+), Fe(2+), Mn(2+), Pd(2+), Cd(2+) and Co(2+) (10(-3) mol L(-1)). We regarded that the coordination interactions between ligand and metal ions resulted in these quenching processes. Additionally, it was found that the sensing material can be repeatedly used at least 5 cycles. More importantly, this novel material demonstrated higher thermal-stability in aqueous media than pure silica hybrid material.  相似文献

Hydrotalcite-like compounds (layered double hydroxides, LDHs) containing varying amounts of Al(3+), Zr(4+), and Zn(2+) or Mg(2+) in the metal hydroxide layer have been synthesized and characterized by various physicochemical methods. The adsorption behavior of uncalcined (as-synthesized) and calcined LDHs have been investigated for Cr(2)O(7)(2-) and SeO(3)(2-). The mixed oxides, obtained on calcination at 450 degrees C, exhibit high adsorption capacities for Cr(2)O(7)(2-) (1.6-2.7 meq/g) and SeO(3)(2-) (1.1-1.5 meq/g), where adsorption occurs through rehydration. Substitution of Zr(4+) in the LDHs, for either M(2+) or Al(3+) ions, increases the adsorption capacity up to 20%, thus providing an alternative way to enhance the adsorption capacity of this type of material. The high adsorption capacity of these materials could be successfully used for removal of undesirable anions from water and also for synthesis of intercalated materials with tailored acidobasicity.  相似文献

The influence of metal cations Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Cs(+), Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Sr(2+), Ba(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Pb(2+) and Al(3+) on the spectroscopic properties of the dansyl (1-dimethylaminonaphthalene-5-sulfonyl) group covalently linked to monoaza crown ethers 1-aza-15-crown-5 (1,4,7,10,-tetraoxa-13-azacyclopentadecane) (A15C5) and 1-aza-crown-6 (1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxa-16-azacyclooctadecane) (A18C6) was investigated by means of absorption and emission spectrophotometry. Interaction of the alkali metal ions with both fluoroionophores is weak, while alkaline earth metal ions interact strongly causing 50 and 85% quenching of dansyl fluorescence of N-(5-dimethylamine-1-naphthalenesulfonylo)-1,4,7,10,-tetraoxa-13-azacyclopentadecane (A15C5-Dns) and N-(5-dimethylamine-1-naphthalenesulfonylo)-1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxa-16-azacyclooctadecane (A18C6-Dns), respectively. The Cu(2+), Pb(2+) and Al(3+) cations interact very strongly with dansyl chromophore, causing a major change in absorption spectrum of the chromophore and forming non-fluorescent complexes. The Co(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Mg(2+) cations interact moderately with both fluoroionophores causing quenching of dansyl fluorescence by several percent only.  相似文献

A novel squaraine-based chemosensor SQ-1 has been synthesized, and its sensing behavior toward various metal ions was investigated by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopies. In AcOH-H(2)O (40:60, v/v) solution, Hg(2+) ions coordinate with SQ-1 causing a deaggregation which induces a visual color and absorption spectral changes as well as strong fluorescence. In contrast, the addition of other metals (e.g., Pb(2+), Cd(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Al(3+), Ni(2+), Co(2+), Fe(3+), Ca(2+), K(+), Mg(2+), Na(+), and Ag(+)) does not induce these changes at all. Thus SQ-1 is a specific Hg(2+) sensing agent due to the inducing deaggregation of the dye molecule by Hg(2+).  相似文献
