The classical theory of Toeplitz operators in spaces of analytic functions deals usually with symbols that are bounded measurable functions on the domain in question. A further extension of the theory was made for symbols being unbounded functions, measures, and compactly supported distributions, all of them subject to some restrictions.  相似文献

Let X be a bounded linear operator on the Hardy space H2 of the unit disk. We show that if is of finite rank for every inner function θ, then X=T?+F for some Toeplitz operator T? and some finite rank operator F on H2. This solves a variant of an open question where the compactness replaces the finite rank conditions.  相似文献

For the unilateral shift operator U on the Hardy space H2(T), we describe conditions on operators T, acting on H2(T), that are necessary and sufficient for the pair (U, T) to be jointly hyponormal. One necessary condition is that T be a Toeplitz operator. Consequently, we study certain nonanalytic symbols that give rise to Toeplitz operators hyponormal with the shift, and thereby obtain examples of noncommuting, jointly hyponormal pairs.Supported in part by a research grant from NSERC  相似文献

Semi-commutators of Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
In this paper several necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the semi-commutator of Toeplitz operators andT g with bounded pluriharmonic symbols on the unit ball to be compact on the Bergman space. Using -harmonic function theory on the unit ball we show that with bounded pluriharmonic symbolsf andg is zero on the Bergman space of the unit ball or the Hardy space of the unit sphere if and only if eitherf org is holomorphic. The author was supported in part by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

We analyze the influence of the radial component of a symbol to spectral, compactness, and Fredholm properties of Toeplitz operators, acting on the Bergman space. We show that there existcompact Toeplitz operators whose (radial) symbols areunbounded near the unit circle . Studying this question we give several sufficient, and necessary conditions, as well as the corresponding examples. The essential spectra of Toeplitz operators with pure radial symbols have sufficiently rich structure, and even can be massive.TheC *-algebras generated by Toeplitz operators with radial symbols are commutative, but the semicommutators[T a, Tb)=Ta·Tb–Ta·b are not compact in general. Moreover for bounded operatorsT a andT b the operatorT a·b may not be bounded at all. This work was partially supported by CONACYT Project 27934-E, México. The first author acknowledges the RFFI Grant 98-01-01023, Russia.  相似文献

In this article we introduce a notion of `division' for rational functions and then give a criterion for hyponormality of (f, g are rational functions) in the cases where g divides f. Furthermore we show that we may assume, without loss of generality, that g divides f when we consider the hyponormality of . This paper studies algebras of functions on the unit disk generated byH (D) and bounded harmonic functions. Using these algebras, we characterize compact semicommutators and commutators of Toeplitz operators with harmonic symbols on the Bergman space. For Toeplitz operators Tf(t) acting on the weighted Fock space Ht2, we consider the semi-commutator Tf(t)Tg(t)?Tfg(t), where t>0 is a certain weight parameter that may be interpreted as Planck's constant ? in Rieffel's deformation quantization. In particular, we are interested in the semi-classical limit
(?)limt0?6Tf(t)Tg(t)?Tfg(t)6t.
It is well-known that 6Tf(t)Tg(t)?Tfg(t)6t tends to 0 under certain smoothness assumptions imposed on f and g. This result was recently extended to f,gBUC(Cn) by Bauer and Coburn. We now further generalize (?) to (not necessarily bounded) uniformly continuous functions and symbols in the algebra VMOL of bounded functions having vanishing mean oscillation on Cn. Our approach is based on the algebraic identity Tf(t)Tg(t)?Tfg(t)=?(Hf¯(t))?Hg(t), where Hg(t) denotes the Hankel operator corresponding to the symbol g, and norm estimates in terms of the (weighted) heat transform. As a consequence, only f (or likewise only g) has to be contained in one of the above classes for (?) to vanish. For g we only have to impose limsupt06Hg(t)6t<, e.g. gL(Cn). We prove that the set of all symbols fL(Cn) with the property that limt0?6Tf(t)Tg(t)?Tfg(t)6t=limt0?6Tg(t)Tf(t)?Tgf(t)6t=0 for all gL(Cn) coincides with VMOL. Additionally, we show that limt0?6Tf(t)6t=6f6 holds for all fL(Cn). Finally, we present new examples, including bounded smooth functions, where (?) does not vanish.  相似文献

We give a generalization of the Newman-Shapiro Isometry Theorem to the case of Hilbert space-valued entire functions, which are square-summable with respect to the Gaussian measure on n , together with some applications in the theory of Toeplitz operators with operator-valued symbols. The study of various properties (such as density of domains, cores, closedness and boundedness from below) of these operators in illustrated with many relevant examples.Research supported by KBN under grant no. 2 P03A 041 10.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the compression of an analytic Toeplitz operator onto a shift coinvariant subspace to have nontrivial reducing subspaces. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the kernel of a Toeplitz operator whose symbol is the quotient of two inner functions to be nontrivial and obtain examples of reducing subspaces from these kernels. Motivated by this result we give necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the kernel of a Toeplitz operator whose symbol is the quotient of two inner functions to be nontrivial in terms of the supports of the two inner functions. By studying the commutant of a compression, we are able to give a necessary condition for the existence of reducing subspaces on certain shift coinvariant subspaces.  相似文献

We investigate the strongly exposed points of the unit ball ofH 1 and show that these functions are characterized by the equality of two De Branges' spaces that appeared in earlier results on exposed points. It then follows that the strongly exposed points are induced by Helson-Szegö weights, leading to several interesting properties of this class of functions.Dedicated to my father, Albert Jan Beneker.  相似文献

Motivated by recent works of Ahern and uković on the disk, we study the generalized zero product problem for Toeplitz operators acting on the Bergman space of the polydisk. First, we extend the results to the polydisk. Next, we study the generalized compact product problem. Our results are new even on the disk. As a consequence on higher dimensional polydisks, we show that the generalized zero and compact product properties are the same for Toeplitz operators in a certain case. The first three authors were partially supported by KOSEF(R01-2003-000-10243-0) and the last author was partially supported by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

We study Toeplitz operators on the harmonic Bergman spaceb p (B), whereB is the open unit ball inR n(n2), for 1<p. We give characterizations for the Toeplitz operators with positive symbols to be bounded, compact, and in Schatten classes. We also obtain a compactness criteria for the Toeplitz operators with continuous symbols.  相似文献

We give criteria for products of Toeplitz and Hankel operators on the Fock (Segal–Bargmann) space to belong to the Dixmier class, and compute their Dixmier trace. Along the road, analogous results for the Weyl pseudodifferential operators are also obtained.  相似文献

An aspect of the theory of Toeplitz operators on generalised Hardy spaces is considered, namely, a necessary and sufficient condition on the symbols to ensure that the product of two Toeplitz operators is itself a Toeplitz operator. The answer to this question draws on many deep results of the theory of generalised Hardy spaces.  相似文献
