The Couette flow is considered for surfaces with nonuniformly distributed energy accommodation coefficients α. It is shown that at Knudsen numbers greater or of the order of unity heat fluxes and viscous stresses can be considerably optimized by varying the surface distribution of α at a fixed integral value. At the same time, for Kn ≪ 1 the flows with nonuniformly distributed α are similar with the flow with a constant accommodation coefficient equal to its mean value.  相似文献

We consider the problem of self-similar zero-viscosity limits for systems ofN conservation laws. First, we give general conditions so that the resulting boundary-value problem admits solutions. The obtained existence theory covers a large class of systems, in particular the class of symmetric hyperbolic systems. Second, we show that if the system is strictly hyperbolic and the Riemann data are sufficiently close, then the resulting family of solutions is of uniformly bounded variation and oscillation. Third, we construct solutions of the Riemann problem via self-similar zero-viscosity limits and study the structure of the emerging solution and the relation of self-similar zero-viscosity limits and shock profiles. The emerging solution consists ofN wave fans separated by constant states. Each wave fan is associated with one of the characteristic fields and consists of a rarefaction, a shock, or an alternating sequence of shocks and rarefactions so that each shock adjacent to a rarefaction on one side is a contact discontinuity on that side. At shocks, the solutions of the self-similar zero-viscosity problem have the internal structure of a traveling wave.  相似文献

Two methods for determining the initial coefficient of the first normal stress difference are presented. They are based on the evaluation of the steady viscosity function η(γ.) and the viscosity function η+(γ., t) at the start-up of a flow with a very small rate of deformation γ. < γ.0. For the functions η(γ.) and η+(γ.), equations are given which can be used for a simple evaluation of the integral relationships obtaiend for ψ10. The values for ψ10 calculated by the two methods are compared with values obtained by the well-known methods via measurement of the ψ1(γ.) or η″(ω)/ω functions and extrapolation to zero). Both methods give values which are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental values.  相似文献

Perturbation methods are routinely used in all fields of applied mathematics where analytical solutions for nonlinear dynamical systems are searched. Among them, normal form theory provides a reliable method for systematically simplifying dynamical systems via nonlinear change of coordinates, and is also used in a mechanical context to define Nonlinear Normal Modes (NNMs). The main recognized drawback of perturbation methods is the absence of a criterion establishing their range of validity in terms of amplitude. In this paper, we propose a method to obtain upper bounds for amplitudes of changes of variables in normal form transformations. The criterion is tested on simple mechanical systems with one and two degrees-of-freedom, and for complex as well as real normal form. Its behavior with increasing order in the normal transform is established, and comparisons are drawn between exact solutions and normal form computations for increasing levels of amplitudes. The results clearly establish that the criterion gives an upper bound for validity limit of normal transforms.  相似文献

We use previous theoretical results for the added mass, history and lubrication forces between two spheres colliding in a fluid with viscosity ν to investigate the effect of viscous dissipation on the coefficient of restitution during contact. We assume that the mechanical interaction is governed by Hertzian mechanical contact of small duration τ and that the minimum approach distance between particles is approximately equal to the height σ of surface micro-asperities. A non-dimensionalization of the equation of motion indicates that the contact dynamics is governed by two parameters – the ratio ϵ of the surface roughness σ and the sphere radius a, and a contact Stokes number defined as Stc = σ2/ντ. An asymptotic solution of the equation of motion in the limit of small ϵ/Stc is used to obtain an explicit expression for the coefficient of restitution during contact and the latter is compared with estimates based on numerical solutions of the non-linear equation of motion.  相似文献

A two-dimensional microslip friction model with normal load variation induced by normal motion is presented in this paper. The model is a distributed parameter model, which characterizes the stick-slip-separation of the contact interface and determines the resulting friction force, including its time variance and spatial distribution, between two elastic structures. When the relative motion is simple harmonic motion, the stick-slip-separation transition angles associated with any point in the contact area can be analytically determined within a cycle of motion. In addition, if the relative motion is given, stick-slip-separation transition boundaries inside the contact area and their time variances can be determined. Along with an iterative multi-mode solution approach utilizing harmonic balance method (HBM), the developed model can be employed to determine the forced response of frictionally constrained structures. In the approach, the forced response is constructed in terms of the free mode shapes of the structure; consequently, it can be determined at any excitation frequency and for any type of normal load distribution. Two examples, a one-dimensional beam like damper and a more realistic blade to ground damper, are employed to illustrate the predictive abilities of the developed model. It is shown that while employing a single mode model, transition boundaries for the beam like damper agrees with the results given in the literature, the developed method identifies the phase difference along the slip to stick transition boundary when a multi-mode model is employed. Moreover, while partial slip is illustrated in the two examples, typical softening and hardening effects, due to separation of the contact surface, are also predicted for the blade to ground damper.  相似文献

This paper illustrates how rheo-optical techniques may be utilized to determine the first normal stress coefficient for an exopolysaccharide (EPS) produced by the Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus LY03, which is widely used in yoghurt production. In this technique both shear stress, optical birefringence and extinction angle are measured simultaneously as a function of shear rate. From the stress optical rule the first normal stress difference can be determined directly without relying on any specific rheological model. Of special interest is the point where the first normal stress difference become comparable in magnitude to the shear stress. Here we expect to find a notable influence of the first normal stress difference on mouthfeel.This paper was presented at the first Annual European Rheology Conference (AERC) held in Guimarães, Portugal, September 11-13, 2003.  相似文献

充气膜结构是典型的风敏感型柔性结构,风荷载经常起关键的控制作用。本文利用ANSYS14.5程序中的workbench平台,考虑流固耦合作用,研究矩形平面气承式充气膜结构的风压系数分布。其中,选用基于雷诺时均模拟法的RNGk-ε湍流模型进行风场模拟,采用弱耦合分析方法模拟流固耦合风荷载效应。分析的参数选择风向角、结构内压、矢跨比和平面长宽比。针对矢跨比分别为1/4,1/3和1/2,长宽比分别为5/3,2/1和3/1的柔性充气膜结构模型,计算不同内压及不同风向角作用下的结构响应。结果表明,考虑流固耦合作用时,充气膜结构的风压体型系数比不考虑流固耦合作用的刚性模型明显偏大,其影响因子在1.25~1.5之间;充气膜结构的风压系数分布受风向角、内压、长宽比及矢跨比的影响较大。  相似文献

Vorticity distributions over the diffracted shock both from Lighthill’s theory (Proc R Soc A 198:454–470, 1949) applicable for small bends and Sakurai and Takayama’s theory (Shock Waves 4:225–230, 2005) applicable for larger bends have been investigated for Mach numbers 1.80 and 1.95. This report discusses a new approach for the resolution of the fluid-dynamic limit for the Broadwell system of the kinetic theory of gases, appropriate in the case of Riemann, Maxwellian data. Since the formal limiting system is expected to have self-similar solutions, we are motivated to replace the Knudsen number in the Broadwell model so that the resulting model admits self-similar solutions =x/t and then let go to zero. The limiting procedure is justified and the resulting limit is a solution of the Riemann problem for the fluid-dynamic limit equations. A class of Riemann data for which this program can be carried out is exhibited. Furthermore, it is shown that for the Carleman model the complete program can be done successfully for arbitrary Riemann data.  相似文献

为探讨多梁式波形钢腹板工字钢组合梁横向分布系数计算方法,同时考虑波形钢腹板抗扭刚度、剪切变形及钢混滑移效应,对传统的偏心压力法、修正偏心压力法及刚接梁法进行修正,并结合有限元模型通过一座典型的4主梁波形钢腹板工字钢组合梁桥对比分析了上述方法的适用性,最后基于参数分析研究了横隔板数量及刚度对其横向荷载分布系数的影响。结果表明,考虑剪切变形及滑移效应的刚接梁法得到的荷载横向分布系数与有限元值符合最好;当桥梁宽跨比小于2时,宜采用刚接梁法计算各主梁荷载横向分布系数,当宽跨比大于2时,宜采用更为简洁的修正偏心压力法进行计算;横隔板的设置可改善各主梁荷载横向均匀分布,但跨间横隔板间距和刚度对其荷载横向分布系数影响较小,实桥设计时可仅在端部及跨中位置布置横隔板,横隔板刚度及其余部位横隔板数量可根据结构稳定性要求进行布置。  相似文献

On the Moon or Mars, typical target environments for exploration rovers are covered with fine sand, so their wheels easily slip on such weak ground. When wheel slippage occurs, it is hard for the rover to follow its desired route. In the worst case, the rover gets stuck in loose soil and cannot move anymore. To reduce the risk of the rover getting stuck, analysis of the contact mechanics between the soil and wheel is important. Various normal stress distribution models for under the wheel surface have been proposed so far. However, classical models assume a uniform stress distribution in the wheel’s width direction. In this study, we measured the two-dimensional normal stress distribution of a wheel in experiments. The results clarified that the stress distribution in the wheel’s width direction is a mountain-shape curve with a peak located at the center of the wheel. Based on the results, we constructed a stress distribution model for the wheel’s width direction. In this paper, we report our measurements for the two-dimensional stress distribution of a wheel on loose soil and introduce our stress distribution model for the wheel’s width direction based on our experimental results.  相似文献

截断重要抽样法是在传统的重要抽样方法的基础上,引入截断抽样函数来计算结构的失效概率,本文运用此方法来解决工程中普遍存在的截断分布问题。首先将截断分布情况下的可靠性模型转化为非截断分布情况下的多模式并联系统的可靠性模型,然后采用截断重要抽样法求解,推导了截断分布可靠性估计值的方差分析公式。文中给出的算例结果表明:截断重要抽样法适用于截断分布的可靠性分析,且在相同的计算精度下,截断重要抽样法比传统的重要抽样法效率要高。  相似文献

The linear problem of the steady-state heat conduction is studied in isotropic nonhomogeneous hollow rigid bodies. Upper and lower bounds are derived for the effective heat conduction coefficient. This letter presents a theoretical model of the normal (head-on) collisions between two soft spheres for predicting the experimental characteristic of the coefficient of restitution dependent on impact velocity. After the contact force law between the contacted spheres during a collision is phenomenologically formulated in terms of the compression or overlap displacement under consideration of an elastic—plastic loading and a plastic unloading subprocesses, the coefficient of restitution is gained by the dynamic equation of the contact process once an initial impact velocity is input. It is found that the theoretical predictions of the coefficient of restitution varying with the impact velocity are well in agreement with the existing experimental characteristics which are fitted by the explicit formula.  相似文献

A method is introduced to determine the valve flow coefficient and resistance coefficient with the experiment of air discharging from a reservoir, and with the least squares method to fit the cumulative molar quantities discharged. The test valve is an angle-seat valve (Type 2632, Bürkert) with different apertures. At pressure difference of about 6 bar, the choked flow occurs when the valve aperture over 60%. Both the valve coefficient and resistance coefficient model can exactly predict the flowrate for the non-choked flow, while there are larger deviations for the choked flow. The modified equation for the choked flow can improve the prediction. In the resistance coefficient model, the value of resistance coefficient and the discharged cumulative molar quantities obtained with both the compressible and incompressible assumption are very close. The compressibility of air is negligible within the experimental pressure difference of about 6 bar. The additivity of the resistance coefficient makes the model more convenient to use.  相似文献

A complex yet realistic nonuniform rolling friction force distribution of a spring-rolling isolation system could lead to great complexity in determining its seismic response. This paper investigates the isolation performance of a spring-rolling isolation system assuming that the rolling friction force gradually and linearly increases with the relative displacement between the isolator and the ground. A series of ground motions with different characteristics were applied to this system. The analysis results show that the considered concavely distributed friction force is capable of dissipating the earthquake energy, and it is also able to modify the structural natural period. These merits combined help to improve the isolating efficacy of the spring-rolling isolation system compared with scenarios with uniform distribution pattern, and more importantly lead to a relatively optimum isolation state, avoiding a sudden amplification of the structural seismic response, regardless of the input motion characteristics.  相似文献
