A bulky bidentate ligand was used to stabilize a macrocyclic [FeIII8CoII6] cluster. Tuning the basicity of the ligand by derivatization with one or two methoxy groups led to the isolation of a homologous [FeIII8CoII6] species and a [FeIII6FeII2CoIII2CoII2] complex, respectively. Lowering the reaction temperatures allowed isolation of [FeIII6FeII2CoIII2CoII2] clusters with all three ligands. Temperature‐dependent absorption data and corresponding experiments with iron/nickel systems indicated that the iron/cobalt self‐assembly process was directed by the occurrence of solution‐state electron‐transfer‐coupled spin transition (ETCST) and its influence on reaction intermediate lability.  相似文献

The coordination behaviour of the novel ligand, HMPz4Cy, is reported, together with solid state isolation of its diamagnetic cobalt(III) complexes, [Co(MPz4Cy)2]X · nH2O (X = Cl, Br, NO3, ClO4 and BF4). I.r. and 1H-n.m.r. data for the free ligand and its CoIII complexes confirm that the ligand, HMPz4Cy, acts as a uninegative anion with NNS tridentate function via the pyrazolyl nitrogen (tertiary), azomethine nitrogen and thiol sulphur. Electronic spectra (both solid and solution) are commensurate with a distorted octahedral environment for the reported CoIII species. Cyclic voltammograms of CoIII complexes indicate a quasireversible Co+3/Co+2 couple. X-ray crystallography of a representative species, [Co(MPz4Cy)2]Cl · 2.75H2O (C2, monoclinic), has shown unambiguously that the two ligands are orthogonally coordinated to the central CoIII ion with both the thiolato sulphurs and both pyrazolyl nitrogen atoms in cis positions.  相似文献

Cefazolin (Hcefaz) interacts with transition metal(II) ions to give [M(cefaz)Cl] complexes (M = MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, PdII) and [Ag2(cefaz)2Cl2] which were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. Their i.r. and the 1H-n.m.r. spectra suggest that cefazolin behaves as a monoanionic tetradentate ligand. The complexes have been screened for antibacterial activity and the results are compared with the activity of cefazolin.  相似文献

Summary The reaction between chromone-3-carboxaldehyde-4-phenylthiosemicarbazone (HCPT) and some hydrated metal salts of CoII, NiII and CuII give complexes of the type [Cu(HCPT)Cl2],[Cu(CPT)BrH2O],[Cu(CPT)2]·2H2O, [Ni(CPT)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, [Co(CPT)2(OAc)] and [Co(CPT)2(H2O)2]X·2H2O (where X=Cl or Br). The metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and spectal (i.r. and visible) and magnetic studies. I.r. spectra show that the HCPT coordinates in the thione or thiol form and behaves in a bidentate manner. Also, HCPT behaves as an oxidizing agent towards CoII forming diamagnetic CoIII complexes. An octahedral structure is proposed for both CoIII and NiII complexes, while a square-planar structure is proposed for CuII complexes on the basis of magnetic and spectral measurements.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of the potentially tetradentate ligand isonitroso-acetylacetone dithiosemicarbazone (inbtH2) of formulae [Ti(inbtH2)Cl2]Cl2, [M(inbt)], where M = VIV O, MnII, NiII or ZnII, [M(inbtH2)X2], where M = CoII and X = Cl, or M = NiII and X = Cl, Br or I, and [M(inbtH2)Cl2]Cl, where M = CrIII or FeIII, have been prepared and characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. In all the compounds the metal is coordinated by the thiocarbonyl sulphur and imine nitrogen, as revealed by i.r. studies. The n.m.r. spectra of the complexes of NiII and ZnII confirm coordination through nitrogen. Possible structures for the complexes are proposed. The Mössbauer spectrum of the FeIII complex is discussed.  相似文献

Thermolysis of cyano complexes. VII. On the thermal decomposition of hexacyanocobaltate(III); ligand exchange during thermolysis The thermal decomposition of hexacyanocobaltates(III) yields, as products of successive intramolecular redox reactions, first dicyan and CoII(CoIII)-complexes, then CoII[CoII]-complexes and simple CoII(CN)2, respectively, and finally CoICN and elemental Co, respectively. All the compounds of the [CoIII(NH3)6]3+ cation with the cyanometallate anions of Co, Fe, Cr, Mn, Ni, Mo yield the same DTA curve as [Co(NH3)6][Co(CN)6] does; in the case of Ni and Cr, which are capable of forming ammine complexes, simultaneous mutual ligand exchange occurs.  相似文献

The synthesis of CoII, NiII, CuII and CdII complexes of 2-furfural 4-phenyl semicarbazone (FPSC) with stoichiometric formulae: [M(FPSC)2X2] (M = Co, Ni or Cu; X = Cl or Br), [CuCl2(FPSC)] and [(CdCl2)2(FPSC)] has been obtained for the first time. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic measurements, i.r., far i.r. and electronic spectra. FPSC is deduced to act as a bidentate ligand in the CoII, NiII and CuII complexes and as a tetradentate one in [(CdCl2)2(FPSC)].  相似文献

Three new transition metal complexes, [FeII(H2O)6][(C9H7NO3)2FeII] · H2O (1), H[K(H2O)3][(C9H7NO3)2CoII] · H2O (2), and [CoII(H2O)6][(C9H7NO3)2CoII] · H2O (3), with salicylideneglycine have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. The structure analyses indicate that the tridentate salicylideneglycine binds through aliphatic nitrogen, phenoxy, and carboxylic oxygen in the anion. There are many inter- and intra-molecular hydrogen bonds among lattice water, the anion, and the cation to form a 3-D network. The thermogravimetric analyses and the quantum chemistry calculations of compounds 1, 2, and 3 are also discussed.  相似文献

A new series of 14–16-membered hexaazamacrocyclic complexes [ML1X2] and [ML2X2] (M = CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII; X = Cl or NO3) have been synthesized by template condensation of phenylenediamine, primary diamines and formaldehyde solution 35% in MeOH and have been characterized by i.r., 1H-n.m.r., e.p.r., and u.v. spectroscopy as well as by magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. An octahedral geometry has been suggested for all the complexes.  相似文献

Polarized neutron diffraction (PND) experiments were carried out at low temperature to characterize with high precision the local magnetic anisotropy in two paramagnetic high‐spin cobalt(II) complexes, namely [CoII(dmf)6](BPh4)2 ( 1 ) and [CoII2(sym‐hmp)2](BPh4)2 ( 2 ), in which dmf=N,N‐dimethylformamide; sym‐hmp=2,6‐bis[(2‐hydroxyethyl)methylaminomethyl]‐4‐methylphenolate, and BPh4?=tetraphenylborate. This allowed a unique and direct determination of the local magnetic susceptibility tensor on each individual CoII site. In compound 1 , this approach reveals the correlation between the single‐ion easy magnetization direction and a trigonal elongation axis of the CoII coordination octahedron. In exchange‐coupled dimer 2 , the determination of the individual CoII magnetic susceptibility tensors provides a clear outlook of how the local magnetic properties on both CoII sites deviate from the single‐ion behavior because of antiferromagnetic exchange coupling.  相似文献

CoII,III, NiII, and CuII complexes of new dehydroacetic acid N4-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been studied. The substituted thiosemicarbazones, N4-dimethyl-(DA4DM), N4-diethyl-(DA4DE), 3-piperidyl-(DApip) and 3-hexamethyleneiminyl-(DAhexim), when reacted with the metal chlorides, produced two CoII complexes, [Co(DA4DE)Cl2] and [Co(DAhexim)2Cl2]; two CoIII complexes, [Co(DA4DM-H)2Cl] and [Co(DApip-H)(DApip-2H)]; a paramagnetic NiII complex, [Ni(DAhexim)(DAhexim-H)Cl]; three diamagnetic NiII complexes, [Ni(DA4DM-H)Cl], [Ni(DA4DE-H)Cl] and [Ni(DApip-H)Cl]; and four CuII complexes with the analogous stoichiometry of the latter three NiII complexes. These new thiosemicarbazones have been characterized by their melting points, as well as i.r., electronic and 1H-n.m.r. spectra. The metal complexes have been characterized by i.r. and electronic spectra, and when possible, n.m.r. and e.s.r. spectra, as well as elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and magnetic susceptibilities. The crystal and molecular structure of the four-coordinate CuII complex, [Cu(DAhexim-H)Cl] has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and the anionic ligand coordinates via an oxygen of the dehydroacetic acid and the thiosemicarbazone moiety's imine nitrogen and thione sulfur.  相似文献

Metallo-guanines of the type [M(G)2·2H2O] [M = NiII, FeII, CuII and UO2 II; G = anionic guanine], [M(G)2(GH)· H2O] (M = CoII and MnII; GH = neutral guanine), [Pd(G)2]·2H2O and [Zn(G)Cl]2 have been isolated and characterised. Anionic guanine functions as a bidentate ligand and links through N(3) and N(9). E.p.r. data indicate that the CuII complex has a highly distorted octahedral structure. The magnetic susceptibility data suggest that the CoII and NiII complexes possess pseudooctahedral geometry. Neutral guanines are probably unidentate and coordinate either through N(3) or N(9). The isolated guanosine complexes are of the types: [M(Gs)2·H2O] [M = NiII and CuII, Gs = anionic guanosine] [Pd(Gs)2]·2H2O and [UO2(Gs)2]. I.r. data indicate that guanosine also functions as a bidentate ligand, but coordinates through N(1) and C2 — NH2. The electronic absorption spectra of the complexes indicate that guanine is a stronger ligand than guanosine.  相似文献

Summary 2-Acetylpyridine N(4)-dihexyl- and N(4)-dicyclohexylthiosemicarbazone, HAc4DHex and HAc4DCHex, respectively, and FeIII, CoII, CoIII, NiII, CuII and ZnII complexes have been prepared and characterized by molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and spectroscopic techniques. For many of the complexes, loss of the N(2)H hydrogen occurs, and the ligands coordinate to the metal centres as NNS monoanionic, tridentate ligands, e.g., [M(NNS)X] (M = CoII, NiII, CuII, NNS = Ac4DHex or Ac4DCHex and X = Cl or Br), [Fe(NNS)2]ClO4, [Co(NNS)2]BF4, [Cu(NNS)NO3] and [Zn(NNS)OAc]. ZnII ion is also chelated by neutral ligands in [Zn(HNNS)X2] (X = Cl, Br). In addition, [Ni(Ac4DHex)-(HAc4DHex)]X (X = BF4, ClO4) and [Ni(HAc4DCHex)2]-(BF4)2 are reported where the neutral thiosemicarbazone is coordinated via the pyridyl nitrogen, azomethine nitrogen and thione sulfur. Crystal structure determinations of HAc4DCHex and [Cu(Ac4DHex)Br] show the former to contain the bifurcated hydrogen bonded form and the latter to be planar with no significant interaction between neighbouring centres.  相似文献

The GeIV chlorometallate complexes, [EMIM]2[GeCl6], [EDMIM]2[GeCl6] and [PYRR]2[GeCl6] (EMIM=1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium; EDMIM=2,3‐dimethyl‐1‐ethylimidazolium; PYRR=N‐butyl‐N‐methylpyrrolidinium) have been synthesised and fully characterised; the first two also by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The imidazolium chlorometallates exhibited significant C?H???Cl hydrogen bonds, resulting in extended supramolecular assemblies in the solid state. Solution 1H NMR data also showed cation–anion association. The synthesis and characterisation of GeII halometallate salts [EMIM][GeX3] (X=Cl, Br, I) and [PYRR][GeCl3], including single‐crystal X‐ray analyses for the homologous series of imidazolium salts, are reported. In these complexes, the intermolecular interactions are much weaker in the solid state and they appear not to be significantly associated in solution. Cyclic‐voltammetry experiments on the GeIV species in CH2Cl2 solution showed two distinct, irreversible reduction waves attributed to GeIV–GeII and GeII–Ge0, whereas the GeII species exhibited one irreversible reduction wave. The potential for the GeII–Ge0 reduction was unaffected by changing the cation, although altering the oxidation state of the precursor from GeIV to GeII does have an effect; for a given cation, reduction from the [GeCl3]? salts occurred at a less cathodic potential. The nature of the halide co‐ligand also has a marked influence on the reduction potential for the GeII–Ge0 couple, such that the reduction potentials for the [GeX3]? salts become significantly less cathodic when the halide (X) is changed Cl→Br→I.  相似文献

Four CuII and CoII complexes–[Cu(L1)Cl2(H2O)]3/2H2O · 1/2EtOH, [Cu(L1)2Cl2]6H2O, [Co(L1)Cl2]3H2O · EtOH, and [Co2(L1)(H2O)Cl4]1.5H2O · EtOH (L1 = 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine; TPT)–were synthesized by conventional chemical method and used to synthesize another four metal complexes–[Cu(L1)I2(H2O)]6H2O, [Cu(L1)2I2]6H2O, [Co(L1)I(H2O)2]I · 2H2O, and [Co2(L1)I4(H2O)3]–using tribochemical reaction, by grinding it with KI. Substitution of chloride by iodide occurred, but no reduction for CuII or oxidation of CoII. Oxidation of CoII to CoIII complexes was only observed on the dissolution of CoII complexes in d6-DMSO in air while warming. The isolated solid complexes (CuII and CoII) have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductivities, spectral (IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR), thermal measurements (TGA), and magnetic measurements. The values of molar conductivities suggest non-electrolytes in DMF. The metal complexes are paramagnetic. IR spectra indicate that TPT is tridentate coordinating via the two pyridyl nitrogens and one triazine nitrogen forming two five-membered rings around the metal in M : L complexes and bidentate via one triazine nitrogen and one pyridyl nitrogen in ML2 complexes. In binuclear complexes, L is tridentate toward one CoII and bidentate toward the second CoII in [Co2(L1)Cl4]2.5H2O · EtOH and [Co2(L1)I4(H2O)3]. Electronic spectra and magnetic measurements suggest a distorted-octahedral around CuII and high-spin octahedral and square-pyramidal geometry around CoII.  相似文献

Summary New complexes of the general formulae [MLA(H2O)2]-Cl2 (M=Ni or Cu), [MLAX2] (M=Co or Cu; X=Cl or Br), [NiLABr2]·H2O, [MLA] [MCl4] (M=Pd or Pt), [NiLB(H2O)2]Cl2·2H2O, [MLBCl2] (M=Co, Ni, Cu, Pd or Pt; X=Cl or Br) and [MLB] [MCl4] (M=Pd or Pt), where LA=N,N-ethylenebis(2-acetylpyridine imine) and LB=N, N-ethylenebis(2-benzoylpyridine imine), have been isolated. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, t.g./d.t.g. methods, magnetic susceptibilities and spectroscopic (i.r., far-i.r., ligand field,1Hn.m.r.) studies. Monomeric pseudo-octahedral stereochemistries for the CoII, NiII and CuII complexes andcis square planar structures for the compounds [MLBX2] (M=Pd or Pt; X=Cl or Br) are assigned in the solid state. The molecules LA and LB behave as tetradentate chelate ligands in the CoII, NiII, CuII and Magnus-type PdII and PtII complexes, bonding through both the pyridine and methine nitrogen atoms. A bidentateN-methine coordination of the Schiff base LB is assigned in the [MLBX2] complexes (M=Pd or Pt; X=Cl or Br). The anomalous magnetic moment values of the CoII complexes are discussed.  相似文献

The reaction of copper(II) perchlorate with the hydrochloride salt of 3,6,9,15-tetra-azabicyclo[9.3.1]penta-deca-1,11,13-triene (L1) in acetonitrile forms two macrocyclic complexes that can be characterized: [L1CuIICl][ClO4] (1) and [L1CuIICl]2[CuCl4] (2). The structural, electronic, and redox properties of these complexes were studied using spectroscopy (EPR and UV–visible) and electrochemistry. In addition, the solid-state structure of 1 was obtained using X-ray diffraction. The copper(II) is five-coordinate ligated by four N-atoms of the macrocycle and a chloride atom. EPR studies of 1 both in DMF and aqueous solution indicate the presence of a single copper(II) species. In contrast, EPR studies of 2 performed in frozen DMF and in the solid-state reveal the presence of two spectroscopically distinct copper(II) complexes assigned as [L1CuIICl]+ and [CuIICl4]2?. Lastly, electrochemical studies demonstrate that both [L1CuIICl]+ and [CuIICl4]2? are redox active. Specifically, the [L1CuIICl]+ undergoes a quasi-reversible Cu(II)/(I) redox reaction in the absence of excess chloride. In the presence of chloride, however, the chemical irreversibility of this couple becomes evident at concentrations of chloride that exceed 50 mM. As a result, the presence of chloride from the chemical equilibrium of this latter species impedes the reversibility of the reduction of [L1CuIICl]+ to [L1CuICl]0.  相似文献

A series of asymmetric heterobimetallic complexes of the type [LMLSn]Cl and [LMLSn]Cl2, where L = ethylene diamine, M = MnII, CoII, NiII and CuII, M = CrIII and FeIII and L = 1-tryptophan and 1-valine, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, u.v.–vis., i.r., e.p.r., n.m.r., cyclic voltammetry and conductivity measurements. The CoIII analogue of these complexes was characterized by two dimensional n.m.r. COSY data. The kinetics of oxygen binding with the complex [C15H23N4O2SnCo]Cl has also been studied. The kinetic data proves that CoII of a coordinated molecule participates in the rate-determining step of the dioxygen binding process. The plots of the pseudo-first-order rate k obs versus [O2] are linear passing through an intercept. The electrochemical behaviour of [C15H23N4O2SnCo]2+ and [C15H23N4O2SnCu]+ was monitored by cyclic voltammetry. Comparison of the electrochemical properties of [CoIIISnIV]2+ and [CuIISnIV]+ reveal that, in both the species, one electron transfer reaction takes place. For the [CoIIISnIV]2+ species E 0 = 0.272 and –1.1 V and for the [CuIISnIV]+ species E 0 = 0.078 and –0.300 V values were obtained, respectively.  相似文献
