Summary The reactions of anhydrous titanium(IV), tin(IV) and vanadium(IV) halides with Schiff bases derived from 2-aminobenzimidazole and 4-methylbenzaldehyde (abimbz) and salicylaldehyde (abisal), yield hexacoordinated complexes M(abimbz)Cl4 and M(abisal)2X4 (M = Ti, Sn or V; X = Cl or Br).The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, e.p.r., electronic and i.r. spectral studies. I.r. spectra suggest that the Schiff base (abimbz) is coordinated as a bidentate ligand with the metal ion and the (abisal) base acts as a monodentate ligand.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of the type M(AcLeu)2 · B2 (M = CoII, NiII or ZnII; B = H2O, py, 3-pic, 4-pic; AcLeu =N-acetyl-DL-leucinate ion) and M(AcLeu)2 B (M = CoII or ZnII and B = o-phen) were prepared and investigated by means of magnetic and spectroscopic measurements. The i.r. spectra of all the complexes are consistent with bidentate coordination of the amino acid to the metal ion. The room temperature solid state electronic spectra indicate that the symmetry of this species is closer toD 4h and that MO6 and MO4N2 chromophores are present in the M(AcLeu)2 · 2 H2O and M(AcLeu)2Bn · x H2O (B = py, 3-pic, 4-pic, n=2 and x=0 for M = NiII; B = o-phen, n=1 and x=0 for M = CoII; B = py, 3-pic, 4-pic, n=1 and x=1 for M = CoII) complexes, respectively. By comparing the Dq values of the amino acid and those of other N-substituted amino acids previously studied, a spectrochemical series of the the cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes is proposed. The1 H n.m.r. spectra of the zinc(II) complexes confirm the proposed stereochemistry.  相似文献

Summary Tetrahalometallates of the type (Etmorphl1)21MX4 (M = Co11, Ni11 or Zn11 and with X = Cl, Br or l; M = CuII with X = CI or Br) and mixed tetrahalocuprates, Etmorphll)2[CUXmY4–m] (X = Cl; N' = 13r; m = 1,2,3) of theN-ethylmorpholinium cation were prepared and investigated by means of spectroscopic and magnetic measurements. While the cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes appear to be essentially, tetrahedral, the copper(II) complexes are discussed on the basis of a distorted ('flattened') tetrahedral symmetry. The electronic spectra of the complexes are assigned on this basis. The far i.r. spectra of the complexes show bands which are unambiguously assignable to the metal-halogen stretching modes. The effects of the counter cation on the geometry around the metal ion, compared with that of the morpholinium and piperidinium cations, are discussed in relation to the pKa of the amine.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of triazacycloalkanes (pqr-cy), with p, q, r = 2–6, have been prepared and characterized by means of electronic and i.r. spectroscopy, and by magnetic measurements. With nickel(II) mononuclear octahedral complexes [Ni(pgr-cy)2](CI04)2 are formed, but for copper(II) mononuclear octahedral complexes were obtained only for 222-cy and 223-cy. The other ligands gave copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(pgr-cy)CI]CIO4, [Cu(pgr-cy)OH]ClO4, Or [Cu(pgr-cy)CI1/2OH1/2]ClO4. The hydroxy complexes have low magnetic moments and binuclear hydroxy bridged structures are proposed.Ligand names: e.g. p = q = r = 2 is 1,4,7-triazacvclononane  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes with the Schiff base derived from 2-(2-aminophenyl)benzimidazole and salicylaldehyde, L, have been prepared. They are of the general types ML2X2 (M = Ni or Cu and X = Cl, Br, NO3 or ClO4) and NiL(NCS)2.The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, e.s.r., electronic and i.r. spectra studies. The i.r. spectra suggest that the molecule, and not the anion, of the Schiff base is coordinated as a bidentate ligand with the metal ion. Summary The syntheses of the complexes [Rh2(ap)4X] (ap = the heterocyclic anion of 2-aminopyridine; X = Cl or Br) are described. The complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, i.r., e.s.r. and electronic absorption spectra, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The 2-aminopyridine anion behaves as bridging ligand, coordinatingvia the pyridine and amine nitrogen atoms in a way analogous to that in the dinuclear rhodium(II) carboxylates.  相似文献

Summary Polymeric copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes of the type M2L where M = CuII, NiII or CoII and H4L = disalicylaldimine oxamide (H4A), di(o-hydroxyacetophenoneimine)oxamide (H4B), disalicylaldimine succinamide (H4C) or di(o-hydroxyacetophenoneimine)succinamide (H4D), have been synthesized and characterized by analysis, i.r. and electronic spectra and magnetic moment data. Copper(II) complexes and some of the nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes are planar while other nickel(II) complexes are distorted octahedral and other cobalt(H) complexes are square pyramidal. Anomalously low magnetic moments of some complexes have been related to M-M interactionsvia oxo-bridge structures.  相似文献

Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes [M(CM)2]X2 (X = BF4 or NO3) have been prepared with cimetidine (CM). Powder data, molar conductivities, magnetic moments, i.r. and electronic spectra support apseudo-octahedral stereochemistry with MN2N 2 S2 chromophore and tentative structures are proposed for the complexes. Summary When platinum(II) chloride dissolved in acetic acid containing concentrated hydrochloric acid was refluxed withN-phenylpyrazole(liphpz) andN-(p-tolyl)pyrazole (Htlpz), complexes of composition [Pt(N-C)Cl]2 (N-C = phpz, tlpz) were obtained, in which phpz and tlpz are coordinated through nitrogen and carbon forming a five membered metallocycle. Similar palladium(II) complexes [Pd(N-C)Cl]2 were easily prepared by the reaction of palladium(II) chloride with Hphpz and Htlpz in methanol in the presence of lithium chloride. These [M(N-C)CI]2 complexes reacted with tri-n-butylphosphine (PBu3) and pyridine (py) to give the adducts [M(N-C)ClL](L = PBu3, py). Ethylenediamine(en) and acetylacetone(Hacac) gave IPd(phpz)(en)]Cl and [Pd(phpz)(acac)] respectively. These new complexes are characterized by means of1H-n.m.r. and i.r. spectra, and probable structures are proposed.Reprints of this article are not available.  相似文献

Summary Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole Ni(DTZ)X2 (X = Cl or Br) and M(DTZ)2X2 (M = Ni, X = 1 or N03; M = Cu, X = Cl, Br or NO3) have been prepared. The i.r. spectra show that in all the complexes the ligand is N,N- or N-bonded to the metal while the sulfur atom does not participate in coordination, and that the halide ions are coordinated forming terminal M-X bonds. The NO 3 - group is coordinated in both the nitrato complexes. Magnetic moments of 3.07–3.29 B.M. for the nickel(II) and 1.86–1.92 B.M. for the copper(II) complexes were observed. The Ni(DTZ)X2 complexes have a pseudo-tetrahedral [N2X2] coordination with N,N-bridging ligand molecules. The Ni(DTZ)2X2 and Cu(DTZ)2X2 complexes, with predominantly monodentate ligand, involve six-coordinate metal atoms with strong equatorial [N2X2] bonds and weaker axial bonds.Author to whom all correspondence should be directed.  相似文献

New Schiff bases have been synthesized from benzofuran-2-carbohydrazide and benzaldehyde, [BPMC] or 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde, [BDMeOPMC]; complexes of the type MLX2, where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), L = BPMC or BDMeOPMC and X = Cl, have been prepared. Structures have been elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis, conductance measurements, magnetic properties, spectral studies i.e., 1H NMR, electronic, ESR and IR studies show that the Schiff bases are bidentate through the azomethine nitrogen and oxygen of the carbonyl. We propose tentative structures for all of these complexes. The antifungal and antibacterial activities of the ligands and their metal complexes have been screened against fungi Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus fumigatus and against bacteria Escherichia coli and S. aurious.  相似文献

Summary Coordination compounds formed by the interaction of manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) chloride and bromide with 4-cyanoaniline (4-CA) have been prepared and characterized by molar conductance, magnetic susceptibilities, electronic and i.r. spectral measurements down to 200 cm–1 in the solid state. The isolated complexes are M(4-CA)2X2 except for nickel(II) bromide which is NI(4-CA)4Br2. I.r. spectra, indicate that 4-CA, though a potentially bidentate ligand, nevertheless acts only as a terminally aniline (NH2) bonded monodentate ligand in all the complexes. Tentative stereochemistries of the complexes have been suggested in the solid state.  相似文献

Summary As an approach to systems containing methionine residues, 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one (HDh, dehydroacetic acid) was treated with L-methionine (MetH) or L-methionine methylester (MetM). By condensation at the acyl group and transfer of the phenolic hydrogen on the nitrogen atom, the related ligands DhMetH and DhMetM, were isolated, and form complexes of formula [MX2(L)2](M = Pd or Pt, L = DhMetM, X = Cl, Br or I; L = DhMetH, X = Cl or Br) and [MI2(DhMetH)] with palladium and platinum dihalides. The reaction of the DhMetK carboxylate with MCl2 in various media is discussed. Ligands and complexes were characterized by i.r. and n.m.r. (1H and13C) spectroscopy and, in some cases, by thermogravimetric measurements. The ligands behave as monodentate sulphur donors, the 12 complexes showing atrans geometry except for [PtCl2(DhMetH)2], which is probably a mixture ofcis andtrans isomers.  相似文献

Summary The preparation and characterization of CuII, CoII, NiII and HgII complexes containing 1,4-diphenylthiosemicarbazide (DPhTSC) of the type [Cu(DPhTSC-H)X.H2O]nH2O (X= Cl, Br or Ac; n=0 or 1) · [M(DPhTSC-H)2yH2O] (M=CoII or NiII; y=0 or 1) and [Hg(DPhTSC)Cl2]2 H2O and [Cu(D-PhTSC)2SO4]H2O are reported. The stereochemistry of the complexes have been studied with the help of magnetic and electronic measurements. The anomalous magnetic moments observed in all cases have been explained. Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 3, 5-dimethyl-1-(4, 6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidyl)pyrazole (DPymPz) have been synthesized and characterized. Magnetic and electronic spectral features show that both [M(DPymPz)2X2nH2O [M=cobalt(II) or nickel(II), X=Cl, Br, I, SCN, NO3, ClO4 or BF4 andn=0 or 2] and [Cu(DPymPz)X2(H2O)2] (X=Cl, Br or SCN) are essentially octahedral species. The i.r. spectra indicate that DPymPz is a neutral bidentate ligand being the pyrazolyl and one pyrimidyl ring nitrogen. Summary Synthesis of a new Schiff base derived from salicylaldehyde and 5-methylpyrazole-3-carbohydrazide, and its coordination compounds with nickel(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), manganese(II), zinc(II), zirconium(IV), dioxouranium(VI) and dioxomolybdenum(VI) are described. The ligand and the complexes have been characterized on the basis of analytical, conductance, molecular weight, i.r., electronic and n.m.r. spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The stoichiometries of the complexes are represented as NiL · 3H2O, CoL · 2H2O, CuL, MnL · 2H2O, ZnL · H2O, Zr(OH)2(LH)2, Zr(OH)2L · 2MeOH, UO2L · MeOH and MoO2L · MeOH (where LH2 = Schiff base). The copper(II) complex shows a subnormal magnetic moment due to antiferromagnetic exchange interaction while the nickel(II), cobalt(II) and manganese (II) complexes show normal magnetic moments at room temperature. The i.r. and n.m.r. spectral studies show that the Schiff base behaves as a dibasic and tridentate ligand coordinating through the deprotonated phenolic.oxygen, enolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen.  相似文献

The following zinc(II), cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes of 4,6-dimethylpyrimidine-2(1H)-one (L) have been prepared and investigated by conductometric,IR and Raman methods: MX2L2 (M = Zn, X = Cl, Br(CHCl3, I(CHCl3, CF3COO; M = Cd, X = Cl, Br CF3COO; M = Hg, X = Cl, CF3COO), Cd2I4L3, Hg3X6L2 (X = Cl, Br), Hg3X6L4(X = Br, I), MX2L4·6H2O (M = Zn, Cd, X = CIO4, BF4; M = Hg, X = CIO4. The ligand is principally bonded through the unprotonated nitrogen atom and in some complexes also through the carbonylic oxygen atom. The zinc halide complexes are tetrahedrally coordinated, the trifluoroacetate ion is coordinated as a monodentate ligand.  相似文献

Summary A variety of metal(II) complexes of 2-carbethoxypyridine (L) have been prepared and characterised. With metal(II) chlorides the bis complexes can be formulated [ML2Cl2]o (M=CuII, NiII, CoII, FeII or MnII). The complexes are six-coordinate with 2-carbethoxypyridine acting as a bidentate ligandvia the pyridine nitrogen and the carbonyl group of the ester. The chloro complexes are nonelectrolytes in nitroethane; magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r. and d-d electronic spectra are reported. With metal(II) perchlorate salts the complexes can be formulated as six-coordinate [ML2 (OH2)2] [ClO4]2 species containing ionic perchlorate. The ester exchanges of some of these complexes with a variety of primary alcohols have been investigated.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II) complexes of general formula [Cu(L4A)X] (where L4A is the deprotonated ligand, 1 H-hexahydroazepine-1-thiocarboxylic acid-2-[1-(2-pyridinyl)ethylidene]hydrazide and X=Cl, Br, I, NCS, NO3 and OAc) and [Cu(HL4A)(L4A)]ClO4 have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r. spectra, electronic spectra, conductivity measurements and e.s.r. spectra in the polycrystalline state and in chloroform solution. For all complexes, except the perchlorate salt, coordination occurs via imine nitrogen, pyridine nitrogen and thione sulphur. For the perchlorate salt, L4A is tridentate, while HL4A is monodentate via imine nitrogen. Electronic spectra suggest planar geometry for all the complexes. The calculated e.s.r parameters suggest coordination through sulphur in agreement with the i.r. results.  相似文献
