Amemiya Norm Equals Orlicz Norm in Musielak-Orlicz Spaces

Let （Ω,μ） be a a-finite measure space and Φ ： Ω × [0,∞） → [0, ∞] be a Musielak-Orlicz function. Denote by L^Φ（Ω） the Musielak-Orlicz space generated by Φ. We prove that the Amemiya norm equals the Orlicz norm in L^Φ（Ω）.     

Orlicz spaces without extreme points

Orlicz function and sequence spaces unit balls of which have no extreme points are completely characterized for both (the Orlicz and the Luxemburg) norms. Their subspaces of order continuous elements, with the norms induced from the whole Orlicz spaces without extreme points in their unit balls are also characterized. The well-known spaces L₁ and c₀ with unit balls without extreme points are covered by our results. Moreover, a new example of a Banach space without extreme points in its unit ball is given (see Example 1). This is the subspace a(L₁+L_∞) of order continuous elements of the space L₁+L_∞ equipped with the norm whenever 0<a<∞ and μ(T)>1/a.     

The Lyapunov Theorem for Measures Valued in Orlicz Sequence Spaces

It is proved that the closure of the range of a nonatomic countably additive measure with values in an Orlicz space l _M, where 2 [_M,_M], is convex.     

On Hardy - Littlewood Maximal Functions in Orlicz Spaces

Let Φ(t) and Ψ(t) be the functions having the following representations Φ(t) = ∫a(s)ds and Ψ(t) = ∫b(s) ds, where a(s) is a positive continuous function such that ∫a(s)/s ds = + ∞ and b(s) is an increasing function such that lim_s→ ∞ b(s) = + ∞. Then the following statements for the Hardy - Littlewood maximal function M f (x) are equivalent:

Approximation of Vector Valued Functions

In this paper, we extend the well-known result of Lipschitz approximation of lower semi-continuous functions to a class of lattice valued vector functions. We then use this approximation to get convergence results and we give two applications to the law of large numbers and to an ergodic theorem.

A new premium calculation principle based on Orlicz norms

A multiplicative equivalent of the zero utility premium calculation principle is introduced. If the utility function happens to be a normalized Young function the new premium calculation principle is related to Orlicz norms.     

On a Class of Generalized Lacunary Difference Sequence Spaces Defined by Orlicz Functions

In this article we introduce the generalized lacunary difference sequence spaces [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_0,[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_1 and [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_∞using m~(th)- difference.We study their properties like completeness,solidness,symmetricity.Also we obtain some inclusion relations involving the spaces [N_θ,M,Δ~m]_0,[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_1 and[N_θ,M,Δ~m]_∞and the Cesàro summable and strongly Cesàro summable sequences.

On weak uniform normal structure in weighted Orlicz sequence spaces

It is proved that a weighted Orlicz sequence space ?M(w), equipped with Luxemburg or Amemiya norm has weak uniform normal structure iff ?M(w)≅hM(w) for wide class of weight sequences . An example is constructed, where M has not Δ₂-condition but by choosing a suitable weight sequence limn→∞wn=∞ we get that ?M(w) has weak uniform normal structure.     

Analytic norms in Orlicz spaces

It is shown that an Orlicz sequence space admits an equivalent analytic renorming if and only if it is either isomorphic to or isomorphically polyhedral. As a consequence, we show that there exists a separable Banach space admitting an equivalent -Fréchet norm, but no equivalent analytic norm.

Muntz Rational Approximation for Special Function Classes in Orlicz Spaces

Using the method of construction,with the help of inequalities,we research the Muntz rational approximation of two kinds of special function classes,and give the corresponding estimates of approximation rates of these classes under widely conditions.Because of the Orlicz Spaces is bigger than continuous function space and the Lp space,so the results of this paper has a certain expansion significance.
