The synthesis, structural, and photophysical investigations of CuI complexes with a disilanylene-bridged bispyridine ligand 1 are herein presented. Dinuclear (2) and ladder-like (3) octanuclear copper(I) complexes were straightforwardly prepared by exactly controlling the ratio of CuI/ligand 1. Single-crystal X-ray analysis confirmed that dinuclear complex 2 had no apparent π…π stacking whereas octanuclear complex 3 had π…π stacking in the crystal packing. In the solid state, the complexes display yellow-green (λem = 519 nm, Φ = 0.60, τ = 11 µs, 2) and blue (λem = 478 nm, Φ = 0.04, τ = 2.6 µs, 3) phosphorescence, respectively. The density functional theory calculations validate the differences in their optical properties. The difference in the luminescence efficiency between 2 and 3 is attributed to the presence of π…π stacking and the different luminescence processes.  相似文献

A solvothermal reaction of Cu(CN) with triphenylphosphine yielded a double-chain coordination polymer of the formula C20H15Cu2N2P (I). X-ray diffraction study shows that complex I crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n, with lattice parameters a = 9.3017(8), b = 12.4273(13), c = 16.0505(15) Å, β = 91.688(6)°, V = 1854.6(3) Å3, Z = 4, and ρcalcd = 1.581 mg m?3. The Cu(I) atoms show difference in the coordination environment. Complex I emits strong blue fluorescence light (λem(max) = 516 nm), when it is excited by the UV light (λexc(max) = 250 nm) in the solid state at room temperature.  相似文献

Four new lanthanide coordination polymers, [Y(Hnip)(nip)(H2O)]·H2O (1), [Ln(Hnip)(nip)(H2O)2]·2H2O [Ln=Eu(2), Tb(3)] and [Y(nip)2]·(H24,4′-bpy)0.5 (4) [5-nip=5-nitroisophthalate, 4,4′-bpy=4,4′-bipyridine], have been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 features novel lanthanide-carboxylate groups chains composed of three samehanded helical strands intersecting each other through hinged lanthanide atoms, and these chains are cross-linked by phenylene moieties of carboxylate ligands into a 2D layer structure. Compounds 2 and 3 are isomorphous, and contain 1D catenanelike Ln-O-C-O-Ln chains, which are interconnected by phenylene moieties into 2D layer structures. Compound 4, however, displays a 3D architecture sustained by strong hydrogen bonding interactions between the protonated 4,4′-bpy and the carboxyl oxygen atom from [Y2(nip)4]2− with 2D layer structure, and 4,4′-bpy as the guest molecules exist in bilayer channel. The studies for the thermal stabilities of the four compounds show that compound 4 is more stable than other compounds. Compound 2 emits characteristic red luminescence of Eu3+ ions at room temperature, and its luminescent lifetime and quantum efficiency has been determined.  相似文献

The octanuclear Co(ii) cubic coordination cage system H (or HW if it bears external water-solubilising substituents) has two types of binding site for guests. These are (i) the partially-enclosed central cavity where neutral hydrophobic organic species can bind, and (ii) the six ''portals'' in the centres of each of the faces of the cubic cage where anions bind via formation of a network of CH⋯X hydrogen bonds between the anion and CH units on the positively-charged cage surface, as demonstrated by a set of crystal structures. The near-orthogonality of these guest binding modes provides the basis for an unusual dual-probe fluorescence displacement assay in which either a cavity-bound fluorophore (4-methyl-7-amino-coumarin, MAC; λem = 440 nm), or a surface-bound anionic fluorophore (fluorescein, FLU; λem = 515 nm), is displaced and has its emission ‘switched on’ according to whether the analyte under investigation is cavity-binding, surface binding, or a combination of both. A completely orthogonal system is demonstrated based using a Hw/MAC/FLU combination: addition of the anionic analyte ascorbate displaced solely FLU from the cage surface, increasing the 515 nm (green) emission component, whereas addition of a neutral hydrophobic guest such as cyclooctanone displaced solely MAC from the cage central cavity, increasing the 440 nm (blue) emission component. Addition of chloride results in some release of both components, and an intermediate colour change, as chloride is a rare example of a guest that shows both surface-binding and cavity-binding behaviour. Thus we have a colourimetric response based on differing contributions from blue and green emission components in which the specific colour change signals the binding mode of the analyte. Addition of a fixed red emission component from the complex [Ru(bipy)3]2+ (Ru) provides a baseline colour shift of the overall colour of the luminescence closer to neutral, meaning that different types of guest binding result in different colour changes which are easily distinguishable by eye.

Orthogonal binding of neutral or anionic fluorophores to the cavity or surface, respectively, of a coordination cage host allows a dual-probe displacement assay which gives a different fluorescence colorimetric response according to where analyte species bind.  相似文献

Transfer reagents are useful tools in chemistry to access metastable compounds. The reaction of [Cp′′2ZrCl2] with KSb(SiMe3)2 leads to the formation of the novel polyantimony triple decker complex [(Cp′′Zr)2(μ,η1:1:1:1:1:1-Sb6)] (1, Cp′′ = 1,3-di-tertbutyl-cyclopentadienyl), containing a chair-like Sb66− ligand. Compound 1 represents a valuable transfer reagent to form novel antimony ligand complexes. Thus, the reaction of 1 with CpR-substituted transition metal halides of nickel, cobalt and iron leads to the formation of a variety of novel Sbn ligand complexes, such as the cubane-like compounds [(Cp′′′Ni)43-Sb)4] (2) and [(Cp′′′Co)43-Sb4)] (3a) or the complexes [(CpBnCo)33-Sb)2] (4) and [(Cp′′′Fe)33-Sb)2] (5), representing a trigonal bipyramidal structure. Moreover, beside the transfer of Sb1 units, also the complete entity can be transferred as seen in the iron complex [(Cp′′′Fe)33,η4:4:4-Sb6)] (6). DFT calculations shed light on the bonding situation of the products.

The synthesis and characterization of the unique polyantimony complex [(Cp′′Zr)2(μ,η1:1:1:1:1:1-Sb6)] (1) is described. Compound 1 was used as antimony source to transfer Sbn units to late transition metal fragments [CpRM] (M = Fe, Co, Ni).  相似文献

Two novel In(III) complexes, [In(bna)(Hbna)]n (1) and [In2(bna)2(μ2-OH)2]n·4nH2O (2) (H2bna=2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl-3,3′-dicarboxylate acid), have been reported. Complex 1 adopts a 2D layer structure, where each layer composed from homochiral ligands is chiral while the ligands in two neighboring layers are enantiomer. Complex 2 is constructed by individual -In-O-In- chains, which are further connected by bna2− into a 3D honeycomb framework. As a derivative of H2bna ligand, dmbna (3) was recrystallized for structurally comparison with 1-2 (dmbna=dimethyl 2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl-3,3′-dicarboxylate). X-ray powder diffractions (XRD) and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) for 1-2 show that they are highly thermally stable in the solid state. Complexes 1 and 2 exhibit the intense yellow luminescence at 573 nm and blue luminescence at 459 nm at room temperature, respectively. And an astonishing blue shift of 105 nm is observed for complex 1 when it is measured at 10 K.  相似文献

The complex is characterized by the green luminescence (λexc = 380 nm, λem = 550 nm).  相似文献

Despite longstanding interest in the mechanism of salt dissolution in aqueous media, a molecular level understanding remains incomplete. Here, cryogenic ion trap vibrational action spectroscopy is combined with electronic structure calculations to track salt hydration in a gas phase model system one water molecule at a time. The infrared photodissociation spectra of microhydrated lithium dihalide anions [LiXX′(H2O)n] (XX′ = I2, ClI and Cl2; n = 1–3) in the OH stretching region (3800–2800 cm−1) provide a detailed picture of how anion polarizability influences the competition among ion–ion, ion–water and water–water interactions. While exclusively contact ion pairs are observed for n = 1, the formation of solvent-shared ion pairs, identified by markedly red-shifted OH stretching bands (<3200 cm−1), originating from the bridging water molecules, is favored already for n = 2. For n = 3, Li+ reaches its maximum coordination number of four only in [LiI2(H2O)3], in accordance with the hard and soft Lewis acid and base principle. Water–water hydrogen bond formation leads to a different solvent-shared ion pair motif in [LiI2(H2O)3] and network formation even restabilizes the contact ion pair motif in [LiCl2(H2O)3]. Structural assignments are exclusively possible after the consideration of anharmonic effects. Molecular dynamics simulations confirm that the significance of large amplitude motion (of the water molecules) increases with increasing anion polarizability and that needs to be considered already at cryogenic temperatures.

Infrared spectroscopy of microhydrated salt clusters provides a detailed picture of how anion polarizability influences the interactions between ions and water.  相似文献

A series of novel cobalt bis(dicarbollide) based amidines were synthesized by the nucleophilic addition of primary and secondary amines to highly activated B-N+≡C–R triple bond of the propionitrilium derivative [8-EtC≡N-3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H10)(1′,2′-C2B9H11)]. The reactions with primary amines result in the formation of mixtures of E and Z isomers of amidines, whereas the reactions with secondary amines lead selectively to the E-isomers. The crystal molecular structures of E-[8-EtC(NMe2)=HN-3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H10)(1′,2′-C2B9H11)], E-[8-EtC(NEt2)=HN-3,3′-Co(1,2- C2B9H10)(1′,2′-C2B9H11)] and E-[8-EtC(NC5H10)=HN-3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H10)(1′,2′-C2B9H11)] were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Cooperative dual site activation of boranes by redox-active 1,3-N,S-chelated ruthenium species, mer-[PR32-N,S-(L)}2Ru{κ1-S-(L)}], (mer-2a: R = Cy, mer-2b: R = Ph; L = NC7H4S2), generated from the aerial oxidation of borate complexes, [PR32-N,S-(L)}Ru{κ3-H,S,S′-BH2(L)2}] (transmer-1a: R = Cy, transmer-1b: R = Ph; L = NC7H4S2), has been investigated. Utilizing the rich electronic behaviour of these 1,3-N,S-chelated ruthenium species, we have established that a combination of redox-active ligands and metal–ligand cooperativity has a big influence on the multisite borane activation. For example, treatment of mer-2a–b with BH3·THF led to the isolation of fac-[PR3Ru{κ3-H,S,S′-(NH2BSBH2N)(S2C7H4)2}] (fac-3a: R = Cy and fac-3b: R = Ph) that captured boranes at both sites of the κ2-N,S-chelated ruthenacycles. The core structure of fac-3a and fac-3b consists of two five-membered ruthenacycles [RuBNCS] which are fused by one butterfly moiety [RuB2S]. Analogous fac-3c, [PPh3Ru{κ3-H,S,S′-(NH2BSBH2N)(SC5H4)2}], can also be synthesized from the reaction of BH3·THF with [PPh32-N,S-(SNC5H4)}{κ3-H,S,S′-BH2(SNH4C5)2}Ru], cisfac-1c. In stark contrast, when mer-2b was treated with BH2Mes (Mes = 2,4,6-trimethyl phenyl) it led to the formation of trans- and cis-bis(dihydroborate) complexes [{κ3-S,H,H-(NH2BMes)Ru(S2C7H4)}2], (trans-4 and cis-4). Both the complexes have two five-membered [Ru–(H)2–B–NCS] ruthenacycles with κ2-H–H coordination modes. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that the activation of boranes across the dual Ru–N site is more facile than the Ru–S one.

Redox-active ruthenium complexes supported by hemilabile κ2-N,S-chelated ruthenacycles undergo unusual dual site B–H bond activation through metal–ligand cooperation with free and bulky boranes.  相似文献

A series of luminescent iridium(iii) complexes were synthesised and evaluated for their ability to act as luminescent G-quadruplex-selective probes. The iridium(iii) complex 9 [Ir(pbi)2(5,5-dmbpy)]PF6 (where pbi = 2-phenyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole; 5,5-dmbpy = 5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) exhibited high luminescence for G-quadruplex DNA compared to dsDNA and ssDNA, and was employed to construct a G-quadruplex-based assay for protein tyrosine kinase-7 (PTK7) in aqueous solution. PTK7 is an important biomarker for a range of leukemias and solid tumors. In the presence of PTK7, the specific binding of the sgc8 aptamer sequence triggers a structural transition and releases the G-quadruplex-forming sequence. The formation of the nascent G-quadruplex structure is then detected by the G-quadruplex-selective iridium(iii) complex with an enhanced luminescent response. Moreover, the application of the assay for detecting PTK7 in cellular debris and membrane protein extract was demonstrated. To our knowledge, this is the first G-quadruplex-based assay for PTK7.  相似文献

High-spin, late transition metal imido complexes have attracted significant interest due to their group transfer reactivity and catalytic C–H activation of organic substrates. Reaction of a new two-coordinate iron complex, Fe{N(tBu)Dipp}2 (1, Dipp = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl), with mesitylazide (MesN3) afforded a three-coordinate Fe–imidyl complex, Fe{N(tBu)Dipp}2( Created by potrace 1.16, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2019 NMes) (2). X-ray crystallographic characterization of single crystals of 2 showed a long Fe–N distance of 1.761(1) Å. Combined magnetic and spectroscopic (Mössbauer and X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopy, XANES) characterization of 2 suggests that it has an S = 2 ground state comprising an S = 5/2 Fe(iii) center antiferromagnetically coupled to an S = 1/2 imidyl ligand. Reaction of 1 and 1-azidoadamantane (AdN3) generated a putative, transient Fe{N(tBu)Dipp}2( Created by potrace 1.16, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2019 NAd) (3′) complex that yielded an intramolecular C–H amination product, Fe{N(tBu)Dipp}{κ2-N,N′-_N(CMe2CHNHAd)Dipp} (3). Quantum mechanical calculations further confirmed the spectroscopic assignment of 2 and 3′, as well as the differences in their stability and reactivity. Importantly, imidyl radical delocalization onto the mesityl ring significantly increased the stability of 2 and reduced its reactivity toward potential hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reagents. In contrast, quantum mechanical calculations of 3′ revealed that the radical was solely localized on the imidyl N, leading to a high reactivity toward the proximal C–H bond of the N(tBu)Dipp ligand.

A stable three-coordinate Fe imido radical (i.e. imidyl) complex can be stabilized via N radical delocalization onto the aryl imido substituent.  相似文献

A novel Zn(II) metal-organic framework [Zn4O(C30H12F4O4S8)3]n, namely ZnBPD-4F4TS, has been constructed from a fluoro- and thiophenethio-functionalized ligand 2,2′,5,5′-tetrafluoro-3,3′,6,6′-tetrakis(2-thiophenethio)-4,4′-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid (H2BPD-4F4TS). ZnBPD-4F4TS shows a broad green emission around 520 nm in solid state luminescence, with a Commission International De L’Eclairage (CIE) coordinate at x = 0.264, y = 0.403. Since d10-configured Zn(II) is electrochemically inert, its photoluminescence is likely ascribed to ligand-based luminescence which originates from the well-conjugated system of phenyl and thiophenethio moieties. Its luminescent intensities diminish to different extents when exposed to various metal ions, indicating its potential as an optical sensor for detecting metal ion species. Furthermore, ZnBPD-4F4TS and its NH4Br-loaded composite, NH4Br@ZnBPD-4F4TS, were used for proton conduction measurements in different relative humidity (RH) levels and temperatures. Original ZnBPD-4F4TS shows a low proton conductivity of 9.47 × 10−10 S cm−1 while NH4Br@ZnBPD-4F4TS shows a more than 25,000-fold enhanced value of 2.38 × 105 S cm−1 at 40 °C and 90% RH. Both of the proton transport processes in ZnBPD-4F4TS and NH4Br@ZnBPD-4F4TS belong to the Grotthuss mechanism with Ea = 0.40 and 0.32 eV, respectively.  相似文献

Three principal factors may influence the final structure of coordination polymers (CPs): (i) the nature of the ligand, (ii) the type and coordination number of the metal center, and (iii) the reaction conditions. Further, flexible carboxylate aliphatic ligands have been widely employed as building blocks for designing and synthesizing CPs, resulting in a diverse array of materials with exciting architectures, porosities, dimensionalities, and topologies as well as an increasing number of properties and applications. These ligands show different structural features, such as torsion angles, carbon backbone number, and coordination modes, which affect the desired products and so enable the generation of polymorphs or crystalline phases. Additionally, due to their large coordination numbers, using 4f and 5f metals as coordination centers combined with aliphatic ligands increases the possibility of obtaining different crystal phases. Additionally, by varying the synthetic conditions, we may control the production of a specific solid phase by understanding the thermodynamic and kinetic factors that influence the self-assembly process. This revision highlights the relationship between the structural variety of CPs based on flexible carboxylate aliphatic ligands and f-elements (lanthanide and actinides) and their outstanding luminescent properties such as solid-state emissions, sensing, and photocatalysis. In this sense, we present a structural analysis of the CPs reported with the oxalate ligand, as the one rigid ligand of the family, and other flexible dicarboxylate linkers with –CH2– spacers. Additionally, the nature of the luminescence properties of the 4f or 5f-CPs is analyzed, and finally, we present a novel set of CPs using a glutarate-derived ligand and samarium, with the formula [2,2′-bipyH][Sm(HFG)2 (2,2′-bipy) (H2O)2]•(2,2′-bipy) (α-Sm) and [2,2′-bipyH][Sm(HFG)2 (2,2′-bipy) (H2O)2] (β-Sm).  相似文献

Thermodynamically favored simultaneous coordination of Pt(ii) corners with aza- and carboxylate ligands yields tricomponent coordination complexes with sophisticated structures and functions, which require careful structural characterization to paint accurate depiction of their structure–function relationships. Previous reports claimed that heteroleptic coordination of cis-(Et3P)2PtII with tetrapyridyl porphyrins (M′TPP, M′ = Zn or H2) and dicarboxylate ligands (XDC) yielded 3D tetragonal prisms containing two horizontal M′TPP faces and four vertical XDC pillars connected by eight Pt(ii) corners, even though such structures were not supported by their 1H NMR data. Through extensive X-ray crystallographic and NMR studies, herein, we demonstrate that self-assembly of cis-(Et3P)2PtII, M′TPP, and four different XDC linkers having varied lengths and rigidities actually yields bow-tie (⋈)-shaped 2D [{cis-(Et3P)2Pt}4(M′TPP) (XDC)2]4+ complexes featuring a M′TPP core and two parallel XDC linkers connected by four heteroleptic PtII corners instead of 3D prisms. This happened because (i) irrespective of their length (∼7–11 Å) and rigidity, the XDC linkers intramolecularly bridged two adjacent pyridyl-N atoms of a M′TPP core via PtII corners instead of connecting two cofacial M′TPP ligands and (ii) bow-tie complexes are entropically favored over prisms. The electron-rich ZnTPP core of a representative bow-tie complex selectively formed a charge-transfer complex with highly π-acidic 1,4,5,8,9,12-hexaazatriphenylene-2,3,6,7,10,11-heaxacarbonitrile but not with a π-donor such as pyrene. Thus, this work not only produced novel M′TPP-based bow-tie complexes and demonstrated their selective π-acid recognition capability, but also underscored the importance of proper structural characterization of supramolecular assemblies to ensure accurate depiction of their structure–property relationships.

Thermodynamically favored heteroleptic coordination of Pt(ii) corners with tetrapyridyl porphyrins and dicarboxylate ligands produces 2D bow-tie shaped complexes instead of previously mischaracterized 3D tetragonal prisms.  相似文献

Complexation of the 8,8′-bis(methylsulfanyl) derivatives of cobalt and iron bis(dicarbollides) [8,8′-(MeS)2-3,3′-M(1,2-C2B9H10)2] (M = Co, Fe) with copper, silver, palladium and rhodium leads to the formation of the corresponding chelate complexes, which is accompanied by a transition from the transoid to the cisoid conformation of the bis(dicarbollide) complex. This transition is reversible and can be used in design of coordination-driven molecular switches based on transition metal bis(dicarbollide) complexes. The solid-state structures of {(Ph3P)ClPd[8,8′- (MeS)2-3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H10)22-S,S′]} and {(COD)Rh[8,8′-(MeS)2-3,3′-Co(1,2-C2B9H10)22-S,S′]} were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

We report on a luminescent phenomenon in Dy3+-doped SrSiO3 long-lasting phosphor. After irradiation by a 254-nm UV lamp for 5 min, the Dy3+-doped SrSiO3 phosphor emits white light-emitting long-lasting phosphorescence for more than 1 h even after the irradiation source has been removed. Photoluminescence, long-lasting phosphorescence and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra are used to explain this phenomenon. Photoluminescence spectra reveal that the white light-emitting long-lasting phosphorescence originated from the two mixtures of Dy3+ characteristic luminescence, the 480-nm blue emission (4F9/26H15/2) and the 572-nm yellow emission (4F9/26H13/2). TL spectra shows that the introduction of Dy3+ ions into the SrSiO3 host produces a highly dense trapping level at 377 K (0.59 eV), which is responsible for the long-lasting phosphorescence at room temperature. A possible mechanism of the long-lasting phosphorescence based on the experimental results is proposed. It is considered that the long-lasting phosphorescence is due to persistent energy transfer from the electron traps to the Dy3+ ions, which creates the persistent luminescence of Dy3+ to produce the white light-emitting long-lasting phosphorescence.  相似文献

Two novel copper(II) complexes of formulas {[Cu(4-Hmpz)4][Cu(4-Hmpz)23-ox-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′)(ClO4)2]}n (1) and {[Cu(3,4,5-Htmpz)4]2[Cu(3,4,5-Htmpz)23-ox-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′)(H2O)(ClO4)]2[Cu2(3,4,5-Htmpz)4(µ-ox-κ2O1,O2:κ2O2′,O1′)]}(ClO4)4·6H2O (2) have been obtained by using 4-methyl-1H-pyrazole (4-Hmpz) and 3,4,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazole (3,4,5-Htmpz) as terminal ligands and oxalate (ox) as the polyatomic inverse coordination center. The crystal structure of 1 consists of perchlorate counteranions and cationic copper(II) chains with alternating bis(pyrazole)(µ3-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′-oxalato)copper(II) and tetrakis(pyrazole)copper(II) fragments. The crystal structure of 2 is made up of perchlorate counteranions and cationic centrosymmetric hexanuclear complexes where an inner tetrakis(pyrazole)(µ-κ2O1,O2:κ2O2′,O1′-oxalato)dicopper(II) entity and two outer mononuclear tetrakis(pyrazole)copper(II) units are linked through two mononuclear aquabis(pyrazole)(µ3-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′-oxalato)copper(II) units. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 were investigated in the temperature range 2.0–300 K. Very weak intrachain antiferromagnetic interactions between the copper(II) ions through the µ3-ox-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′ center occur in 1 [J = −0.42(1) cm−1, the spin Hamiltonian being defined as H = −J∑S1,i · S2,i+1], whereas very weak intramolecular ferromagnetic [J = +0.28(2) cm−1] and strong antiferromagnetic [J’ = −348(2) cm−1] couplings coexist in 2 which are mediated by the µ3-ox-κ2O1,O2:κO2′:κO1′ and µ-ox-κ2O1,O2:κ2O2′,O1′ centers, respectively. The variation in the nature and magnitude of the magnetic coupling for this pair of oxalato-centered inverse copper(II) complexes is discussed in the light of their different structural features, and a comparison with related oxalato-centered inverse copper(II)-pyrazole systems from the literature is carried out.  相似文献

An alkylamide-substituted (−NHCOC10H21) hydrogen-bonded dibenzo[18]crown-6 derivative (1) was prepared to stabilise the ionic channel structure in a discotic hexagonal columnar (Colh) liquid crystal. The introduction of simple M+X salts such as Na+PF6 and K+I into the ionic channel of 1 enhanced the ionic conductivity of the Colh phase of the M+·(1)·X salts, with the highest ionic conductivity reaching ∼10−6 S cm−1 for K+·(1)·I and Na+·(1)·PF6 at 460 K, which was approximately 5 orders of magnitude higher than that of 1. The introduction of non-ferroelectric 1 into the ferroelectric N,N′,N′′-tri(tetradecyl)-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxamide (3BC) elicited a ferroelectric response from the mixed Colh phase of (3BC)x(1)1−x with x = 0.9 and 0.8. The further doping of M+X into the ferroelectric Colh phase of (3BC)0.9(1)0.1 enhanced the ferroelectric polarisation assisted by ion displacement in the half-filled ionic channel for the vacant dibenzo[18]crown-6 of (3BC)0.9[(M+)0.5·(1)·(X)0.5]0.1.

Nitric oxide (NO) is an important signaling molecule in biological systems, and as such, the ability of porous materials to reversibly adsorb NO is of interest for potential medical applications. Although certain metal–organic frameworks are known to bind NO reversibly at coordinatively unsaturated metal sites, the influence of the metal coordination environment on NO adsorption has not been studied in detail. Here, we examine NO adsorption in the frameworks Co2Cl2(bbta) (H2bbta = 1H,5H-benzo(1,2-d:4,5-d′)bistriazole) and Co2(OH)2(bbta) using gas adsorption, infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and magnetometry. At room temperature, NO adsorbs reversibly in Co2Cl2(bbta) without electron transfer, with low temperature data supporting spin-crossover of the NO-bound cobalt(ii) centers of the material. In contrast, adsorption of low pressures of NO in Co2(OH)2(bbta) is accompanied by charge transfer from the cobalt(ii) centers to form a cobalt(iii)–NO adduct, as supported by diffraction and infrared spectroscopy data. At higher pressures of NO, characterization data indicate additional uptake of the gas and disproportionation of the bound NO to form a cobalt(iii)–nitro (NO2) species and N2O gas, a transformation that appears to be facilitated by secondary sphere hydrogen bonding interactions between the bound NO2 and framework hydroxo groups. These results provide a rare example of reductive NO binding in a cobalt-based metal–organic framework, and they demonstrate that NO uptake can be tuned by changing the primary and secondary coordination environment of the framework metal centers.

Nitric oxide (NO) shows differences in adsorption and reactivity in two related cobalt(ii)–triazolate frameworks, demonstrating how the primary and secondary coordination sphere of metal centers in adsorbents can be designed for targeted delivery.  相似文献
