Data from the reaction K−p→K−K+Λ at 11 GeV/c have been obtained in the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. A spherical harmonic moments analysis of the K−K+ system provides evidence for a rather narrow JPC=4++ state at ∼2.2 GeV/c2. Relevant data from the reaction K−p→K0sK0sΛ in the present experiment are shown also, and comparisons made to results from MARK III and GAMS in this mass region. 相似文献

Clear evidence is presented for the production of an Ω1− resonance of mass 2253±13 MeV/c2 and width 81±38 MeV/c2 in K−p interactions at 11 GeV/c. The state is observed in the Ξ (1530)K̄ decay mode, and the corresponding inclusive cross section is estimated to be 630±180 nb. Comparisons are made with theoretical predictions and with similar states observed inhyperon beam induced data. 相似文献

New data on the inclusive production of the non-strange resonances ?0(770), ω(783), ?(1020) andf(1270) inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c are presented. The inclusive production cross sections are equal to (4.32±0.72) mb, (3.7±1.4) mb, (0.65±0.10) mb and (0.91±0.35) mb respectively. Estimates of the topological cross sections are also obtained. The invariant and non-invariantx-distributions for the vector mesons ?0 and ? indicate the prevalence of forward resonance production in the c.m. system. For the tensorf-meson the rapidity andx-distributions are presented. Thet′-distributions for ?0, ?, andf have exponential slopes of 0.6±0.1 GeV?2, 1.2±0.2 GeV?2, and 0.8±0.5 GeV?2 respectively. The exponential slope ofp T 2 -distribution of thef-meson is equal to (2.3±0.5) GeV?2. 相似文献

Total and differential cross sections ofK *?(890),K *?(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (890),K *0(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (1430) and? 0(770) produced inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The cross sections of the neutral resonances show a smooth increase with energy from 10 to 110 GeV/c incident momentum. For theK *+(890) and theK *0(890), i.e. the resonances with strangenessS=+1, this rise is quite significant: their cross sections practically double between 32 GeV/c and 110 GeV/c incidentK ? momentum. About 50% of the neutral kaons and 30% of charged pions produced inK ? p interactions at our energy are found to be decay products of the resonances considered. 相似文献

Results on inclusive ? production inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The production cross section is found to be larger than in πp andpp interactions at similar energies, suggesting OZI allowed \(s\bar s\) fusion to be the dominant mechanism in ? production. Thex distributions of ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) are found to be similar to each other over the entirex range suggesting an overall strangeness suppression factor of 0.20±0.04 in the sea to be the dominant source of the difference in the cross section for ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) . There is no evidence of a narrowφπ ? state around 2.1 GeV/c2 as suggested byK + experiments, but there is some excess of events in the region 1.94?1.98 GeV/c2 consistent with theF-meson mass as observed ine + e ? experiments. 相似文献

Evidence is presented for a newK * \(\bar K\) +c.c. resonance with a mass of (1,526±6) MeV, a width of (107±15) MeV and quantum numbersIJ PC=01++. We call itD′ meson. Initially it is observed as aK * \(\bar K\) +c.c. enhancement in the reactionsK ? p→(K s 0 K ±π?)Λ at 4.2 GeV/c. The isospin assignmentI=0 comes from its further observation in the reactionsK ? p→(K s 0 K ±π?)Σ 0 andK ? p→(K s 0 K ±π?)Σ(1,385)0 but not inK ? p→(K + K ?π?)Σ+ orK ? p→(K s 0 K ±π?)Σ(1,385)+. A maximum likelihood analysis of the (K \(\bar K\) π) decay Dalitz plots in the reactionsK ? p→(K s 0 K ±π?) determines theJ PC of theD′ meson to be 1++. A satisfactorySU(3) fit is obtained to a 1++ nonet composed of theI-1A 1, theI=1/2Q A with theD(1,285) and theD′(1,526) as theI=0 members having a mixing angle close to the magic one. 相似文献

Results from a high statistics study of the reaction K−p→K−π+n are presented. These results are based on data obtained with an 11 GeV/c beam using the LASS spectrometer at SLAC. The mass dependence of the spherical harmonic moments provides clear evidence for the production of the complete leading orbitally excited K1 series up through JP = 5−. These moments are used to perform an energy independent partial wave analysis of the K−π+ system from threshold to 2.6 GeV/c2 using a t-dependent parametrization of the production amplitudes. The amplitudes corroborate the leading K1(892), K21(1430), K31(1780), K41(2060), and K51(2380) resonances observed directly in the moments, and also provide new evidence for underlying states. The 0+ amplitude contains the K01(1350) and a second 0+K1(1950) at higher mass. The 1−K1(1790) seen earlier two and three-body analyses is confirmed, and evidence is provided for suppressed K−π+ decay mode of a second 1− state, the K1(1410), which has been seen in earlier three-body analyses. 相似文献

Antilambda production is studied inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c. Both total and differential cross sections are presented. The inclusive \(\bar \Lambda \) production cross section amounts to 109±7 μb. A remarkable energy dependence is observed, σ( \(\bar \Lambda \) ) increasing by a factor of four between 14.3 and 32 GeV/c. Thep ⊥ 2 distribution exhibits an exponential fall-off with a slope of 3.3±0.2 (GeV/c)?2. Most of the \(\bar \Lambda \) 's are emitted in the forward hemisphere. The invariantx distribution increases between 14.3 and 32 GeV/c. The inclusive production of neutral kaons inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c is studied in final states with one, two and three strange particles (K n or Λ). Inclusive and topological cross sections are obtained and their energy dependence discussed by comparison with lower energy data. The invariant differential cross sections of neutral kaons are studied as a function of Feynmanx, the c.m. rapidity and the transverse momentum, and a comparison is made with data at 14.3 GeV/c. Invariantx-distributions are obtained separately for “indirect” neutral kaons from \(\bar K*(890)\) decays and for “prompt” kaons. The –
p interactions with at least one charged secondary produced at polar angle 90° in c.m.s. and having the transverse momentum above 1 GeV/c were investigated. The data were obtained using streamer chamber magnetic spectrometer RISK at 38 GeV/c beam from Serpukhov accelerator. The analyzis of associated production in reconstructed events suggests, that if the transverse momentum of a pair of oppositely charged secondaries compensates the trigger particlep
practically completely, this pair is the product of the 0 decay in marked fraction of such events. We observed a large spin-alignment for the 0-mesons selected as described above: the probability of zero spin projection onto the normal to the 0 production plane is equal to

=0.86±0.23. The enhancement of the number of events, in which the 0 picks up practically full momentum transfer carrying by the exchange, and also the enlarged tensor polarization for the 0-mesons in these events could be qualitatively explained as manifestation of direct 0-production via the QCD higher twist processes in the highp

The NA22 data on?? ? ?? ? correlations are analyzed in terms of a number of two- and three-dimensional parametrizations (Gaussian space-time, Goldhaber, Bowler string-like, Bertsch hydrodynamical, Kopylov-Podgoretskii, etc.). Contrary to the results obtained for e+e? and??p collisions, the Goldhaber parametrization, as well as string-like models, fail in describing the hadron-hadron data. Better fits are obtained in the framework of surface-emitting fireball-like models, both when including and excluding hydrodynamical expansion of nuclear matter. Our results indicate that pion radiation occurs at earlier stages of matter evolution than in nuclear collisions. 相似文献

We present data on the production of the baryons Λ, \(\bar \Lambda \) ,p and of the baryon resonances Σ*+ (1385) and Δ++ (1232) inK + p and π+ p interactions at 250 GeV/c. Results are given on total and semi-inclusive cross sections, Feynman-x spectra, transverse momentum distributions and Λ polarization. The data are compared with measurements at lower energies, with deep inclastic lepton nucleon data and with predictions of quark-parton models. The models underestimate Λ production in the central c.m. region, a feature also seen in recent heavy-ion data. This failure can be cured in JETSET 6.3 by adjustment of the di-quark break-up probability. 相似文献
