The decay of a neutral heavy Higgs bosonH to a weak vector bosonV+lepton pair is discussed and found to be relevant. Its width is strongly growing with increasingm H and fromm H≈200 GeV it exceeds ≈10 MeV.  相似文献

We explore the possibility that charged Higgs bosons exist. The role of e+e? experiments carried out above heavy quark thresholds is stressed. Striking experimental signatures are predicted.  相似文献

We study the decays of Higgs bosons to a lighter Higgs boson and a virtual gauge boson in the context of the non-supersymmetric two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM). We consider the phenomenological impact at LEP2 and find that such decays, when open, may be dominant in regions of parameter space and thus affect current Higgs boson search techniques. Three-body decays would be a way of producing light neutral Higgs bosons which have so far escaped detection at LEP due to suppressed couplings to the Z, and are of particular importance in the 2HDM (Model I) which allows both a light fermiophobic Higgs and a light charged scalar.  相似文献

We search for pair production of doubly charged Higgs particles (H+/- +/-) followed by decays into electron-tau (etau) and muon-tau (mutau) pairs using data (350 pb(-1) collected from [over]pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV by the CDF II experiment. We search separately for cases where three or four final-state leptons are detected, and combine results for exclusive decays to left-handed etau (mutau) pairs. We set an H+/- +/- lower mass limit of 114(112) GeV/c(2) at the 95% confidence level.  相似文献

We explore through two simple models, the first in which scalars are treated as fundamental and the second in which they are composite objects, the possibility that representations containing doubly charged scalars may participate in the spontaneous breakdown of the SU(2) × U(1) symmetry of electroweak interactions. We show that such exotic Higgs bosons may posses unsuppressed coupling to pairs of gauge vector bosons and comment on the observability of these charged Higgs bosons through the Cahn-Dawson mechanism in high-energy hadron colliders.  相似文献

The Review summarizes much of particle physics and cosmology.Using data from previous editions, plus 3,062 new measurements from 721 papers,we list, evaluate, and average measured properties of gauge bosons and the recently discovered Higgs boson, leptons, quarks, mesons, and baryons. We summarize searches for hypothetical particles such as supersymmetric particles, heavy bosons, axions, dark photons, etc. All the particle properties and search limits are listed in Summary Tables. We also give numerous tables, figures, formulae, and reviews of topics such as Higgs Boson Physics,Supersymmetry,Grand Unified Theories,Neutrino Mixing,Dark Energy,Dark Matter,Cosmology,Particle Detectors,Colliders,Probability and Statistics.Among the 117 reviews are many that are new or heavily revised, including new reviews on Pentaquarks and Inflation.  相似文献

We perform for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) a detailed study of charged Higgs boson production via the top-bottom quark associated mode followed by decays into a chargino and a neutralino, with masses and couplings as given by the general minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We focus our attention on the region of parameter space with and intermediate values of , where identification of via decays into standard model (SM) particles has proven to be ineffective. Modelling the CMS detector, we find that a signature consisting of three hard leptons accompanied by a hadronically reconstructed top quark plus substantial missing transverse energy, which may result from decays, can be made viable over a large variety of initially overwhelming SM and MSSM backgrounds, provided MSSM input parameters are favourable: notably, small and light sleptons are important prerequisites. We quantify these statements by performing a fairly extensive scan of the parameter space, including realistic hadron-level simulations, and delineate some potential discovery regions.Received: 16 April 2003, Revised: 23 June 2003, Published online: 29 August 2003S. A search for neutral Higgs bosons has been performed using the full sample of Z0 decays collected by the OPAL detector at LEP up to 1995. The data were taken at centre-of-mass energies between 88 GeV and 95 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 160 pb?1. The present search addresses the processes Z0→H0Z* and h0Z*, where H0 is the Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model and h0 the lightest neutral scalar Higgs boson predicted in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. For the virtual Z0 boson, Z*, the following decay channels are considered: Z*→vv?, e+e? and μ+μ?. Two candidate events have been found in the vv?H0 channel and one in the μ+μ?H0 channel. Combined with earlier searches, the present search excludes the SM Higgs boson, at the 95% confidence level (CL), from the mass range below 59.6 GeV. In the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, allowing a wide range of variation for most relevant model parameters, a 95% CL lower limit of 44.3 GeV is obtained for the mass of the h0 boson. Combined with earlier direct searches for the Higgs boson pair production process Z0→h0A0 and with measurements of the Z0 line shape, a 95% CL lower limit of 23.5 GeV is obtained for the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson A0, assuming tan β≥ 1.  相似文献

A search for light Higgs bosons was performed using the data sample collected in 1990 by the DELPHI detector at LEP, at centre of mass energies between 88.2 and 94.2 GeV. Using the process e+eH 0+Z 0*,Z 0*ff, it is possible to exclude the existence of the standard model Higgs particle with a mass between 0 and 210 MeV/c2 at the 99% confidence level. Extending this analysis to the minimal supersymmetric standard model restricts the lightest neutral Higgs boson to masses above 28 GeV/c2 irrespective of the value of the mixing angle.  相似文献
