We consider, in the light-cone gauge, the possible structure of the counterterms arising in the solution to the renormalization equation. Using the structure of these counterterms and the noncovariant formalism of the integrals as guidelines, we also examine to one-loop order the divergence and nonlocality of theN-point gluon vertex functions forN≧5.  相似文献

The N = 4 Yang-Mills theory is truncated to an N = 3 Yang-Mills theory and to an N = 2 Yang-Mills theory coupled to an N = 2 Wess-Zumino field. The whole procedure is performed in the light-cone gauge. It is then shown that these theories are unique even if we only insist on N = 3 or N = 2 supersymmetry respectively. Finally we show in detail how the introduction of the fermionic Wess-Zumino field renders the one-loop self-energy finite.  相似文献

The MHV scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 SYM are dual to bosonic light-like Wilson loops. We explore various proposals for extending this duality to generic non-MHV amplitudes. The corresponding dual object should have the same symmetries as the scattering amplitudes and be invariant to all loops under the chiral half of the N=4 superconformal symmetry. We analyze the recently introduced supersymmetric extensions of the light-like Wilson loop (formulated in Minkowski space-time) and demonstrate that they have the required symmetry properties at the classical level only, up to terms proportional to field equations of motion. At the quantum level, due to the specific light-cone singularities of the Wilson loop, the equations of motion produce a nontrivial finite contribution which breaks some of the classical symmetries. As a result, the quantum corrections violate the chiral supersymmetry already at one loop, thus invalidating the conjectured duality between Wilson loops and non-MHV scattering amplitudes. We compute the corresponding anomaly to one loop and solve the supersymmetric Ward identity to find the complete expression for the rectangular Wilson loop at leading order in the coupling constant. We also demonstrate that this result is consistent with conformal Ward identities by independently evaluating corresponding one-loop conformal anomaly.  相似文献

An attempt is made to formulate the interacting membrane picture in the light-cone gauge, which is analogous to the interacting string picture of Mandelstam. The possible emission of strings from the membrane is also discussed.  相似文献

We investigate the impact parameter-dependent parton distributions for a relativistic composite system in light-front framework. We express them in terms of overlaps of light-cone wave functions for a self-consistent two-body spin- state, namely an electron dressed with a photon in QED. The pdf’s are distorted in the transverse space for transverse polarization of the state at one-loop level.  相似文献

A recently proposed bosonic string action containing a term proportional to the world sheet is supersymmetrized in the light-cone gauge. We compute the one-loop contribution to the β function of the new coupling constant and find that the asymptotic freedom present in the bosonic case is not destroyed by the addition of the fermionic degrees of freedom.  相似文献

The general one-loop three-vertexГ μeλ abc (p, q, r) in the four-component formulation of the Yang-Mills theory is calculated in the light-cone gauge. The nonvanishing counter Lagrangian constructed from this three-vertex and the self-energy is proportional to the original Lagrangian, the single renormalization constant being -11g2 C YM Г(2?ω)/48π2. Gauge dependent and nonlocal counterterms do not contribute to the renormalization constant, but are needed to verify the appropriate Slavnov-Taylor (ST) and Becchi-Rouet-Stora (BRS) identities.  相似文献

We present an improved calculation of the strong coupling constants g_(D~*Dp) and g_(B~*Bp) in light-cone sum rules, including one-loop QCD corrections of leading power with meson distribution amplitudes. We further compute subleading-power corrections from two-particle and three-particle higher-twist contributions at leading order up to twist-4 accuracy. The next-to-leading order corrections to the leading power contribution numerically offset the subleading-power corrections to a certain extent, and our numerical results are consistent with those of previous studies on sum rules. A comparison between our results and existing model-dependent estimations is also made.  相似文献

The Higgs-fermion-antifermion coupling is examined at one-loop level. It is shown that for a process like e+e → Hγ the one-loop radiative corrections can be several orders of magnitude larger than the Born approximation provided that the photon is sufficiently hard.  相似文献

We propose a parton model interpretation of the cut vertex formalism recently developed by Mueller. We show that this interpretation extends to all orders in the running coupling constant α(t), the Altarelli-Parisi picture in both the time-like and space-like regions. We show the equivalence with the light-cone expansion method in the space-like region and we verify this equivalence by explicit calculations in [φ3]6 up to the two-loop level both for the space-like cut vertices and the matrix elements of minimal twist Wilson operators.  相似文献

The Wk structure underlying the transverse realization of affine SU(2) at level k is analyzed. The extension of the equivalence existing between the covariant and light-cone gauge realization of an affine Kac-Moody algebra to Wk algebras is given. Higher spin generators are extracted by the less singular terms in the operator product expansion of the parafermions constructed by means of the projection of the covariant on the light-cone gauge. These fields can be written in terms of only one free boson compactified on a circle.  相似文献

N = 8 supergravity is formulated in the light-cone gauge. An unconstrained superfield defined on a light-cone superspace is constructed from the component formulation. The light-cone superspace is spanned by Grassmann coordinates which belong to the spinor representation of SO(7), a subgroup of the transverse SO(9).  相似文献

The pion cloud renormalises the light-cone wavefunction of the nucleon which is measured in hard, exclusive photon-nucleon reactions. We discuss the leading twist contributions to high-energy exclusive reactions taking into account both the pion cloud and perturbative QCD physics. The nucleon’s electromagnetic form-factor at high Q2 is proportional to the bare nucleon probability Z and the cross-sections for hard (real at large angle or deeply virtual) Compton scattering are proportional to Z2. Our present knowledge of the pion-nucleon system is consistent with Z = 0.7 ± 0.2. If we apply just perturbative QCD to extract a light-cone wavefunction directly from these hard exclusive cross-sections, then the light-cone wavefunction that we extract measures the three valence quarks partially screened by the pion cloud of the nucleon. We discuss how this pion cloud renormalisation effect might be understood at the quark level in terms of the (in-)stability of the perturbative Dirac vacuum in low energy QCD.  相似文献

We consider generalization of the Cachazo-Svrcek-Witten (CSW) rules to one-loop amplitudes of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory in a recently developed holonomy formalism in twistor space. We first reconsider off-shell continuation of the Lorentz-invariant Nair measure for the incorporation of loop integrals. We then formulate an S-matrix functional for general amplitudes such that it implements the CSW rules at quantum level. For one-loop MHV amplitudes, the S-matrix functional correctly reproduces the analytic expressions obtained in the Brandhuber-Spence-Travaglini (BST) method. Motivated by this result, we propose a novel regularization scheme by use of an iterated-integral representation of polylogarithms and obtain a set of new analytic expressions for one-loop NMHV and N2MHV amplitudes in a conjectural form. We also briefly sketch how the extension to one-loop non-MHV amplitudes in general can be carried out.  相似文献

We examine noncommutative linear sigma models with U(N) global symmetry groups at the one-loop quantum level, and contrast the results with our previous study of the noncommutative O(N) linear sigma models where we have shown that Nambu–Goldstone symmetry realization is inconsistent with continuum renormalization. Specifically we find no violation of Goldstone's theorem at one-loop for the U(N) models with the quartic term ordering consistent with possible noncommutative gauging of the model. The difference is due to terms involving noncommutative commutator interactions, which vanish in the commutative limit. We also examine the U(2), and O(4) linear sigma models with matter in the adjoint representation, and find that the former is consistent with Goldstone's theorem at one-loop if we include only trace invariants consistent with possible noncommutative gauging of the model, while the latter exhibits violations of Goldstone's theorem of the kind seen in the fundamental of O(N) for N>2.  相似文献
