Let Δ be a simplicial complex and χ be an s-coloring of Δ. Biermann and Van Tuyl have introduced the simplicial complex Δχ. As a corollary of Theorems 5 and 7 in their 2013 article, we obtain that the Stanley–Reisner ring of Δχ over a field is Cohen–Macaulay. In this note, we generalize this corollary by proving that the Stanley–Reisner ideal of Δχ over a field is set-theoretic complete intersection. This also generalizes a result of Macchia. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study maximal irreducible families of Gorenstein quotients of a polynomial ring . Let be the scheme parametrizing graded quotients of with Hilbert function . We prove there is a close relationship between the irreducible components of , whose general member is a Gorenstein codimension quotient, and the irreducible components of , whose general member is a codimension Cohen-Macaulay algebra of Hilbert function related to . If the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the Gorenstein quotient is large compared to the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of , this relationship actually determines a well-defined injective mapping from such ``Cohen-Macaulay' components of to ``Gorenstein' components of , in which generically smooth components correspond. Moreover the dimension of the ``Gorenstein' components is computed in terms of the dimension of the corresponding ``Cohen-Macaulay' component and a sum of two invariants of . Using linkage by a complete intersection we show how to compute these invariants. Linkage also turns out to be quite effective in verifying the assumptions which appear in a generalization of the main theorem.

We compute the Stanley depth for a particular but important case of the quotient of complete intersection monomial ideals. Also, in the general case, we give sharp bounds for the Stanley depth of a quotient of complete intersection monomial ideals. In particular, we prove the Stanley conjecture for quotients of complete intersection monomial ideals. 相似文献

It is a conjecture due to M. E. Rossi that the Hilbert function of a one-dimensional Gorenstein local ring is non-decreasing. In this article, we show that the Hilbert function is non-decreasing for local Gorenstein rings with embedding dimension four associated to monomial curves, under some arithmetic assumptions on the generators of their defining ideals in the non-complete intersection case. In order to obtain this result, we determine the generators of their tangent cones explicitly by using standard basis computations under these arithmetic assumptions and show that the tangent cones are Cohen-Macaulay. In the complete intersection case, by characterizing certain families of complete intersection numerical semigroups, we give an inductive method to obtain large families of complete intersection local rings with arbitrary embedding dimension having non-decreasing Hilbert functions.

Consider a complete intersection I of type (d 1,…, d r ) in a polynomial ring over a field of characteristic 0. We study the graded system of ideals {gin(I n )} n obtained by taking the reverse lexicographic generic initial ideals of the powers of I and describe its asymptotic behavior. This behavior is nicely captured by the limiting shape which is shown to depend only on the type of the complete intersection. 相似文献

The Cayley-Bacharach Property (CBP), which has been classically stated as a property of a finite set of points in an affine or projective space, is extended to arbitrary 0-dimensional affine algebras over arbitrary base fields. We present characterizations and explicit algorithms for checking the CBP directly, via the canonical module, and in combination with the property of being a locally Gorenstein ring. Moreover, we characterize strict Gorenstein rings by the CBP and the symmetry of their affine Hilbert function, as well as by the strict CBP and the last difference of their affine Hilbert function. 相似文献

Let I be a complete m-primary ideal of a regular local ring (R, m) of dimension d ≥ 2. In the case of dimension two, the beautiful theory developed by Zariski implies that I factors uniquely as a product of powers of simple complete ideals and each of the simple complete factors of I has a unique Rees valuation. In the higher dimensional case, a simple complete ideal of R often has more than one Rees valuation, and a complete m-primary ideal I may have finitely many or infinitely many base points. For the ideals having finitely many base points Lipman proves a unique factorization involving special *-simple complete ideals and possibly negative exponents of the factors. Let T be an infinitely near point to R with dim R = dim T and R/m = T/m T . We prove that the special *-simple complete ideal P RT has a unique Rees valuation if and only if either dim R = 2 or there is no change of direction in the unique finite sequence of local quadratic transformations from R to T. We also examine conditions for a complete ideal to be projectively full. 相似文献

We consider general surfaces, S, of high degree containing a given complete intersection space curve, Y. We study integral curves in the subgroup of Pic(S) generated by Y and the plane section. We determine the cohomological invariants of these curves and classify the subcanonical ones. Then using these subcanonical curves we produce stable rank two vector bundles on P

In this article, we study some algebraic and combinatorial behaviors of expansion functor. We show that on monomial ideals some properties like polymatroidalness, weakly polymatroidalness, and having linear quotients are preserved under taking the expansion functor. The main part of the article is devoted to study of toric ideals associated to the expansion of subsets of monomials which are minimal with respect to divisibility. It is shown that, for a given discrete polymatroid P, if toric ideal of P is generated by double swaps, then toric ideal of any expansion of P has such a property. This result, in a special case, says that White's conjecture is preserved under taking the expansion functor. Finally, the construction of Gröbner bases and some homological properties of toric ideals associated to expansions of subsets of monomials is investigated. 相似文献

Generic initial ideals of Artinian ideals having Lefschetz properties or the strong Stanley property
For a standard Artinian k-algebra A=R/I, we give equivalent conditions for A to have the weak (or strong) Lefschetz property or the strong Stanley property in terms of the minimal system of generators of gin(I). Using the equivalent condition for the weak Lefschetz property, we show that some graded Betti numbers of gin(I) are determined just by the Hilbert function of I if A has the weak Lefschetz property. Furthermore, for the case that A is a standard Artinian k-algebra of codimension 3, we show that every graded Betti number of gin(I) is determined by the graded Betti numbers of I if A has the weak Lefschetz property. And if A has the strong Lefschetz (respectively Stanley) property, then we show that the minimal system of generators of gin(I) is determined by the graded Betti numbers (respectively by the Hilbert function) of I. 相似文献

We study a special dual form of a convex minimization problem in a Hilbert space, which is formally suggested by Fenchel dualityand is useful for the Dykstra algorithm. For this special duality problem, we prove that strong duality holds if and only if the collection of underlying constraint sets {C
1,...,C
m} has the strong conical hull intersection property. That is,
where D° denotes the dual cone of D. In general, we can establish weak duality for a convex minimization problem in a Hilbert space by perturbing the constraint sets so that the perturbed sets have the strong conical hull intersection property. This generalizes a result of Gaffke and Mathar. 相似文献
