Based on classical theory of optical coherence and polarization, coincidence fractional Fourier transform (FRT) with a stochastic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model (EGSM) beam is investigated. Dependences of the quality and visibility of the coincidence FRT pattern of an object on the degree of polarization and correlation coefficients of the EGSM beam are studied numerically. It is shown that the quality and visibility of the coincidence FRT pattern of an object are determined by the polarization and coherence of the EGSM beam together. 相似文献

Multi-Gaussian Schell-model (MGSM) beam was introduced recently (Sahin and Korotkova, 2012 [34], and Korotkova et al., 2012 [35]). In this paper, multi-Gaussian Schell-model vortex (MGSMV) beam is introduced as a natural extension of MGSM beam. The explicit expression for the cross-spectral density of a MGSMV beam propagating through a stigmatic ABCD optical system is derived and the focusing properties of a MGSMV beam are studied in detail. It is found that we can shape the focused beam profile by varying the initial beam parameters, which will be useful in material thermal processing and particle trapping. 相似文献

In this paper, we present a new model, hollow Gaussian Schell-model beams (HGSMBs), to describe the practical dark hollow beams. An analytical propagation formula for HGSMBs passing through a paraxial first-order optical system is derived based on the theory of coherence. Based on the derived formula, an application example showing the influence of spatial coherence on the propagation of beams is illustrated. It is found that the beam propagating properties of HGSMBs will be greatly affected by their spatial coherence. Our model provides a very convenient way for analyzing the propagation properties of partially coherent dark hollow beams. 相似文献

In view of second-order coherence theory, the generalized diffractive axicon illuminated by partially coherent Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams is analyzed. An analytical equation for focal depth of axicon without aperture illuminated by spatial partially coherent GSM beam is derived. We showed that the off-axis images can be evaluated by using the method of stationary phase at any correlation state, hence we demonstrated that the intensity distribution of diffracted beam is a superposition of Bessel Beams of various orders. We also showed that the diffracted beam is nondiffractive only on the boundaries of the focal depth. 相似文献

Spectral changes of a stochastic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model (EGSM) beam interacting with a Gaussian cavity are investigated. It is shown that the spectral shift is mainly determined by the degree of polarization of the initial beam and by the parameters of the cavity. Generically the blue shift occurs at on-axis points, while the red shift can occur at off-axis points. The condition under which the relative spectral shift is independent of the degree of polarization of the initial beam is analyzed. 相似文献

Based on the theory of coherence, an analytical propagation formula for partially polarized and partially coherent hollow Gaussian Schell-model beams (HGSMBs) passing through a paraxial optical system is derived. Furthermore, we show that the degree of polarization of source may affect the evolution of HGSMBs and a tunable dark region may exist. An alternative theoretical model called circular partially coherent flattened Gaussian beam (FGB) is developed to describe a circular partially coherent beam with a flat-topped spatial profile. Explicit expression for the propagation factor of a circular partially coherent FGB is derived. We drive the analytical formulae for the cross-spectral density and mean-squared beam width of a circular partially coherent FGB propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system based on the generalized Collins formula. The intensity, spreading and directionality properties of a circular partially coherent FGB propagating in free space are studied as numerical examples. The propagation properties of a circular partially coherent FGB agree well with those of a partially coherent flat-topped beam reported in the literature. Thus, our model provides an alternative but reliable model for describing a circular partially coherent beam with flat-topped profile. 相似文献

Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, analytical formulas are derived for the cross-spectral density matrix of an apertured stochastic electromagnetic twist anisotropic Gaussian Schell-model (ETAGSM) beam propagating in a turbulent atmosphere by use of a tensor method. Spectral properties of apertured ETAGSM beam are closely related with the strength of atmospheric turbulence, the aperture widths and the beam's parameters, etc. Our main attention was focused on the influence of the aperture widths, atmospheric turbulence, twist parameters and partial coherence on the spectral properties (including spectral degree of polarization, the spectral degree of coherence and the spectral density) of apertured ETAGSM beam propagating in turbulent atmosphere. On the basis of the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and the model of the refractive-index structure constant in the atmospheric turbulence proposed by the International Telecommunication Union-Radio Communication Sector,the characteristics of the partially coherent Gaussian Schell-model(GSM) beams propagating in slanted atmospheric turbulence are studied.Using the cross-spectral density function(CSDF),we derive the expressions for the effective beam radius,the spreading angle,and the average intensity.The variance of the angle-of-arrival fluctuation and the wander effect of the GSM beam in the turbulence are calculated numerically.The influences of the coherence degree,the propagation distance,the propagation height,and the waist radius on the propagation characteristics of the partially coherent beams are discussed and compared with those of the fully coherent Gaussian beams. 相似文献

采用相屏近似处理方法对激光通过湍流大气的传输进行了数值模拟。从数值模拟的结果拟合出两个公式:一是通过湍流前后部分相干平顶高斯光束的束宽平方比随阶数、传输距离和湍流强度的变化关系式;一是通过湍流后的相干长度随初始光束相干长度、湍流相干长度的变化关系式。研究发现:部分相干平顶高斯光束分解为相互独立的厄米-高斯光束的叠加;相干性越差的光束受到湍流的影响程度就越小;湍流对光束传输的影响与光束自身相干特性对其传输的影响之间是不相关的。 相似文献

基于光谱交叉偏振度新理论,研究了部分相干光束在传输过程中光谱交叉偏振度的变化情况.采用相干偏振统一理论和广义惠更斯-菲涅耳原理,推导部分相干电磁高斯-谢尔模型光束在自由空间传输时任意空间两点的交叉谱密度矩阵的解析式.研究表明,光谱交叉偏振度的值不再仅仅局限在0~1之间,而是可为任意的非负值.传输场中的光谱交叉偏振度与光源相关参量,初始偏振度和传输距离紧密相关.当光束经过足够长的传输距离后,轴上光谱交叉偏振度不再发生变化,而是趋向一个稳定值.保持光谱交叉偏振度不变的条件与一般偏振度相同. 相似文献

By use of a tensor method, an analytical formula for a partially coherent Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beam truncated by a circular phase aperture propagating through a paraxial ABCD optical system is derived. The propagation properties of a GSM beam truncated by a circular phase aperture in free space are studied numerically. It is found that the circular phase aperture can be used to shape the beam profile of a GSM beam and generate partially coherent dark hollow or flat-topped beam, which is useful in many applications, e.g., optical trapping, free-space optical communication, and material thermal processing.
