We discuss the existence and the dependence on functional parameters of solutions of the Dirichlet problem for a kind of the generalization of the balance of a membrane equation. Since we shall propose an approach based on variational methods, we treat our equation as the Euler-Lagrange equation for a certain integral functional J. We will not impose either convexity or coercivity of the functional. We develop a duality theory which relates the infimum on a special set X of the energy functional associated with the problem, to the infimum of the dual functional on a corresponding set Xd. The links between minimizers of both functionals give a variational principle and, in consequence, their relation to our boundary value problem. We also present the numerical version of the variational principle. It enables the numerical characterization of approximate solutions and gives a measure of a duality gap between primal and dual functional for approximate solutions of our problem.  相似文献

The duality principle for Gabor frames states that a Gabor sequence obtained by a time-frequency lattice is a frame for L2(Rd) if and only if the associated adjoint Gabor sequence is a Riesz sequence. We prove that this duality principle extends to any dual pairs of projective unitary representations of countable groups. We examine the existence problem of dual pairs and establish some connection with classification problems for II1 factors. While in general such a pair may not exist for some groups, we show that such a dual pair always exists for every subrepresentation of the left regular unitary representation when G is an abelian infinite countable group or an amenable ICC group. For free groups with finitely many generators, the existence problem of such a dual pair is equivalent to the well-known problem about the classification of free group von Neumann algebras.  相似文献

This article is devoted to the regular fractional Sturm–Liouville eigenvalue problem. By applying the methods of fractional variational analysis, we prove the existence of a countable set of orthogonal solutions and corresponding eigenvalues. Moreover, we formulate two results showing that the lowest eigenvalue is the minimum value for a certain variational functional.  相似文献

Abstract

We study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the Cauchy problem for a functional partial differential equation with a small parameter as the parameter tends to zero. We establish a convergence theorem in which the limit problem is identified with the Cauchy problem for a nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation. We also present comparison and existence results for the Cauchy problem for the functional partial differential equation and the limit problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an iterative process for finding the common element of the set of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of the variational inequality problem for an αα-inverse-strongly-monotone mapping. We obtain a weak convergence theorem for a sequence generated by this process. Moreover, we apply our result to the problem for finding a common element of the set of equilibrium problems and the set of solutions of the variational inequality problem of a monotone mapping.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new composite iterative method for finding a common point of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Hilbert space. It is proved that the sequence generated by the iterative scheme converges strongly to a common point of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings. Our results improve and extend the corresponding ones announced by many others.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, a projection-type method for mixed variational inequalities is proposed in Hilbert spaces. The proposed method has the following nice features: (i) The algorithm is well defined whether the solution set of the problem is nonempty or not, under some mild assumptions; (ii) If the solution set is nonempty, then the sequence generated by the method is strongly convergent to the solution, which is closest to the initial point; (iii) The existence of the solutions to variational inequalities can be verified through the behavior of the generated sequence. The results presented in this article generalize and improve some known results.  相似文献

We consider a chemotaxis model with volume‐filling effect introduced by Hillen and Painter. They also proved the existence of global solutions for a compact Riemannian manifold without boundary. Moreover, the existence of a global attractor in W1, p(Ω??n), p>n, p?2, was proved by Wrzosek. He also proved that the ω‐limit set consists of regular stationary solutions. In this paper, we prove that the 1‐D stationary problem has at most an infinitely countable number of regular solutions. This paper investigates the existence of periodic solutions of a three-species food-chain diffusive system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional responses and time delays in a two-patch environment on time scales. By using a continuation theorem based on coincidence degree theory, we obtain sufficient criteria for the existence of periodic solutions for the system. Moreover, when the time scale T is chosen as R or Z, the existence of the periodic solutions of the corresponding continuous and discrete models follows. Therefore, the method is unified to provide the existence of the desired solutions for continuous differential equations and discrete difference equations.  相似文献

In this paper we consider weak solutions to stochastic inclusions driven by a general semimartingale. We prove the existence of weak solutions and equivalence with the existence of solutions to the martingale problem formulated to such inclusion. We use the hybrid method in mathematical programming to obtain strong convergence to common fixed points of a countable family of quasi-Lipschitzian mappings. As a consequence, several convergence theorems for quasi-nonexpansive mappings and asymptotically κ-strict pseudo-contractions are deduced. We also establish strong convergence of iterative sequences for finding a common element of the set of fixed point, the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem, and the set of solutions of a variational inequality. With an appropriate setting, we obtain the corresponding results due to Tada-Takahashi and Nakajo-Shimoji-Takahashi.  相似文献

We introduce a hybrid method for finding a common element in the solutions set of an equilibrium problem and the common fixed points set of a countable family of relatively quasi-nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. A strong convergence theorem of the proposed method is established by using the concept of the Mosco convergence when the family {T n } satisfies the (*)-condition. The examples of three generated mappings which satisfy the (*)-condition are also given. Using the obtained result, we give some applications concerning the variational inequality problem and the convex minimization problem.  相似文献

This paper presents a set of complete solutions and optimality conditions for a nonconvex quadratic-exponential optimization problem. By using the canonical duality theory developed by the first author, the nonconvex primal problem in n-dimensional space can be converted into an one-dimensional canonical dual problem with zero duality gap, which can be solved easily to obtain all dual solutions. Each dual solution leads to a primal solution. Both global and local extremality conditions of these primal solutions can be identified by the triality theory associated with the canonical duality theory. The present paper is a continuation of [2] where we deal with the duality for a multiobjective fractional optimization problem. The basic idea in [2] consists in attaching an intermediate multiobjective convex optimization problem to the primal fractional problem, using an approach due to Dinkelbach ([6]), for which we construct then a dual problem expressed in terms of the conjugates of the functions involved. The weak, strong and converse duality statements for the intermediate problems allow us to give dual characterizations for the efficient solutions of the initial fractional problem. The aim of this paper is to compare the intermediate dual problem with other similar dual problems known from the literature. We completely establish the inclusion relations between the image sets of the duals as well as between the sets of maximal elements of the image sets.   相似文献

We obtain existence and multiplicity results for the solutions of a class of coupled semilinear bi-harmonic Schrödinger equations. Actually, using the classical Mountain Pass Theorem and minimization techniques, we prove the existence of critical points of the associated functional constrained on the Nehari manifold.Furthermore, we show that using the so-called fibering method and the Lusternik–Schnirel’man theory there exist infinitely many solutions, actually a countable family of critical points, for such a semilinear bi-harmonic Schrödinger system under study in this work.  相似文献

We will consider the relation between the number of positive standing waves solutions for a class of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system in RN and the topology of the set of minimum points of potential V(x). The main characteristics of the system are that its functional is strongly indefinite at zero and there is a lack of compactness in RN. Combining the dual variational method with the Nehari technique and using the Concentration-Compactness Lemma, we obtain the existence of multiple solutions associated to the set of global minimum points of the potential V(x) for ? sufficiently small. In addition, our result gives a partial answer to a problem raised by Sirakov about existence of solutions of the perturbed system.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to discuss Fuzzy Linear Matrix Equations (shown as FLME) of the form AXB = C for finding its fuzzy solutions. In this paper, the parametric form of the fuzzy linear system is used.
