Microwave‐Assisted One‐Pot Synthesis of 1,2,3,4‐Tetrahydrocarbazoles

A series of 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydrocarbazoles 3a–m were synthesized by the reaction of substituted 2‐bromocyclohexanones 2a–c with appropriate anilines 1a–i under microwave irradiation without any other catalysts.     

Microwave‐Assisted One‐Pot Synthesis of 2‐(Substituted phenyl)‐1H‐benzimidazole Derivatives

A series of 2‐(substituted phenyl)‐1H‐benzimidazole derivatives with various 5‐and 6‐position substituents (‐H, ‐CH₃, ‐CF₃) were synthesized via microwave irradiation using a short synthetic route and Na₂S₂O₅ as oxidant. This simple, fast, and efficient preparation of benzimidazole derivatives has been developed using readily available and inexpensive reagents (aldehydes and 1,2‐phenylenediamines) under solvent‐free conditions.     

Clean,One‐Pot Synthesis of Naphthopyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A general and practical one‐pot synthesis of naphthopyran derivatives using hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTMAB) as catalyst (10 mol%) is described. This method provides several advantages such as neutral conditions, high yields and simple workup procedure. The catalyst is low cost, facile, active, environmentally friendly, and reusable. In addition, water is chosen as a green solvent.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of 2‐Acylimino‐3‐aryl‐thiazoline Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A one‐pot, two‐step synthesis for acyliminothiazolines by treated N,N′‐substituted thioureas with α‐bromocarbonyl compounds under aqueous media was described. Compared to the classical reaction in organic solvents, this method consistently has the advantage of short reaction times, convenient procedures, and mild reaction conditions.     

Microwave‐Assisted Solid‐State Synthesis and Characterization of Thiohydantoin Derivatives

Abstract

A new and efficient solid‐state method for the preparation of thiohydantoins is reported. With this method, twelve thiohydantoin compounds have been synthesized in good to excellent yields (81–92%). In addition, this method has the advantages of high yields, a cleaner reaction, simple methodology, and short reaction times.     

Microwave‐Assisted Synthesis of Quinoline Derivatives from Isatin

Microwave irradiation has been used for a rapid and efficient synthesis of quinoline‐4‐carboxylic acids 5a–g and 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroacridine‐9‐carboxylic acid (6) from the reaction of isatins 1–3 with acyclic and cyclic ketones in basic medium. 2‐Hydroxyquinoline‐4‐carboxylic acid (11) was also obtained by irradiating a mixture of isatin 1 and malonic acid in AcOH. The esters of 5f and 11 and their respective hydrazides 8 and 13 were also prepared under MWI.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of Iminoimidazolines under Microwave Irradiation in Solvent‐Free Conditions

Substituted iminoimidazolines were synthesized from a one‐pot reaction of aromatic or hetero‐aromatic amines with imidazolidine‐2‐thione under solvent‐free conditions using microwave irradiation with good to excellent yields.     

Three‐Component,One‐Pot Synthesis of Pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridine Derivatives in Aqueous Media

6‐Amino‐4‐aryl‐5‐cyanopyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridines were synthesized by a three‐component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and 5‐amino‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenylpyrazole using sodium 1‐dodecanesulfonic (SDS) as catalyst in aqueous media. The reaction has the advantages of good yields, less pollution, ease of separation, and environmental friendliness.     

Three‐Component One‐Pot Synthesis of 1,4‐Dihydropyrano[2,3‐c]pyrazole Derivatives in Aqueous Media

Abstract

6‐Amino‐5‐cyano‐4‐aryl‐1,4‐dihydropyrano[2,3‐c]pyrazoles were synthesized by three‐component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and 3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐2‐pyrazolin‐5‐one using triethylbenzylammonium chloride (TEBA) as catalyst in aqueous media. The reaction has the advantages of good yield, less pollution, ease of separation, and of being environment friendly.     

One‐Pot Preparation of Fluorinated α‐Aminoalkyl Phosphonates under Microwave Irradiation and Solvent‐Free Conditions

A facile one‐pot method has been developed for the synthesis of fluorine‐containing α‐amino phosphonates in good yields by a three‐component reaction of fluorinated aromatic aldehydes, anilines, and diethyl phosphate in the presence of a silica‐gel support under microwave irradiation within 10 min. All new compounds are fully characterized by spectral methods and elemental analysis.     

Clean,One‐Pot Synthesis of 4H‐Pyran Derivatives Catalyzed by Hexadecyltrimethyl Ammonium Bromide in Aqueous Media

An efficient and convenient synthetic route to 4H‐pyran derivatives in water in the presence of hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HTMAB) as catalyst is described. This method provides several advantages such as environment friendliness, high yields, and a simple workup procedure. In addition, water was chosen as a green solvent.     

Microwave‐Assisted Synthesis and Characterization of CuO Nanocrystals

CuO feather‐like and flower‐like crystals have been synthesized by a fast microwave‐assisted solution approach using Cu(NO₃)₂ and NaOH. The morphology transformation of CuO could be achieved by ionic liquid 1‐n‐butyl‐3‐methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM]BF₄). With [BMIM]BF₄, flower‐like CuO were obtained, whereas without [BMIM]BF₄, feather‐like CuO were obtained. The possible formation mechanism of flower‐like CuO was discussed on the basis of experimental results. The products were characterized by XRD, FESEM/EDS, and TEM/SAED. In addition, the adsorption of [BMIM]BF₄ on flower‐like CuO was confirmed by FTIR and TG/DSC, and the band gap energies of the flower‐like CuO was estimated by UV‐vis spectra.     

Iodine‐Catalyzed,One‐Pot,Solid‐Phase Synthesis of Benzothiazole Derivatives

Molecular iodine was utilized in a one‐pot, solid‐phase, solvent‐free reaction between 2‐aminothiophenol and benzoic acid derivatives to obtain highly economical and excellent yield of benzothiazole derivatives in comparison to polyphosphoric acid- and [pmIm]‐Br‐catalyzed microwave synthesis reactions. The results of the studies revealed that the new method reduces cost by approximately 17‐fold in comparison to polyphosphoric acid and has a significant cost reduction in comparison to [pmIm]‐Br. Moreover, it becomes even more economical because no additional chemicals and solvents are necessary for the reaction.     

One‐Pot Synthesis and Hydroxylaminolysis of Asymmetrical Acyclic Nitrones

Abstract

Aromatic aldehydes 1 were reductively aminated to the corresponding secondary amines 2 using NaBH₄ in methanol in good yields. Amines 2 were oxidized with H₂O₂‐WO₄ ^2? regioselectively to nitrones 3, the structures of which were easily determined by reacting them with hydroxylamine hydrochloride as well as by spectral means. The products of hydroxylaminolysis in ether proved to be the corresponding benzaldehyde oximes 4 and benzyl or methyl hydroxylamine hydrochlorides 5.     

Sonochemical Synthesis of 1,4‐Disubstituted 1,2,3‐Triazoles in Aqueous Medium

An ultrasound‐accelerated fast and efficient three‐component reaction for the regioselective synthesis of l,4‐disubstituted 1,2,3‐triazoles using different alkyl and allyl halides, terminal alkynes, and sodium azide in water at room temperature has been developed using CuI as catalyst. Ultrasonication dramatically decreases the reaction times.     

Convenient and Regioselective One‐Pot Solvent‐Free Synthesis of ß‐Hydroxyphosphonates

A simple, efficient, regioselective, and solvent‐free method has been developed for the synthesis of β‐hydroxyphosphonates from epoxides and triethyl phosphite using ZnCl₂ in high yields under mild conditions.     

Simple and Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of 2,4‐Diaryl‐1,2,3‐triazoles

A general and efficient method for the preparation of 2,4‐diaryl‐1,2,3‐triazoles from α‐hydroxyacetophenones and phenylhydrazines is reported. The essential characteristics of this method include mild reaction conditions, a straightforward workup procedure, and comparatively higher yields.     

Diammonium Hydrogen Phosphate: An Efficient and Versatile Catalyst for the One‐Pot Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

Diammonium hydrogen phosphate was used as a mild, efficient, neutral, and cheap catalyst for the synthesis of various 4H‐benzo[b]pyran derivatives via a one‐pot, three‐component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, active methylene compounds, and dimedone in aqueous media.     

Synthesis of Novel Pyrrolo[1′,5′‐a]‐1,8‐naphthyridine Derivatives through a Facile One‐Pot Process

Novel pyrrolo[1′,5′‐a]‐1,8‐naphthyridine compounds have been synthesized through a facile one‐pot process by the reaction of the corresponding 1,8‐naphthyridines with aliphatic anhydride. The structures were established by spectroscopic data. Further X‐ray crystal analysis of 4′‐acetyl‐7‐methyl‐pyrrolo[1′,5′‐a]‐1,8‐naphthyridine (1) identifies its intriguing molecular structure and reveals the strong π‐π stacking.     

Microwave‐Assisted Solvent‐Free Regiospecific Synthesis of 5‐Alkylidene and 5‐Arylidenehydantoins

Hydantoins have become a well‐known class of structures that have found significant applications as agrochemicals and therapeutics. This structural motif is of interest in the synthesis of small building blocks suitable for the preparation of potentially bioactive molecules. In this sense, 5‐alkylidene and 5‐arylidenehydantoins constitute nice examples of precursors of synthetic α‐amino acids. The microwave‐assisted synthesis of these compounds under green chemistry conditions is reported in this article. The method has proved to afford yields of 74–96%.
