Novel One‐Pot Synthesis of Aziridines Containing Sydnone Moiety

A novel series of 1,1a‐dihydro‐1‐aryl‐2‐(3‐aryl‐sydnone‐4‐yl)‐azirino[1,2‐a] quinoxalines were prepared in a one‐pot reaction of 2,3‐dibromo‐1‐(3‐arylsydnone‐4‐yl‐)‐3‐arylpropan‐1‐one with o‐phenylenediamine employing triethylamine in ethanol. The new compounds were well characterized by IR,¹H NMR, mass spectra, and C,H,N analysis.     

Simple and Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of 2,4‐Diaryl‐1,2,3‐triazoles

A general and efficient method for the preparation of 2,4‐diaryl‐1,2,3‐triazoles from α‐hydroxyacetophenones and phenylhydrazines is reported. The essential characteristics of this method include mild reaction conditions, a straightforward workup procedure, and comparatively higher yields.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of Tetrahydro‐2‐Methylidenefurans

Abstract

Tetrahydro‐2‐methylidenefurans were prepared by the ring‐opening/recyclization reaction of 2‐(disubstituted amino)‐4,5‐dihydro‐3‐furancarbonitriles with dichloroacetyl chloride in the presence of potassium carbonate.     

New One‐Pot Three‐Component Synthesis of N‐Phenyl α‐Aminophosphonates

New one‐pot three‐component reactions employing aldehydes, triphenylphosphite, and N‐[(phenylamino)carbonyl]glycine ethyl ester in refluxing xylene readily afford N‐phenyl α‐aminophosphonates in low to moderate yields.     

Microwave‐Assisted One‐Pot Synthesis of 1,2,3,4‐Tetrahydrocarbazoles

A series of 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydrocarbazoles 3a–m were synthesized by the reaction of substituted 2‐bromocyclohexanones 2a–c with appropriate anilines 1a–i under microwave irradiation without any other catalysts.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of Benzimidazoles from o‐Nitroanilines under Microwaves via a Reductive Cyclization

An efficient microwave irradiation synthesis of 2‐substituted benzimidazoles in one step via the Na₂S₂O₄ reduction of o‐nitroanilines in the presence of aldehydes is described. The method is simple and a good option to obtain the title compounds in a very short time.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of Pyrazole‐5(3)‐carboxyamides

Abstract

A convenient one‐pot synthesis of eight pyrazole‐5(3)‐carboxyamides from the reaction of the 5(3)‐trichloromethylpyrazoles with amines, in good yield, is reported. These reactions show that the trichloromethyl group is a convenient precursor to carboxyamide groups.     

One‐Pot Synthesis and Hydroxylaminolysis of Asymmetrical Acyclic Nitrones

Abstract

Aromatic aldehydes 1 were reductively aminated to the corresponding secondary amines 2 using NaBH₄ in methanol in good yields. Amines 2 were oxidized with H₂O₂‐WO₄ ^2? regioselectively to nitrones 3, the structures of which were easily determined by reacting them with hydroxylamine hydrochloride as well as by spectral means. The products of hydroxylaminolysis in ether proved to be the corresponding benzaldehyde oximes 4 and benzyl or methyl hydroxylamine hydrochlorides 5.     

Convenient and Regioselective One‐Pot Solvent‐Free Synthesis of ß‐Hydroxyphosphonates

A simple, efficient, regioselective, and solvent‐free method has been developed for the synthesis of β‐hydroxyphosphonates from epoxides and triethyl phosphite using ZnCl₂ in high yields under mild conditions.     

New One‐Pot Procedure for the Synthesis of 2‐Substituted Benzimidazoles

A highly selective synthesis of 2‐substituted benzimidazole derivatives from the reaction of o‐phenylendiamine derivatives and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of an organic salt, NH₄OAc, in absolute ethanol is presented. The products were obtained by evaporating the solvent followed by a simple recrystallization with excellent yields.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of α‐Formyloxy Ketones from Enolizable Ketones

One‐pot synthesis of α‐formyloxy tones as well as α‐acetoxy ketones from enolizable ketones and [hydroxy(tosyloxy) iodo] benzene (HTIB)/polymer supported [hydroxy(tosyloxy) iodo] benzene (PSHTIB) in N,N–dimethylformamide (DMF)/N, N–dimethylacetamide (DMA) in high yields is described.     

Efficient and Convenient One‐Pot Synthesis of Phosphoramidates and Phosphates

A simple and efficient one‐pot method is described for the synthesis of phosphoramidates/phosphates in excellent yields from dialkylphosphites and trichloroisocyanuric acid in acetonitrile and subsequent treatment with dialkyl amines/alcohols. The procedure is operationally simple, has reduced reaction times, and uses a one‐pot procedure.     

DABCO‐Catalyzed Efficient Synthesis of Naphthopyran Derivatives via One‐Pot Three‐Component Condensation Reaction at Room Temperature

Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) has been used as a mild and efficient catalyst for synthesis of 2‐amino‐3‐cyano naphthopyran derivatives via a one‐pot three‐component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, naphthols, and malononitrile at room temperature. The short reaction times, easy workup, good to excellent yields, and mild reaction conditions make this domino Knoevenagel–Michael reaction both practical and attractive.     

Iodine‐Catalyzed,One‐Pot,Solid‐Phase Synthesis of Benzothiazole Derivatives

Molecular iodine was utilized in a one‐pot, solid‐phase, solvent‐free reaction between 2‐aminothiophenol and benzoic acid derivatives to obtain highly economical and excellent yield of benzothiazole derivatives in comparison to polyphosphoric acid- and [pmIm]‐Br‐catalyzed microwave synthesis reactions. The results of the studies revealed that the new method reduces cost by approximately 17‐fold in comparison to polyphosphoric acid and has a significant cost reduction in comparison to [pmIm]‐Br. Moreover, it becomes even more economical because no additional chemicals and solvents are necessary for the reaction.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of 5‐Alkylfuran‐2(5H)‐ones

5‐Alkylfuran‐2(5H)‐ones can be efficiently obtained using a one‐pot approach, starting from methyl 3‐nitropropanoate and aldehydes, in ethyl acetate, with Amberlyst A‐21 as catalyst, in 60–90% overall yield.     

Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of Hydroxyflavanones by Cyclization and O‐Demethylation of Methoxychalcones

An efficient one‐pot method for the synthesis of hydroxyflavanones is described. Methoxychalcones are treated with 36% HBr to afford cyclization and regioselective O‐demethylation products (2a–i) while cyclization and complete O‐demethylation products (3a–e) are obtained in the presence of 45% HI.     

Europium Triflate–Catalyzed One‐Pot Synthesis of 2,4,5‐Trisubstituted‐1H‐imidazoles via a Three‐component Condensation

A simple, efficient, and practical procedure for synthesis of 2,4,5‐trisubstituted‐1H‐imidazoles via the condensation of benzoin or acetoin, aromatic aldehydes, and ammonium acetate using europium triflate [Eu(OTf)₃] as a novel catalyst in high yields is described. The catalyst can be recovered conveniently and reused at least four times without any loss of activity.     

1,1,3,3‐N,N,N′,N′‐Tetramethylguanidinium Trifluoroacetate Ionic Liquid–Promoted Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of Trisubstituted Imidazoles

Trisubstituted imidazoles have been synthesized in very short reaction times with excellent yields in the presence of 1,1,3,3‐N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylguanidinium trifluoroacetate as an ionic liquid at 100°C. The ionic liquid can be recycled for subsequent reactions without any appreciable loss of efficiency.     

Facile One‐Pot Synthesis of 2‐Aryl‐substituted Nitriles and 2‐Aryl‐3‐keto Nitriles via Benzyne Reaction

2‐Aryl‐substituted nitriles were prepared in good to excellent yields in a one‐pot reaction by the reaction of benzyne, generated using neutral conditions from (phenyl)[o‐(trimethylsilyl)‐phenyl]iodonium triflate, and 2‐lithionitriles. 3‐Keto nitriles substituted at the 2‐position were obtained in good yields when these reactions were trapped with acid chlorides. The mechanism of the benzyne reaction in terms of a N‐lithiobenzocyclobutanimine intermediate is discussed.     

One‐Pot Synthesis of Iminoimidazolines under Microwave Irradiation in Solvent‐Free Conditions

Substituted iminoimidazolines were synthesized from a one‐pot reaction of aromatic or hetero‐aromatic amines with imidazolidine‐2‐thione under solvent‐free conditions using microwave irradiation with good to excellent yields.
