This communication describes the synthesis of Schiff base calix[4]arene (1) in which the Schiff base unit bridges two opposite hydroxy groups ofp-tert-butylcalix[4]arene. The synthesis of (1) has been achieved by refluxing in acetonitrile-methanol the appropriate 1,3-dicarbaldehyde-p-tert-butyl-calix[4]arene (4) with 1,3-diaminopropane. The yield of the reaction is 19%. Ligand (1) possesses a compartment containing two nitrogen atoms, four ether-type oxygen atoms, and two ionizable hydroxy groups likely to complex metal cations.  相似文献

In the present study, two novel calix[4]arene receptors containing triphenylamine units in 1,3-alternate conformation have been synthesized and characterized in detail. First, the 25,27-dipropoxy-26,28-bis[(3-aminopropyl)oxy]-calix[4]arene 4 and 25,26,27,28-tetra[(3-aminopropyl)oxy]-calix[4]arene 7 were prepared by using convenient reagents. Then, these amino derivatives of calix[4]arene were converted to Schiff base derivatives appended to triphenylamine of calix[4]arene (5 and 8) using 4-formyltriphenylamine via condensation. The 1,3-alternate conformation of the synthesized calix[4]arenes was determined by 1H and 13C NMR analyses. Also, their structures have been characterized by using 1H and 13C NMR, infrared, and elemental analyses.

The article describes the synthesis and extraction properties of a new chiral calix[4]arene Schiff base ligand 5, which has been synthesized from 5,17-diformyl-25,27-bis-(4-nitrobenzyloxy)-26,28-dihidroxycalix[4]arene (4) by treatment with (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine. In this synthesis, it was thought to explore the role of chiral, as well as Schiff base sites in the recognition of targeted species ions (such as dichromate anions) as well as neutral/chiral molecules. At low pH, the ligand 5 is more effective for transferring the dichromate anions from an aqueous into a dichloromethane layer; may be due to the protonation of nitrogen atoms.

The extraction properties of ligand 5 towards the some selected α -amino acid methylesters are also reported. However, the ligand 5 did not display any selectivity towards the selected α-amino acid methylesters.  相似文献

Four p‐tert‐butylcalix[4]arene derivatives with different Schiff base groups at the lower rim were efficiently prepared in three steps. p‐tert‐Butylcalix[4]arene was firstly O‐peralkylated with ω‐haloalkylphthalimide in the system of NaH/DMF to give calixarene tetraalkylphthalimides, which were in turn hydrazinolyzed to give tetraaminoalkylcalixarenes. Then by condensation of the latter with salicylaldehyde and 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde, a series of calixarene Schiff bases were obtained in satisfying yields. The complexing properties of these Schiff bases for transition metal ions were investigated with UV spectroscopy.  相似文献

The synthesis and properties of upperrim Schiff base calix[4]arenes are described in thisarticle. Tetrakis-p-bromomethylcalix[4]arene(1) reacts with hexamethylenetetramine to givetetrakis-p-formylcalix[4]arene (2) in highyield. Then upper rim Schiff base calix[4]arenes 3 can be easily synthesized by 2 reacting withappropriate alkylamines. Herein we report the synthesis of several calix[4]arene derivatives with tetrathiafulvalene bridges at the upper rim. Calix[4]arene-tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) conjugates 4a–d, fixed in cone conformation and comprising two smaller 1,2-bridges, were prepared by cyclisation of tetrakis-chloromethylated calix[4]arene 1 with 2,3-dithiolates of TTFs. Larger calix[4]arene-TTF macrocycles 14 and 15, also in cone conformation, contain 1,3-bridges and were synthesised by cyclisation of 2,6- and 2,7-dithiolates of TTFs with bis-bromomethylated calix[4]arene 7. Redox properties of new calix[4]arene-TTF conjugates were characterised using cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis and full characterization of eight new calix[n]arene sulfonate esters including their conformational analysis were carried out. While p-tBucalix[6]arene and p-tBu-calix[8]arene esters are conformationally labile in the temperature interval of 25–100°C, p-tBu-calix[4]arene mono-and diesters were isolated as stable conformers at ambient temperature. Two 1,3-functionalised compounds of these derivatives, p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene ditriflate (5) and dimesylate (6) were shown unexpectedly high conformational stability up to 100°C by dynamic NMR measurements. The NMR measurements confirm the pinched-cone conformation for both derivatives. For the dealkylated calix[4]arene derivatives the partial cone conformer of the triesters have been obtained as major products in all cases.  相似文献

In the present study, the synthesis and liquid phase extraction properties towards some amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols of Schiff base and amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene are reported. The Schiff base substituted calix[4]arene 5 has been synthesized via condensation reaction involving 5,17-diformyl-11,23-di-tert-butyl-25,27-di[3-(4-formylphenoxy)propoxy]-26,28 dihydroxycalix[4]arene 4 and (R)-(?)-2-phenylglycine methyl ester in CHCl3:MeOH. To give the amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene 6, the synthesized chiral compound 5 was reduced by LiAlH4. The new chiral Schiff base and amino alcohol derivatives of calix[4]arene have been characterized by a combination of FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FAB-MS and elemental analysis. Also, the extraction behaviors of 5 and 6 towards some selected amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols have been studied by liquid–liquid extraction.  相似文献

Herein the synthesis and extraction abilities of new d-/l-phenylalaninol substituted p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene triamide derivatives (3 and 4) towards amino acids are reported. These compounds (3 and 4) have been easily synthesized via aminolysis of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene trimethylester (2) with d-/l-phenylalaninol in methanol-toluen solvent system at one step. The extraction properties of the prepared chiral calix[4]arene triamide derivatives (3 and 4) towards some selected amino acid methylesters are studied by liquid–liquid extraction. Results show that these chiral calix[4]arene triamide derivatives (3 and 4) exhibited a good affinity towards all amino acid species without any remarkably discrimination.  相似文献

Several new nitrogen-containingcalixarene derivatives have been synthesized andtheir ion-binding properties investigated byUV spectroscopy and solventextraction. These derivatives include5,11,17,23-tetra-t-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(piperidinocarbonylmethoxy)calix[4]arene (5),5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-t-butyl-49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56-octa(piperidinocarbonylmethoxy)calix[8]arene (6) and5,11,17,23,29,35,41,47-octa-t-butyl-49,50,51,52,53,54,55,56-octa(N,N-diethyl-car-bamoyl-methoxy)calix[8]arene(7). The UV spectra of and 7revealed they had an ability to transform tight lead picrate ionpairs into separated ones by complexationwith Pb2+ in tetrahydrofuran.Both derivatives give 1 : 1 complexes with Pb2+. Extraction studies showed that these derivativescould efficiently extract Pb2+ (as picrate salts) from the aqueous phase into chloroform. Theextractability of these derivatives were also compared with that ofthe oxygen-containing ester derivative calix[8]arene 2 and the other two nitrogen-containingcompounds 8 and 9.  相似文献

The binding properties of two phenylketones (2a and 3a) and two ethylesters (2b and {3b) derived from p-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene or from p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene, in the cone conformation, towards transition (Ag+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Co2+, Zn2+, Fe2+ and Mn2+) and heavy (Cd2+, Hg2+ and Pb2+) metal cations have been determined by extraction studies with metal picrates and liquid membrane transport experiments with the same salts. The affinity of these ligands for Ag+ has also been investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Both ketones are better extractants than the esters, and show a strong preference for Ag+, while Cu2+ is the most extracted cation with the esters. 1H NMR titrations with AgSO3CF3 indicate 1 : 1 complexes for all ligands, those with ketones are more stable, on the NMR time scale, than those with esters. Both esters are good carriers for Ag+, and 2b exhibits the highest transport rate (4.7 mol h-1) found until now with dihomooxacalix[4]arene derivatives.  相似文献

Calix[4]arene derivatives fixed in the 1,3-alternate conformation and substituted at one side by four carbamoylmethylphosphine oxide (CMPO) residues were synthesised. Two CMPO groups are directly attached to the wide rim, while the second pair is bound to the narrow rim via a tri- or tetramethylene spacer. Similar compounds, in which two CMPO groups at the wide rim are combined with two picolinamide groups or two ionisable carboxylic groups at the narrow rim, were also prepared. Some of these calixarene derivatives were studied as extractants for lanthanides (La3+, Eu3+, Yb3+) and thorium (Th4+) from acidic solution into methylene chloride. For selected samples, stability constants in methanol were determined by spectrophotometric titrations. Three compounds (1b′, 13, 17) in the 1,3-alternate conformation and one intermediate in the cone conformation (18) were confirmed by a crystal structure.  相似文献

This article describes extraction properties of mono- (A1A8) and di- (B1B8) substituted azocalix[4]arene analogues. The ionophore solvent extractions of alkaline-earth (Sr2+), basic metal (Pb2+) and transition metal cations (Ag+, Hg+, Hg2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Cr3+) from aqueous phase to organic phase were carried out by azocalix[4]arene derivatives. It has been observed that they show a good extraction behavior toward selected heavy metal (Hg) and toxic metal (Cr), while A4 and B4 prefer Hg+, Hg2+ and Cr3+ among transition metal cations, respectively. The azocalix[4]arenes (A1A8) and (B1B8) are not efficient extractants for all of the selected metal cations, whereas A4 and B4 are selective only for Hg metal cation.  相似文献

Three new thiacalix[4]arene derivatives, 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-di(2-hydroxyethoxy)-26,28-dihydroxythiacalix-{}[4]arene (2), 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-25, 26,27,28-tetrakis[(methylcarboxyl)methoxy]thiacalix[4]arene (3),5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(2-hydroxy-1-propanoxy)thiacalix[4]arene (4), were synthesized for the first time. Four new azocalix[4]arenes {5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(2-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenylazo)]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (1), 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(2-hydroxy-5-nitro phenylazo)]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (2), 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(2-amino-5-carboxylphenylazo)]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (3) and 5,11,17,23-tetrakis[(1-amino-2-hydroxy-4-sulfonicacidnapthylazo)]-25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene (4)} have been synthesized from p-tert-butylphenol, p-nitrophenol, p-aminobenzoic acid and 1-amino-2-hydroxy-4-sulphonic acid by diazo coupling reaction with p-aminocalix[4]arene. The resulting ligands (14) were treated with three transition metal salts (e.g., CuCl2·2H2O, NiCl2·6H2O or CoCl2·6H2O). Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of the azocalix[4]arene derivatives were obtained and characterized by UV-vis, IR, 1H-NMR spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. All the complexes have a metal:ligand ratio of 2:1. The Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes of azocalix[4]arenes are square-planar, while the Co(II) complexes of azocalix[4]arenes are octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. The solvent extraction of various transition metal cations from the aqueous phase to the organic phase was carried out by using azocalix[4]arenes (14). It was found that, azocalix[4]arenes 1, 2 and 3 examined selectivity for transition metal cations such as Ag+, Hg+ and Hg2+. A protocol for the synthesis of 3-[4-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-yl]-2-(4-aryl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one derivatives (5a–e) has been developed from 1-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-2-bromoethanone (2),which served as a key intermediate for the synthesis of the title compounds. The reaction of compound 2 with thiourea furnished 4-(1-benzofuran-2-yl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine 3, which upon further reaction with various aromatic aldehydes, gave Schiff bases 4a–e. These Schiff bases, when treated with thioacetic acid in the presence of catalytic amount of anhydrous ZnCl2, yielded thiazolidinone derivatives 5a–e. All the newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectral data and screened for their antimicrobial and analgesic activity.

The first example of a calix[8]quinone derivative, hexamethoxy-p-tert-butylcalix[8]-1,5-diquinone 5, has been synthesized from p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene 1by exploiting a protection-deprotection procedure. The structure of the 5·toluene inclusion compound has been determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The calix[8]arene molecule possesses a crystallographic inversion centre and assumes a ‘pseudo-chair-like’ conformation, with two opposite 3/4-cone moieties, which resembles the previously reported chair-like conformation of p-tert-butylcalix[8]arene. The 4 toluene molecules per unit cell occupy interstitial voids and are released in the temperature range of 30–160 °C.This revised version was published online in July 2005 with a corrected issue number.  相似文献
