Well-crystallized 250 nm-thick SrTiO3 thin films on fused-quartz substrate were prepared by pulsed laser deposition. The band-gap of SrTiO3 thin film by transmittance spectra is equal to 3.50 eV, larger than 3.22 eV for the bulk crystal. The nonlinear optical properties of the films were examined with picosecond pulses at 1.064 μm excitation. A large two-photon absorption (TPA) with absorption coefficient of 87.7 cm/GW was obtained, larger than 51.7 cm/GW for BaTiO3 thin films. The nonlinear refractive index n2 is equal to 5.7×10−10 esu with a negative sign, larger than 0.267×10−11 esu for bulk SrTiO3. The large TPA is attributed to intermediate energy levels introduced by the grain boundaries, and the optical limiting behaviors stemming from both TPA and negative nonlinear refraction were also discussed.  相似文献

Ba(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3, (BZT), is a high-k and low loss dielectric resonator material which finds applications in the area of microwave communication and related areas. While there are reports on its bulk properties, there is hardly any report on its thin films. We report here preparation of thin films of BZT deposited on to borosilicate and quartz substrates using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique under different oxygen mixing percentage (OMP) and preliminary studies on their structural and optical properties. The EDAX spectra show that the deposited films exhibit the composition of the target. As-deposited films, whether on a glass or quartz substrate, were found to be amorphous. The refractive index and energy bandgap of the films were found to be around 1.5 in the dispersion free region (500–1500 nm) and 5.2–5.5 eV, respectively. The Dynamic Force Microscopy (DFM) study of the BZT films exhibited columnar growth and films deposited at higher OMPs showed the smaller grain size.  相似文献

Pure VO2 and VO2-WO3 composite thin films were grown on quartz substrate by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The influence of varying WO3 molar concentration in the range from x = 0.0 to x = 0.4 on structural, electrical and optical properties of VO2-WO3 nanocomposite thin films has been systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction studies reveal the single crystalline monoclinic VO2 phase (m-VO2) up to 10% of WO3 content whereas both m-VO2 as well as h-WO3 (hexagonal WO3) phases were present at higher WO3 content (0.2 ≤ x ≤ 0.4). Optical transmittance spectra of the films showed blue shift in the absorption edge with increase in WO3 content. Temperature dependence of resistivity (R-T) measurements indicates significant variation in metal-insulator transition temperature, width of the hysteresis, and shape of the hysteresis curve. Cyclic Voltammetry measurements were performed on VO2-WO3 thin films. A direct correlation between V/W ratio and structure-property relationship was established. The present investigations reveal that doping of WO3 in VO2 is effective to increase the optical transmittance and to reduce the semiconductor to metal phase transition temperature close to room temperature.  相似文献

A new layered nanocomposite, HTaWO6/(Pt, TiO2) was synthesized using n-type semi-conductor HTaWO6 as a host material. HTaWO6 and HTaWO6/TiO2were white, while both HTaWO6/Pt and HTaWO6/(Pt, TiO2) were yellow. The yellow color might be attributed to H1-xTaWO6-x/2 formed by the photo-induced phase transformation promoted by Pt. Although HTaWO6/Pt showed absorption in visible light region (λ > 400 nm), the hydrogen evolution activity was negligibly small. On the other hand HTaWO6/(Pt, TiO2) showed excellent photocatalytic activities even under visible light irradiation. The sample containing rutile type titania such as TiO2(P-25) also showed hydrogen evolution activity, but the activity was smaller than that of HTaWO6/(Pt, TiO2). These results suggested that rutile type titania, which can be excited by visible light of wavelength less than 413 nm, played an important role in the visible light-induced photocatalytic activity. The improvement of the hydrogen evolution activity of rutile type titania by intercalating into HTaWO6/Pt may be due to the depression of the recombination of photoinduced electrons and holes by the heterogeneous electron transfer from rutile type TiO2 to HTaWO6/Pt.  相似文献

The formation and optical response of VOx nanoparticles embedded in amorphous aluminium oxide (Al2O3) thin films by pulsed laser deposition is studied. The thin films have been grown by alternate laser ablation of V and Al2O3 targets, which has resulted in a multilayer structure with embedded nanoparticles. The V content has been varied by changing the number of pulses on the V target. It is found that VOx nanoparticles with dimensions around 5 nm have been formed. The structural analysis shows that the vanadium nanoparticles are oxidized, although probably there is not a unique oxide phase for each sample. The films show a different optical response depending on their vanadium content. Optical switching as a function of temperature has been observed for the two films with the highest vanadium content, at transition temperatures of about −20 °C and 315 °C thus suggesting the presence of nanoparticles with compositions V4O7 and V2O5, respectively.  相似文献

The third-order nonlinear optical properties of two Au(dmit)2/PMMA compound thin films, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bis(1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolato)aurate and tetramethylammonium bis(1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolato)aurate (abbreviated as MeAu and CtAu, respectively) with a doping concentration of 1?wt.% deposited on quartz-glass substrate were characterized by a single beam Z-scan technique at 1064?nm with 20?ps laser pulse width and 10?Hz repetition rate. The dominant nonlinear refraction and tiny nonlinear absorption of both materials lead to a larger possibility for them to be applied as promising candidates of all-optical switching. The results of two figures of merit, |W|?1 and |T|?1, were also calculated; this further validated the excellent properties of the materials for applications of the nonlinear optics.  相似文献

We report protonation in several compounds by an ionic-liquid-gating method, under optimized gating conditions.This leads to single superconducting phases for several compounds. Non-volatility of protons allows post-gating magnetization and transport measurements. The superconducting transition temperature T_c is enhanced to 43.5 K for FeSe_(0.93)S_(0.07), and 41 K for Fe Se after protonation. Superconducting transitions with T_c~15 K for ZrNCl,~7.2 K for 1-TaS_2, and ~3.8 K for Bi_2Se_3 are induced after protonation. Electric transport in protonated FeSe_(0.93)S_(0.07) confirms high-temperature superconductivity. Our~1 H nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)measurements on protonated Fe Se_(1-x)S_x reveal enhanced spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/~1T_1 with increasing x,which is consistent with the LDA calculations that H~+ is located in the interstitial sites close to the anions.  相似文献

基于二能级模型和多能级模型,分析计算了由强聚焦高斯光束形成的光学偶极阱中87Rb原子5S1/2态和5P3/2态的AC Stark频移。基于多能级模型,针对在852 nm高斯激光束强聚焦所形成的87Rb原子远失谐光学偶极阱中进行偏振梯度冷却的情形,计算了冷却循环跃迁(5S1/2F=2-5P3/2F′=3)的频移量,结果显示频移对molasses冷却过程产生了重要的影响。同时,计算了5S1/2|F=2,mF=±2〉态和5P3/2|F′=3,mF=±3〉态的AC Stark频移随光学偶极阱激光波长的变化情况,发现在红失谐情况下,对于87Rb原子5S1/2-5P3/2态跃迁不存在魔数波长。  相似文献

The fabrication of high quality thin films of poly (vinylidene fluoride) embedded with multiwalled carbon nanotubes using pulsed laser deposition technique is reported. The prepared films were characterized for structural, morphology and dielectric properties. The morphology analysis revealed uniform dispersion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes throughout the polymer matrix. X-ray diffraction results suggested that the poly (vinylidene fluoride) film is in amorphous phase while addition of multiwalled carbon nanotubes showed presence of crystalline peaks in the nanocomposites films. It was interesting to note that the nanocomposite films exhibits significant enhancement of the ferroelectric β-phase as evidenced by the X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results. The dielectric analysis shows a remarkable enhancement in the dielectric permittivity of nanocomposites with lower loss and conductivity level. The results can be attributed to the formation of minicapacitor network and relatively higher percolation threshold in the nanocomposites.  相似文献

We study the magnetic ground state in La(2/3)Ca(1/3)Mn(1-x)Ga x O3 manganites, where a quantum critical point (QCP) has been theoretically predicted. The metallic ferromagnetic ground state for low Ga doping breaks down for x > or = 0.11, an insulating state being established at low temperatures. Long-range ferromagnetism coexists with short-range magnetic correlations in the concentration range 0.11 < or = x < or = 0.145 while only the short-range correlations survive for x > or = 0.16. We discuss the implications of such a QCP to the physics of manganites and compare to other QCP systems.  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally that the efficiency of writing a long-period fiber grating in a single-mode fiber by CO(2) laser pulses increases significantly with the axial stress applied along the fiber. We attribute the enhancement in writing efficiency to the generation of nonuniform inelastic frozen-in strains across the fiber under tension by CO(2) laser heating. Controlling the axial stress distribution along a fiber during the CO(2) laser writing process thus provides an additional degree of freedom for control of the grating characteristics.  相似文献

Cux(Cu2O)1-x(0.09 x 1.00) granular films with thickness about 280 nm have been fabricated by direct current reactive magnetron sputtering. The atomic ratio x can be controlled by the oxygen flow rate during Cux(Cu2O)1-x deposition. Room-temperature ferromagnetism(FM) is found in all of the samples. The saturated magnetization increases at first and then decreases with the decrease of x. The photoluminescence spectra show that the magnetization is closely correlated with the Cu vacancies in the Cux(Cu2O)1-x granular films. Fundamentally, the FM could be understood by the Stoner model based on the charge transfer mechanism. These results may provide solid evidence and physical insights on the origin of FM in the Cu2O-based oxides diluted magnetic semiconductors, especially for systems without intentional magnetic atom doping.  相似文献

We observed very intense and highly reproducible photoluminescence (PL) spectra for SiOx films obtained by laser ablation of Si targets in 50-mTorr oxygen gas followed by proper annealing. It was found that the PL peak continuously changes from 1.4 eV at the center of the samples to 1.8 eV at the sample edge. The optimum values of the oxygen component in SiOx was x=1.3-1.4 and the optimum annealing temperature was 1000 °C for intense PL. From transmission electron microscopy images of annealed films, Si nanocrystallites are found to be formed in the matrix of SiO2 grown from the SiOx and have diameters of 2-3 nm. These indicate that a high density of Si nanocrystallites with diameters of 2-3 nm in the SiO2 phase are probably responsible for the PL and that the Si nanostructure is well formed from the as-deposited, metastable SiOx (x=1.3-1.4) films by annealing at 1000 °C.  相似文献

The laser initiated formation of Cd-deposits from dimethylcadmium (DMCd) on quartz substrates has been investigated at various wavelengths between 337 and 676 nm. In this range substrate and DMCd are both transparent. The deposition mechanism is initiated by multiphoton dissociation of DMCd molecules adsorbed at the glass substrate and continues by pyrolysis of DMCd molecules at the laser-heated metallic deposit. ZnO-Al2O3 nanocomposite thin films were prepared by sol-gel technique. The room temperature synthesis was mainly based on the successful peptization of boehmite (AlO(OH)) and Al(OH)3 compounds, so as to use it as matrix to confine ZnO nanoparticles. The relative molar concentrations of xZnO to (1 − x) Al2O3 were varied as x = 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5. The optical absorption spectra of the thin films showed intense UV absorption peaks with long tails of variable absorption in the visible region of the spectra. The ZnO-Al2O3 nanocomposites thin films were doped with MgO by varying its molar concentrations as y = 0.05, 0.75, 0.1, 0.125, 0.15 and 0.2 with respect to the ZnO present in the composite. The MgO doped thin films showed suppression of the intense absorption peaks that was previously attained for undoped samples. The disappearance of the absorption peaks was analyzed in terms of the crystalline features and lattice defects in the nanocomposite system. The bulk absorption edge, which is reportedly found at 3.37 eV, was shifted to 5.44 eV (for y = 0.05), 5.63 eV (for y = 0.075) and maximum to 5.77 eV (for y = 0.1). In contrast, beyond the concentration, y = 0.1 the absorption edges were moved to 5.67 eV (for y = 0.125), 5.61 eV (for y = 0.15) and to 5.49 eV (for y = 0.2). This trend was explained in terms of the Burstein-Moss shift of the absorption edges.  相似文献

Composition dependence of electrocaloric effect is investigated in(1- x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3- xP b Ti O3 single crystals by using an eighth-order Landau–Devonshire theory. The applied electric field along [001] direction reduces the ferroelectric-ferroelectric phase transition temperatures, but increases the Curie temperatures. The electrocaloric coefficients of tetragonal phase are much larger than that of rhombohedral and monoclinic phase. A negative electrocaloric effect is observed near the MC-T phase transition in 0.69Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.31 Pb Ti O3 single crystal. The application of a strong enough electric field results in a high adiabatic temperature change over a broad range of temperature.Therefore, it would be useful to construct a solid state cooling cycle over a broad temperature range for practical applications.  相似文献

An organometallic complex, bis(tetra-n-propylammonium)bis(2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolato)cuprate(II), [(C3H7)4N]2[Cu(dmit)2] (dmit2?=4,5-dithiolate-1,3-dithiole-2-thione), abbreviated as PrCu, was synthesized. The films of PrCu were prepared using spin coating method. The third-order nonlinear optical properties of PrCu in acetone solution and PMMA films were investigated by Z-scan technique at 1064 nm with laser duration of 20 ps. The Z-scan spectra reveal that the composite films exhibit large negative nonlinear refractive indices of the order of 10?15 m2/W, which are three orders larger than that in acetone solution. The nonlinear absorption coefficients were calculated to be 9.416×10?10 m/W. For the composite films, the figure of merit, W and T, meet the requirement of all-optical switching devices. The experimental results show that the PrCu-doped PMMA films have potential applications for nonlinear optical devices.  相似文献
