Topological insulators/superconductors are new states of quantum matter with metallic edge/surface states.In this paper,we review the defects effect in these topological states and study new types of topological matters — topological hierarchy matters.We find that both topological defects(quantized vortices) and non topological defects(vacancies) can induce topological mid-gap states in the topological hierarchy matters after considering the superlattice of defects.These topological mid-gap states have nontrivial topological properties,including the nonzero Chern number and the gapless edge states.Effective tight-binding models are obtained to describe the topological mid-gap states in the topological hierarchy matters.  相似文献

We define a class of lattice models for two-dimensional topological phases with boundary such that both the bulk and the boundary excitations are gapped. The bulk part is constructed using a unitary tensor category C{\mathcal C} as in the Levin-Wen model, whereas the boundary is associated with a module category over C{\mathcal C} . We also consider domain walls (or defect lines) between different bulk phases. A domain wall is transparent to bulk excitations if the corresponding unitary tensor categories are Morita equivalent. Defects of higher codimension will also be studied. In summary, we give a dictionary between physical ingredients of lattice models and tensor-categorical notions.  相似文献

近来,人们在凝聚态体系中发现了由拓扑不变量定义的物相,其中最重要的有拓扑绝缘体、拓扑半金属和拓扑超导体等.这些物相的拓扑性质由非平凡的拓扑数描述,相应的材料被称为拓扑材料,具有诸多新奇的物理特性.其中拓扑超导体由于边界上有满足非阿贝尔统计的Majorana零能模,成为实现拓扑量子计算的主要候选材料.除了探索本征的拓扑超导体外,由于拓扑性质上的相似性,在不超导的拓扑材料中调制出超导自然成为了实现拓扑超导的重要手段.目前,人们发展了栅极调制、掺杂、高压、近邻效应调制和硬针尖点接触等多种技术,已经成功地在许多拓扑绝缘体和半金属中诱导出了超导,并对超导的拓扑性和Majorana零能模进行了研究.本文回顾了本征拓扑超导候选材料,以及拓扑绝缘体和半金属中诱导出超导的代表性工作,评述了不同实验手段的优势和缺陷、分析了其超导拓扑性的证据,并提出展望.  相似文献

The topological charge density and topological susceptibility are determined by a multi-probing approximation using overlap fermions in quenched SU(3) gauge theory. Then we investigate the topological structure of the quenched QCD vacuum, and compare it with results from the all-scale topological density. The results are consistent.Random permuted topological charge density is used to check whether these structures represent underlying ordered properties. The pseudoscalar glueball mass is extracted from the two-point correlation function of the topological charge density. We study 3 ensembles of different lattice spacing a with the same lattice volume 16~3×32. The results are compatible with the results of all-scale topological charge density, and the topological structures revealed by multi-probing are much closer to all-scale topological charge density than those from eigenmode expansion.  相似文献

With the rapid development of topological states in crystals, the study of topological states has been extended to quasicrystals in recent years. In this review, we summarize the recent progress of topological states in quasicrystals, particularly focusing on one-dimensional (1D) and 2D systems. We first give a brief introduction to quasicrystalline structures. Then, we discuss topological phases in 1D quasicrystals where the topological nature is attributed to the synthetic dimensions associated with the quasiperiodic order of quasicrystals. We further present the generalization of various types of crystalline topological states to 2D quasicrystals, where real-space expressions of corresponding topological invariants are introduced due to the lack of translational symmetry in quasicrystals. Finally, since quasicrystals possess forbidden symmetries in crystals such as five-fold and eight-fold rotation, we provide an overview of unique quasicrystalline symmetry-protected topological states without crystalline counterpart.  相似文献

The symmetries and topological properties of the topological counterparts in 1D non-Hermitian systems are investigated. It is found that, after applying the non-unitary similarity transformation, the non-unitary topological counterpart in real space exhibits completely different global symmetries except for the sublattice symmetry and reveals many brand new local symmetries. Due to the abundant symmetries of non-unitary topological counterparts, it is also found that the unique overlapping projections about the unit sphere vector representing the eigenstates appear in the nontrivial regions, and the triviality of the point-gap topology of non-unitary topological counterpart completely eliminate the intrinsic skin effect in non-Hermitian systems. It is also shown that the unitary topological counterpart never arises any changes for the original symmetries and topological structures even in real space. Unitary topological counterparts are further summarized about the two-band Bloch Hamiltonian, which can expand the definition of non-Bloch winding number. Furthermore, it is demonstrated theoretically that the Bloch Hamiltonian would still hold time-reversal symmetry, abnormal particle-hole symmetry, and sublattice symmetry even suffering from the non-unitary transformation. This work provides a new way to understand the roles of symmetry and topology in non-Hermitian systems from the perspective of topological counterparts.  相似文献

拓扑超导体自身具有对量子退相干天然的免疫性以及可编织性,这使得它在现代量子计算领域中受到了越来越多的重视,并且成为了下一代计算技术中最有希望的候选者之一。由于拓扑超导态在固有拓扑超导体中相当罕见,因此,当前大部分实验上的工作主要集中在由 s 波超导体与拓扑绝缘体之间通过近邻效应所诱导的拓扑超导体上。本论文中,我们回顾了基于拓扑绝缘体/超导体异质结的拓扑超导体的研究进展。在理论上,Fu 和 Kane 提出,通过近邻效应将 s 波超导体的能隙引入到拓扑绝缘体,可以诱导出拓扑超导电性。在实验上,我们也回顾了一些不同体系中的拓扑超导近邻效应的研究进展。文章的第一部分,我们介绍了一些异质结,包括:三维拓扑绝缘体 Bi2Se3和 Bi2Se3 与 s 波超导体NbSe2 以及 d 波超导体 Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ 的异质结,拓扑绝缘体 Sn1−xPbxTe 与 Pb 的异质结,二维拓扑绝缘体 WTe2 与NbSe2 的异质结。此外,还介绍了 TiBiSe2 在 Pb 上的拓扑绝缘近邻效应。另一部分中,我们对基于拓扑绝缘体的约瑟夫森结进行了回顾,包括著名的基于 Fu-Kane 体系的拓扑绝缘体约瑟夫森结,以及基于约瑟夫森结的超导量子干涉器件。  相似文献

We study the topological properties of a one-dimensional (1D) hardcore Bose-Fermi mixture using the exact diagonalization method. We firstly add a hardcore boson to a fermionic system and by examining the edge states we find that the quasi-particle manifests the topological properties of the system. Then we study a mixture with 7 fermions and 1 boson. We find that the mixture also exhibits topological properties and its behaviors are similar to that of the corresponding fermionic system. We present a qualitative explanation to understand such behaviors using the mapping between a hardcore boson and a spinless fermion. These results show the existence of topological properties in a 1D hardcore Bose-Fermi mixture and may be realized using cold atoms trapped in optical lattices experimentally.  相似文献

本文研究了一维公度势和非公度势调制下的p波超导量子线系统的拓扑相变.在公度势调制下,通过计算Z2拓扑不变量确定系统的相图,指出系统的拓扑相变强烈地依赖于调制参数α和相移δ.在非公度势调制下,以α=(√5-1)/2,δ=0为例,计算系统的低能激发谱、Z2拓扑不变量以及逆参与率等,发现p波配对强度△∈(0,0.33)时,系统存在拓扑非平庸超导相,拓扑平庸超导相和拓扑平庸局域相的转变.而当p波配对强度△>0.33时,系统存在拓扑非平庸超导相和拓扑平庸局域相的转变.  相似文献

We consider a (3+1)-dimensional local field theory defined on the sphere S 2. The model possesses exact soliton solutions with nontrivial Hopf topological charges and an infinite number of local conserved currents. We show that the Poisson bracket algebra of the corresponding charges is isomorphic to that of the area-preserving diffeomorphisms of the sphere S 2. We also show that the conserved currents under consideration are the Noether currents associated to the invariance of the Lagrangian under that infinite group of diffeomorphisms. We indicate possible generalizations of the model.  相似文献

拓扑现象对于病毒颗粒的空间分布、高分子聚合物纳米囊泡的成型以及玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚物等方面都发挥着重要作用.本文利用Landau-de Gennes理论,构建模型来模拟液晶中拓扑荷分布及其他现象.通过对数值模型序参量场的演化,以及模拟液晶薄膜中所生成的拓扑荷之间的相互作用来分析液晶(Lqc)薄膜的尺寸对拓扑荷的影响.研究结果表明,随着液晶盘半径增大,拓扑荷间最优距离与半径之比渐增并趋于稳定.此研究结论对利用拓扑荷凝聚颗粒物效应设计分离容器有指导意义,有助于进一步理解拓扑胶体和液晶以及液晶共聚物等软物质中的拓扑现象.  相似文献

Various novel physical properties have emerged in Dirac electronic systems, especially the topological characters protected by symmetry. Current studies on these systems have been greatly promoted by the intuitive concepts of Berry phase and Berry curvature, which provide precise definitions of the topological phases. In this topical review, transport properties of topological insulator(Bi2Se3), topological Dirac semimetal(Cd3As2), and topological insulator-graphene heterojunction are presented and discussed. Perspectives about transport properties of two-dimensional topological nontrivial systems,including topological edge transport, topological valley transport, and topological Weyl semimetals, are provided.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend Parikh's recent work to two kinds of the black holes whose ADM mass is no longer identical to its mass parameter, each with a topological defect, one being a global monopole black hole and another a cosmic string black hole. We view Hawking radiation as a tunnelling process across the event horizon and calculate the tunnelling probability. From the tunnelling probability we also find a leading correction to the semiclassical emission rate. The results are consistent with an underlying unitary theory.  相似文献

We investigate a tight-binding model of the ruby lattice with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. We calculate the band structure of the lattice and evaluate the Z2 topological indices. According to the Z2 topological indices and the band structure, we present the phase diagrams of the lattice with different filling fractions. We find that topological insulators occur in some range of parameters at 1/6, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 and 5/6 filling fractions. We analyze and discuss the characteristics of these topological insulators and their edge states.  相似文献

由于丰富的拓扑量子效应及巨大的潜在应用价值,拓扑材料逐渐成为凝聚态物理前沿的研究材料体系。其中,作为与石墨烯具有相似电子结构的材料,三维拓扑半金属吸引了越来越多的研究兴趣。目前已知的拓扑半金属大多为非磁性的,而磁性拓扑半金属数量有限,与非磁性拓扑半金属相比较,研究开展的还比较少。磁性与拓扑之间的相互作用能够导致非常规的物理性质,如反常霍尔效应甚至量子反常霍尔效应等。此外,在一些具有特殊磁结构的拓扑半金属中,施加外磁场能够调制其自旋结构,从而影响其拓扑能带结构。在该综述中,笔者将详细介绍利用外磁场在 EuCd2Pn2 (Pn = As, Sb) 反铁磁半金属材料中通过调制自旋结构从而改变晶体结构对称性来诱导拓扑相变。此外,笔者也将简单介绍包括 GdPtBi 和 MnBi2Te4 在内的几个相关材料。该综述中讨论的外磁场调控的磁交换诱导的拓扑相变不仅有望应用于拓扑器件,也有助于为理解磁性与拓扑态之间的紧密关联提供新的线索,对于设计新的磁性拓扑材料有启发意义。综述最后,笔者对发展磁性拓扑半金属做了一些简单展望。  相似文献

Using the notion of topological entropy for non-compact sets we prove that for a C 1+ -map with a finite Markov partition the corresponding coding map preserves topological entropy of subsets. The gauge-invariant topological charge is defined for, and the inequalities supplying the lower bound on the action of an SO(4) gauged O(5) sigma model in four dimensions are established. The consistency of the solution with finiteness of the action and with topological stability is briefly verified for a particular dynamical example.
