This work exploited a sequential injection lab-on-valve (LOV) system for the determination of cadmium by anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV). A miniaturized electrochemical flow cell (EFC) was fabricated in LOV, in which a nafion coated bismuth film electrode was used as working electrode. The cadmium was electrodeposited on the electrode surface in bismuth solution, and measured with the subsequential stripping scan. Under optimal conditions, the proposed system responded linearly to cadmium concentrations in a range 2.0-100.0 μg L−1. The detection limit of this method was found to be 0.88 μg L−1. By loading a sample volume of 800 μL, a sampling frequency of 22 determinations h−1 was achieved. The repeatability expressed as relative standard derivation (R.S.D.) was 3.65% for 20 μg L−1 cadmium (n = 11). The established method was applied to analysis of trace cadmium in environmental water samples and the spiked recoveries were satisfactory. 相似文献

As a representation of metalloproteins, metallothionein (MT), which plays important biological and environmental roles such as in the metabolism and detoxification of some metals, was detected at bismuth film electrode (BiFE) by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). In pH 2–5.5, two well-defined anodic peaks were produced and attributed to the Zn2+ and Cd2+ inherent to MT. The calibration plot of DPASV peak currents for Cd2+ inherent to MT versus MT concentrations showed a good linearity with a detection limit of 3.86 × 10−8 mol/L for MT. As a non-toxic excellent electrode material, BiFE shows good performance for detecting MT, and is expected to find further applications in the studies of many other metalloproteins. 相似文献

Bismuth film electrode (BiFE) was shown to be an attractive alternative to common mercury film electrode (MFE) for anodic stripping voltammetric measurements. In this study, bismuth film, that was in situ deposited onto glassy carbon electrode, was used to detect zinc content of milkvetch, used in traditional Chinese medicine. Variables affecting the response have been evaluated and optimized. Experimental results showed a high response, with a good linearity (between 0.5 × 10−6 mol L−1 and 3 × 10−6 mol L−1) a good precision (R.S.D. = 3.58%) and a low detection limit (9.6 × 10−9 mol L−1 with a 120 s anodic). The anodic stripping performance makes the bismuth film electrode very desirable for measurements of trace nutritive element zinc in milkvetch and should impart possible restrictions on the use of mercury electrode. 相似文献

Catalytic adsorptive stripping determination of trace chromium (VI) at the bismuth film electrode 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A sensitive adsorptive stripping voltammetric protocol at a bismuth-coated glassy-carbon electrode for trace measurements of chromium (VI) in the presence of diethylenetriammine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) is described. The new protocol is based on accumulation of the Cr-DTPA complex at a preplated bismuth film electrode held at −0.80 V, followed by a negatively-going square-wave voltammetric waveform. Factors influencing the stripping performance including the film preparation, solution pH, DTPA and nitrate concentrations, deposition potential and deposition time, have been optimized. The resulting performance compares well with that observed for analogous measurements at mercury film electrodes. A preconcentration time of 7 min results in a detection limit of 0.3 nM Cr(VI) and after 2 min a relative standard deviation at 20 nM of 5.1% (n = 25). Applicability to river water samples is demonstrated. The attractive behavior of the new “mercury-free” chromium sensor holds great promise for on-site environmental and industrial monitoring of chromium (VI). Preliminary data in this direction using bismuth-coated screen-printed electrodes are encouraging. 相似文献

This paper describes the fabrication, characterisation and the application of a Nafion/2,2′-bipyridyl/bismuth composite film-coated glassy carbon electrode (NC(Bpy)BiFE) for the anodic stripping voltammetric determination of trace metal ions (Zn2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+). The NC(Bpy)BiFE electrode is prepared by first applying a 2.5 mm3 drop of a coating solution containing 0.5 wt% Nafion and 0.1% (w/v) 2,2′-bipyridil (Bpy) onto the surface of a glassy carbon electrode, while the Bi film was plated in situ simultaneously with the target metal ions at −1.4 V. The main advantage of the polymer coated bismuth film electrode is that the sensitivity of the stripping responses is increased considerably due to the incorporation of the neutral chelating agent of 2,2′-bipyridyl (Bpy) in the Nafion film, while the Nafion coating improved the mechanical stability of the bismuth film and its resistance to the interference of surfactants. The key experimental parameters relevant to both the electrode fabrication and the voltammetric measurement were optimized on the basis of the stripping signals. With a 2 min deposition time in the presence of oxygen, linear calibration curves were obtained in a wide concentration range (about 2-0.001 μM) with detection limits of 8.6 nM (0.56 μg dm−3) for Zn2+, 1.1 nM (0.12 μg dm−3) for Cd2+ and 0.37 nM (0.077 μg dm−3) for Pb2+. For nine successive preconcentration/determination/electrode renewal experiments the standard deviations were between 3 and 5% at 1.2 μM for zinc and 0.3-0.3 μM concentration level for lead and cadmium, respectively, and the method exhibited excellent selectivity in the presence of the excess of several potential interfering metal ions. The analytical utility of the stripping voltammetric method elaborated was tested in the assay of heavy metals in some real samples and the method was validated by ICP-MS technique. 相似文献

Procedures for trace cobalt determinations by adsorptive stripping voltammetry at in situ and ex situ plated bismuth film electrodes are presented. These exploit the enhancement of the cobalt peak obtained by using the Co(II)–dimethylglyoxime–cetyltrimethylammonium bromide–piperazine-N,N-bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid) system. The calibration graph for an accumulation time of 120 s was linear from 2 × 10–10 to 2 × 10–8 mol L–1. The relative standard deviation from five determinations of cobalt at a concentration of 5 × 10–9 mol L–1 was 5.2%. The detection limit for an accumulation time of 300 s was 1.8 × 10–11 mol L–1. The proposed procedure was applied to cobalt determination in certified reference materials and in tap and river water samples. 相似文献

A sensitive method is described for the determination of trace bismuth based on the bismuth-bromopyrogallol red (BPR) adsorption at a carbon paste electrode (CPE). The overall analysis involved a three-step procedure: accumulation, reduction, and anodic stripping. Optimal conditions were found to be an electrode containing 25% paraffin oil and 75% high purity graphite powder, a 0.30 mol l−1 HCl solution containing 2.0×10−5 mol l−1 BPR as supporting medium; accumulation potential and time, −0.10 V, 3 min; reduction potential and time, −0.35 V, 60 s; scan rate 100 mV s−1; scan range from −0.35 to 0.15 V. It was found that the Bi(III)-BPR complex could be accumulated on the electrode surface during the accumulation period. Then the Bi(III) in the Bi(III)-BPR complex on the CPE surface was reduced to Bi(0) during reduction interval and finally reoxidized during the anodic stripping step for voltammetric quantification. Factors affecting the accumulation, reduction, and stripping steps were investigated. Interferences by other ions were studied as well. The detection limit was found to be 5×10−10 mol l−1 with a 3 min accumulation time. The linear range was from 1.0×10−9 to 5.0×10−7 mol l−1. Application of the procedure to the determination of bismuth in water and human hair samples gave good results. 相似文献

The bismuth film electrode (BiFE), in combination with anodic stripping voltammetry, offers convenient measurement of low concentrations of tin. The procedure involves simultaneous in situ formation of the bismuth film electrode on a glassy carbon substrate electrode, together with electrochemical deposition of tin, in a non-deaerated model solution containing bismuth ions, catechol as complexing agent and the metal analyte, followed by an anodic stripping scan. The BiFE is characterized by an attractive electroanalytical performance, with two distinct voltammetric stripping signals corresponding to tin, accompanied with low background contributions. Several experimental parameters were optimized, such as concentration of bismuth ions and catechol, deposition potential, deposition time and pH of the model solution. In addition, a critical comparison is given with bare glassy carbon and mercury film electrodes, revealing the superior characteristics of BiFE for measurement of tin. BiFE exhibited highly linear behavior in the examined concentration range from 1 to 100 μg L−1 of tin (R2 = 0.997), an LoD of 0.26 μg L−1 tin, and good reproducibility with a calculated R.S.D. of 7.3% for 10 μg L−1 tin (n = 10). As an example, the practical applicability of BiFE was tested with the measurement of tin in a real sample of seawater. 相似文献

Catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetry (CAdSV) has been demonstrated at a bismuth film electrode (BiFE) in an injection-moulded
electrochemical micro-flow cell. The polystyrene three-electrode flow cell was fabricated with electrodes moulded from a conducting
grade of polystyrene containing 40% carbon fibre, one of which was precoated with Ag to enable its use as an on-chip Ag/AgCl
reference electrode. CAdSV of Co(II) and Ni(II) in the presence of dimethylglyoxime (DMG) with nitrite employed as the catalyst
was performed in order to assess the performance of the flow cell with an in-line plated BiFE. The injection-moulded electrodes
were found to be suitable substrates for the formation of BiFEs. Key parameters such as the plating solution matrix, plating
flow rate, analysis flow rate, solution composition and square-wave parameters have been characterised and optimal conditions
selected for successful and rapid analysis of Co(II) and Ni(II) at the ppb level. The analytical response was linear over
the range 1 to 20 ppb and deoxygenation of the sample solution was not required. The successful coupling of a microfluidic
flow cell with a BiFE, thereby forming a “mercury-free” AdSV flow analysis sensor, shows promise for industrial and in-the-field
applications where inexpensive, compact, and robust instrumentation capable of low-volume analysis is required. 相似文献

This article reports a new simple and sensitive method for the determination of folic acid by adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The method is based on the accumulation of folic acid at a bismuth film plated in situ on a glassy carbon substrate. In order to stabilize bismuth ions, sodium potassium tartrate was added to the supporting electrolyte. The bismuth film formation and folic acid accumulation conditions were optimized and measurements were carried without solution deaeration. The calibration graph was linear from 5 × 10?10 to 2 × 10?8 mole per liter with an accumulation time of 180 seconds with a limit of detection of 2 × 10?10 mole per liter. The relative standard deviation for 5 × 10?9 mole per liter of folic acid was 3.1 percent (n = 5). The method was successfully applied for determination of folic acid in pharmaceutical preparations. 相似文献

A bare glassy carbon electrode is applied to nickel determination by adsorptive stripping voltammetry in the presence of dimethylglyoxime as a complexing agent. A procedure of nickel determination and electrode regeneration was proposed. The calibration graph for Ni(II) for an accumulation time of 120?s was linear from 2?×?10?9 to 1?×?10?7?mol?L?1. The detection limit was 8.2?×?10?10?mol?L?1. The relative standard deviation for a solution containing 2?×?10?8?mol?L?1 of Ni(II) was 4.1%. The proposed procedure was applied for Ni(II) determination in certified water reference materials. 相似文献

A new method is presented for the determination of bismuth and copper based on cathodic adsorptive stripping of complexes of Cu(II) and Bi(III) with 2′,3,4′,5,7-pentahydroxyflavone (morin) at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). The effect of various parameters such as pH, concentration of morin, accumulation potential and accumulation time on the selectivity and sensitivity were studied. The optimum conditions for determination of copper include nitric acid concentration 0.1 M, morin concentration 0.6 μM and accumulation potential of −300 mV. Those conditions for the determination of bismuth include 0.15 M acid concentration, 0.6 μM morin and accumulation potential of −300 mV. Under these optimum conditions and for an accumulation time of 60 s, the measured peak current at −20 to 25 mV is proportional to the concentration of copper and bismuth over the range of 0.2-130 and 5-50 ng ml−1, respectively. At high concentration of morin (35 μM morin) and accumulation potential of −300 mV (versus Ag/AgCl reference electrode) the peak current is proportional only to the concentration of copper and bismuth has no contribution to the current. At low concentration of morin (0.5 μM morin) and accumulation potential of 100 mV (versus Ag/AgCl reference electrode) the peak current is proportional only to the concentration of bismuth. The method was applied to the determination of copper and bismuth in some real and synthetic samples with satisfactory results. 相似文献

The adsorptive and electrochemical behaviors of medecamycin were investigated on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) pretreated by anodic oxidation at +1.8 V for 5 min in 0.025 mol l–1 NH3-NH4Cl (pH 8.6) solution. An adsorptive stripping voltammetric method for the determination of medecamycin at the pretreated glassy carbon electrode has been developed. Medecamycin was accumulated in NH3-NH4Cl buffer (pH 9.0) at a potential of –0.7 V (vs. saturated calomel electrode (SCE)) for a certain time, and then determined by second-order differential anodic stripping voltammetry. The second-order differential anodic stripping peak current at +0.72 V was proportional to the concentration of medecamycin in the range 2.0 g ml–1 to 50.0 g ml–1. The detection limit (three times the signal-to-noise) was 1.0 g ml–1 and the relative standard deviation of the results was 3.28% for eight successive determinations of 10.0 g ml–1 medecamycin. This method has been applied to the direct determination of medecamycin in commercial tablets and spiked urine samples with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetric measurements of trace vanadium at bismuth film electrodes 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Bismuth-coated glassy carbon electrodes have been successfully applied for catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetric measurements of low levels of vanadium(V) in the presence of chloranilic acid (CAA) and bromate ion. The new protocol is based on the accumulation of the vanadium-chloranilic acid complex from an acetate buffer (pH 5.5) solution at a preplated bismuth film electrode held at −0.35 V (versus Ag/AgCl), followed by a square-wave voltammetric scan. Factors influencing the adsorptive stripping performance, including the CAA and bromate concentrations, solution pH, and accumulation potential or time have been optimized. The response compares favorably with that observed at mercury film electrodes. A linear response is observed over the 5-25 μg/L concentration range (2 min accumulation), along with a detection limit of 0.20 μg/L vanadium (10 min accumulation). High stability is indicated from the reproducible response of a 50 μg/L vanadium solution (n = 25; R.S.D. = 3.1%). Applicability to a groundwater sample is illustrated. 相似文献

This work reports the use of adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV) for the determination of aluminium on a rotating-disc bismuth-film electrode (BiFE). Al(III) ions in the non-deoxygenated sample were complexed with cupferron and the complex was accumulated by adsorption on the surface of the preplated BiFE. The stripping step was carried out by using a square-wave (SW) potential-time voltammetric excitation signal. The experimental variables as well as potential interferences were investigated and the figures of merit of the method were established. Using the selected conditions, the 3σ limit of detection for aluminium was 0.5 μg l−1 at a preconcentration time of 240 s and the relative standard deviation was 4.2% at the 5 μg 1−1 level for a preconcentration time of 120 s (n = 8). The accuracy of the method was established by analysing water and metallurgical samples. 相似文献

Bismuth‐film electrodes on glassy‐carbon substrates have been successfully applied for adsorptive‐stripping voltammetric measurements of trace molybdenum in the presence of chloranilic acid (CAA). The procedure is based on the preconcentration of the molybdenum‐chloranilic acid complex at a preplated bismuth film electrode held at ?0.55 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), followed by a negatively‐sweeping square‐wave voltammetric scan. Factors influencing the adsorptive stripping performance, including different ligands, solution pH, CAA concentration, preconcentration time and potential, have been optimized. The response compares favorably with that observed at mercury film electrodes, and is linear over the 5–50 μg/L Mo concentration range (one min preconcentration). A detection limit of 0.2 μg/L molybdenum is obtained following a 10 min accumulation. High stability is indicated from the reproducible response of a 100 μg/L molybdenum solution (n= 60; RSD=2.6%). Applicability to seawater samples is demonstrated. 相似文献

Reaction of 2-bromo-1,3-bis(bromomethyl)benzene (1) with 1,2,3-triazole and benzotriazole yields 2-bromo-1,3-bis(triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (2) and 2-bromo-1,3-bis(benzotriazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (3), isolated as white solids, air stable at room temperature, and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra, IR, and NMR (1H, 13C) spectroscopy. The molecular structure of 3 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. These ligands were evaluated for determination of ultra-trace concentrations of nickel by adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the Ni(II)-L complex onto a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by reduction of the adsorbed species by voltammetric scan using square wave modulation. However, only with 2 was a signal observed at ?0.81?V. Under the best experimental conditions (pH 5.5; ligand concentration 0.30?μmol?L?1; adsorptive potential (E ads) ?0.70?V and adsorptive time (t ads) 80 s), the peak current is proportional to the Ni(II) concentration to 15.0?μg?L?1, with a 3 detection limit of 0.2?μg?L?1. The proposed method was validated by determining Ni(II) in certified reference waste water (SPS–WW1) with satisfactory results. 相似文献

New insights into the functioning, i.e. electrochemical behaviour and analytical performance, of in situ prepared antimony film electrodes (SbFEs) under square-wave anodic stripping (SW-ASV) and cyclic (CV) voltammetry conditions are presented by studying several key operational parameters using Pb(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) as model analyte ions. Five different carbon- and metal-based substrate transducer electrodes revealed a clear advantage of the former ones while the concentration of the precursor Sb(III) ion exhibited a distinct influence on the ASV functioning of the SbFE. Among six acids examined as potential supporting electrolytes the HNO3 was demonstrated to yield nearly identical results in conducting ASV experiments with SbFE as so far almost exclusively used HCl. This is extremely important as HNO3 is commonly employed acidifying agent in trace metal analysis, especially in elemental mass spectrometry measurements. By carrying out a systematic CV and ASV investigation using a medium exchange protocol, we confirmed the formation of poorly soluble oxidized Sb species at the substrate electrode surface at the end of each stripping step, i.e. at the potentials beyond the anodic dissolution of the antimony film. Hence, the significance of the cleaning and initializing the surface of a substrate electrode after accomplishing a stripping step was thoroughly studied in order to find conditions for a complete removal of the adhered Sb-oxides and thus to assure a memory-free functioning of the in situ prepared SbFE. Finally, the practical analytical application of the proposed ASV method was successfully tested and evaluated by measuring the three metal analytes in ground (tap) and surface (river) water samples acidified with HNO3. Our results approved the appropriateness of the SbFE and the proposed method for measuring low μg L−1 levels of some toxic metals, particularly taking into account the possibility of on-field testing and the use of low cost instrumentation. 相似文献
