The effects of eddy currents on the design value of magnetic field in accelerators are investigated analytically. A program is developed for calculation of magnetic field distortions caused by eddy currents. The numerical results are given for the accelerator in Yerevan Physics Institute, if it will be used to accelerate the ions.  相似文献

A method is described for obtaining the Hamiltonian of a vacuum magnetic field in a given 3D toroidal magnetic surface (superconducting shell). This method is used to derive the expression for the integrable surface Hamiltonian in the form of the expansion of a rotational transform of field lines on embedded near-boundary magnetic surfaces into a Taylor series in the distance from the boundary. This expansion contains the value of the rotational transform and its shear at the boundary surface. It is shown that these quantities are related to the components of the first and second quadratic forms of the boundary surface.  相似文献

This paper investigates the photodetachment of the negative hydrogen ion H near an elastic wall in a magnetic field.The magnetic field confines the perpendicular motion of the electron,which results in a real three-dimensional well for the detached electron.The analytical formulas for the cross section of the photodetachment in the threedimensional quantum well are derived based on both the quantum approach and closed-orbit theory.The magnetic field and the elastic surface lead to two completely different modulations to the cross section of the photodetachment.The oscillation amplitude depends on the strength of the magnetic field,the ion-wall distance and the photon polarization as well.Specially,for the circularly polarized photon-induced photodetachment,the cross sections display a suppressed(E E th) 1/2 threshold law with energy E in the vicinity above Landau energy E th,contrasting with the(E E th) 1/2 threshold law in the presence of only the magnetic field.The semiclassical calculation fits the quantum result quite well,although there are still small deviations.The difference is attributed to the failure of semiclassical mechanics.  相似文献

We study the anisotropic square lattice Ising antiferromagnet in terms of three parameters: an external magnetic field B, an effective temperature and an anisotropy parameterK. The model, i.e., partition function and free energy, is solved exactly in the anisotropic limit,K0, for arbitrary temperature and field by using the transfer matrix method. We also calculate the first corrections beyond this limit. The limit is non trivial and the phase transition is completely preserved. It is of the expected Ising type. The transition temperature c (B, K) is determined exactly for bothK0 andK and the results are used to check the validity of a recently conjectured formula by Müller-Hartmann and the author.  相似文献

The behaviour of the two-dimensional quantum antiferromagnet of arbitrary spin in a strong transversal magnetic field on a square lattice is studied in terms of the equivalent Bose gas problem. The existence of phase transition from the state characterized by “quasi-long-range” magnetic order to the disordered ferromagnetic state is demonstrated. The expressions for correlation functions, thermodynamical and magnetic characteristics are derived.  相似文献

Nearest-neighbor spin correlations are considered near the surface of a semi-infinite spin- Heisenberg antiferromagnet on a simple cubic lattice. In the spin-wave approximation, the excitation spectrum of this model involves bulk modes – standing spin waves and a quasi-two-dimensional mode of surface spin waves. These latter excitations eject the bulk excitations from the surface region thus dividing the antiferromagnet into two parts with different excitations. As a result absolute values of the spin correlations near the surface exceed the bulk value. In the surface region, the pattern of spin correlations resembles the comb structure recently obtained for the two-dimensional case.  相似文献

A system of two nonlinear differential equations for sublattice angles is proposed to describe the spin orientation distribution in a planar antiferromagnet with uniform antisymmetric exchange in a magnetic field. This system involves the initial symmetry of the problem and is reduced to a single delay differential equation. The solutions of this system are parameterized by the initial condition imposed on the angle of one sublattice at the hyperbolic singular point of the phase space. The numerical analysis of the stability boundary of soliton solutions demonstrates that the transition to the commensurate phase takes place outside the region where the stochastic solutions appear and is accompanied by the magnetization jump Δm ∼ 10−1 m.  相似文献

We report bulk magnetization, and elastic and inelastic neutron scattering measurements under an external magnetic field H on the weakly coupled distorted kagome system, Cu2(OD)3Cl. Our results show that the ordered state below 6.7 K is a canted antiferromagnet and consists of large antiferromagnetic ac components and smaller ferromagnetic b components. By first-principles calculations and linear spin wave analysis, we present a simple spin Hamiltonian with nonuniform nearest neighbor exchange interactions resulting in a system of coupled spin trimers with a single-ion anisotropy that can qualitatively reproduce the spin dynamics of Cu2(OD)3Cl.  相似文献

Structural distortions in nonpolar crystals, in particular, in semiconductor silicon caused by a permanent electric field have been revealed by means of X-ray interferometry. It is shown that the field changes the frequency (period) and direction of moiré fringes and at the voltage exceeding 1.5 kV the moiré patterns disappear. Moiré pattern obtained under action of the electrostatic field does not depend on the direction (polarity) of the field and is completely the same for both polarities.  相似文献

In this paper we study the dynamics of the two-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet in an external magnetic field at zero temperature, using the memory function formalism. The imaginary part of the memory function, which is related to the damping, shows a one peak structure. The dynamical structure factor shows a smooth peak well defined separated from another very small peak.  相似文献

The behavior of a two-level induced moment antiferromagnet in an external magnetic field is investigated in the molecular field approximation. A significant reduction in the critical field and in the sublattice magnetizations is shown. However, the total magnetization rises more rapidly with field and can remain at large value in an external field even at T = 0. The magnetic susceptibility also remains finite at T = 0 in contrast to the case of a permanent moment Ising antiferromagnet. The effects of a ferromagnetic next-nearest neighbor interaction are then examined. It is shown that, in contrast to the usual Ising antiferromagnets, the ferromagnetic coupling has to exceed a certain value depending on the crystal field strength and the antiferromagnetic interaction, to allow for a first order phase transition in a field to occur even at zero temperature.  相似文献

利用闭合轨道理论, 研究了变化的磁场和不同电介质表面对氢负离子光剥离截面的影响, 并推导出了该体系下的光剥离截面公式. 结果发现, 氢负离子的光剥离截面不仅与磁场的强度有关, 而且还与电介质常数有关. 当氢负离子到电介质表面的距离和电介质常数一定时, 体系的光剥离截面中的振荡随磁场的变化而明显变化. 随着磁场强度的 增大, 体系的闭合轨道数目增多, 光剥离截面的振荡越来越复杂. 当氢负离子到电介质表面的距离和磁场强度一定时, 电介质常数的变化对光剥离截面的影响也很重要, 随着电介质常数的增大, 体系的闭合轨道数目增多, 光剥离截面的振荡也变得越来越复杂. 因此, 可以通过改变磁场强度和电解质常数来调整负离子的光剥离截面. 此结果 对于研究负离子体系在表面附近和外场中的光剥离问题具有一定的参考价值.  相似文献

Magnetic-structure distortions induced by an external magnetic field near a rough surface of a uniaxial collinear antiferromagnet are analyzed using mathematical modeling. The “magnetic field-roughness” phase diagram of these distortions is constructed. It is demonstrated that, under specific conditions, the presence of atomic steps leads to the formation of domains in the surface layer of the antiferromagnet. In the case of a strong roughness, there arise static vortices at the surface and a 90° domain wall aligned parallel to the surface of the antiferromagnet.  相似文献

The electron-positron pair production by an electron in a strong magnetic field near the process threshold is considered. The process is shown to be more probable if the spin of the initial electron is oriented along the field. Necessary conditions are determined under which elastic surface shear waves can exist in a crystal with magnetic long-range order, even if no account is taken of the magnetic dipole-dipole interaction, in both the case of the mechanically free surface of the crystal and the case of an acoustically continuous interface between the magnetic crystal and a nonmagnetic medium.  相似文献

The magnetic phase diagram of a geometrically frustrated triangular-lattice antiferromagnet is evaluated as a function of magnetic field and anisotropy using a trial spin state built from harmonics of a fundamental ordering wave vector. A noncollinear incommensurate state, observed to be chiral and ferroelectric in CuFeO2, appears above a collinear state with 4 sublattices (SLs). The apparent absence of multiferroic behavior for predicted chiral, noncollinear 5-SL states poses a challenge to theories of the ferroelectric coupling in CuFeO2.  相似文献
