Time-dependent mixing is studied using about two million hadronic Z decays registered by L3 in 1994 and 1995. For this study three techniques are used. Tagging of the b-quark charge at decay time is performed by identifying leptons from semileptonic B decays. The flavour of the b quark at production time is determined from the charge of the lepton in the opposite hemisphere or by using a jet-charge technique. The proper time of the B-particle decay is obtained by reconstructing the production and decay vertices or by a measurement of the lepton impact parameter. We explore the relevance of extending the concept of the partonic structure to the longitudinally polarized virtual photon involved in hard collisions. We show that for moderate photon virtualities and in the kinematical region accessible in current experiments at HERA and LEP, the contributions of its longitudinal polarization to hard collisions are sizable and should be taken into account as part of the resolved photon component. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive H\mathcal H_\infty synchronization strategy, called an adaptive fuzzy delayed feedback H\mathcal H_\infty synchronization (AFDFHS) strategy, for chaotic systems with uncertain parameters and external disturbances. Based on Lyapunov–Krasovskii theory, Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy model and adaptive delayed feedback H\mathcal H_\infty control scheme, the AFDFHS controller is presented such that the synchronization error system is asymptotically stable with a guaranteed H\mathcal{H}_{\infty } performance. It is shown that the design of the AFDFHS controller with adaptive law can be achieved by solving a linear matrix inequality (LMI), which can be easily facilitated by using some standard numerical packages. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed AFDFHS approach.  相似文献

The ${\bar{\rm P}}{\rm ANDA}$ experiment represents the central part of the hadron physics branch of the antiproton program of the new Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) at Darmstadt/Germany. It will investigate antiproton annihilations with an almost 4?? acceptance from two sequent spectrometer in the momentum range from 1.5?to 15?GeV/c. The gluon rich reaction product of antiproton-proton and antiproton-nucleus collisions on one hand and the high intensity and phase space cooled antiproton beam of the HESR on the other hand constitutes an ideal environment to study the sector of non-conventional hadronic states.  相似文献

Hyperfine induced $1s2s\ ^1$ S $_0 \rightarrow 1s^2\ ^1$ S0 M1 transition probabilities of He-like ions have been calculated from relativistic configuration interaction wavefunctions including the frequency independent Breit interaction and QED effects. Present results for 151Eu and 155Gd are in good agreement with previous calculations [L.N. Labzowsky et al., Phys. Rev. A 63, 054105 (2001)]. Electronic data are given in terms of a general scaling law in Z that, given isotopic nuclear spin and magnetic moment, allows hyperfine induced decay rates to be estimated for any isotope. The results should be helpful for future experimental investigations on QED and parity non-conservation effects.  相似文献

Intensity ratios ofμ-mesonic x-rays in some heavy elements are discussed. Intensity ratios of the \(K_{\alpha _1 } /K_{\alpha _2 } \) and \(L_{\alpha _1 } /L_{\beta _2 } \) lines have been calculated for206Pb,209Bi and238U with relativistic wavefunctions and retardation effect. Though for a refined calculation, it is necessary to take into consideration several features that are peculiar to mesonic atoms, the present calculations have shown that the observed intensity ratios of mesonic x-rays are not anomalous.  相似文献

Bose-Einstein correlations between like-sign charged-particle pairs in events recorded with the OPAL detector at LEP at centre-of-mass energies between 183 GeV and 209 GeV are studied. Recently proposed methods which allow direct searches for correlations in the data via distributions of test variables are used to investigate the presence of correlations between hadrons originating from different W bosons in events. Within the statistics of the data sample no evidence for inter-WW Bose-Einstein correlations is obtained. In the framework of the dipole picture of the BFKL pomeron we discuss two possibilities of calculating the total cross section of the virtual photons. It is shown that the dipole model reproduces the results obtained earlier from -factorization up to the selection of the scale determining the length of the QCD cascade. We introduce ‘braidability’ as a new symmetry for infinite sequences of noncommutative random variables related to representations of the braid group \({\mathbb{B}_{\infty}}\) . It provides an extension of exchangeability which is tied to the symmetric group \({\mathbb{S}_{\infty}}\) . Our key result is that braidability implies spreadability and thus conditional independence, according to the noncommutative extended de Finetti theorem [Kös08]. This endows the braid groups \({\mathbb{B}_{n}}\) with a new intrinsic (quantum) probabilistic interpretation. We underline this interpretation by a braided extension of the Hewitt-Savage Zero-One Law. Furthermore we use the concept of product representations of endomorphisms [Goh04] with respect to certain Galois type towers of fixed point algebras to show that braidability produces triangular towers of commuting squares and noncommutative Bernoulli shifts. As a specific case we study the left regular representation of \({\mathbb{B}_{\infty}}\) and the irreducible subfactor with infinite Jones index in the non-hyperfinite I I 1-factor L \({(\mathbb{B}_{\infty})}\) related to it. Our investigations reveal a new presentation of the braid group \({\mathbb{B}_{\infty}}\) , the ‘square root of free generator presentation’ \({\mathbb{F}^{1/2}_{\infty}}\) . These new generators give rise to braidability while the squares of them yield a free family. Hence our results provide another facet of the strong connection between subfactors and free probability theory [GJS07]; and we speculate about braidability as an extension of (amalgamated) freeness on the combinatorial level.  相似文献

We present a search for physics beyond the Standard Model in proton?Cproton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = {7}\;{\rm{TeV}}$ , performed with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). No evidence for new physics is found in dijet mass and angular distributions and stringent limits are set on a variety of models of new physics, including excited quarks, quark contact interactions, axigluons, and quantum black holes.  相似文献

The BES Collaboration measurements of J/ψ radiative decays into $ p{\bar p}$ indicate a strong enhancement at $ p {\bar p}$ threshold. In a related experiment a peak in the invariant π ?+? π ???η′ mass is observed. It is shown that both structures may be related to a broad $ N{\bar N}$ quasi-bound state in the $^{11}S_{0} $ wave. The existence of this state finds additional support from the antiprotonic atom level widths. It is also explained by a traditional model of $ N \bar{N} $ interactions based on G-parity transformation. The level widths in H, D and He antiprotonic atoms and the radiochemical studies of $ {\bar p}$ capture in nuclei indicate the existence of another near-threshold quasi-bound state in a P wave.  相似文献

Thermal diffusivities of pure YVO4 single crystal and single crystals doped with Nd, Tm and Ca ions are measured using a modified ?ngstr?m's method. Measurements were carried out for main crystallographic directions ([100], [010] and [001]). Obtained results show that the thermal diffusivity in [001] direction is considerably higher than in (001) plane. Decrease of the thermal diffusivity is observed with growing concentration of dopants. For the heavier doped sample (5% at. of Tm + 0.4% at. of Ca) a drop of the thermal diffusivity is about 35%.  相似文献
