Modulation instability of continuous plane waves of the pump beams and the second harmonic that are described by the set of equations for the process of second-harmonic generation with allowance made for the dispersion of nonlinear susceptibility is considered. The case of type I phase matching is analyzed. In the regions of anomalous and normal group velocity dispersion, the instability increments are determined as functions of the frequency and the wave numbers of perturbations. It was found that the difference in the group velocities of the interacting waves exerts the most substantial effect on the evolution of the modulation instability. 相似文献

We predict that two electron beams can develop an instability when passing through a slab of left-handed media (LHM). This instability, which is inherent only for LHM, originates from the backward Cherenkov radiation and results in a self-modulation of the beams and radiation of electromagnetic waves. These waves leave the sample via the rear surface of the slab (the beam injection plane) and form two shifted bright circles centered at the beams. A simulated spectrum of radiation has well-separated lines on top of a broad continuous spectrum, which indicates dynamical chaos in the system. The radiation intensity and its spectrum can be controlled either by the beams' current or by the distance between the two beams. 相似文献

In this paper, the propagation properties of partially coherent flat-topped (PCFT) laser beams in multi-beam FSO communication links are analyzed. Analytical expressions for the average intensity and beam width of PCFT multi beams are derived based on extended Huygens–Fresnel principle by considering the effects of turbulent atmosphere. Also power in bucket (PIB) is calculated numerically based on analytical expression of average intensity. It is revealed that PCFT multi beams can be converted into a Gaussian beam after sufficiently large propagation distance. It is found that correlation length, order of flatness and beams’ separation distances in the source plane have strong effects on minimum distance required for this conversion as well as beam width and PIB. Obtained results are confirmed and illustrated with numerical examples and resulted graphs. 相似文献

无衍射光束球散射性质的研究目前一般采用贝塞尔光束,但是贝塞尔光束在物理上是不可实现的。贝塞尔高斯光束作为近似无衍射光束,是亥姆霍兹方程在傍轴条件下的解,并且可以用激光振荡器直接产生,但其光束宽是有限的。应用傅里叶变换,平面波谱展开和球面矢量波函数展开法,推导了非偏振贝塞尔高斯光束的球散射远场的无量纲散射函数。通过数值模拟,对非偏振的贝塞尔高斯光束与贝塞尔光束,高斯光束的球散射远场进行了比较,比较发现:当球散射体偏离光轴时,非偏振贝塞尔高斯光束跟贝塞尔光束散射远场的差异主要是散射强度的差异,但是散射极点所在的方向基本保持不变;贝塞尔高斯光束和贝塞尔光束的散射在光束圆锥角方向上比较显著,但高斯光束的前向散射比较显著。 相似文献

The dynamical evolution of both signal and pump beams are traced
by numerically solving the coupled-wave equation for a
photorefractive two-wave mixing system. The direct simulations
show that, when the intensity ratio of the pump beam to the
signal beam is large enough, the pump beam presents a common
decaying behaviour without modulational instability (MI), while
the signal beam can evolve into a quasistable spatial soliton
within a regime in which the pump beam is depleted slightly. The
larger the ratio is, the longer the regime is. Such quasistable
solitons can overcome the initial perturbations and numerical
noises in the course of propagation, perform several cycles of
slow oscillation in intensity and width, and persist over tens
of diffraction lengths. From physical viewpoints, these solitons
actually exist as completely rigorous physical objects. If the
ratio is quite small, the pump beam is apt to show MI, during
which the signal beam experiences strong expansion and shrinking
in width and a drastic oscillation in intensity, or completely
breaks up. The simulations using actual experimental parameters
demonstrate that the observation of an effectively stable
soliton is quite possible in the proposed system. 相似文献

对平顶光束通过像散透镜的传输和光束参量(包括束宽、束腰宽度和位置、远场发散角和M2因子)的变化做了研究.结果表明,像散使平顶光束在x方向的束腰宽度增加,远场发散角减小,实际焦点的位置远离透镜,而在y方向正相反.平顶光束的M2因子与像散无关.x、y方向束宽和远场发散角的相对误差随光束阶数,瑞利长度,像散系数和透镜焦距变化.当x、y方向的光束阶数和初始束宽相等时,几何焦面上两方向束宽的相对误差相等,但在实际焦面上不同. 相似文献

In a biased photorefractive crystal, the process of two
one-dimensional waves mixing, i.e., the dynamical evolution of
both pump beam and signal beam, is traced by numerically solving the
coupled-wave equation. Direct simulations show that the
propagation and stability of the two beams are completely determined
by the system parameters, such as the external bias field, the
intensity and the beam waist of the pump beam. By adjusting these
parameters, one can control the state of two Gaussian waves mixing.
The numerical results are helpful for performing a two-wave mixing

为实现高功率激光二极管堆栈光束的匀化与整形,提出基于双柱透镜慢轴准直的匀化系统。利用双柱透镜实现对高填充因子激光二极管慢轴方向光束发散角度的压缩,降低成像型多孔径光束积分器中微透镜的数值孔径,减小匀化系统体积。通过三个限定条件确定了双柱透镜参数取值范围,并通过像差分析对双柱透镜进行了优化,实现慢轴方向光束剩余发散角度1.74。结合成像型多孔径光束积分器,设计了激光二极管堆栈的匀化系统,并进行了实验测试。实验结果表明,在中心光斑尺寸约为6 mm6 mm范围内,光斑不均匀性为8.11%。 相似文献

The dynamic properties of cos-Gaussian beams in the presence of Kerr nonlinearity are investigated analytically and numerically using the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS). Based on the moments method, evolution of a cos-Gaussian beam width in the root-mean-square (RMS) sense is obtained analytically. The beam propagation factors and the critical powers of the cos-Gaussian beams with a uniform wavefront are calculated. Using numerical simulation, it is found that although the RMS beam width broadens, the central parts of the beam give rise to an initial radial compression and a significant redistribution during propagation. The partial collapse of central parts of the beam is observed below the threshold for a global collapse. The cos-Gaussian beams eventually convert into cosh-Gaussian type beams in Kerr media with low initial power. 相似文献

利用Wigner分布函数(WDF)方法,对光束的分数傅里叶变换特性进行了研究.以厄米 高斯(H G)光束为例,导出了H G光束在分数傅里叶变换面上光强分布的解析公式和H G光束在分数傅里叶变换面上束宽的解析计算公式.通过数值计算研究了H G光束光强随分数傅里叶变换阶数变化的规律.研究表明:选取适当的分数傅里叶变换阶数p,在x,y方向可以得到相等束宽的对称光强分布.

Bragg diffraction of light by rectangular phase gratings is considered, utilizing two-dimensional coupled-wave theory. Diffraction characteristics for two important cases of incident plane waves and Gaussian-profile beams are presented. It is shown that the diffraction properties depend on the following normalized parameters: the grating strength and a geometry parameter, the beam width and a displacement. Values of these parameters for the realization of both nearly transmitting and nearly reflecting regimes of diffraction are determined. The results obtained are used for the choice of the design parameters of integrated optic Bragg-type devices. 相似文献

The method of calculation of intense helical electron beams which allows to find the distribution function of electrons with respect to their transverse (oscillatory) and longitudinal velocities is developed. The initial velocity distribution function can be arbitrary. The data obtained in numerical simulation and experimental measurements for beams with various topologies are compared. The evolution of the transverse velocity distribution function with the beam current growth is traced. It is found that the transformation of the velocity distribution function may indicate a possible instability in a real beam. 相似文献

We investigate the modulation instability of plane waves and the transverse instabilities of soliton stripe beams propagating in nonlinear nanosuspensions. We show that in these systems the process of modulational instability depends on the input beam conditions. On the other hand, the transverse instability of soliton stripes can exhibit new features as a result of 1D collapse caused by the exponential nonlinearity. 相似文献

The excitation of eigen surface waves by tubular electron beams in cylindrical discharge devices is studied. The influence of the wave‐field azimuthal structure on the excitation efficiency and nonlinear stage of the plasmabeam instability is investigated both numerically and analytically. Analytical expressions for the saturation amplitude and excitation efficiency of the wave under study are derived.
