The effect of residual oxygen impurity on ionization processes of Si+ and Si2+ has been studied quantitatively. In this study, ion sputtering experiments were carried out for a Si(1 1 1)-7 × 7 surface, irradiated with 9-11 keV Ar0 and Kr0 beam. Even if the oxygen concentration is less than the detection limit of Auger electron spectrometry, SiO+ and SiO2+ ions have been appreciably observed. Moreover, as the SiO+ and SiO2+ yields increases, the Si+ yield is slightly enhanced, whereas the Si2+ yield is significantly reduced. From the incidence angle dependence of secondary ion yields, it is confirmed that Si+* (Si+ with a 2p hole) created in the shallow region from the surface exclusively contributes to Si2+ formation. By assuming that the SiO+ and SiO2+ yields are proportional to the residual oxygen concentration, these observations are reasonably explained: The increase of Si+ with the increase of residual oxygen is caused by a similar effect commonly observed for oxidized surfaces. The decrease of Si2+ yield can be explained by the inter-atomic Auger transition between the residual oxygen impurity and Si+*, which efficiently interferes the Si2+ formation process.  相似文献

We report experimentally the measured rate coefficients for the energy pooling (EP) collisions process Cs(5D) +Cs(5D) → Cs(6S)+Cs(nL = 9D, 11S, 7F) in cesium densities of 1016 -1017 cm-3 . The 5D state was populated via 8S → 7P → 5D spontaneous emission following two-step pumping 6S → 6P3/2 → 8S.Since the 5D → 6P (3.0-3.6 μm) fluorescence could not be detected in this experiment, we carried out a relative measurement for the process 6P + 5D → 6S + 7D.  相似文献

Zinc oxide nanopencil arrays were synthesized on pyramidal Si(1 0 0) substrates via a simple thermal evaporation method. Their field emission properties have been investigated: the turn-on electric field (at the current density of 10 μA/cm2) was about 3.8 V/μm, and the threshold electric field (at the current density of 1 mA/cm2) was 5.8 V/μm. Compared with similar structures grown on flat Si substrates, which were made as references, the pyramidal Si-based ZnO nanopencil arrays appeared to be superior in field emission performance, thus the importance of the non-flat substrates has been accentuated. The pyramidal Si substrates could not only suppress the field screening effect but also improve the field enhancement effect during the field emission process. These findings indicated that using non-flat substrates is an efficient strategy to improve the field emission properties.  相似文献

The early stages of the Cr/6H-SiC(0 0 0 1) interface formation at room temperature were investigated using XPS, LEED and work function (WF) measurements. Upon stepwise Cr evaporation in UHV up to a thickness of 5-10 monolayers (ML) at RT, the binding energy of the XPS Cr 2p3/2 core level peak shifted from 576.1 eV, at submonolayer coverage, to 574.7 eV (corresponding to metallic Cr) for the final Cr deposit, while the binding energies of the substrate XPS core level peaks remained stable. The WF exhibited a steep decrease of about 0.5 eV from the initial SiC substrate value, upon submonolayer coverage, but then increased gradually to saturation at a value of about 4.8 eV (polycrystalline Cr film with some chemisorbed oxygen). The growth of the ultrathin film was via 3D-cluster formation. The height of the Schottky barrier for the Cr/6H-SiC(0 0 0 1) contact was found by XPS to be 0.5 ± 0.1 eV. The results, generally, indicate the absence of any extended interfacial silicide-like interaction at RT.  相似文献

We present results of theoretical studies of the non-resonant excitation transfer in Rb(7S) + Rb(5S) and Rb(5D) + Rb(5S) collisions at thermal collision energies. Rb2 adiabatic molecular terms correlating with the 5S+7S, 5S+5D and 5P+5P states of separated atoms were calculated for internuclear distances R > 20 a.u. using asymptotic approximation. Mechanisms of collisional population and quenching of the 5D state were treated on the basis of the computed molecular terms, and the respective cross-sections were calculated. Theoretical cross-sections are in good agreement with the experimental values at thermal collision energies ( K). Received 13 November 1998 and Received in final form 22 November 1999  相似文献

The angle resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements were used to monitor a level of contamination of the InP:S (1 0 0) substrates during the cleaning processes with deionized water and isopropanol. Some contaminations with carbon and oxygen were found for a broken under ultrahigh vacuum InP:S substrate, indicating the contamination of the crystal during the growth process. The substrates after cleaning with deionized water and isopropanol were contaminated with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and silicon. Concentration of carbon decreases inwards the substrates while concentration of oxygen is enhanced even in the deeper layers for both processes. The nitrogen concentration is higher for the samples rinsed with water. Roughness of the surfaces is higher for the samples rinsed with water what indicated the AFM measurements.  相似文献

We have studied the initial stages of adsorption of C60 on the Pt (1 1 0)-(1 × 2) surface by means of STM. At room temperature, fullerene molecules adsorb in the troughs between two adjacent Pt rows of the missing row reconstruction. Mobility over the terraces is negligible, denoting strong bonding with the surface, also testified by a well-defined orientation of fullerene monomers with respect to the substrate. Upon annealing at 750 K, molecular migration towards kinks and step edges occurs, where small islands nucleation begins. A commensurate registry with the substrate is maintained by small (5-10 molecules) C60 aggregates, leading to expanded nearest-neighbour distances with respect to those found in hexagonal close packed fullerene ad-islands grown on other metallic substrates.  相似文献

We observed four kinds of adsorbed NO molecules on Pt(9 9 7) at 11 K using infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRAS). The peaks at 1690, 1484 and 1615 cm−1 are assigned to the N-O stretching modes of the on-top site and the hollow site on the terrace and the bridge site at the step, respectively. The 1385 cm−1 peak is observed below ∼70 K. We assign the 1385 cm−1 peak to the hollow site of the (1 1 1) microfacet at the step or the lower-terrace hollow site nearest to the step. By heating, site-to-site hopping to the more stable site occurs and the relative stability of four adsorption sites can be determined.  相似文献

The underlying gauge group structure of the D = 11 Cremmer-Julia-Scherk supergravity becomes manifest when its three-form field A3 is expressed through a set of one-form gauge fields, , , η1α, and Ea, ψα. These are associated with the generators of the elements of a family of enlarged supersymmetry algebras parametrized by a real number s. We study in detail the composite structure of A3 extending previous results by D’Auria and Fré, stress the equivalence of the above problem to the trivialization of a standard supersymmetry algebra E(11|32) cohomology four-cocycle on the enlarged superalgebras, and discuss its possible dynamical consequences. To this aim we consider the properties of the first order supergravity action with a composite A3 field and find the set of extra gauge symmetries that guarantee that the field theoretical degrees of freedom of the theory remain the same as with a fundamental A3. The extra gauge symmetries are also present in the so-called rheonomic treatment of the first order D = 11 supergravity action when A3 is composite. Our considerations on the composite structure of A3 provide one more application of the idea that there exists an extended superspace coordinates/fields correspondence. They also suggest that there is a possible embedding of D = 11 supergravity into a theory defined on the enlarged superspace .  相似文献

By using a pump-probe technique, the nascent rotational and vibrational state distributions of CsH are obtained in the Cs(6^2 D,7^2 D) plus H2 reaction. The nascent CsH molecules are found to populate the lowest two vibrational (v″ = 0 and 1) levels of the ground electronic state. By comparing the spectral intensities of the CsH action spectra with those of pertinent Cs atomic fluorescence excitation spectra, the relative reactivity with 1-12 is in an order of6^2D3/2 〉 6^2D5/2 〉 7^2D3/2 〉 7^2D5/2. The rotational temperatures are found to be slightly below the cell temperature. The relative fractions (〈fV〉, 〈fR〉, 〈fT〉) of average energy disposal are derived as (0.2,0.12,0.68), (0.2,0.12,0.68), (0.07,0.04,0.89) and (0.07,0.04,0.89) for the 6^2D3/2, 6^2D5/2, 7^2D3/2 and 7^2D5/2, respectively. The major available energy is released as translation. These results support that the reaction mechanism of Cs(6^2 D,7^2 D) plus 112 is primarily a eollinear abstraction and not an insertion.  相似文献

In H2 and H2/CO oxidation, the H + O2 + M termination step is one of the most important reactions at elevated pressures. With the recent, increased interest in synthetic fuels, an accurate assessment of its rate coefficient becomes increasingly important, especially for real fuel/air mixtures. Ignition delay times in shock-tube experiments at the conditions selected in this study are only sensitive to the rates of the title reaction and the branching reaction H + O2 = OH + O, the rate of which is known to a high level of accuracy. The rate coefficient of the title reaction for M = N2, Ar, and H2O was determined by adjusting its value in a detailed chemical kinetics model to match ignition delay times for H2/CO/O2/N2, H2/CO/O2/Ar, and H2/CO/O2/N2/H2O mixtures with fuel/air equivalence ratios of ? = 0.5, 0.9, and 1.0. The rate of H + O2 + N2 = HO2 + N2 was measured to be 2.7 (−0.7/+0.8) × 1015 cm6/mol2 s for T = 916-1265 K and P = 1-17 atm. The present determination agrees well with the recent study of Bates et al. [R.W. Bates, D.M. Golden, R.K. Hanson, C.T. Bowman, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 3 (2001) 2337-2342], whose rate expressions are suggested herein for modeling the falloff regime. The rate of H + O2 + Ar = HO2 + Ar was measured to be 1.9 × 1015 cm6/mol2 s for T = 932-965 K and P = 1.4 atm. The rate of H + O2 + H2O = HO2 + H2O was measured to be 3.3 × 1016 cm6/mol2 s for T = 1071-1161 K and P = 1.3 atm. These are the first experimental measurements of the rates of the title reactions in practical combustion fuel/air mixtures.  相似文献

The structural and magnetic properties of 3-nm-thick CoPt alloys grown on WSe2(0 0 0 1) at various temperature are investigated. Deposition at room temperature leads to the formation of a chemically disordered fcc CoPt alloy with [1 1 1] orientation. Growth at elevated temperatures induces L10 chemical order starting at 470 K accompanied with an increase in grain size and a change in grain morphology. As a consequence of the [1 1 1] growth direction, the CoPt grains can adopt one of the three possible variants of the L10 phase with tetragonal c-axis tilted from the normal to the film plane direction at 54°. The average long-range order parameter is found to be 0.35(±0.05) and does not change with the increase in the deposition temperature from 570 to 730 K. This behavior might be related to Se segregation towards the growing facets and surface disorder effects promoted by a high surface-to-volume ratio. Magnetic studies reveal a superparamagnetic behavior for the films grown at 570 and 730 K in agreement with the film morphology and degree of chemical order. The measurements at 10 K reveal the orientation of the easy axis of the magnetization lying basically in the film plane.  相似文献

The densities ρ, viscosities η, and refractive indices nD of binary mixtures of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with acetophenone, cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone, and 3-pentanone have been measured over the entire range of composition at the temperatures 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K and at atmospheric pressure. The density values were used to calculate excess molar volumes VE, and other excess functions of interest such as deviations in viscosity Δη, excess Gibb's free energies of activation of viscous flow ΔGE and deviations in molar refraction ΔR. The measured viscosities were compared with those predicted using the Grunberg-Nissan, Eyring-Margules, Soliman-Marshall, and McAllister four body models. Furthermore the refractive indices data have been correlated using Lorentz-Lorentz, Weiner, Newton, Gladstone-Dale, Eykman, and Eyring-John equations and a satisfactory agreement was found for all the binary systems studied in the present work.  相似文献

We deposited 0.01-0.16 ML (monolayer) of potassium on stepped (7 5 5) [=6(1 1 1) × (1 0 0)] surface of nickel in order to fabricate and to understand the growth process of one-dimensional (1D) potassium atomic-chain structure by observing the low-energy-electron-diffraction (LEED) patterns. The LEED patterns from potassium adsorbates exhibit a distinct coverage dependence that 1× streaks first appeared at low coverages up to 0.04 ML and later 2× streaks appeared at around 0.09 ML. The streaks become spotty at the higher coverage. We explained these coverage-dependent changes in LEED patterns in a thorough comparison with kinematically calculated LEED patterns constructing a reasonable growth model.  相似文献

High temperature scanning tunneling microscope (HT-STM) was used to investigate a reconstructed Au(1 1 1) film evaporated on mica. The experiment was carried out at elevated temperatures in the range of 300-500 K. A herringbone reconstruction was observed at a wide range of temperatures. However, at the highest temperatures studied a break down of the reconstruction long range order was noticed. Finally, the presence of a triangular-like reconstruction was reported. Changes in the reconstruction were explained in terms of the change in surface stress arising as a result of the tension at the gold-mica interface.  相似文献

A particle system with a (2 + 1)D exotic Newton-Hooke symmetry is constructed by the method of nonlinear realization. It has three essentially different phases depending on the values of the two central charges. The subcritical and supercritical phases (describing 2D isotropic ordinary and exotic oscillators) are separated by the critical phase (one-mode oscillator), and are related by a duality transformation. In the flat limit, the system transforms into a free Galilean exotic particle on the noncommutative plane. The wave equations carrying projective representations of the exotic Newton-Hooke symmetry are constructed.  相似文献

Using first-principles density functional calculations, the effect of high pressures, up to 40 GPa, on the structural and elastic properties of ANCa3, with A = P, As, Sb, and Bi, were studied by means of the pseudo-potential plane-waves method. Calculations were performed within the local density approximation and the generalized gradient approximation for exchange-correlation effects. The lattice constants are in good agreement with the available results. The elastic constants and their pressure dependence are calculated using the static finite strain technique. We derived the bulk and shear moduli, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio and Lamé's constants for ideal polycrystalline ANCa3 aggregates. By analysing the ratio between the bulk and shear moduli, we conclude that ANCa3 compounds are brittle in nature. We estimated the Debye temperature of ANCa3 from the average sound velocity. This is the first quantitative theoretical prediction of the elastic properties of PNCa3, AsNCa3, SbNCa3, and BiNCa3 compounds, and it still awaits experimental confirmation.  相似文献

The atomic structure and charge transfer on the Ge (1 0 5) surface formed on Si substrates are studied using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM and STS). The bias-dependent STM images of the whole Ge (1 0 5) facets formed on a Ge “hut” structure on Si (0 0 1) are observed, which are well explained by the recently confirmed structure model. The local surface density of states on the Ge (1 0 5) surface is measured by STS. The localization of the electronic states expected from charge transfer mechanism is observed in the dI/dV spectra. The surface band gap is estimated as 0.8-0.9 eV, which is even wider than the bulk bandgap of Ge, indicating the strong charge transfer effect to make the dangling bonds stable. The shape of normalized tunnel conductance agrees with the theoretical band structure published recently by Hashimoto et al.  相似文献

Crystalline magnesium oxide (MgO) (1 1 1), 20 Å thick, was grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) on hydrogen cleaned hexagonal silicon carbide (6H-SiC). The films were further heated to 740 °C and 650 °C under different oxygen environments in order to simulate processing conditions for subsequent functional oxide growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and stability of crystalline MgO films and the MgO/6H-SiC interface for subsequent heteroepitaxial deposition of multi-component, functional oxides by MBE or pulsed laser deposition processes. The stability of the MgO films and the MgO/6H-SiC interface was found to be dependent on substrate temperature and the presence of atomic oxygen. The MgO films and the MgO/6H-SiC interface are stable at temperatures up to 740 °C at 1.0 × 10−9 Torr for extended periods of time. While at temperatures below 400 °C exposure to the presence of active oxygen for extended periods of time has negligible impact, exposure to the presence of active oxygen for more than 5 min at 650 °C will degrade the MgO/6H-SiC interface. Concurrent etching and interface breakdown mechanisms are hypothesized to explain the observed effects. Further, barium titanate was deposited by MBE on bare 6H-SiC(0 0 0 1) and MgO(1 1 1)/6H-SiC(0 0 0 1) in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the MgO as a heteroepitaxial template layer for perovskite ferroelectrics.  相似文献
