Preparation and Characterization of Heteropoly-complex K_11[La(GaW_11O_39H_2)_2]· xH_2O

Heteropoly complexes K11[Ln(CaW 11O39H2)21 · x H2O(Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy ) have been prepared and analysed. Some properties such as thermal behavior, IK and UV spectra, X-ray powder diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and X-ray photoelectron spectrum have been investigated.

The redox properties of K17[Ln(As2W17O61)2](Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Tm or Yb) in solution were investigated using polarographic and cyclic voltammographic methods. Experimental results indicate that the heteropolyanions underwent three-step-two-electron-tungsten-reduction processes, and each reduction process was accompanied by adding two protons.

CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF K_7H_6[Nd(GeMo_(11)O_(39))_2]·27H_2O

Studies on the Synthesis and Properties of K_8[TiP_2W_17O_62]·12H_2O

The present paper covers a salt of 2:18 heteropoly complex of tungstotitanophosphate prepared with the method of improved sequence preparation. The title compound was characterized by elemental analysis, 31P NMR spectra, polarography, cyclic voltammetry, IR, UV, X-ray powder diffraction , X-ray photoelectron spectra and TG-DTA analysis. The results show that the complex with the formula K8[TiP2W17O62]·12H2O has Dawson structure. Its properties such as spectra, redox behavior and thermal stability are discussed.

Hydrothermal Syntheses, Crystal Structure and Thermal Behavior of [(CH_3)_2NH_2]_2[B_5O_6(OH)_4]_2·[HCON(CH_3)_2] and [NH_3CH_2CH_2NH_3]_2·[B_(14)O_(20)(OH)_6]

Two novel organic base templated nonmetal borates [(CH₃)₂NH₂]₂[B₅O₆(OH)₄]₂·[HCON(CH₃)₂] ( ? ) and [NH₃CH₂CH₂NH₃]₂[B₁₄O₂₀(OH)₆] ( II ) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and characterized by elemental analyses, FT‐IR spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and TG‐DTA. Their crystal structures were determined from single crystal X‐ray diffraction. The crystal structure of compound I is characterized by forming a 3D supramolecular structure with large channels along axes b and c through O? H···O hydrogen‐bonding among the [B₅O₆(OH)₄]^? anions. The crystal structure of compound II is characterized by forming a 3D supramolecular structure with large channels along axis a and direction [111] through O? H···O hydrogen‐bonding among the [B₁₄O₂₀(OH)₆]^4? anions. The templating organic amine cations in I and II are both obtained through in situ hydrothermal reactions, and are both located in the channels of the 3D supramolecular structure, respectively. Their thermal behavior has been also investigated.

Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Electrochemical Properties of [Ni(phen)_3]·(m-nitrobenzoic acid)_2·(H_2O)

A new nickel(II) coordination complex [Ni(phen)3]·(m-nitrobenzoic acid)2·(H2O) was synthesized by self-assembly of m-nitrobenzoic acid, 1,10-phenanthroline and nickelous per- chlorate. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c, with a = 2.4596(6), b = 1.2124(3), c = 1.9824(5) nm, β = 97.088(5)o, V = 5.866(3) nm3, Dc = 1.474 g/cm3, Z = 4, Mr = 1301.82, μ(MoKα) = 0.417 mm-1 F(000) = 2688, R = 0.0493 and wR = 0.1025. Structural deter- mination indicates that the nickel(II) ion is coordinated with six nitrogen atoms from three phens, giving a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The cyclic voltametric analysis shows that the electron transfer in the electrode reaction is irreversible.

The crystal structure of 1 is of monoclinic, space group P2_(1/n) with α= 13.599(4), b = 18.988(6), c = 22.995(7) A, β = 90.273(6)°, V= 5938(3) A~3, Z = 4, C_(56)H_(59)CO_(1.5)N_(13)O_(17)S_3, M_r = 1370.74, D_c = 1.533 g/cm~3,μ = 0.613 mm~(-1), F(000) = 2842, GOOF = 1.018, the final R = 0.0796 and wR = 0.1498 for 9019 observed reflections with I > 2o(I). The crystal structure of 2 belongs to the monoclinic system, space group C2/c with α = 18.864(6), b = 14.283(5), c = 20.246(7) A, β = 107.799(6)°, V = 5194(3) A~3, Z = 4, C_(49)H_(52)CoN_(12)O_(10)S_2, M_r = 1092.08, D_c = 1.397 g/cm~3, μ= 0.480 mm~(-1), F(000) = 2276, GOOF = 1.059, the final R = 0.0665 and wR = 0.1900 for 4887 observed reflections with I> 2σ(I). The results of X-ray crystal structure analysis revealed that complexes 1 and 2 exhibit layered supramolecular frameworks stabilized by electrostatic interactions, π-π interactions and hydrogen bonds.     

Hydrothermal Synthesis,Crystal Structure and Electrochemical Properties of Complex [Cd(phen)_3]·(ClO_4)_2·(p-MBA)_2·(H_2O)_2

One new cadmium complex [Cd(phen)3]·(ClO4)2·(p-MBA)2·(H2O)2 has been hydro-thermally synthesized by reacting p-methylbenzoic acid (p-MBA),1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and cadmium perchlorate. It crystallizes in the triclinic system,space group P1,with a=1.2809(3),b= 1.3431(3),c=1.3734(3) nm,α=84.259(4),β=71.603(3),γ=74.424(3)o,V=2.1594(8) nm3,Dc= 1.532 g/cm3,Z=2,F(000)=1008,μ=0.697 mm-1,R=0.0646 and wR=0.1648. The crystal structure shows that the cadmium ion is coordinated with six nitrogen atoms from three 1,10-phenanthroline molecules,forming a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The result of electrochemical property analysis shows that the electron transfer in the electrode reaction is irreversible.     

SYNTHESIS AND CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF HETEROPOLY MOLYBDOSILICIC LANTHANIDE K_(10)H_3[Pr(SiMo_(11)O_(39))_2]·18H_2O

The intensity data of the title complex were collected at a low temperature of -90℃. Thecompound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2_1/n, a = 17.504(2), b = 27.323 (5),c = 21 .616(4)A, β= 104.49 (2)°, Z=4. The structure was solved by Patterson and Fouriertechniques and refined by least- squares to an R = 0.088 for 8320 independent reflections.The central Pr ion is bonded to eight oxygen atoms from two molybdosilicic heteropolyligands to form a square antiprism. The Pr- O average distance is 2.44 (2)A. Both molyb-dosilicic heteropoly ligands are of a defective α- Keggin structure.

The binuclear complexes [Cu₂L₂(H₂O)₄] · 5H₂O (1) and [Ni₂L₂(H₂O)₄] · 2H₂O (2) (where L = C₁₁H₁₁NO₅S, H ₂ L = 2-[(3-formyl-5-methyl-2-hydroxy-benzylidene)-amino]ethanesulfonic acid) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. The crystals belong to the monoclinic system, space group P2₁/c. Complex 1: a = 16.8902(12), b = 11.2829(6), c = 17.4249(11) Å; β = 106.709(4)°; S = 1.131; V = 3180.5(3) ų; Z = 4; D _Calcd = 1.729 g cm^?3; F(000) = 1712; μ = 1.554 mm^?1; R ₁ = 0.0519, wR ₂ = 0.1349; complex 2: a = 11.399(2), b = 19.985(3), c = 7.3694(10) Å; β = 108.664(7)°; S = 1.157; V = 1590.6(4) ų; Z = 2; D _Calcd = 1.604 g cm^?3; F(000) = 800; μ = 1.388 mm^?1; R ₁ = 0.1859, wR ₂ = 0.4346. The geometry around each metal(II) center can be described as slightly distorted octahedral. Water-sulfonic clusters and (H₂O)₄ water clusters can be observed for 1 from the crystal packing diagram, while cavity and offset face-to-face π–π stacking can be observed for 2. The complexes have been tested for the antibacterial activities which show antibacterial activities of 1 for β-hemolytic streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the antibacterial activity of 2 only for β-hemolytic streptococcus.
