This study examines the invariance properties of the thermodynamic entropy production in its global (integral), local (differential), bilinear, and macroscopic formulations, including dimensional scaling, invariance to fixed displacements, rotations or reflections of the coordinates, time antisymmetry, Galilean invariance, and Lie point symmetry. The Lie invariance is shown to be the most general, encompassing the other invariances. In a shear-flow system involving fluid flow relative to a solid boundary at steady state, the Galilean invariance property is then shown to preference a unique pair of inertial frames of reference—here termed an entropic pair—respectively moving with the solid or the mean fluid flow. This challenges the Newtonian viewpoint that all inertial frames of reference are equivalent. Furthermore, the existence of a shear flow subsystem with an entropic pair different to that of the surrounding system, or a subsystem with one or more changing entropic pair(s), requires a source of negentropy—a power source scaled by an absolute temperature—to drive the subsystem. Through the analysis of different shear flow subsystems, we present a series of governing principles to describe their entropic pairing properties and sources of negentropy. These are unaffected by Galilean transformations, and so can be understood to “lie above” the Galilean inertial framework of Newtonian mechanics. The analyses provide a new perspective into the field of entropic mechanics, the study of the relative motions of objects with friction. 相似文献

The rotating disk problem is analyzed on the premise that proper interpretation of experimental evidence leads to the conclusion that the postulates upon which relativity theory is based, particularly the invariance of the speed of light, are not applicable to rotating frames. Different postulates based on the Sagnac experiment are proposed, and from these postulates a new relativistic theory of rotating frames is developed following steps similar to those initially followed by Einstein for rectilinear motion. The resulting theory agrees with all experiments, resolves problems with the traditional approach to the rotating disk, and exhibits both traditionally relativistic and non-relativistic characteristics. Of particular note, no Lorentz contraction exists on the rotating disk circumference, and the disk surface, contrary to the assertions of Einstein and others, is found to be Riemann flat. The variable speed of light found in the Sagnac experiment is then shown to be characteristic of non-time-orthogonal reference frames, of which the rotating frame is one. In addition, the widely accepted postulate for the equivalence of inertial and non-inertial standard rods with zero relative velocity, used liberally in prior rotating disk analyses, is shown to be invalid for such frames. Further, the new theory stands alone in correctly predicting what was heretofore considered a spurious non-null effect on the order of 10–13 found by Brillet and Hall in the most accurate Michelson-Morley type test to date. In quantum communication, the channel noise and the misalignment of the reference frames between the communication parties will lead to the failure of quantum state transmission. Here an alignment-free spatial-polarization hyperentanglement transmission scheme is provided for hyperentangled photons. In this scheme, before the spatial-polarization hyperentanglement is transmitted through the fiber channel, it is first encoded as a time-bin entanglement with the same polarization. After the photons pass through the noise channel, the polarization errors caused by reference frames misalignment and channel noise can be corrected by time-bin entanglement. In principle, by implementing this scheme, the communication parties can share the original hyperentangled state, and the success probability can approach unity. The scheme is robust to random channel noise and reference frames misalignment, and the decoherence effect caused by the misalignment of the reference frames between the communication parties can be completely suppressed by implementing this scheme. 相似文献

We address the old question of whether or not a uniformly accelerated charged particle radiates, and consequently, if weak equivalence principle is violated by electrodynamics. We show that radiation has different meanings; some absolute, some relative. Detecting photons or electromagnetic waves is not absolute, it depends both on the electromagnetic field and on the state of motion of the antenna. An antenna used by a Rindler observer does not detect any radiation from a uniformly accelerated co-moving charged particle. Therefore, a Rindler observer cannot decide whether or not he is in an accelerated lab or in a gravitational field. We also discuss the general case. 相似文献

选取超前爱丁顿坐标,采用统计的方法,计算出动态黑洞的瞬时辐出度.结果表明,动态黑洞的瞬时辐出度不仅与假定黑洞处于热力学平衡时的辐出度有关,还与黑洞的事件视界变化率、事件视界温度、事件视界附近的熵密度及黑洞的吸收和辐射系数有关.对于球对称动态黑洞,任一时刻黑洞的瞬时辐出度总是正比于黑洞事件视界温度的四次方.

The thermodynamic properties of Zn Se are obtained by using quasi-harmonic Debye model embedded in Gibbscode for pressure range 0–10 GPa and for temperature range 0–1000 K. Helmholtz free energy, internal energy, entropy,Debye temperature, and specific heat are calculated. The thermal expansion coefficient along with Gruneisen parameter are also calculated at room temperature for the pressure range. It is found that internal energy is pressure dependent at low temperature, whereas entropy and Helmholtz free energy are pressure sensitive at high temperature. At ambient conditions,the obtained results are found to be in close agreement to available theoretical and experimental data. 相似文献

The fluctuation and relative fluctuation of entanglement entropy of a bipartite system for Dirac fields in noninertial frames are investigated. It is shown that the fluctuation and relative fluctuation of entanglement entropy are observer-dependent, which depend on their observed frames. It is found that both the fluctuation and relative fluctuation of entanglement entropy become more noticeable with the increasing of the subsystem's acceleration. We also find that the entanglement entropy always has fluctuation regardless of the initial state parameter and for any magnitude of the acceleration. We argue that the statistical mean for the measurement of entanglement entropy relates to the accelerated motion of the observer. 相似文献
