We discuss left invariant Riemannian metrics on Lie groups, and the Ricci structures they induce. A computational approach is used to manipulate the curvature tensors, and construct perturbations which preserve the Ricci structure but not the (algebraic) Lie structure. We show that this method can lead to significant changes in the growth of volume. We also show that this approach may be used to reduce the complexity of some curvature computations in Lie groups.  相似文献

Let G be a three‐dimensional unimodular Lie group, and let T be a left‐invariant symmetric (0,2)‐tensor field on G. We provide the necessary and sufficient conditions on T for the existence of a pair consisting of a left‐invariant Riemannian metric g and a positive constant c such that , where is the Ricci curvature of g. We also discuss the uniqueness of such pairs and show that, in most cases, there exists at most one positive constant c such that is solvable for some left‐invariant Riemannian metric g.  相似文献

We show that for any non-trivial representation \((V, \pi )\) of \(\mathfrak {u}(2)\) with the center acting as multiples of the identity, the semidirect product \(\mathfrak {u}(2) \ltimes _\pi V\) admits a metric with negative Ricci curvature that can be explicitly obtained. It is proved that \(\mathfrak {u}(2) \ltimes _\pi V\) degenerates to a solvable Lie algebra that admits a metric with negative Ricci curvature. An n-dimensional Lie group with compact Levi factor \(\mathrm {SU}(2)\) admitting a left invariant metric with negative Ricci is therefore obtained for any \(n \ge 7\).  相似文献

In this paper, we use the powerful tool Milnor bases to determine all the locally symmetric left invariant Riemannian metrics up to automorphism, on 3‐dimensional connected and simply connected Lie groups, by solving system of polynomial equations of constants structure of each Lie algebra . Moreover, we show that E 0(2) is the only 3‐dimensional Lie group with locally symmetric left invariant Riemannian metrics which are not symmetric.  相似文献

The Ricci curvature of solvable metric Lie algebras is studied. In particular, we prove that the Ricci operator of any metric nonunimodular solvable Lie algebra of dimension not exceeding 6 has at least two negative eigenvalues, that generalizes the known results.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions of the existence of a left‐invariant metric of strictly negative Ricci curvature on a solvable Lie group the nilradical of whose Lie algebra is a filiform Lie algebra . The two-loop renormalization group flow is studied via the induced bracket flow on 3D unimodular Lie groups. A number of steady solitons are found. Some of these steady solitons come from maximally symmetric metrics that are steady, shrinking, or expanding solitons under Ricci flow, while others are not obviously related to Ricci flow solitons.  相似文献

In the present paper we study six dimensional solvable Lie algebras with special emphasis on those admitting a symplectic structure. We list all the symplectic structures that they admit and we compute their Betti numbers finding some properties about the codimension of the nilradical. Next, we consider the conjecture of Guan about step of nilpotency of a symplectic solvmanifold finding that it is true for all six dimensional unimodular solvable Lie algebras. Finally, we consider some cohomologies for symplectic manifolds introduced by Tseng and Yau in the context of symplectic Hogde theory and we use them to determine some six dimensional solvmanifolds for which the Hard Lefschetz property holds.  相似文献
