The complex formation between La3+, UO22+ Ag+, and NH4+ cations and macrocyclic ligand, dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 (DCH18C6), was studied in acetonitrile-tetrahydrofuran (AN-THF) binary mixtures at different temperatures using the conductometric method. The results show that with the exception of complexation of the NH4+ cation with DCH18C6 in pure acetonitrile, the stoichiometry of all the complexes is being 1: 1 (M: L). The stability constants of the complexes were determined using a GENPLOT computer program. The nonlinear behavior which was observed for changes of log K f of the complexes versus the composition of the mixed solvent was discussed in terms of solvent-solvent interaction in their binary solution, which results in changing the chemical and physical properties of the constituent solvents when they mix with one another and, therefore, changing the solvation capacities of the metal cations, crown ether molecules, and even the resulting complexes with changing the mixed solvent composition. The results show that the selectivity of DCH18C6 for the studied cations changes with the composition of the AN-THF binary system. The sequence of stabilities of complexes in an AN-THF binary solution (mol. % AN = 75.0) at 25°C is [(DCH18C6)La)]3+ > [(DCH18C6)UO2]2+ > [(DCH18C6)Ag]+ ∼ [(DCH18C6)NH4]+, but in the case of other binary systems of AN/THF (mol. % AN = 25.0 and 50.0) is [(DCH18C6)La]+ > [(DCH18C6)NH4]+ ∼ [DCH18C6)UO2]2+ > [(DCH18C6)Ag]+. Proton NMR was used to study the complexation reaction between lead ion and 18-crown-6 in a number of binary acetonitrile-water mixtures. Formation constant for the resulting 11 complexes in different solvent mixtures was determined by computer fitting of the chemical shift-mole ratio data. There is an inverse relationship between the complex stability and amount of water in the mixed solvent. The dissociative kinetics of the complex was studied by proton line-shape analysis. The Arrhenius plots showed a distinct isokinetic temperature at about 25°C at which the decomplexation rate is more or less independent of the solvent composition. the complexation rate and the activation parameters E a , H and S, for the exchange have been determined and found to be strongly solvent dependent. There is actually a linear relationship between the mole fraction of acetonitrile in the mixed solvent and logarithm of the stability constant as well as activation parameters.  相似文献

From extraction experiments and γ-activity measurements, the extraction constants corresponding to the general equilibrium M+(aq) + 1·Cs+(nb) \rightleftarrows \rightleftarrows 1·M+(nb) + Cs+(aq) taking part in the two-phase water–nitrobenzene system (1 = hexaarylbenzene-based receptor; M+ = H3O+, NH4 +, Ag+, K+, Rb+, Tl+; aq = aqueous phase, nb = nitrobenzene phase) were evaluated. Furthermore, the stability constants of the ML+ complex species in nitrobenzene saturated with water were calculated; they were found to increase in the series of Rb+ < K+ < Ag+, Tl+ < H3O+, NH4 +.  相似文献

This paper presents measurements of the ionic conductivity in single crystals of β″-alumina (0.84 M2O · 0.67 MgO · 5.2 Al2O3, M = Na, K, Ag). Single crystals of sodium β″-alumina were grown from a melt of Na2O, MgO, and Al2O3 at 1660 to 1730°C. Selected crystals were converted to the other isomorphs by ion exchange. The conductivity of sodium β″-alumina varies from 0.18 to 0.01 (ohm · cm)?1 at 25°C depending upon crystal growth conditions. Potassium β″-alumina has the unusually high room temperature conductivity of 0.13 (ohm · cm)?1. Silver β″-alumina has a slightly lower conductivity, 4 × 10?3 (ohm · cm)?1 at 25°C. The activation energies of sodium and potassium β″-alumina decrease with increasing temperature, while that of silver β″-alumina is constant from ?80 to 450°C.  相似文献

Thermodynamic data are reported for NH3 clustered about Bi+, Rb+, and K+ in the gas phase. Unusually strong bondings of NH3 to Bi+ suggests the probable importance of partial covalent bonding in stabilizing the first ligand cluster. Differences in relative bond strengths for NH3 and H2O about Rb+ andK+ are consistent with the results of extended Hückel calculations reported herein.  相似文献

The preferential exchange uptake of the cations Cs+, Ba2+ and Zn2+ from pure solutions by zeolite-13X follows the order Q [Cs+]>Q [Ba2+]>Q [Zn2+], while in case of binary mixtures the order is Q [Ba2+(Zn2+)]>Q [Ba2+(Cs+)]>Q [Cs+(Zn2+)]>Q [Cs+(Ba2+)]>Q [Zn2+(Cs+)]>Q [Zn2+(Ba2+)]. Ba2+ uptake from mixtures shows the least suppression effect.

Alkylation of toluene was carried out on microporous salts of phosphotungstic acid. Among the systems studied, M2.5H0.5PW12O40 showed maximum catalytic activity.p-Xylene selectivity was evaluated as a function of x. The B3LYP/6-311++G (d,p) density functional approach was used to study the gas-phase metal affinities of Guanosine (ribonucleoside) for the Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Zn2+, and Cu+ cations. In this study we determine coordination geometries, binding strength, absolute metal ion affinities, and free energies for the most stable products. We have also compared the results for Guanosine, with our previously reported results for 2′-Deoxyguanosine. Based on the results, it is obvious that MIA is strongly dependent on the charge-to-size ratio of the cation. Guanosine interacts more strongly with Zn2+ than do with Mg2+, Ca2+, and Cu+ and therefore stronger interactions lead to higher MIA. In both free molecules and their complexes, the Syn orientation of the base is stabilized by an intramolecular O5′–H···N3 hydrogen bond and the anti orientation of the base is stabilized by an intramolecular C–H···O hydrogen bond formed between the (C8-H8) and the O5′ atom of the sugar moiety. It is also interesting to mention that linear correlation between calculated MIA values and the atomic numbers (Z) of the metal ions of Li+, Na+, and K+ were found. Furthermore, the influences of metal cationization on the strength of the N-glycosidic bond, torsion angles, angle of pseudorotation (P), and intramolecular C–H···O and O–H···O hydrogen bonds have been studied. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis was performed to calculate the charge transfer and natural population analysis of the complexes. Quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) was also applied to determine the nature of interactions.  相似文献

The complexation reactions between alkali and alkaline-earth metal cations with DB18C6 were studied in acetonitrile-methanol (AN-MeOH) and tetrahydrofuran-threechloromethane (THF-CHCl3) binary mixtures at different temperatures using the conductometric method. The obtained results show that in most cases, the DB18C6 forms 1:1 complexes with these metal cations and the stability of the complexes is affected by the nature and composition of the mixed solvents. The stability order of complexes in AN-MeOH binary systems was found to be Na+ > Li+, and in the case of THF-CHCl3 binary mixtures was Na+ > Ba2+ > Li+. An anomalous and interesting behavior was observed for the case of complexation of a K+ ion with DB18C6 in the AN-MeOH binary mixture and also for complexation of Mg2+ and Ca2+ cations with this ligand in pure THF and also in THF-CHCl3 binary systems. The values of the thermodynamic parameters (ΔH c o and ΔS c o ) for complexation reactions obtained from the temperature dependence of the stability constants and the results show that the complexes are both enthalpy-and entropy-stabilized. The relationship of the structures of a number of transformed steroids containing an open or closed 20-oxo-21a,17-tetrahydrofuran ring E and 23-oic acid derivatives with their Na+,K+-ATPase inhibiting activity has been studied. It has been found that steroids with branched side chains are more active than steroids with additional tetrahydropyran-4- and -2-one rings E. The most active in this series of 20-ketosteroids are those containing such polar groupings as diketone and epoxyethyl groupings. Steroids with a spirotetrahydrofuran ring at C(17) exhibit an activity greater than their pyranoside analogs.N. D. Semi-empirical pseudopotentials are used in calculating the ground-state potentials curves for single valence-electron molecular ions. Very accurate results are obtained and a number of predictions given. The ionization energies of the neutral dimers are evaluated. Integral scattering cross sections have been measured for alkali ions (Li+, Na+ and K+) in the energy range 500–4000 eV scattered by room temperature N2 and CO molecules through effective laboratory angles greater than 5 × 10?3 rad. The repulsive potentials deduced from the cross sections are represented bya practically identical formula for the Na+N2 and Na+CO systems, and for the K+CO systems, respectively, while the repulsive potentials of the Li+N2 system are somewhat smaller than those of the Li+CO system at larger intermolecular distances.  相似文献

以胜利褐煤为研究对象,利用FT-IR等手段,用灰分、不同湿度下的平衡复吸水含量等,系统研究了不同相对湿度下K+、Na+、Ca2+、Mg2+的水合作用对胜利褐煤平衡复吸水含量的影响。结果表明,相同浓度不同类型的金属离子与煤样的交换能力的趋势为Ca2+Na+K+Mg2+。金属离子对胜利褐煤平衡复吸水含量影响力的顺序为Mg2+Ca2+Na+≈K+。相对湿度高时,平衡复吸水含量的主要控制因素为游离水分子之间的分子作用力;相对湿度中等时,平衡复吸水含量的主要控制因素为金属水簇与毛细管之间的毛细管作用力;相对湿度低时,平衡复吸水含量的主要控制因素为金属离子的水合作用。  相似文献

The complexation reactions between K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ cations and the macrocyclic ligand, dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6), were studied in ethylacetate (EtOAc)-dimethylformamide (DMF) binary mixtures at different temperatures using the conductometric method. The conductance data show that the stochiometry of all the complexes is 1:1. A non-linear behavior was observed for the variation of log K f of the complexes versus the composition of binary mixed solvents, which was discussed in terms of heteroselective solvation and solvent-solvent interactions in binary solutions. It was found that the stability order of the complexes changes with changing the composition of the mixed solvents. The sequence of stabilities for the K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ complexes with DB18C6 in EtOAc-DMF binary solutions (mol. % DMF 25.0) and (mol. % DMF 50.0) at 25°C is (DB18C6-Ag)+ > (DB18C6-K)+ > (DB18C6-Hg)2+ > (DB18C6-NH4)+, but in the cases of pure DMF and a binary solution of EtOAc-DMF (mol. % DMF 75.0) is (DB18C6-K)+ > (DB18C6-Hg)2+ > (DB18C6-Ag)+ ≈ (DB18C6-NH4)+. The values of thermodynamic quantities (ΔH c o, ΔS c o) for these complexation reactions have been determined from the temperature dependence of the stability constants, and the results show that the thermodynamics of the complexation reactions is affected by the nature and composition of the mixed solvents and, in all cases, positive values of ΔS c o characterize the formation of these complexes. In addition, the experimental results show that the values of entropies for the complexation reactions between K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ cations and DB18C6 in EtOAc-DMF binary solutions do not change monotonically with the solvent composition. The potential curves for aquacomplexes of Li+, Na+ K+ ions with the coordination numbers, n, equal to 4, 6 and 8 have been calculated by the extended Hückel method. The equilibrium values of the hydrated shell radius and the binding energy have been determined. The complexes of Li+ with n = 6 and Na+ and K+ with n = 8 were found to be the most advantageous energetically. As could be expected the contribution of the 3d-orbitals to the binding for the K+ion is much more considerable than for the Na+ion. The character of the potential curves for aquacomplexes of sodium and potassium ions is quite different. In the case of the K+ion the curves are found to be very smooth and slowly decreasing with distance, which can be attributed to the poor hydratability of this ion and the “loosening” of water structure by it.  相似文献

A cluster of 200 water molecules containing a single ion (either Li+ or Na+ or K+ or F? or Cl?) has been studied at T = 298 K using Monte Carlo techniques. The waterwater interaction is obtained from a quantum-mechanical study of CI type; the ionwater potentials have been obtained from HartreeFock type computations. The computed coordination numbers in the first shell for Li+, Na+, K+, F? and Cl? are 4.0, 4.3, 5.1, 3.85 and 4.3, respectively; the corresponding first hydration shell radii are 2.28 Å, 2.59 Å, 3.27 Å, 1.99 Å and 2.85 Å, respectively.  Solubility isotherms in the CuBr2MBr−H2O (M + = Li+, Na+, Cs+) systems at 298.15 K were measured. The results together with other available literature data for copper chloride and bromide systems were treated by hydration analysis, and comparative discussion of ionic processes taking place in the respective saturated solutions was performed.  相似文献
