The NA 32 experiment at the CERN SPS has collected 38 million hadronic interactions with incident 200 GeV/c π?,K ? andp beam. Using a segmented silicon active target and a telescope of high resolution silicon microstrip counters we have selected fully reconstructedD 0→K ?π+,D 0→K ?π+π+π?,D +→K ?π+π+,D s + →K ? K +π+π+ and charge conjugate decays. The integrated cross-sections forD o,D + D *+ andD s + meson production and the dependence of the cross-section on longitudinal and transverse momentum of theD are presented. 相似文献

Total and differential cross sections ofK *?(890),K *?(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (890),K *0(890), \(\bar K^{ * 0} \) (1430) and? 0(770) produced inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The cross sections of the neutral resonances show a smooth increase with energy from 10 to 110 GeV/c incident momentum. For theK *+(890) and theK *0(890), i.e. the resonances with strangenessS=+1, this rise is quite significant: their cross sections practically double between 32 GeV/c and 110 GeV/c incidentK ? momentum. About 50% of the neutral kaons and 30% of charged pions produced inK ? p interactions at our energy are found to be decay products of the resonances considered. 相似文献

We present a study of \(B\bar B\) meson pair production inπ ? interactions at 140, 194 and 286 GeV incident pion energy. At 286 GeV, where we have the best statistics, we find a model-dependent \(B\bar B\) production cross-section \(\sigma _{BB} = 14_{ - 6}^{ + 7} nb/nucleon\) . 相似文献

mesons have been reconstructed from their decay to positive and negative kaons, using the data obtained from interaction of neutrons at 20–70 GeV with a carbon target collected by EXCHARM experiment at the Serpukhov accelerator. The analysis relies on the use of reconstructing trajectories and particle identification. From about 45 million events (19600 ± 350) mesons were found. The meson mass is measured to be (1019.4 ± 0.1)MeV/c
2; the meson width is measured to be (4.9 ± 0.3)MeV/c

Measurements ofK s 0 , Λ and \(\bar \Lambda \) production in π? nucleus (C, Cu, Pb) interactions are presented. The experiment was carried out with the streamer chamber spectrometer RISK using a π? beam of ~40 GeV/c and a trigger requiring a secondary charged particle with transverse momentum above 1.1 GeV/c. Production cross sections, relative production rates and distributions of Feynmanx and transverse momentum squared as well as correlations between theV 0 and the trigger particle are presented. The results are compared and found to be in agreement withK s 0 , Λ and \(\bar \Lambda \) data from untriggered π? p and π? C interactions, except for the relative production rate of antilambdas which is about to times larger in high-p t collisions. Our results can be well interpreted within the dual topological unitarization model. 相似文献

Clear evidence is presented for the production of an Ω1− resonance of mass 2253±13 MeV/c2 and width 81±38 MeV/c2 in K−p interactions at 11 GeV/c. The state is observed in the Ξ (1530)K̄ decay mode, and the corresponding inclusive cross section is estimated to be 630±180 nb. Comparisons are made with theoretical predictions and with similar states observed inhyperon beam induced data. 相似文献

We report on a study of ρ0, ρ+, ω, \(\bar K^{*0} (892)\) andK *0 (892) inclusive production in π+ p interactions at 250 GeV/c, for ρ+, \(\bar K^{*0} (892)\) for the first time in a π+ p experiment. The data are compared withK + p data in the same experiment, with results of other experiments and with quark-parton models. Interesting differences are found between ρ+,0 and ω production. 相似文献

Data on fast protons and antiprotons produced byπ ± incident on hydrogen and nuclear targets at 30 GeV/c are presented. The results covering the kinematic range 0.32 F <0.54 andp T >0.2 GeV/c, complete our previous paper. We give results on inclusive cross-sections as a function ofx F , ofp T 2 and on cross-section ratios. A search for effects of nuclear matter on the production of protons and antiprotons has yielded no major effects beyond final state absorption. 相似文献

The inclusive π0 and γ production is studied in a \(\bar PP\) experiment at 32.1 GeV/c performed in the Mirabelle bubble chamber with a sensitivity of ~2.7 events/μb. Total and topological π0 cross sections are presented. The π0 and γ longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions are obtained and compared with \(\bar PP\) data at 22.4 GeV/c andK ± P data at 32.1 GeV/c. We have studied the hadronic production of charmed mesons in the NA 32 experiment at CERN. A special trigger together with a high resolution vertex detector consisting of charge coupled devices and silicon microstrip detectors allowed the selection of very clean samples of charmed mesons. We have collected 852 fully reconstructed decays: 60D s + →K + K ?π+, 543D°→K ?π+ andK ?π+π?π+ as well as 249D +→K ?π+π+ (or charge conjugate). 147 mesons out of our \({{D^0 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{D^0 } {\bar D^0 }}} \right. \kern-0em} {\bar D^0 }}\) sample were produced via chargedD * state. For all charmed mesons we determine the total production cross-section and study thex F andp t 2 distributions. 相似文献

The results of an analysis of data from the SERP-Е-184 experiment devoted to studying mechanisms of the production of charmed particles in proton–nucleus interactions at 70 GeV and their decays are presented. The data in question were obtained upon irradiating the SVD-2 active target consisting of carbon, silicon, and lead plates with a beam of 70-GeV protons. A detailed simulation on the basis of the FRITIOF7.02 and GEANT3.21 code packages made it possible to optimize event-selection criteria and to calculate the detection efficiency for Λc+ baryons. After selecting a signal from the threebody decay of a Λc+ baryon, the inclusive cross section for its production at near-threshold energies, its lifetime, and the parameter of the A dependence of the cross section were found. The Λc+ -baryon yields are tabulated along with data from other experiments and theoretical predictions. 相似文献

Results on inclusive ? production inK ? p interactions at 110 GeV/c are presented. The production cross section is found to be larger than in πp andpp interactions at similar energies, suggesting OZI allowed \(s\bar s\) fusion to be the dominant mechanism in ? production. Thex distributions of ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) are found to be similar to each other over the entirex range suggesting an overall strangeness suppression factor of 0.20±0.04 in the sea to be the dominant source of the difference in the cross section for ? and \(\bar K^{*0} \) . There is no evidence of a narrowφπ ? state around 2.1 GeV/c2 as suggested byK + experiments, but there is some excess of events in the region 1.94?1.98 GeV/c2 consistent with theF-meson mass as observed ine + e ? experiments. 相似文献

We present data on the production of the baryons Λ, \(\bar \Lambda \) ,p and of the baryon resonances Σ*+ (1385) and Δ++ (1232) inK + p and π+ p interactions at 250 GeV/c. Results are given on total and semi-inclusive cross sections, Feynman-x spectra, transverse momentum distributions and Λ polarization. The data are compared with measurements at lower energies, with deep inclastic lepton nucleon data and with predictions of quark-parton models. The models underestimate Λ production in the central c.m. region, a feature also seen in recent heavy-ion data. This failure can be cured in JETSET 6.3 by adjustment of the di-quark break-up probability. 相似文献

New data on the inclusive production of the non-strange resonances ?0(770), ω(783), ?(1020) andf(1270) inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c are presented. The inclusive production cross sections are equal to (4.32±0.72) mb, (3.7±1.4) mb, (0.65±0.10) mb and (0.91±0.35) mb respectively. Estimates of the topological cross sections are also obtained. The invariant and non-invariantx-distributions for the vector mesons ?0 and ? indicate the prevalence of forward resonance production in the c.m. system. For the tensorf-meson the rapidity andx-distributions are presented. Thet′-distributions for ?0, ?, andf have exponential slopes of 0.6±0.1 GeV?2, 1.2±0.2 GeV?2, and 0.8±0.5 GeV?2 respectively. The exponential slope ofp T 2 -distribution of thef-meson is equal to (2.3±0.5) GeV?2. 相似文献

The inclusive production of neutral kaons inK ? p interactions at 32 GeV/c is studied in final states with one, two and three strange particles (K n or Λ). Inclusive and topological cross sections are obtained and their energy dependence discussed by comparison with lower energy data. The invariant differential cross sections of neutral kaons are studied as a function of Feynmanx, the c.m. rapidity and the transverse momentum, and a comparison is made with data at 14.3 GeV/c. Invariantx-distributions are obtained separately for “indirect” neutral kaons from \(\bar K*(890)\) decays and for “prompt” kaons. We also discuss the possibility of connecting quark structure functions with hadron fragmentation spectra at this c.m. energy \(\sqrt s \simeq 8 GeV\) . 相似文献
