The ground-state properties and quantum entanglement of the two-leg rung-dimerized spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnetic ladders are investigated based on the Green? function combined with the Bond mean-field theory. Numerical results show that the ground-state energies do not change with the rung dimerization, and the ground-state gaps are almost proportionate to the rung dimerization coefficient δ and coupling strength α  . Magnetization curves and entanglement measurements demonstrate that there are five magnetic phases, which are identified in the h–δhδ phase diagram. Entanglement measurements in different phases exhibit distinct behaviors, implying the fundamental differences of the five magnetic phases.  相似文献

We study the magnetic-field-induced quantum phase transition from a gapped quantum phase that has no magnetic long-range order into a gapless phase in the spin-1/2 ladder compound bis(2,3-dimethylpyridinium) tetrabromocuprate (DIMPY). At temperatures below about 1 K, the specific heat in the gapless phase attains an asymptotic linear temperature dependence, characteristic of a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid. Inelastic neutron scattering and the specific heat measurements in both phases are in good agreement with theoretical calculations, demonstrating that DIMPY is the first model material for an S=1/2 two-leg spin ladder in the strong-leg regime.  相似文献

Based on numerical simulations, a study of the high temperature, finite frequency, thermal conductivity kappa(omega) of spin-1/2 ladders is presented. The exact diagonalization and a novel Lanczos technique are employed. The conductivity spectra, analyzed as a function of rung coupling, point to a nondiverging dc limit but to an unconventional low frequency behavior. The results are discussed in perspective with recent experiments indicating a significant magnetic contribution to the energy transport in quasi-one-dimensional compounds.  相似文献

In this study, we explore the entanglement of free spin-(1/2), spin-1, and spin-2 fields. We start with an example involving Majorana fields in 1+1 and 2+1 dimensions. Subsequently, we perform the Bogoliubov transformation and express the vacuum state with a particle pair state in the configuration space, which is used to calculate the entropy. This clearly demonstrates that the entanglement entropy originates from the particles across the boundary. Finally, we generalize this method to free spin-1 and spin-2 fields. These higher free massless spin fields have wellknown complications owing to gauge redundancy. We deal with the redundancy by gauge-fixing in the light-cone gauge. We show that this gauge provides a natural tensor product structure in the Hilbert space, while surrendering explicit Lorentz invariance. We also use the Bogoliubov transformation to calculate the entropy. The area law emerges naturally by this method.  相似文献

The bipartite entanglement of the two-and three-spin Heisenberg model was investigated by using the concept of negativity. It is found that for the ground-state entanglement of the two-spin model, the negativity always decreases as B increases if A Δ<y-1,and it may keep a steady value of 0.5in the region of B<J[(Δ+1)2-y2]1/2if Δ>y-1,while for that of the three-spin model, the negativity exhibits square wave structures if y=0 or Δ=0.For thermal states, there are two areas showing entanglement, namely, the main region and the sub-region.The main region exists only when Δ>Δc(Δc1=and(y2-1)/2for the 2-and 3-spin model respectively)and extends in terms of B and T as Δ increases, while the sub-region survives only when y≠0 and shrinks in terms of B and T as Δ increases.  相似文献

Dimerized spin-1/2 ladders exhibit a variety of phase structures, which depend on the intra-chain and inter-chain spin exchange energies as well as on the dimerization pattern of the ladder. Using the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) algorithm, we study critical properties of the bond-alternating two-leg Heisenberg spin ladder with diagonal interaction J×. Two types of spin systems, staggered dimerized antiferromagnetic ladder and columnar dimerized ferro-antiferromagnetic couplings ladder, are investigated. To clarify the phase transition behaviors, we simultaneously analyze the string order parameter (SOP), the twisted order parameter (TOP), as well as a measurement of the quantum information analysis. Based on measuring this different observables, we establish the phase diagram accurately and give the fitting functions of the phase boundaries. In addition, the phase transition of cross-coupled spin ladder (in the absence of intrinsic dimerization) is also discussed.  相似文献

Using bosonization approach, we derive an effective low-energy theory for XXZ-symmetric spin-1/2 zigzag ladders and discuss its phase diagram by a variational approach. A spin nematic phase emerges in a wide part of the phase diagram, either critical or massive. Possible crossovers between the spontaneously dimerized and spin nematic phases are discussed, and the topological excitations in all phases identified.Received: 14 August 2004, Published online: 29 June 2004PACS: 75.10.Pq Spin chain models - 75.40.-s Critical-point effects, specific heats, short-range order - 75.30.Gw Magnetic anisotropy - 71.10.Pm Fermions in reduced dimensions (anyons, composite fermions, Luttinger liquid, etc.)  相似文献

Using micromechanical force magnetometry, we have measured the magnetization of the strong-leg spin-1/2 ladder compound (C(7)H(10)N)(2)CuBr(2) at temperatures down to 45 mK. Low-temperature magnetic susceptibility as a function of field exhibits a maximum near the critical field H(c) at which the magnon gap vanishes, as expected for a gapped one-dimensional antiferromagnet. Above H(c) a clear minimum appears in the magnetization as a function of temperature, as predicted by theory. In this field region, the susceptibility in conjunction with our specific-heat data yields the Wilson ratio R(W). The result supports the relation R(W)=4K, where K is the Tomonaga-Luttinger-liquid parameter.  相似文献

Single-particle diagonal and off-diagonal Green's functions of a two-leg t-J ladder at 1/8 doping are investigated by exact diagonalizations techniques. A numerically tractable expression for the superconducting gap is proposed and the frequency dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the gap are determined. The role of the low-energy gapped spin modes, whose energies are computed by a (one-step) contractor renormalization procedure, is discussed.  相似文献

The entanglement quantum properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a symmetrical diamond chain were analyzed. Due to the separable nature of the Ising-type exchange interactions between neighboring Heisenberg dimers, calculation of the entanglement can be performed exactly for each individual dimer. Pairwise thermal entanglement was studied in terms of the isotropic Ising-Heisenberg model and analytical expressions for the concurrence (as a measure of bipartite entanglement) were obtained. The effects of external magnetic field H and next-nearest neighbor interaction J(m) between nodal Ising sites were considered. The ground state structure and entanglement properties of the system were studied in a wide range of coupling constant values. Various regimes with different values of ground state entanglement were revealed, depending on the relation between competing interaction strengths. Finally, some novel effects, such as the two-peak behavior of concurrence versus temperature and coexistence of phases with different values of magnetic entanglement, were observed.  相似文献

Most complex networks serve as conduits for various dynamical processes, ranging from mass transfer by chemical reactions in the cell to packet transfer on the Internet. We collected data on the time dependent activity of five natural and technological networks, finding evidence of orders of magnitude differences in the fluxes of individual nodes. This dynamical inhomogeneity reflects the emergence of localized high flux regions or hot spots, carrying an overwhelming fraction of the networks activity. We find that each system is characterized by a unique scaling law, coupling the flux fluctuations with the total flux on individual nodes, a result of the competition between the systems internal collective dynamics and changes in the external environment. We propose a method to separate these two components, allowing us to predict the relevant scaling exponents. As high fluctuations can lead to dynamical bottlenecks and jamming, these findings have a strong impact on the predictability and failure prevention of complex transportation networks.Received: 25 October 2003, Published online: 17 February 2004PACS: 89.75.-k Complex systems - 89.75.Da Systems obeying scaling laws - 05.40.-a Fluctuation phenomena, random processes, noise, and Brownian motion  相似文献

With the aid of the Schwinger-boson mean-field method, we study the low-lying excitations and thermodynamic properties of a ferrimagnetic Heisenberg two-leg ladder (i.e., a ferrimagnetic double-chain with an antiferromagnetic interaction). The interaction between the two chains plays an important role in producing a low-lying excitation energy gap, affecting the low-lying excited spectrum, and increasing the disorder of the ferrimagnetic double-chain. The excitation spectrum, energy gap, and spin reduction in the ground state are calculated. Thermodynamic quantities such as the short-range spin correlation and short-range order are also obtained at low temperatures. In this gapful system, we observed the exponential behaviors in both the specific heat (CV) and the product of magnetic susceptibility and temperature ( ) at low temperatures. The exponential behavior of the versus temperature agrees qualitatively with the experimental results in at low temperatures.Received: 24 October 2003, Published online: 15 March 2004PACS: 75.10.Jm Quantized spin models - 75.40.Cx Static properties (order parameter, static susceptibility, heat capacities, critical exponents, etc.) - 75.50.Ee Antiferromagnetics - 75.50.Gg Ferrimagnetics  相似文献

Specific heat (CV) measurements in the spin-1/2 Cu2(C2H12N2)2Cl4 system under a magnetic field up to H =8.25 T are reported and compared to the results of numerical calculations based on the 2-leg antiferromagnetic Heisenberg ladder. While the temperature dependences of both the susceptibility and the low-field specific heat are accurately reproduced by this model, deviations are observed above the critical field HC1 at which the spin gap closes. In this Quantum High Field phase, the contribution of the low-energy quantum fluctuations are stronger than in the Heisenberg ladder model. We argue that this enhancement can be attributed to dynamical lattice fluctuations. Finally, we show that such a Heisenberg ladder, for H > H C1, is unstable, when coupled to the 3D lattice, against a lattice distortion. These results provide an alternative explanation for the observed low temperature ( K-0.8 K) phase (previously interpreted as a 3D magnetic ordering) as a new type of incommensurate gapped state. The zero- and low-temperature behaviors of spin-1/2 two-leg ladder with staggered dimerization are investigated by the Green’s function theory. At zero temperature, the ground state phase diagram is explored, wherein the leg-dimer and rung-singlet phases are revealed, which reflect two different intrinsic gapped behaviors. The former is attributed to the bond alternation along the legs, while the latter is due to the strong rung coupling. It is found that the quantum phase transition from one to another is of the first order, which can be clearly signaled by the rung entanglement entropy. At finite temperatures, the temperature dependence of thermodynamic quantities such as the magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, thermal Drude weight and rung entanglement entropy are calculated to characterize the corresponding quantum phases. It is shown that the magnetic behaviors clearly manifest a typical antiferromagnetism at low temperature, which is in accordance with the experimental results. It is also found that the intrinsic gapped low-lying excitations are responsible for the observed thermodynamic behaviors.  相似文献
