We consider a linear integral equation with a hypersingular integral treated in the sense of the Hadamard finite value. This equation arises in the solution of the Neumann boundary value problem for the Laplace equation with a representation of a solution in the form of a double-layer potential. We consider the case in which the interior or exterior boundary value problem is solved in a domain; whose boundary is a smooth closed surface, and an integral equation is written out on that surface. For the integral operator in that equation, we suggest quadrature formulas like the method of vortical frames with a regularization, which provides its approximation on the entire surface for the use of a nonstructured partition. We construct a numerical scheme for the integral equation on the basis of suggested quadrature formulas, prove an estimate for the norm of the inverse matrix of the related system of linear equations and the uniform convergence of numerical solutions to the exact solution of the hypersingular integral equation on the grid.  相似文献

We study the numerical solution of a linear hypersingular integral equation arising when solving the Neumann boundary value problem for the Laplace equation by the boundary integral equation method with the solution represented in the form of a double layer potential. The integral in this equation is understood in the sense of Hadamard finite value. We construct quadrature formulas for the integral occurring in this equation based on a triangulation of the surface and an application of the linear approximation to the unknown function on each of the triangles approximating the surface. We prove the uniform convergence of the quadrature formulas at the interpolation nodes as the triangulation size tends to zero. A numerical solution scheme for this integral equation based on the suggested quadrature formulas and the collocation method is constructed. Under additional assumptions about the shape of the surface, we prove a uniform estimate for the error in the numerical solution at the interpolation nodes.  相似文献

We consider a linear integral equation with a hypersingular integral treated in the sense of the Hadamard finite value. This equation arises when solving the Neumann boundary value problem for the Laplace equation with the use of the representation of the solution in the form of a double layer potential. We study the case in which an exterior or interior boundary value problem is solved in a domain whose boundary is a smooth closed surface and the integral equation is written out on that surface. For the numerical solution of the integral equation, the surface is approximated by spatial polygons whose vertices lie on the surface. We construct a numerical scheme for solving the integral equation on the basis of such an approximation to the surface with the use of quadrature formulas of the type of the method of discrete singularities with regularization. We prove that the numerical solutions converge to the exact solution of the hypersingular integral equation uniformly on the grid.  相似文献

We consider a linear integral equation, which arises when solving the Neumann boundary value problem for the Laplace equation with the representation of the solution in the form of a double layer potential, with a hypersingular integral treated in the sense of Hadamard finite value. We consider the case in which the exterior or interior problem is solved in a domain whose boundary is a closed smooth surface and the integral equation is written over that surface. A numerical scheme for solving the integral equation is constructed with the use of quadrature formulas of the type of the method of discrete singularities with a regularization for the use of an irregular grid. We prove the convergence, uniform over the grid points, of the numerical solutions to the exact solution of the hypersingular equation and, in addition, the uniform convergence of the values of the approximate finite-difference derivative operator on the numerical solution to the values on the projection of the exact solution onto the subspace of grid functions with nodes at the collocation points.  相似文献

We study the solvability of a complete two-dimensional linear integral equation with a hypersingular integral understood in the sense of the Hadamard principal value. We justify the convergence of a quadrature-type numerical method for the case in which the equation in question is uniquely solvable. We present an application of the results to the numerical solution of the Neumann boundary value problem on a plane screen for the Helmholtz equation by the surface potential method.  相似文献

We consider a three-dimensional boundary value problem for the Laplace equation on a thin plane screen with boundary conditions for the “directional derivative”: boundary conditions for the derivative of the unknown function in the directions of vector fields defined on the screen surface are posed on each side of the screen. We study the case in which the direction of these vector fields is close to the direction of the normal to the screen surface. This problem can be reduced to a system of two boundary integral equations with singular and hypersingular integrals treated in the sense of the Hadamard finite value. The resulting integral equations are characterized by the presence of integral-free terms that contain the surface gradient of one of the unknown functions. We prove the unique solvability of this system of integral equations and the existence of a solution of the considered boundary value problem and its uniqueness under certain assumptions.  相似文献

A numerical method for computing the potential flow past a lattice of airfoils is described. The problem is reduced to a linear integrodifferential equation on the lattice contour, which is then approximated by a linear system of equations with the help of specially derived quadrature formulas. The quadrature formulas exhibit exponential convergence in the number of points on an airfoil and have a simple analytical form. Due to its fast convergence and high accuracy, the method can be used to directly optimize the airfoils as based on any given integral characteristics. The shear stress distribution and the separation points are determined from the velocity distribution at the airfoil boundary calculated by solving the boundary layer equations. The method proposed is free of laborious grid generation procedures and does not involve difficulties associated with numerical viscosity at high Reynolds numbers.  相似文献

We consider a boundary value problem for the stationary diffusion equation outside cuts on the plane. The Dirichlet condition is posed on one side of each cut, and an oblique derivative condition is posed on the other side. We prove existence and uniqueness theorems for the solution of the boundary value problem. We obtain an integral representation of a solution in the form of potentials. The densities of these potentials are found from a system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind, which is uniquely solvable. We obtain closed asymptotic formulas for the gradient of the solution of the boundary value problem at the endpoints of the cuts.  相似文献

By using a simple layer potential and an angular potential, one can reduce the problem with a directional derivative for the Laplace equation outside several open curves on the plane to a uniquely solvable system of integral equations that consists of an integral equation of the second kind and additional integral conditions. The kernel in the integral equation of the second kind contains singularities and can be represented as a Cauchy singular integral. We suggest a numerical method for solving a system of integral equations. Quadrature formulas for the logarithmic and angular potentials are represented. The quadrature formula for the logarithmic potential preserves the property of its continuity across the boundary (open curves).  相似文献

We consider an initial value problem for the second-order differential equation with a Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator coefficient. For the numerical solution we carry out semi-discretization by the Laguerre transformation with respect to the time variable. Then an infinite system of the stationary operator equations is obtained. By potential theory, the operator equations are reduced to boundary integral equations of the second kind with logarithmic or hypersingular kernels. The full discretization is realized by Nyström's method which is based on the trigonometric quadrature rules. Numerical tests confirm the ability of the method to solve these types of nonstationary problems.  相似文献

In this paper we present a certain collocation method for the numerical solution of a class of boundary integral equations of the first kind with logarithmic kernel as principle part. The transformation of the boundary value problem into boundary singular integral equation of the first kind via single-layer potential is discussed. A discretization and error representation for the numerical solution of boundary integral equations has been given. Quadrature formulae have been proposed and the error arising due to the quadrature formulae used has been estimated. The convergence of the solution with respect to the proposed numerical algorithm is shown and finally some numerical results have been presented.  相似文献

Two-dimensional and axisymmetric boundary value problems for the Laplace equation in a domain bounded by a closed smooth contour are considered. The problems are reduced to integral equations with a periodic singular kernel, where the period is equal to the length of the contour. Taking into account the periodicity property, high-order accurate quadrature formulas are applied to the integral operator. As a result, the integral equations are reduced to a system of linear algebraic equations. This substantially simplifies the numerical schemes for solving boundary value problems and considerably improves the accuracy of approximation of the integral operator. The boundaries are specified by analytic functions, and the remainder of the quadrature formulas decreases faster than any power of the integration step size. The examples include the two-dimensional potential inviscid circulation flow past a single blade or a grid of blades; the axisymmetric flow past a torus; and free-surface flow problems, such as wave breakdown, standing waves, and the development of Rayleigh-Taylor instability.  相似文献

We consider numerical methods for solving inverse problems that arise in heart electrophysiology. The first inverse problem is the Cauchy problem for the Laplace equation. Its solution algorithm is based on the Tikhonov regularization method and the method of boundary integral equations. The second inverse problem is the problem of finding the discontinuity surface of the coefficient of conductivity of a medium on the basis of the potential and its normal derivative given on the exterior surface. For its numerical solution, we suggest a method based on the method of boundary integral equations and the assumption on a special representation of the unknown surface.  相似文献

Summary.   In this paper we establish a error estimation on the boundary for the solution of an exterior Neumann problem in . To solve this problem we consider an integral representation which depends from the solution of a boundary integral equation. We use a full piecewise linear discretisation which on one hand leads to a simple numerical algorithm but on the other hand the error analysis becomes more difficult due to the singularity of the integral kernel. We construct a particular approximation for the solution of the boundary integral equation, for the solution of the Neumann problem and its gradient on the boundary and estimate their error. We consider a class of boundary value problems for linear multi-term fractional differential equations which involve Caputo-type fractional derivatives. Using an integral equation reformulation of the boundary value problem, some regularity properties of the exact solution are derived. Based on these properties, the numerical solution of boundary value problems by piecewise polynomial collocation methods is discussed. In particular, we study the attainable order of convergence of proposed algorithms and show how the convergence rate depends on the choice of the grid and collocation points. Theoretical results are verified by two numerical examples.  相似文献

We consider a time-harmonic electromagnetic scattering problem for an inhomogeneous medium. Some symmetry hypotheses on the refractive index of the medium and on the electromagnetic fields allow to reduce this problem to a two-dimensional scattering problem. This boundary value problem is defined on an unbounded domain, so its numerical solution cannot be obtained by a straightforward application of usual methods, such as for example finite difference methods, and finite element methods. A possible way to overcome this difficulty is given by an equivalent integral formulation of this problem, where the scattered field can be computed from the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of second kind. The numerical approximation of this problem usually produces large dense linear systems. We consider usual iterative methods for the solution of such linear systems, and we study some preconditioning techniques to improve the efficiency of these methods. We show some numerical results obtained with two well known Krylov subspace methods, i.e., Bi-CGSTAB and GMRES.  相似文献

This paper deals with the singularly perturbed boundary value problem for a linear second-order delay differential equation. For the numerical solution of this problem, we use an exponentially fitted difference scheme on a uniform mesh which is accomplished by the method of integral identities with the use of exponential basis functions and interpolating quadrature rules with weight and remainder term in integral form. It is shown that one gets first order convergence in the discrete maximum norm, independently of the perturbation parameter. Numerical results are presented which illustrate the theoretical results.  相似文献

Some mathematical models of applied problems lead to the need of solving boundary value problems with a fractional power of an elliptic operator. In a number of works, approximations of such a nonlocal operator are constructed on the basis of an integral representation with a singular integrand. In the present article, new integral representations are proposed for operators with fractional powers. Approximations are based on the classical quadrature formulas. The results of numerical experiments on the accuracy of quadrature formulas are presented. The proposed approximations are used for numerical solving a model two‐dimensional boundary value problem for fractional diffusion.  相似文献

We consider the retrospective inverse problem that consists in determining the initial solution of the one-dimensional heat conduction equation with a given condition at the final instant of time. The solution of the problem is given in the form of the Poisson integral and is numerically realized by means of a quadrature formula leading to a system of linear algebraic equations with dense matrix. The results of numerical experiments are presented and show the efficiency of the numerical method including the case of the final condition with random errors.  相似文献

The solution of eigenvalue problems for partial differential operators by using boundary integral equation methods usually involves some Newton potentials which may be resolved by using a multiple reciprocity approach. Here we propose an alternative approach which is in some sense equivalent to the above. Instead of a linear eigenvalue problem for the partial differential operator we consider a nonlinear eigenvalue problem for an associated boundary integral operator. This nonlinear eigenvalue problem can be solved by using some appropriate iterative scheme, here we will consider a Newton scheme. We will discuss the convergence and the boundary element discretization of this algorithm, and give some numerical results.  相似文献
