The technique of Green's function is used to investigate the surface spin waves in semiinfinite anisotropic Heisenberg magnet with a single-ion uniaxial anisotropy. The dispersion relations of surface excitations are obtained for the ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic systems, respectively. Results in some particular cases are discussed.  相似文献

We consider an S=1 Heisenberg chain with strong exchange (Delta=J(z)/J(perpendicular)) and single-ion uniaxial anisotropy (D) in a magnetic field (B) along the symmetry axis. The low-energy spectrum is described by an effective S=1/2 XXZ model that acts on two different low-energy sectors for a finite range of fields. The vacuum of each sector exhibits Ising-like antiferromagnetic ordering coexisting with the finite spin stiffness obtained from the exact solution of the XXZ model. In this way, we demonstrate the existence of a spin supersolid phase. We also compute the full Delta-B quantum phase diagram using a quantum Monte Carlo method.  相似文献

Classical Heisenberg antiferromagnets with uniaxial exchange anisotropy and a cubic anisotropy term in a field on simple cubic lattices are studied with the help of ground state considerations and extensive Monte Carlo simulations. Especially, we analyze the role of non-collinear structures of biconical type occurring in addition to the well-known antiferromagnetic and spin-flop structures. Pertinent phase diagrams are determined, and compared to previous findings.  相似文献

The behaviour of the spins of the photoexcited ions and its nearest antiferromagnetic neighbours in a two-sublattice antiferromagnet with isotropic Heisenberg interaction in the saturated paramagnetism region has been theoretically studied. It has been shown that the magnetic moments of the ions may be oriented in this region noncollinear to the magnetic field in the case whether the exchange integral in the excited state is larger than in the ground state or there is strong uniaxial single-ion “easy plane” anisotropy in the excited state. The exciton-magnon transitions intensity may, as a result, also alter in the saturated paramagnetism region.  相似文献

The classical Kitaev–Heisenberg model on the triangular lattice is investigated by simulation in its full parameter space together with the next-nearest neighboring Heisenberg interaction or the single-ion anisotropy. The variation of the system is demonstrated directly by the joint density of states (DOS) depending on energy and magnetization obtained from Wang–Landau algorithm. The Metropolis Monte Carlo simulation and the zero-temperature Glauber dynamics are performed to show the internal energy, the correlation functions and spin configurations at zero temperature. It is revealed that two types of DOS (U and inverse U) divide the whole parameter range into two main parts with antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic features respectively. In the parameter range of U type DOS, the mixed frustration from the triangular geometry and the Kitaev interaction produces rich phases, which are influenced in different ways by the next-nearest neighboring Heisenberg interaction and the single-ion anisotropy.  相似文献

The phase transitions in a single-ion anisotropy type weak ferromagnet at 0°K are studied using a two sublattice model and molecular field theory. In an external field applied along the antiferromagnetic axis, there exist three stable phases, denoted as weak ferromagnetic (WF), spin-flop (SF), and metamagnetic (MM). The character of the WF to SF transition changes from first to second order as the angle between a sublattice uniaxial anisotropy axis and the antiferromagnetic axis is increased. The tricritical field for this phase transition is proportional to the one-half power of the uniaxial anisotropy field, when the latter is much smaller than the exchange field. The transitions to and from the MM phase are always of first order. The former can result from either a WF or a SF phase instability threshold being reached. The latter always results in a transition to the WF phase. All three phases can, under specified conditions, coexist for a range of applied field values. In this case, an instability of the WF phase always results in a first order transition to the SF phase.  相似文献

Triangular anisotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet shares with the triangular planar antiferromagnet the rich phenomenology found in presence of an external magnetic field. The physical interest in the triangular Heisenberg model is obvious because the planar model has not the quantum analogous one and, more seriously, it does not allow out-of-plane fluctuations so that it provides a very rough representation of actual magnetic insulators. Indeed, we show that magnetic resonance data on CsCuCl3 are satisfactorily understood on the basis of the properties of the quantum triangular Heisenberg antiferromagnet with easy-plane exchange anisotropy.  相似文献

One-dimensional single-ion anisotropic ferromagnet with spin-1 is investigated by means of Green's function treatment in this paper. The model Hamiltonian includes a Heisenberg ferromagnetic term, an external magnetic field, and a second-order single-ion anisotropy. The magnetic properties of the system are treated by the random phase approximation for the exchange interaction term and the Anderson-Callen approximation for the anisotropy term. Our paramagnetic results are in agreement with the other theoretical results.  相似文献

The role of spin-orbit interaction arises from the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya anisotropic antisymmetric interaction on the entanglement transfer via an antiferromagnetic XXZ Heisenberg chain is investigated. From symmetrical point of view the XXZ Hamiltonian with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction can be replaced by a modified XXZ Hamiltonian which is defined by a new exchange coupling constant and rotated Pauli operators. The modified coupling constant and the angle of rotations depend on the strength of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. In this paper we study the dynamical behavior of the entanglement propagation through a system which is consist of a pair of maximally entangled spins coupled to one end of the chain. The calculations are performed for the ground state and the thermal state of the chain separately. In both cases the presence of this anisotropic interaction make our channel more efficient. We show for large values of the strength of this interaction a large family of XXZ chains becomes efficient quantum channels for whole values of anisotropy parameter in the region −2 ≤ Δ ≤ 2.  相似文献

A thermodynamic analysis of spin ordering in an Ising antiferromagnet with single-ion easy-plane anisotropy is carried out. The solutions of the equations of state are analyzed, and the phase diagram is constructed. It is shown that an increase in the single-ion anisotropy constant as a result of increasing competition between single-ion anisotropy and exchange interaction brings about a crossover from the continuous phase transition to the abrupt phase transition. This is initiated by a change in the ion state populations due to single-ion anisotropy and by the freezing of ionic states with a nonzero spin projection. An increase in the single-ion anisotropy also leads to a crossover of the phase transformation between the paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic states from the order-disorder to order-order type.  相似文献

The ordered and disordered phases of spin-1 Heisenberg and Ising antiferromagnets with easy-axis single-ion anisotropy on a three-dimensional lattice are studied. By using of the double-time Green’s function method within the Tyablikov decoupling for the exchange anisotropy and Callen’s approximation for the single-ion anisotropy, the Néel temperature, magnetization and susceptibility are investigated. Their relations with the temperature and anisotropic parameter are analyzed over the entire range of temperature. It is found that our results agree well with spin wave theory results at low temperature, agree with the high temperature series results at high temperature, and compare reasonably well with the linked-cluster series approach and ratio method results at intermediate temperature.  相似文献

We study S=1 kagome antiferromagnets with an isotropic Heisenberg exchange J and strong easy-axis single-ion anisotropy D. For D>J, the low-energy physics can be described by an effective S=1/2 XXZ model with antiferromagnetic Jz approximately J and ferromagnetic J perpendicular approximately J2/D. Exploiting this connection, we argue that nontrivial ordering into a "spin-nematic" occurs whenever D dominates over J, and discuss its experimental signatures. We also study a magnetic field induced transition to a magnetization plateau state at magnetization 1/3 which breaks lattice translation symmetry due to ordering of the Sz and occupies a lobe in the B/Jz-Jz/J perpendicular phase diagram.  相似文献

Magnetic behavior of a spin-1 Heisenberg dimer is analysed in dependence on the both uniaxial single-ion anisotropy and XXZ exchange anisotropy in a zero- as well as non-zero longitudinal magnetic field. A complete set of eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the total Hamiltonian is presented together with an exact analytical expression for the Gibbs free energy, longitudinal magnetization, longitudinal and transverse susceptibility. The obtained theoretical results are compared with the relevant experimental data of [Ni2(Medpt)2(μ-ox)(H2O)2](ClO4)2·2H2O (Medpt=methyl-bis(3-aminopropyl)amine).  相似文献

Exchange anisotropy in FM/AFM bilayers has given a lot of static magnetization properties such as enhanced coercivity and magnetization loop shifts. These phenomena are primarily from the effective anisotropies introduced into a ferromagnet by exchange coupling with a strongly anisotropic antiferromagnet. These effective anisotropies can also be used to explain the dynamic consequences of exchange-biased bilayers. In this article, the dynamic consequences such as exchange-induced susceptibility, exchange-induced permeability, and the corresponding domain wall characteristics in the exchange-biased structures of ferromagnet/antiferromagnet1/antiferromagnet2 are studied. The results show that the second antiferromagnetic layer can largely affect the dynamic consequences of exchange-biased bilayers. Especially in the case of critical temperature, the effects become more obvious. Practically, the exchange anisotropy of biased bilayer system can be tuned by exchange coupling with the second antiferromagnetic layer.  相似文献

The effect of anisotropic exchange and single-ion anisotropy on the vortex structure is analyzed. Abstract

Following the Bogoliubov variational principle, the equilibrium and stability equations of the free energy for the two sublattice antiferromagnetic system with inter- and intrasublattice exchange interactions and with an external magnetic field are investigated. For the Ising spin system with uniaxial anisotropy, the phase diagrams have been calculated for various values of anisotropy constant d and the ratio of intra- to intersublattice interaction constants γ. It is shown that first-order, as well as second-order transitions, occur for γ > 0, whereas only a second-order transition occurs for γ ≦ 0, irrespective of the sign of d. Furthermore, similar calculations are extended for the anisotropic Heisenberg spin system and quite interesting phase diagrams have been obtained. Next, the effects of the anisotropic exchange interactions on the magnetic ordered states and the magnetizations of the singlet ground state system of spin one and with a uniaxial anisotropy term are investigated in the vicinity of the level crossing field H ? D/gμ B . A field-induced ordered state without the transverse component of magnetization is shown to appear in a certain range of magnetic field as the spin dimensionality decreases. It has also turned out that the phase transition between this ordered state and the canted antiferromagnetic state ordinarily found for the isotropic singlet ground state system is of first order. Lastly, the stable spin configurations at a temperature of absolute zero for a two-sublattice uniaxial antiferromagnet under an external magnetic field of arbitrary direction are studied. In particular, the effects of a single ionic anisotropy D-term and anisotropy in the exchange interactions on the magnetic phases are investigated. The antiferromagnetic state has turned out to appear only for the external magnetic field along the easy axis of sublattice magnetization, and makes a first-order phase transition to the canted-spin state or the ferromagnetic state. For other field directions, no antiferromagnetic state appears and only a second-order phase transition between the canted-spin and the ferromagnetic states occurs. The critical field as a function of external field direction has been calculated for several D-values.  相似文献

We study the thermal entanglement in the two-qubit Heisenberg XXZ model with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction, and teleport an unknown state using the model in thermal equilibrium state as a quantum channel. The effects of DM interaction, including Dx and Dz interaction, the anisotropy and temperature on the entanglement and fully entangled fraction are considered. What deserves mentioning here is that for the antiferromagnetic case, the Dx interaction can be more helpful for increasing the entanglement and critical temperature than Dz, but this cannot for teleportation.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric experiments provide information on spin configurations, critical indices and microscopic ionic interactions. The basic theory of the magnetoelectric effect in antiferromagnets is rederived in this article and extended to situations in which there is an external magnetic field including the spin-flop phase. It is found that measurements of the magnetoelectric tensor α as a function of field in the antiferromagnetic and spin-flop phases of an antiferromagnet can provide more complete information in all three categories above. Certain higher-order terms are examined and it is found that it is possible to measure the staggered susceptibility directly in magnetoelectric materials. It is shown that a non-zero value of α causes a tetragonal antiferromagnet to be optically biaxial. A pedagogical discussion of the origins of magnetoelectric effects is given in the Appendix.  相似文献
