TheK-conversion coefficients α K of the isomers Pd107m and Pd109m have been measured by detecting theKX-rays and gamma-rays from neutron-irradiated Pd-samples with the aid of a NaJ(Tl)-scintillation spectrometer. The results are α K =0,41±0,02 and α K =0,52±0,04, respectively. These values have been compared with those taken from the tables of Rose, confirming the assumption of E3-transitions which was proposed earlier by other authors. In addition, the assignment of the 21 sec-activity to Pd107m has been confirmed.  相似文献

TheK-conversion coefficient of the 321 keVE1 transition in Hf177 has been measured by means of an iron free double focusing beta-ray spectrometer, using the internalexternal conversion method. The result obtained for α K (321)=0.162±0.016 is in disagreement with the theoretical values for pureE1 transition (α K =0.0154) calculated bySliv andBand. The large anomaly observed in theK-conversion process of the inhibitedE1 transition is compatible with a largeM2 admixture or, more probable with the presence of penetration matrix elements.  相似文献

TheK-conversion coefficients α K of the nuclear isomers Se77m , Se79m , Ge75m and Ge77m have been measured by detecting theK-röntgen- andγ-radiation from neutron-irradiated Se- and GeO2-samples with the aid of scintillation counters to be α K =0.79±0.06, 7.4±0.6, 1.44±0.13, and 1.2±0.6, respectively. In all cases, the values obtained, are in agreement with those taken from the tables ofRose under the assumption of anE3-transition, thus confirming this assignment which was proposed earlier by other authors. In addition, the cross sectionsσ for inducing the activities by slowed down neutrons have been measured to beσ=22±2, 0.40±0.04, 0.20±0.02, and 0.12±0.03 barns, respectively, and are compared with earlier data of several authors.  相似文献

The gamma-ray relative intensities from transitions in Hf180 following the 5.5 hour Hf180m decay have been measured using a bent-crystal gamma-ray diffraction monochromator and a least-squares fitting technique. From these measurements it was possible to deduce a value for the internal conversion coefficient for the 93.3-keV transition of α T 93 =4.91±0.23. From previous measurements of conversion electron intensities byEdwards andBoehm and our gamma-ray relative intensities, internal conversion coefficients for all transitions except the 57.5-keV transition were obtained. These coefficients agree well with the previous determinations byEdwards andBoehm, however, our measurements have improved precision, particularly in the case of 501.3-keV transition. The present measurements of α K for the 215.3-, 332.5-and 443.8-keVE2 transitions are 11% lower than theoretical values while αK for 93.3 keV E2 transition agrees closely with the theoretical value. These results are in close agreement with the previous measurements ofEdwards andBoehm. The present experimental αK for the 501-keV transition agrees closely with the theoretical αK for an E3 multipolarity.  相似文献

An isomeric state of Hf177 withT 1/2=(1,12±0,10)s was found by a fast chemical separation of the hafnium daughter from the 155d Lu177m activity. We measured the same half-life by observing the delayedβ-γ-coincidences. A systematic investigation of the whole region 5s≧T 1/2≧10?7s by the technique of delayed coincidences gave no further isomerism. We assign the observed half-life to the 23/2 three particle state of Hf177 at 1315 keV and assume that the second hypothetical three particle state at 1337 keV does not exist. The 21/2 rotational state of theK=9/2 band is populated by a strongly converted 14,16 keVγ-transition from the isomeric state at 1315 keV. The 14,16 keVM I andN I conversion lines were observed by use of a double focusing magneticβ-spectrometer. The isomerism is caused by theK-selection rule. The retardation of the following threeγ-transitions by different degrees ofK-forbiddeness is discussed. The pulse height spectrum, measured by means of a Li-drifted Ge-detector, does not show the 36,52 keV-γ-transition which was previously assumed to populate the 1301keV-state. In addition to the knownγ-transitions we found a 40,9 keV-line. This is probably the transition between the 1301,1 keV and the 1260,3 keV-states.  相似文献

Theγ-radiation of the nuclear isomer Ir191m (T 1/2=4.5 sec) has been investigated with the aid of a scintillation fast-slow coincidence-spectrometer. Theγ-rays of the 42 keV-transition have been measured for the first time. The conversion coefficient α of this transition was found to be α = 13500 +21100 ?5200 in acceptable agreement with the value taken from the tables ofRose under the assumption of anE3-transition. Thus this assignment proposed earlier by other authors has been confirmed. TheK-conversion coefficient of the 129 keV-transition has been remeasured yielding α K =2.32±0.06.  相似文献

Isomeric ratios of 179Hf m2,g yields in the (γ, n) reaction and the cross section for the 179Hf m2 population in the (α, p) reaction are measured for the first time at the end-point energies of 15.1 and 17.5 MeV for bremsstrahlung photons and 26 MeV for alpha particles. The results are σ = (1.1 ± 0.11) × 10?27 cm2 for the 176Lu(α, p)179Hf m2 reaction and Y m2/Y g = (6.1 ± 0.3) × 10?6 and (3.7 ± 0.2) × 10?6 for the 180Hf(γ, n)179Hf m22 reaction at Е ep =15.1 and 17.5 MeV, respectively. The experimental data on the relative 179Hf m2 yield indicate a single-humped shape of the excitation function for the 180Hf(γ, n)179Hf m2 reaction. Simulation is performed using the TALYS-1.4 and EMPIRE-3.2 codes.  相似文献

The decay of Xe131m was investigated in order to detect nuclear double decay processes, in which the transition energy is distributed either between twoγ-quanta or between oneγ-quantum and oneK-conversion electron or between twoK-conversion electrons. By analyzing the emittedγ-radiation in a two-dimensional way an upper limit of 2.2 · 10?5 was derived for the ratio of theγγ- toγ-transition probability. An investigation of theγ-spectrum in coincidence withK-quanta yielded an upper limit of 3 · 10?2 for the rate ofe Kγ-transitions relative toγ-transitions. The simultaneous emission of twoK-quanta was actually observed. These doubleK-quanta result either from the doubleK-conversion that was sought or from the internal conversion of the internal Compton-effect. For the doubleK-electron emission toγ-emission probability a value of (3.6±0.7) · 10?3 was obtained. TheK-conversion coefficient and the half-life of Xe131m were measured to be 32.1±0.4 and 11.94±0.04 d, respectively.  相似文献

Hg199m was produced from natural HgO by fastn irradiation. The cascade decay was investigated with scintillation spectrometers by application of the summing technique. The following results were obtained: half-lifeT 1/2=(43±0,5) min; energy of the isomeric transitionE γ1=(375±3)keV; conversion coefficients α K375=3,05±0,25; αtotal=5,45±0,25; yielding the multipole order of the isomeric transition to beM4+(25±15)%E5; energy of the second transitionE γ2=(159±2)keV; conversion coefficients α K159=0,30±0,03; αtotal=0,9±0,1, confirming the multipolarityE2 of this transition.  相似文献

Theγ-radiation of Au195m , Hg195m and Hg195 was measured with a Ge(Li)-semiconductor detector. Conversion coefficients of most transitions could be determined from the measuredγ-intensities and from already known electron intensities. Spin and parity of the corresponding niveaus and logft-values for the decay of Hg195 and Hg195m were determined. Newγ-energies (698 keV, 754 keV, 852 keV) were found in the decay of Hg195m . With a coincidence method a value of αtot=13±3 for the 61,5 keV-radiation of Au195m was measured.  相似文献

The internalK-conversion coefficients of the 331, 431, 815 and 933 keV transitions following the decay of La140 have been determined absolutely by the method of comparing internal and external conversion lines measured in a double — focusing beta — ray spectrometers. TheK-internal conversion coefficients of the 4+→2+ 487 keV transition in Ce140 was used to normalize relativeK-electron and gamma-ray intensities for these transitions. The results obtained are:α K (331)=0.04432±0.00471,α K (431)=0.28110±0.02913,α K (815)=0.00396±0.00043,α K (933)=0.00282±0.00031. Multipolarity assignments based on these values are suggested. The 815 keV transition is found to be pure magnetic dipole character in good agreement with the theoretical values calculated bySliv andBand. The 331 and 933 keV transitions are proved to have magnetic dipole character withE2/M1 equal 0.2852±0.0143 and 0.1750±0.0088 respectively. The 431 keV transition was found to have magnetic octupole character. The results obtained are most consistent with the assignment 2+, 4+, 2+, 3+ and 1+ for the 1597, 2084, 2184, 2410 and 2515 keV levels respectively.  相似文献

Co60m was produced by the reaction Co59 (n,γ) Co60m ; its decay has been investigated by scintillation spectrometers. The half-period has been remeasured yielding a value ofT 1/2=(10·35 ±0·20) min. The isomeric decay mainly leads to the Co60 ground state by a (58·6±0·6) keV transition. TheK-conversion coefficientα K= 41±3 and the total conversion coefficientα=47±3 indicate the transition to beM3 and the spin of Co60m to be 2+. Further Co60m decays by beta transitions to Ni60. The beta component (8·6±1·2)·10?3%, log ft=7·32 leading to a (2·16±0·02) MeV level has been measured for the first time. A second component (0·24±0·03)%, log ft=7·23 leads to the 1·33 MeV level. The 2·16 MeV level decays to the Ni60 ground state mainly by a 0·83–1·33 MeV cascade, in a few cases by a direct transition. The spin of the 2·16 MeV level is 2+. Zr90m was produced by the reaction Zr90 (n,n′) Zr90m . The half-period was measured yielding a value ofT 1/2=(0·83±0·03) sec. Zr90m decays in the following way: (77±5) % by a direct (2·31±0·02) MeV —E 5 transition to the Zr ground state and (23±5)% by a (132·5±1·5) keV-(2·18±0·03) MeV cascade detected for the first time in the isomeric decay. TheK-conversion coefficient of the 132·5 keV transition isα k=(2·2±0·3) indicating this transition to beE3 and the spin of the 2·18 MeV level to be 2+. The Zr90m -decay sheme is in accordance with the level sequence of Zr90 as measured in the Nb90 decay.  相似文献

In the decay of J128 the intensity of a weak positron activity was measured to be (3.1±0.7)·10?5 per disintegration. The remeasurement of the totalK capture was found to be 0.059±0.007 in agreement with the results of other authors. From this theK/β +-ratio of the decay to the ground state of Te128 is 1800±400. Theoretical calculations ofK/β + for allowed transitions show that the maximum energy of the positrons is 245±12 keV. In the decay of Rh104 and Lu176m no positrons more than 5·10?6 could be detected.  相似文献

Co58m , Co58g and Co55 were obtained by radiating nickel-foiles with deuterons of energies 11,5 MeV and 2,07 MeV. The γ-radiation was measured with NaJ scintillation spectrometers. For the isomeric transition of Co58m was determinedT 1/2=(9.15±0.1)h,T γ=(25±1)keV,α K=2200±300 and αL+M=1100±300. From these values it follows, that the radiation is ofM3-type. Twoγ-energies of 95 keV and 1322 keV were found belonging to Co55.  相似文献

Theβ-ray spectrum of Cs137 has been measured with an iron-free spectrometer. The energy of the soft component was found to beE 0=514±2 keV. The parameterk of the hard-component shape factorC 2VA (2) (W)=q 2+kp 2 was determined to bek=0.015±0.004. Theβ intensities amount to 6.5% (hard component) and 93.5% (soft component). TheK conversion coefficient of the isomeric transition was measured to beα K=0.093±0.003, in excellent agreement withSliv's theoretical value.  相似文献

Conversion coefficients for the E1 and M1 transitions in the 44Ti decay have been measured with high accuracy using the sum peak and multidimensional coincidence methods. The following values have been obtained: αK(E1) = 0.077 ± 0.003 and αK(M1) = 0.014 ± 0.001. A significant contribution of the penetration effects for the M1 transition has been shown. The penetration parameter λ is determined to be ?260 ± 30 has been determined.  相似文献

The wavelengths of severalKα x-rays emitted from elements in and neighboring the rare earth region which were contained in radioactive sources have been determined with the two-meter quartz bent-crystal spectrometer at the California Institute of Technology. The results of the measurements in XU are the following: SmKα2, 313·043; SmKα1, 308·390; EuKα2, 302·477; EuKα1, 297·824; GdKα2, 292·432; GdKα1, 287·746; TmKα2, 248·592; TmKα1, 243·859; YbKα2, 240·934; YbKα1, 236·184; LuKα2, 233·610; LuKα1, 228·834; HfKα2, 226·605; HfKα1, 221·805. The estimated maximal error for each measurement is ±0·015 XU. From comparing the present measurements with precise measurements of the corresponding x-rays from the naturally occurring elements, it can be concluded that there are no observable shifts in the x-rays from the radioactive sources within 0·017 XU. An upper limit of 2·5 eV is obtained for an observable shift due to the isotope shift or the isomeric shift in the GdKα x-rays from a radioactive Eu source. Upper limits for the observation of shifts due to the isomeric shift in theKα x-rays of 2·5 eV for Sm and of 4 eV for Tm and Lu are also obtained.  相似文献

Half-life,P L /P K -capture ratio andβ-spectrum of Tl204 were studied with a scintillation spectrometer. To avoid source absorption and scattering troubles, the Tl204 source was built in in the lattice of NaJ(Tl)-crystals. The half-life measurements were performed over a period of 2,2 years, and we obtained a half-life of 3.81±0.04 years. TheP L /P K -capture ratio was determined at 0.41±0.03. This ratio gives a desintegration energy of 442 ?24 +30 keV for the unique first forbidden electron capture decay of Tl204. For the branching ratio of electron capture toβ ?-decay we found a value of (2.15±0.06)% and for the ratio ofK-capture toβ ?-decay a value of (1.53±0.05)%. Theβ ?-spectrum of Tl204 was measured from 200 down to 6 keV and yields an experimental shape factor which deviates below an energy of ~90 keV from the theoretical shape factorq 2 L 0+9L 1. Reasons for this deviation which is opposite to the one obtained with magnetic spectrometers are discussed.  相似文献

Using scintillation spectrometers and coincidence techniques the decay of Nb94 m has been investigated. TheK-shell conversion coefficient of the 41.5 keV isomeric transition was found to be 570±100 indicating aM 3 transition. The maximum energy of theβ-decay to the 0.87 MeV level of Mo94 is (1.15±0.03) MeV occurring (4·5±0·7)×10?3 per disintegration, anotherβ-decay to the 1.57 MeV level was found to be (4·0±1·3)×10?5. From this the parities and spins of the levels involved in the decay of Nb94 m are determined.  相似文献

The decay scheme of Er171 (7.8 h) has been reinvestigated by means of an electron-gamma coincidence spectrometer and a scintillation spectrometer with a transistorized RIDL-400 channel analyser. A careful unfolding of the high energy region of the gamma-ray spectrum revealed the presence of photopeaks at energies of approximately 371, 404, 543, 572, 618, 675, 738, 796, 869, 910 and 962 keV. The existence of 32 transitions in Tm171 was confirmed. Also, it is proved that the 277, 362 keV transitions are in coincidence with the 210 keV and that the 175 keV transition is in coincidence with the 86 keV transition. We revealed the doubt for the existence of the 166, 210, 236, 277 and 419 keV transitions. From coincidence and single counting rates the followingK-conversion coefficients of the 111, 116, 124, 296 and 308 keV transitions were determined to be: α K (111)=1.561±0.062, α K (116)=0.699±0.035, α K (124)=0.608±0.024, α K (296)=0.0197±0.0010, α K (308)=0.0183±0.0009, which give the 116, 124 keV transitions an electric quadrupole character; the 111 keV transition a magnetic dipole character withE2/M1 equal 0.4528; and the 296, 308 keV transitions an electric dipole character withM2/E1 equal 0.0058 and 0.0071 respectively.  相似文献
