Analysis of the optical spectrum of Tb I confirms the conclusion reached byBender, Penselin andSchlüpmann from atomic beam magnetic resonance observations, that the lowest multiplet in the 4f 85d6s 2 configuration is8 G. The lowest level, however, is not8 G 15/2, but8 G 13/2, which is the true ground level of the Tb atom, provided the determination of the relative position of 4f 96s 2 6 H 15/2 with respect to 4f 85d6s 2 8 G 15/2 byBender c. s. is correct.  相似文献

In an atomic beam magnetic resonance experiment on Tb159 ΔF=0 transitions in several hfs-levels of thermally excited fine structure states have been observed. Detailed analysis of data showed twoJ=15/2 states, oneJ=13/2, oneJ=11/2, and, probably, oneJ=9/2 state to be present. For these levelsg J-values are given. It was concluded that the ground state of neutral terbium is 4f 8 5d 6s 2 8 G 15/2. The 4f 9 6s 2 6 H 15/2-level lies not more than 1000 cm?1 higher.  相似文献

The double-resonance method has been used to measure the hyperfinestructure of the 52 P 3/2-term in the potassium I-spectrum, using a sample enriched in theK 40 isotope. The interaction constants ofK 40 have been determined to beA 40=?(2.450±0.046) MHz andB 40=?(1.31±0.33) MHz. From these the electric quadrupolmoment has been calculated to be
$$Q(K^{40} ) = - (0 \cdot 093 \pm 0 \cdot 025) \cdot 10^{ - 24} cm^2 .$$  相似文献

The resonance fluorescence of the transition 5d 2 D 5/2?5p 2 P 3/2 (λ=3256Å) in the In I-spectrum was observed as a function of an external magnetic field. From the level crossing signals the following values of the hyperfine constantsA andB of the 5d 2 D 5/2-state were deduced: ¦A¦=148(8) Mc/sec·g J/1.2 and ¦B/A¦≦0.3. The widths of the signals yielded the mean lifetimet=7.1 (6)·10?9 sec · 1.2/g J . From the shifts of the signals caused by a constant electric field parallel to the magnetic field the value of the Stark parameter ¦β¦=0.19(4) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2 ·g J /1.2 and the sign of the ratioA/β<0 were determined. Calculations with Coulomb wave functions show that the Stark shifts of the electric field are mainly due to admixtures of the 6p 2 P 3/2-state.  相似文献

Observing the resonance fluorescence of the transition 7d 2 D 3/2-6p 2 P 1/2 (λ=2379 Å) in the Tl I-spectrum the level crossing technique with combined electric and magnetic fields was used to investigate the hyperfine structure and the Stark effect of the 7d 2 D 3/2-state. For electric field strengthsE?25 kV/cm the Stark shifts are considerably greater than the hyperfine splitting. Therefore the crossing signals for the case of decoupled hyperfine structure could be detected. The following values of the magnetic hyperfine constantA and the Stark parameterβ were deduced: ¦A¦=55(1) Mc/sec·g J /0.8, ¦β¦=0.20(4) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2·g J /0.8 andA/β>0. The widths of the signals yielded the mean lifetimeτ=2.7(5)·10?8 sec· 0.8/g J . Sign and values ofA andβ are discussed.  相似文献

Level-crossing technique applying parallel electric and magnetic fields has been used to investigate the influence of an electric fieldE z on the hyperfine structure of the 4p 2 P 3/2-state. The Stark shift of the level-crossing nearH z =155 Oe and the modification of the magnetic zero-field level-crossing signal due to the electric fieldE z was observed. The lifetime of the 3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2 state of Cu has been determined with optical double resonance by observation of radiofrequency transitions ΔF=0, Δm F =±1 between hfs-Zeeman levels of the stable odd isotopes. The result is τ(3d 9 4s 4p 4 P 3/2, Cu)=3.18(16)·10?7 sec.  相似文献

The absolute intensity of a vacuum sliding spark (length 2–10 cm, half cycle 0,8 μsec) has been measured in the spectral region between 0,4 and 3μ. From the long wavelength radiation emitted from an optically thick layer, one gets the temperature, from the short wavelength radiation emitted from an optically thin layer, one obtains the density. Using polyethylene as an insulator we reached a temperature of 4·105 °K at electron densities of 8·1018 cm?3 and current densities of 1.2·106 A/cm2. The temporal development of temperature and density has been determined. The maximum intensity at λ=0.43 μ was found to be 5·104 (7·1010 W/cm3 ster) as large as that of the positive crater of a properly driven carbon arc. At λ=3 μ this same parameter turned out to be 300 times as large (5·107 W/cm3 ster).  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the 62 P 1/2-state of133Cs has been measured by optical double resonance in a strong magnetic field. From the positions of the magnetic dipole transitionsδm J =±1,δm I =0 theg J -factorg J(62 P 1/2)=0.66590(9) and the magnetic hfs-coupling constanta(62 P 1/2)=291.90(12) MHz could be derived.  相似文献
