利用Fan和Liang(Fan Z Y,Liang H Z 2019 Phys.

This paper deals in the thermodynamic properties of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet and Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet black holes. It exhibits the various stable and unstable phases of the black holes in these two modified gravity theories. In the first section, that reveals the various aspects of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black holes, we chose to study the changes in the Hawking Temperature with variations in the radius of event horizon (r) and charge (Q); and tried to justify them physically. Secondly in case of Einstein-Yang-Mills-Gauss-Bonnet black holes, we have attempted to compare the changes in the various thermodynamic parameters with varying r and Q; with the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black holes at a macroscopic level. Here we have considered the Yang Mills tensor, electromagnetic Lagrangian added to the action integrand. Again this very work deals in drawing out the similarities between these two types of black holes, thereby throwing some light on the aspect of black hole stability. Later we have also introspected the effects of the Gauss-Bonnet coupling parameter α, whose function (6αr), is added as a correction term to the black hole entropy. We have especially focused on what changes does it have upon the nature of the plots as to whether it enhances or reduces the effect of Q on the behavior of the curves. Finally this paper has also kept an eye at estimating the stability domains of the black holes described in these two gravity theories.  相似文献

We present and contrast two distinct ways of including extremal black holes in a Lorentzian Hamiltonian quantization of spherically symmetric Einstein-Maxwell theory. First, we formulate the classical Hamiltonian dynamics with boundary conditions appropriate for extremal black holes only. The Hamiltonian contains no surface term at the internal infinity, for reasons related to the vanishing of the extremal hole surface gravity, and quantization yields a vanishing black hole entropy. Second, we give a Hamiltonian quantization that incorporates extremal black holes as a limiting case of nonextremal ones, and examine the classical limit in terms of wave packets. The spreading of the packets, even the ones centered about extremal black holes, is consistent with continuity of the entropy in the extremal limit, and thus with the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy even for the extremal holes. The discussion takes place throughout within Lorentz-signature spacetimes.  相似文献

It has recently been pointed out that, under certain conditions, the energy of particles accelerated by black holes in the center-of-mass frame can become arbitrarily high. In this paper, we study the collision of two particles in the case of four-dimensional charged nonrotating, extremal charged rotating and near-extremal charged rotating Kaluza-Klein black holes as well as the naked singularity case in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory. We find that the center-of-mass energy for a pair of colliding particles is unlimited at the horizon of charged nonrotating Kaluza-Klein black holes, extremal charged rotating Kaluza-Klein black holes and in the naked singularity case.  相似文献

Supermassive black holes exist in the centers of galaxies, including Milky Way, but there is no compelling theory of their formation. Furthermore, observations of quasars imply that supermassive black holes have already existed at some very high redshifts, suggesting the possibility of their primordial origin. In a class of well-motivated models, inflationary epoch could include two or more periods of inflation dominated by different scalar fields. The transition between such periods of inflation could enhance the spectrum of density perturbations on some specific scale, which could lead to formation of primordial black holes with a very narrow range of masses of the order of 105 solar masses. These primordial black holes could have provided the requisite seeds for the observed population of supermassive black holes.  相似文献

We construct generalizations of the Kerr black holes by including higher-curvature corrections in the form of the Gauss-Bonnet density coupled to the dilaton. We show that the domain of existence of these Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet-dilaton (EGBD) black holes is bounded by the Kerr black holes, the critical EGBD black holes, and the singular extremal EGBD solutions. The angular momentum of the EGBD black holes can exceed the Kerr bound. The EGBD black holes satisfy a generalized Smarr relation. We also compare their innermost stable circular orbits with those of the Kerr black holes and show the existence of differences which might be observable in astrophysical systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we first obtain the higher-dimen-sional dilaton–Lifshitz black hole solutions in the presence of Born–Infeld (BI) electrodynamics. We find that there are two different solutions for the cases of \(z=n+1\) and \(z\ne n+1\) where z is the dynamical critical exponent and n is the number of spatial dimensions. Calculating the conserved and thermodynamical quantities, we show that the first law of thermodynamics is satisfied for both cases. Then we turn to the study of different phase transitions for our Lifshitz black holes. We start with the Hawking–Page phase transition and explore the effects of different parameters of our model on it for both linearly and BI charged cases. After that, we discuss the phase transitions inside the black holes. We present the improved Davies quantities and prove that the phase transition points shown by them are coincident with the Ruppeiner ones. We show that the zero temperature phase transitions are transitions in the radiance properties of black holes by using the Landau–Lifshitz theory of thermodynamic fluctuations. Next, we turn to the study of the Ruppeiner geometry (thermodynamic geometry) for our solutions. We investigate thermal stability, interaction type of possible black hole molecules and phase transitions of our solutions for linearly and BI charged cases separately. For the linearly charged case, we show that there are no phase transitions at finite temperature for the case \( z\ge 2\). For \(z<2\), it is found that the number of finite temperature phase transition points depends on the value of the black hole charge and there are not more than two. When we have two finite temperature phase transition points, there is no thermally stable black hole between these two points and we have discontinuous small/large black hole phase transitions. As expected, for small black holes, we observe finite magnitude for the Ruppeiner invariant, which shows the finite correlation between possible black hole molecules, while for large black holes, the correlation is very small. Finally, we study the Ruppeiner geometry and thermal stability of BI charged Lifshtiz black holes for different values of z. We observe that small black holes are thermally unstable in some situations. Also, the behavior of the correlation between possible black hole molecules for large black holes is the same as for the linearly charged case. In both the linearly and the BI charged cases, for some choices of the parameters, the black hole system behaves like a Van der Waals gas near the transition point.  相似文献

Astrophysical tests of general relativity belong to two categories: 1) “internal”, i.e. consistency tests within the theory (for example, tests that astrophysical black holes are indeed described by the Kerr solution and its perturbations), or 2) “external”, i.e. tests of the many proposed extensions of the theory. I review some ways in which astrophysical black holes can be used as natural laboratories for both “internal” and “external” tests of general relativity. The examples provided here (ringdown tests of the black hole “no-hair” theorem, bosonic superradiant instabilities in rotating black holes and gravitational-wave tests of massive scalar-tensor theories) are shamelessly biased towards recent research by myself and my collaborators. Hopefully this colloquial introduction aimed mainly at astrophysicists will convince skeptics (if there are any) that space-based detectors will be crucial to study fundamental physics through gravitational-wave observations.  相似文献

The Randall-Sundrum (RS-II) braneworld cosmological model with a fraction of the total energy density in primordial black holes is considered. Due to their 5d geometry, these black holes undergo modified Hawking evaporation. It is shown that during the high-energy regime, accretion from the surrounding radiation bath is dominant compared to evaporation. This effect increases the mass of the black holes till the onset of matter (or black hole) domination of the total energy density. Thus black holes with even very small initial masses could survive till several cosmologically interesting eras.  相似文献

General relativity contains solutions in which two distant black holes are connected through the interior via a wormhole, or Einstein‐Rosen bridge. These solutions can be interpreted as maximally entangled states of two black holes that form a complex EPR pair. We suggest that similar bridges might be present for more general entangled states. In the case of entangled black holes one can formulate versions of the AMPS(S) paradoxes and resolve them. This suggests possible resolutions of the firewall paradoxes for more general situations.  相似文献

LHC is expected to be a top quark factory. If the fundamental Planck scale is near a TeV, then we also expect the top quarks to be produced from black holes via Hawking radiation. In this Letter we calculate the cross sections for top quark production from black holes at the LHC and compare it with the direct top quark cross section via parton fusion processes at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). We find that the top quark production from black holes can be larger or smaller than the pQCD predictions at NNLO depending upon the Planck mass and black hole mass. Hence the observation of very high rates for massive particle production (top quarks, Higgs or supersymmetry) at the LHC may be an useful signature for black hole production.  相似文献

In this work, we study the evolution of primordial black holes within the context of Brans–Dicke theory by considering the presence of a dark energy component with a super-negative equation of state, called phantom energy, as a background. Besides Hawking evaporation, here we consider two types of accretion—radiation accretion and phantom energy accretion. We found that radiation accretion increases the lifetime of primordial black holes whereas phantom accretion decreases the lifespan of primordial black holes. Investigating the competition between the radiation accretion and phantom accretion, we found that there is an instant during the matter-dominated era beyond which phantom accretion dominates radiation accretion. So the primordial black holes which are formed in the later part of radiation-dominated era and in matter-dominated era are evaporated at a quicker rate than by Hawking evaporation. But for presently evaporating primordial black holes, radiation accretion and Hawking evaporation terms are dominant over the phantom accretion term and hence presently evaporating primordial black holes are not much affected by phantom accretion.  相似文献

In this Letter we investigate the impact of modified dispersion relations (MDR) on (Anti)de Sitter–Schwarzschild black holes. In this context we find the temperature of black holes can be derived with important corrections. In particular given a specific MDR the temperature has a maximal value such that it can prevent black holes from total evaporation. The entropy of the (A)dS black holes is also obtained with a logarithmic correction.  相似文献

The work on black holes immersed in external fields is reviewed in both test-field approximation and within exact solutions. In particular we pay attention to the effect of the expulsion of the flux of external fields across charged and rotating black holes which are approaching extremal states. Recently this effect has been shown to occur for black hole solutions in string theory. We also discuss black holes surrounded by rings and disks and rotating black holes accelerated by strings. The content corresponds to the lecture given at ICGC 2000 in Kharagpur. Sections 2–6 are based on the text of the lecture on ‘Electromagnetic fields around black holes and Meissner effect’ given at the 3rd ICRA workshop in Pescara 1999 (to be published with T Ledvinka in Nuovo Cimento).  相似文献

The area spectra of extreme Kerr and nearly extreme Kerr–Newmann black holes are investigated from quasinormal modes via Maggiore’s physical interpretation of quasinormal modes. Using the first law of black hole thermodynamics and the action variable quantization, we arrive at consistent equally spaced area and entropy spectra. Results show that the spectra are irrelevant to the parameters of the black holes and the perturbation fields, which fully agree with Bekensteins original conjecture. In the calculations, we have defined the corresponding Hawking temperatures of the black holes following the suggestion of Mäkelä et al. to avoid the zero temperature and to guarantee the (nearly-) extreme black holes quantizable.  相似文献

The Euler problem with two fixed point masses and one moving mass is reconsidered in the light of general relativity. The scattering of a particle by two fixed black holes is shown to be strongly chaotic. Two neutral black holes have been used for the study. The particle trajectories have been computed numerically using a modified muffin tin approximation. A plot of the scattering angle against impact parameter showing distinct signs of chaos is presented. (c) 1996 American Institute of Physics.  相似文献

We study the influence of supermassive black holes on the distribution of stars at the centers of galaxies. We analyze relaxation processes associated with encounters between stars and their absorption by black holes. For an isothermal distribution of stars, we obtain the growth law and estimate the current masses of black holes. The tidal disruption of stars near black holes is considered as a possible cause of the activity of galactic nuclei.  相似文献

We consider the conserved charge of static black holes with squashed horizons in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory via both the Abbott-Deser-Tekin(ADT)method and its off-shell generalization. We Grst make use of the original ADT method to compute the mass of the dilaton squashed black holes in terms of three different reference spacetimes, which are the asymptotic geometry, the flat background and the spacetime of the KaluzaKlein monopole with boundary matched to the original metric, respectively. Each mass satisfies the Grst law of black hole thermodynamics, although the mass computed on the basis of the boundary matching the KaluzaKlein monopole is different from that of the other two reference spacetimes. Then the mass of the black holes is evaluated through the off-shell generalized ADT method.  相似文献

Supermassive black holes at the centres of galaxies have long been thought to be the engines of quasars, which emit more energy than any other sources in the Universe. In the local Universe, dormant supermassive black holes have been detected through the motions of stars and gas near the galactic centres. In the distant Universe, high energy X-ray observations are now revealing the accretion of matter onto supermassive black holes, even when the black holes are highly obscured by gas and dust. Great advances are being made in obtaining a cosmic census of supermassive black holes. The duration, times, and mass inflow rates to these black holes are being traced via multiwavelength follow-up observations with ground-based telescopes and a time history of the accretion is thereby being reconstructed.  相似文献
