For continuous functions specified on the Baire space, conditions for the representability of a function of several variables as a superposition of functions of a smaller number of variables are considered. With the use of linear functions of the form (1+α)t, a boundary value of the modulus of continuity separating the positive from the negative solution of the problem is found. For the case in which the problem has a negative solution, a constructive method for obtaining (n+1)-variable continuous functions with modulus of continuity ϕ(t) that are not representable as superposition ofn-variable continuous functions with the same modulus of continuity ϕ(t) is suggested. Some structural properties as well as a general three-dimensional boundary value problem for normally hyperbolic systems of partial differential equations of first order are studied. A condition is given which enables one to reduce the system under consideration to a first-order system with the spliced principal part. It is shown that the initial problem is correct in a certain class of functions if some conditions are fulfilled.  相似文献

It has been treated as a difficult problem to find iterative roots of non-monotonic functions. For some PM functions which do not increase the number of forts under iteration a method was given to obtain a non-monotonic iterative root by extending a monotone iterative root from the characteristic interval. In this paper we prove that every continuous iterative root is an extension from the characteristic interval and give various modes of extension for those iterative roots of PM functions.  相似文献

Override and update are natural constructions for combining partial functions, which arise in various program specification contexts. We prove the converse of the trace theorem for the functions of the Sobolev spaces W p l on a Carnot group on the regular closed subsets called Ahlfors d-sets (the direct trace theorem was obtained in one of our previous publications). The theorem generalizes Johnsson and Wallin’s results for Sobolev functions on the Euclidean space. As a consequence we give a theorem on the boundary values of Sobolev functions on a domain with smooth boundary in a two-step Carnot group. We consider an example of application of the theorems to solvability of the boundary value problem for one partial differential equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider extremal oscillatory properties of functions with bounded spectrum, i.e., with bounded support (in the sense of distributions) of the Fourier transform. For such functions f, we give criteria of extendability of }f} from the real axis to a function F on the complex plane with derivatives F (m) having no real zeros and without enlarging the width of spectrum. In particular, we give examples of functions $f$ from the real Paley–Wiener space such that every function f (m), m=0, 1,..., has a finite number of real zeros.  相似文献

The work presents an adaptation of iteration method for solving a class of thirst order partial nonlinear differential equation with mixed derivatives.The class of partial differential equations present here is not solvable with neither the method of Green function, the most usual iteration methods for instance variational iteration method, homotopy perturbation method and Adomian decomposition method, nor integral transform for instance Laplace,Sumudu, Fourier and Mellin transform. We presented the stability and convergence of the used method for solving this class of nonlinear chaotic equations.Using the proposed method, we obtained exact solutions to this kind of equations.  相似文献

In this paper, the unique solvability, Fredholm property, and the principle of limiting absorption are proved for a boundary value problem for the system of Maxwell's equations in a semi‐infinite rectangular cylinder coupled with a layer by an aperture of arbitrary shape. Conditions at infinity are taken in the form of the Sveshnikov–Werner partial radiation conditions. The method of solution employs Green's functions of the partial domains and reduction to vector pseudodifferential equations considered in appropriate vectorial Sobolev spaces. An analogue of Krein's extension theorem is proved for operator-valued positive definite functions on free groups. The proof gives also the parametrization of all extensions by means of a generalized type of Szegö parameters. One singles out a distinguished completion, called central, which is related to quasi-multiplicative positive definite functions. In this paper we consider the applicability of the Fourier method for partial differential equations on spatial grids (we choose a bundle graph as a model). This leads to an important problem, namely, to the expansion of a given function in eigenfunctions of the corresponding Sturm-Liouville problem on a grid. We study a model problem which describes a symmetric case, when one considers physically identical one-dimensional continuums on the bundle graph. Such problems arise, for example, in the modeling of oscillating processes of an elastic mast with supporting elastic ties.  相似文献

We introduce a class of continuous completely regular functions satisfying the N-property. We obtain a decomposition of an arbitrary continuous function into the sum of two functions the first of which is completely regular and the second does not enjoy the N-property. We define a class of strongly regular Borel functions for which we prove the Luzin N-property. We demonstrate that the image of every Lebesgue measurable set of a strongly regular function is measurable. From an arbitrary Borel function we extract a strongly regular function and a function that does not enjoy the N-property.  相似文献

本文利用H变换和Stockes变换.导出双变量函数及其编导数在闭区间上完整的双级数表达式,从而求得弹性力学中有限长圆柱体的轴对称问题的一般解析解.文中以轴向拉伸圆柱体为例,考虑不同的外力作用区域,分析了圆柱体上位移和应力的分布.本文所提的方法具有一般性.可以用来求解其它学科领域中有关柱坐标的轴对称边值问题.  相似文献

In this work, the method of radial basis functions is used for finding the solution of an inverse problem with source control parameter. Because a much wider range of physical phenomena are modelled by nonclassical parabolic initial-boundary value problems, theoretical behavior and numerical approximation of these problems have been active areas of research. The radial basis functions (RBF) method is an efficient mesh free technique for the numerical solution of partial differential equations. The main advantage of numerical methods which use radial basis functions over traditional techniques is the meshless property of these methods. In a meshless method, a set of scattered nodes are used instead of meshing the domain of the problem. The results of numerical experiments are presented and some comparisons are made with several well-known finite difference schemes.  相似文献
