On non-Kähler manifolds the notion of harmonic maps is modified to that of Hermitian harmonic maps in order to be compatible with the complex structure. The resulting semilinear elliptic system is not in divergence form. The case of noncompact complete preimage and target manifolds is considered. We give conditions for existence and uniqueness of Hermitian-harmonic maps and solutions of the corresponding parabolic system, which observe the non-divergence form of the underlying equations. Numerous examples illustrate the theoretical results and the fundamental difference to harmonic maps.Support from the research focus Globale Methoden in der komplexen Geometrie under the auspices of Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft is gratefully acknowledged.Acknowledgement We are grateful to Wolf von Wahl (University of Bayreuth) for his suggestion to investigate Hermitian-harmonic maps on noncompact manifolds.Dedicated to Prof. E. We establish a volume decreasing result for V-harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds. We apply this result to obtain corresponding results for Weyl harmonic maps from conformal Weyl manifolds to Riemannian manifolds. We also obtain corresponding results for holomorphic maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to quasi-Kähler manifolds, which generalize or improve the partial results in Goldberg and Har’El (Bull Soc Math Grèce 18(1):141–148, 1977, J Differ Geom 14(1):67–80, 1979).  相似文献

Contact toric manifolds of Reeb type are a subclass of contact toric manifolds which have the property that they are classified by the images of the associated moment maps. We compute their first and second homotopy group terms of the images of the moment map. We also explain why they are -contact.

Summary We prove several Liouville theorems for harmonic maps between certain classes of Riemannian manifolds. In particular, the results can be applied to harmonic maps from the Euclidean space (R m ,g 0) to a large class of Riemannian manifolds. Our assumptions on the harmonic maps concern the asymptotic behavior of the maps at .Oblatum 28-XII-1990 & 11-II-1991Supported by NSF grant DMS-8610730  相似文献

We prove several Liouville theorems for F-harmonic maps from some complete Riemannian manifolds by assuming some conditions on the Hessian of the distance function, the degrees of F(t) and the asymptotic behavior of the maps at infinity. In particular, the results can be applied to F-harmonic maps from some pinched manifolds, and can deduce a Bernstein type result for an entire minimal graph.  相似文献

Summary We develop an interior partial regularity theory for vector valued Sobolev functions which locally minimize degenerate variational integrals under the additional side condition that all comparison maps take their values in the closure of a smooth region of the target space. Our results apply to the case of penergy minimizing mappings X Y between Riemannian manifolds including target manifolds Y with nonvoid boundary.  相似文献

We consider actions of reductive complex Lie groups \({G=K^\mathbb{C}}\) on Kähler manifolds X such that the K-action is Hamiltonian and prove then that the closures of the G-orbits are complex-analytic in X. This is used to characterize reductive homogeneous Kähler manifolds in terms of their isotropy subgroups. Moreover we show that such manifolds admit K-moment maps if and only if their isotropy groups are algebraic.  相似文献

We prove global C0,αC0,α-estimates for harmonic maps from Finsler manifolds into regular balls of Riemannian target manifolds generalizing results of Giaquinta, Hildebrandt, and Hildebrandt, Jost and Widman from Riemannian to Finsler domains. As consequences we obtain a Liouville theorem for entire harmonic maps on simple Finsler manifolds, and an existence theorem for harmonic maps from Finsler manifolds into regular balls of a Riemannian target.  相似文献

First, we generalize a rigidity result for harmonic maps of Gordon (Gordon (1972) Proc AM Math Soc 33: 433–437) to generalized pluriharmonic maps. We give the construction of generalized pluriharmonic maps from metric tt *-bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds. An application of the last two results is that any metric tt *-bundle over a compact nearly Kähler manifold is trivial (Theorem A). This result we apply to special Kähler manifolds to show that any compact special Kähler manifold is trivial. This is Lu’s theorem (Lu (1999) Math Ann 313: 711–713) for the case of compact special Kähler manifolds. Further we introduce harmonic bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds and study the implications of Theorem A for tt *-bundles coming from harmonic bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds.  相似文献

A. Borel proved that, if the fundamental group of an aspherical manifold is centerless and the outer automorphism group of is torsion-free, then admits no periodic maps, or equivalently, there are no non-trivial finite groups of homeomorphisms acting effectively on . In the literature, taking off from this result, several examples of (rather complex) aspherical manifolds exhibiting this total lack of periodic maps have been presented.

In this paper, we investigate to what extent the converse of Borel's result holds for aspherical manifolds arising from Seifert fiber space constructions. In particular, for e.g. flat Riemannian manifolds, infra-nilmanifolds and infra-solvmanifolds of type (R), it turns out that having a centerless fundamental group with torsion-free outer automorphism group is also necessary to conclude that all finite groups of affine diffeomorphisms acting effectively on the manifold are trivial. Finally, we discuss the problem of finding (less complex) examples of such aspherical manifolds with no periodic maps.

We present sequences of linear maps of vector spaces with fixed bases. Each term of a sequence is a linear space of differentials of metric values ascribed to the elements of a simplicial complex determining a triangulation of a manifold. If a sequence is an acyclic complex, then we can construct a manifold invariant using its torsion. We demonstrate this first for three-dimensional manifolds and then construct the part of this program for four-dimensional manifolds pertaining to moves 24.  相似文献

Uniqueness and stability of harmonic maps and their Jacobi fields   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Let M, N be Riemannian manifolds and let f1, f2: MN be harmonic maps. Using a maximum principle, an estimate of the distances of these maps by the distances of their boundary values will be proved. Corresponding estimates will be stated for the norm of Jacobi fields along harmonic maps, and for the distances of solutions of the heat equation.Dedicated to Hans Lewy and Charles B. In this paper we investigate the regularity of stable-stationary harmonic maps. By assuming that the target manifolds do not carry any stable harmonic , we obtain some compactness results and regularity theorems. In particular, we prove that the Hausdorff dimension of the singular set of these maps cannot exceed , and the dimension estimate is optimal.

Let be an o-minimal expansion of a real closed field R, and K be the algebraic closure of R. In earlier papers we investigated the notions of -definable K-holomorphic maps, K-analytic manifolds and their K-analytic subsets. We call such a K-manifold mild if it eliminates quantifers after endowing it with all it K-analytic subsets. Examples are compact complex manifolds and non-singular algebraic curves over K. We examine here basic properties of mild manifolds and prove that when a mild manifold M is strongly minimal and not locally modular then it is biholomorphic to a non-singular algebraic curve over K.   相似文献

A map is Kupka-Smale if all periodic points are hyperbolic and the stable and unstable manifolds of any two saddle points are transverse. Here we prove that Kupka-Smale maps form a residual set of full Lebesgue measure in the space of polynomial automorphisms of 2 of fixed dynamical degree d2. We also prove that a heteroclinic point of two saddle periodic orbits may be continued over (almost) the entire parameter space for this set of maps. This is one of the first persistence theorems proved in holomorphic dynamics in several variables.  相似文献

In this paper we consider lattice systems coupled by local interactions. We prove invariant manifold theorems for whiskered tori (we recall that whiskered tori are quasi-periodic solutions with exponentially contracting and expanding directions in the linearized system). The invariant manifolds we construct generalize the usual (strong) (un)stable manifolds and allow us to consider also non-resonant manifolds. We show that if the whiskered tori are localized near a collection of specific sites, then so are the invariant manifolds. We recall that the existence of localized whiskered tori has recently been proven for symplectic maps and flows in Fontich et al. (J Diff Equ, 2012), but our results do not need that the systems are symplectic. For simplicity we will present first the main results for maps, but we will show that the result for maps imply the results for flows. It is also true that the results for flows can be proved directly following the same ideas.  相似文献

For sufficiently small perturbations of a nonuniform exponential trichotomy, we establish the existence of $C^k$ invariant center manifolds. We consider the general case of sequences of maps, which corresponds to a nonautonomous dynamics with discrete time. In particular, we obtain optimal estimates for the decay of all derivatives along the trajectories on the center manifolds.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive Plücker formulae for holomorphic maps into the maximal flag manifolds of the complex semi-simple Lie groups. Holomorphy is taken with respect to either an invariant complex structure or an invariant almost complex structure that takes part of a \((1,2)\) -symplectic Hermitian structure. The maps are assumed to be horizontal, in the case of a complex structure or to satisfy a generalization of this hypothesis in the \((1,2)\) -symplectic case. We also provide a relationship between holomorphic-horizontal curves and equiharmonic maps.  相似文献
