Summary A rapid and accurate method is described for the potentiometric determination of uranium(IV) with permanganate at room temperature using trace amounts of ortho-phosphoric acid as a catalyst. The procedure has been extended for the differential potentiometric determination of mixtures with vanadium, manganese or cerium. The methods are easy, non-time consuming and free from interference by a large number of foreign ions. Conditions are also developed for the differential photometric determination of uranium and iron in mixtures.Based on these procedures, a differential titrimetric procedure has been developed for determination of iron(III), vanadium(V), chromium(VI) and manganese(VII) [or cerium(IV)] in a single solution at room temperature. This procedure has also been tested on Bureau of Standard samples.

The analytical determination of Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III), Sb(III), Ti(IV) and U(VI) in the presence of Fe(III) and 1 M H2SO4 are investigated using the polarographic technique. The wave corresponding to the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) was found to be completely suppressed by the addition of 1% pyrogallol. Thus, different mixtures of these elements, viz. Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (A), Cu(II), Cd(II), Sb(III), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (B), and Cu(II), Cd(II), Ti(IV), U(VI) and Fe(III)-mixture (C), were quantitatively determined using 1% pyrogallol and 1 M H2SO4 as supporting electrolyte. The i1/c results give excellent correlations in each case, as indicated from the results of leastsquares regression analysis.  相似文献

A simple method for the elements preconcentration on thin-layer paraffin-treated cellulose filters was proposed. It was found that pyrrolydinedithiocarbamates of As(III), Bi, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe(III), Ni, Pb, Se(IV), V(V) and Zn obtained after mixing of sample (3-5 ml min−1) and reagent (0.7-1.0 ml min−1) streams were quantitatively recovered from 100 ml sample. The sample acidity was adjusted to pH 4.8-5.2 for preconcentration of Cd, Co, Cu, Fe(III), Ni, Pb, V(V) and Zn, and to 2 M HCl for preconcentration of As, Bi and Se. The optimum reagent concentration was found to be 0.1%. The elements were determined on the filters by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The detection limits achieved were 0.1-4.0 μg of element on the filter. Relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) was not higher than 0.08 while determining 5-50 μg of elements on filter. Accuracy and precision of the technique proposed were evaluated by the analysis of spiked natural samples.  相似文献

Vanadium(III) obtained by dithionite reduction of vanadium(V) can be extracted as its ferron complex with tribenzylamine in chloroform from 0.05 M sulphuric acid. Vanadium (0–5 μg ml-1) is determined spectrophotometrically at 430 nm with a sensitivity of 0.0028 μg V cm-2. Al(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Fe(II, III), Hg(II), Si(IV), Be(II), Mg(II), Ca(II), Sr(II), Ba(II), Cr(VI, III), W(VI), Zn(II), U(VI), Mn(II). Pb(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Th(IV) do not interfere; only Mo(VI), Ti(IV), Zr(IV). Bi(V) and Sn(II) interfere. A single determination takes only 7 min. The extracted complex is VIII (R-3H.TBA)3 where R = C9H4O4NSI. The method is satisfactory for the determination of vanadium in steels, alum and other samples without preliminary separations.  相似文献

Poly(acryldinitrophenylamidrazone-dinitroacrylphenylhydrazine) chelating fiber was synthesized from polyacrylonitrile fiber and used for enrichment and separation for traces of Au(III), Ru(III), In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III) and Ti(IV) ions from solution samples. The acidity, rate, re-use, capacity and interference on the adsorption of ions on the chelating fiber as well as the conditions of desorption of these ions from the chelating fiber were investigated by means of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The results show that 10-100 ngml(-1) of Au(III), Ru(III), In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III) and Ti(IV) ions can be quantitatively enriched by the chelating fiber at a 2 mlmin(-1) of flow rate in the range pH 4-5, and desorbed quantitatively with 20 ml of 5 M HCl for In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III), Ti(IV) and 20 ml of 4 M HCl+2% CS(NH(2))(2) solution for Au(III), Ru(III) (with recovery>95%). 50- to 500- fold excesses of Fe(III), Al(III), Mg(II), Mn(II), Ca(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) ions cause little interference in the concentration and determination of analyzed ions. When the fiber was reused for 8 times, the recoveries of the above ions enriched by the fiber were still over 87%. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for the enrichment and determination of 10 ngml(-1) Au, Ru, In, Bi, Ga and 1 ngml(-1) Zr, V, Ti were lower than 3.0%. The results obtained for these ions in real solution samples by this method were basically in agreement with the given values with average errors of less than 6.3%. FT-IR spectra show that existence of NNCNHNH, OCNHNH and NO(2) functional groups are verified in chelating fiber, and Au(III) or Ru(III) is mainly combined with nitrogen (or oxygen) of the groups to form a chelate complex.  相似文献

The biosorption of copper(II), lead(II), iron(III) and cobalt(II) on Bacillus sphaericus-loaded Diaion SP-850 resin for preconcentration-separation of them have been investigated. The sorbed analytes on biosorbent were eluted by using 1 mol L−1 HCl and analytes were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The influences of analytical parameters including amounts of pH, B. sphaericus, sample volume etc. on the quantitative recoveries of analytes were investigated. The effects of alkaline, earth alkaline ions and some metal ions on the retentions of the analytes on the biosorbent were also examined. Separation and preconcentration of Cu, Pb, Fe and Co ions from real samples was achieved quantitatively. The detection limits by 3 sigma for analyte ions were in the range of 0.20-0.75 μg L−1 for aqueous samples and in the range of 2.5-9.4 ng g−1 for solid samples. The validation of the procedure was performed by the analysis of the certified standard reference materials (NRCC-SLRS 4 Riverine Water, SRM 2711 Montana soil and GBW 07605 Tea). The presented method was applied to the determination of analyte ions in green tea, black tea, cultivated mushroom, boiled wheat, rice and soil samples with successfully results.  相似文献

Direct and indirect potentiometric, bipotentiometric and biamperometric titrations with a standard iron(II) solution are described for some inorganic compounds in alkaline media containing hexitols (mannitol, dulcitol and sorbitol). The optimal conditions for titrations based on the Cr(VI) → Cr(III), Mn(IV) → Mn(III) → Mn(II), V(V) → V(IV), Co(III) → Co(II) and U(VI) → U(IV) systems are discussed. Of the hexitols studied, sorbitol has the greatest effect on the value of the redox potential of the Fe(III)/Fe(II) system; the Ef° value is about —1.10 V vs. SCE.  相似文献

Abstract

An indirect photometric method with a continuous-flow analysis is presented for the determination of trace amounts of vanadium(IV). It is based on the redox reaction of copper(II) with vanadium(1V) in the presence of neocuproine. In the presence of neocuproine, copper(I1) is reduced easily by vanadium(I V) to a copper(1)-neocuproine complex, which shows a n absorption maximum at 454 nm. By measuring t h e absorbance of the complex at this wavelength, vanadium(1V) in t h e range 2×10?6 - 8 × mol dm?5 mol dm?3 can be determined at a rate of 120 samples h?1. The fractional determination of vanadium(1V) and iron(I1) is also studied.  相似文献

The kinetics of the reaction between iron(II) and vanadium(V) have been investigated in the pH range 2.6–4.2 where decavanadates and VO2+ coexist in equilibrium. Under these conditions, the observed kinetic pattern is radically different from the one reported for the reaction in strong acid medium. In the pH range employed, the reaction rate is not appreciably altered by variation in the stoichiometric vanadium(V) concentration due to the operation of the equilibrium between the reactive species, VO2+, and the unreactive species, decavanadates. The reaction, however, obeys first‐order kinetics with respect to Fe(II). In the presence of salicylic acid, which imparts considerable reactivity to iron(II) by reducing the reduction potential of iron(III)/iron(II) couple by forming a stronger complex with iron(III) than iron(II), the kinetic results provide evidence for the participation of decavanadates in the electron transfer. The mechanism under both conditions is discussed. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 32: 535–541, 2000  相似文献

N-Phenylcinnarnohydroxamic acid (PCHA) reacts with iron(III) and vanadium(V) in the presence of thiocyanate to form water-insoluble orange and green complexes, respectively. The iron(III)-PCHA and vanadium(V)-PCHA-thiocyanate complexes can be quantitatively extracted into toluene and other common organic solvents at pH 1.5–2.0. The absorption spectra and composition of both complexes are described. The effects of foreign ions and of experimental variables on the extraction and determination of the two metal ions are studied. A simple, selective method is described for the simultaneous determination of iron(III) and vanadium(V) by extraction-spectrophotometry; absorbances are measured at 440 and 580 nm. Mixtures can be determined over the range 10?4–10?5 M in each metal. The method was applied successfully to the analysis of standard steels for iron and vanadium.  相似文献

Summary A new colour reaction for the detection of cerram(IV) which can be carried out both in a test tube and on a spot plate has been described. The test solution is treated with methylene blue in nitric acid solution (11) to form a rose-red colour. This simple procedure has an advantage over the existing tests in that it is applicable in the presence of oxidising agents like chromium(VI), vanadium(V), nitrate, perchlorate and of coloured ions like copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), chromium(III), iron(III), vanadium(IV), uranium(VI).

In the present paper, a simple and sensitive method is proposed for vanadium(IV) determination in the presence of vanadium(V). This is based on the oxidation of vanadium(IV) present in the sample to vanadium(V) by addition of iron(III) cation, followed by a complexation reaction of iron(II) with the spectrophotometric reagent 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (Br-PADAP). The iron(II) reacts with Br-PADAP immediately, forming a stable complex with a large molar absorptivity. The vanadium(IV) determination is possible, with a calibration sensitivity of 0.549 g ml–1, for an analytical curve of 18.8 ng ml–1 to 2.40 g ml–1, molar absorptivity of 2.80 × 104 1 mole–1 cm–1 and a detection limit of 5.5 ng ml–1. Selectivity was increased with the use of EDTA as a masking agent. The proposed method was applied for the vanadium(IV) determination in the presence of several amounts of vanadium(V). The results revealed that 200 g of vanadium(V) do not interfere with determination of 5.00 g of vanadium(IV). The precision and the accuracy obtained were satisfactory (R. S. D.<2%).  相似文献

Summary 2-Pyridylphenylacetonitrile (ppa) is oxidized by iron(III) chloride in dry ethanol to 1,2-dicyano-1,2-di(phenyl)-1,2-(2-pyridyl)ethane (dcppe). When 1,2-dichloroethane or ether are used as solvents, a 31 complex of dcppe with iron trichloride, [(FeCl3)3(dcppe)] is obtained.Titanium(IV), vanadium(IV) and chromium(III) chlorides react with ppa and dcppe, giving complexes of general formulae [MCl4(ppa)] (M = Ti or V), [CrCl3(ppa)n] (n = 2 or 3), [(MCl4)2(dcppe)] (M = Ti or V) and [CrCl3(dcppe)].  相似文献

The extraction of Ni(II), Fe(II), Fe(III) and V(IV) with bis(4-hydroxypent-2-ylidene)-diaminoethane from various acids and buffer solutions has been studied. The golden yellow Fe(II) and wine-red Fe(III) complexes have maximum absorption at 445 and 435 nm respectively, and the yellow-green Ni(II) chelate shows two maxima, at 373 and 560 nm. The blue-green V(IV) chelate also has two maxima, at 580 and 660 nm. These characteristics can be used for the determination of these species. Iron, nickel and vanadium have been separated and determined in the presence of one another and of many other elements.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxidation of bis(2,4,6-tripyridyl 1,3,5-s-triazine)iron(II) by vanadium(V), periodate and iodate has been studied in acetate buffers by stopped-flow and spectrophotometric methods. The oxidation reaction of bis(2,4,6-tripyridyl 1,3,5-s-triazine)iron(II) by vanadium(V), periodate and iodate follows first order kinetics for the substrate and oxidant. Hydrogen ion has no significant effect on the rate. A generalized mechanism was proposed for these reactions and these reactions follow the rate law: Rate = k [oxidant] [Fe(tptz)2 2+].  相似文献

An RP-HPLC method for the separation and determination of aluminium(III), vanadium(V), iron(III), copper(II) and nickel(II) with CALKS (Chromazol KS) and PAR ([4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol]) chelating on a YWG-ODS column was developed. A mixture of methanol-tetrahydrofuran(THF)-water (60:5:35 v/v) containing 0.2 mol/L LiCl, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L CALKS, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L PAR and acetate buffer solution (pH 4.9) was selected as mobile phase. The method has high sensitivity, with the detection limits being 6 ng/mL for aluminium(III), 3.5 ng/mL for vanadium(V), 10.4 ng/mL for iron(III), 6.3 ng/mL for copper(II) and 8.7 ng/mL for nickel(II). It also has good selectivity, so that most foreign metal ions do not interfere under the optimum conditions. The method can be applied to the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of aluminium, vanadium, iron, copper and nickel in rice and flour samples.  相似文献

The coprecipitation behavior of 44 elements (47 ions because of chromium(III,VI), arsenic(III,V), and antimony(III,V)) with yttrium phosphate was investigated at various pHs. Yttrium phosphate could quantitatively coprecipitate iron(III), lead, bismuth, and indium over a wide pH range; however, 18 ions, including alkali metals and oxo anions, such as vanadium(V), chromium(VI), molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI), germanium(IV), arsenic(III,V), selenium(IV), and tellurium(VI), were scarcely collected. In addition, 19 ions, including cobalt, nickel, and copper(II), were hardly coprecipitated at pHs below about 3. Based on these results, the separation of iron(III), lead, and bismuth from cobalt, nickel, and copper(II) matrices was investigated. Iron(III), lead, and bismuth ranging from 0.5 to 25 μg could be separated effectively from a solution containing 0.5 g of cobalt, nickel, or copper at pH 3.0. The separated iron(III), lead, and bismuth could be determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry using internal standardization. The detection limits (3σ, n = 7) of iron(III), lead, and bismuth were 0.008, 0.137, and 0.073 μg, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the analyses of metals and chlorides of cobalt, nickel, and copper.  相似文献

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of palladium, iron and tellurium from nitric acid media after extraction of their p-[4-(3,5-dimethylisoxazolyl)azophenylazo]calix(4)arene [DMIAPAC] complexes has been developed and possible synergistic effects have been investigated. Chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, cyclohexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, toluene and xylene were used as the diluents. The maximum enhancement was obtained in the presence of 30% 1,2-dichloroethane. The trace amounts of metals were determined spectrophotometrically. Beer’s law obeyed in the concentration range of 5.0–95.0 μg, 8.0–120.0 μg and 10.0–140.0 μg/10 mL of the final solution of palladium, iron and tellurium, respectively. The molar absorptivities (l mol?1cm?1) and Sandell’s sensitivities (μg cm ?1) were calculated: Pd(II) = 1.73 × 104 and 0.0061; Fe(III) = 1.08 × 104 and 0.0052; Te(IV) = 1.67 × 104 and 0.0077. Ten replicate analyses containing 20 μg of Pd(II), 12.5 μg of Fe(III) and 32 μg of Te(IV) gave mean absorbance of 0.326, 0.242 and 0.418 with relative standard deviation of 0.36, 0.65 and 0.82% for Pd(II), Fe(III) and Te(IV), respectively. The interference of various ions was studied and optimum conditions were developed for the determination of these metals in certain alloys and synthetic mixtures.  相似文献

A sensitive and simultaneous spectrophotometric flow injection method for the determination of vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V) is proposed. The method is based on the effect of ligands such as 2,4,6-tris(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine (TPTZ) and diphosphate on the conditional redox potential of iron(III)/iron(II) system. A four-channel flow system is assembled. In this flow system, diluted hydrochloric acid (1.0 x 10(-2) mol dm(-3)) as a carrier for standard/sample, acetate buffer (pH 5.5) as a carrier for diphosphate solution, an equimolar mixed solution of iron(III) and iron(II) and a TPTZ solution are delivered, so that the baseline absorbance can be established by forming a constant amount of iron(II)-TPTZ complex (lambda(max) = 593 nm). Vanadium(IV) and/or vanadium(V) (400 microL) and diphosphate (200 microL) solutions are simultaneously introduced into the flow system; in this system the diphosphate solution passes through a delay coil. The potential of the iron(III)/iron(II) system increases in the presence of TPTZ, and therefore vanadium(IV) is easily oxidized by iron(III) to vanadium(V) to produce an iron(II)-TPTZ complex (a positive peak for vanadium(IV) appears). On the other hand, the potential of the redox system decreases in the presence of diphosphate, so that vanadium(V) can be easily reduced by iron(II) to vanadium(IV). In this case, the amount of iron(II) decreases according to the amount of vanadium(V). As a result, the produced iron(II)-TPTZ complex decreases (a negative peak for vanadium(V) appears). In this manner, two peaks for vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V) can be alternately obtained. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) are 1.98 x 10(-7) and 2.97 x 10(-7) mol dm(-3) for vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V), respectively. The method is applied to the simultaneous determination of vanadium(IV) and vanadium(V) in commercial bottled mineral water samples.  相似文献

Heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and UO2(VI) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligands [ReO(HL1)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (a) and/or [ReO(H2L2)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (b), where H2L1?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3-ylhydrazone) and H3L2?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylhydrazone), with transition and actinide salts. Heterodinuclear complexes of ReO(V) with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) were obtained using a 1?:?1 mole ratio of the complex ligand and the metal salt. Heterotrinuclear complexes were obtained containing ReO(V) with UO2(VI) and Cu(II) using 2?:?1 mole ratios of the complex ligand and the metal salts. The complex ligands a and b coordinate with the heterometal ion via a nitrogen of the heterocyclic ring and the nitrogen atom of the C=N7 group. All transition metal cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral configurations, while UO2(VI)?complexes have distorted dodecahedral geometry. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by IR, ESR, electronic and 1H NMR spectra, magnetic moments, conductance and TG-DSC measurements. The antifungal activities of the complex ligands and their heteronuclear complexes towards Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus niger showed comparable behavior with some well-known antibiotics.  相似文献
