Based on three methods of particle identification (PID) of BES,we study the identification of p and p in momentum range from 0.3 to 1.2 GeV using real particle samples of e,μ,π,K,p and p which were collected in 2-5GeV R scan,J/(ψ) and ψ′ data taking periods. The paper presents the optimized method of PID:p(p) is identified by dE/dx only if momentum below 0.6GeV,and by TOF or the combination of dE/dx and TOF for higher momentum.The PID efficiency of p, p and contamination from the other charged particles are also given.  相似文献

Properties of secondaries associated with a high-p T charged trigger particle (3<p T <5 GeV/c) were studied for αp and αα interactions at c.m. energies \(\sqrt s = 88\) GeV and 125 GeV, respectively. Thep T distributions of secondaries in the away-jet and trigger-jet regions were compared with those for high-p T pp interactions. No statistically significant differences were seen, except at lowp T . Momentum and angular distributions of spectator and leading protons were studied as a function of charge and rapidity of the trigger hadron. The observed correlations between trigger charge and number of spectator protons provide evidence of valence quark contributions to the trigger jet.  相似文献

The cross-sections for the reactions of the strange production p + p ↦ p + Λ + K+ and p + p ↦ p + Σ0 + K+ near thresholds of the final states pΛK+ and pΣ0K+ are calculated in the effective Lagrangian approach. Our approach is based on the dominant contribution of the one-pion exchange and strong interaction of the colliding protons in the initial state. The theoretical values of the cross-sections agree reasonably well with the experimental data. The polarization properties of the Λ- and Σ0-hyperons are discussed.  相似文献

The paper presents the results on differential cross sections for elastic scattering of 7+-, K+-mesons and protons on protons in the 4-momentum transfer squared range 0·08 ¦t¦ 1·0 (GeV/c)2 and incident particle momentum of 29 and 43 GeV/c for pions and kaons and 29, 43, 50 and 65 GeV/c for protons. The measurements were taken with the spectrometer Sigma, installed in the positive beam of the IHEP accelerator.Presented by F. A. Results are presented on π+p and K+p elastic scattering at 250 GeV/c, the highest momentum so far reached for positive meson beams. The experiment (NA22) was performed with the european hybrid spectrometer. The π+p elastic cross section stays constant with energy while the K+p cross section increases.  相似文献

A new highly modular and generic Partial Wave Analysis (PWA) software package including a general framework for future hadron spectroscopy experiments like PANDA is currently under development. The aims and present status of the software package are summarized and the first PWA results obtained with the already existing tools are presented. These analyses are mainly focused on important aspects of antiproton proton annihilation processes with relevance for the PANDA experiment. For this purpose Crystal Barrel LEAR data are currently under investigation in order to gain a deeper insight to the production mechanisms of vector mesons. In addition analyses for the identification of resonances in radiative J / ψ decays from BESIII data are summarized.  相似文献

Polarization properties of strange baryons produced in pp reactions, p + p↦p + Λ0 + K+ and p + p↦p + Σ0 + K+, near thresholds of the final states pΛ0K+ and pΣ0K+ are analysed relative to polarizations of colliding protons. The cross-sections for pp reactions are calculated within the effective Lagrangian approach accounting for strong pp rescattering in the initial state of colliding protons with a dominant contribution of the one-pion exchange and strong final-state interaction of daughter hadrons (Eur. Predictions based on axiomatic field theory are obtained from the assumption that the difference between thepp and thep \(\bar p\) elastic scattering observed at the CERN ISR is caused by an “odderon-like” term in the scattering amplitude. A wide class of amplitudes violating the Pomeranchuk relation is considered. Contrary to common opinion, severe restrictions on the high-energy behaviour of the phase of the crossing-odd amplitude are shown to follow for the whole class. Less pronounced but still visible consequences follow for the phases of thepp andp \(\bar p\) amplitudes separately. We derive the corresponding high-energy bounds and correlations using the general frame of analyticity, crossing symmetry and unitarity. As a special case, the maximal odderon amplitude is discussed.  相似文献

The OZI suppressed reactions¯pp and¯pp are reanalyzed, evaluating the unitarity contributions from two meson intermediate states with full spin, partially correcting earlier results. An estimate for¯pp without spin is also given. Together with earlier VDM results for¯pp the conservative estimates reported here easily explain the observed rates for all the meson channels considered.It is a pleasure to thank the following colleagues for numerous discussions: C. The double diffractive J/ψ, hard production processes is discussed. Assuming that Pomeron has parton distributions and dominated by gluons with behavior as 1/x when x is small, the energy dependance of the cross section, for above processes is calculated and compared with both the cross section of single diffractive hard scattering and of Drell-Yan processes . It is shown that the is similar with and increases as (lnS)2 at superhigh energies. It is emphasized that this character may provide a new method for detecting physical particles at energy ranges of SSC.  相似文献

In an experiment at the LISE3 facility of GANIL, we produced the proton-rich isotope 22Al by the fragmentation of a 36Ar primary beam at 95 MeV/nucleon. After implantation in a detector telescope, the decay of 22Al via β-delayed proton emission, β-delayed two-proton emission as well as, for the first time, via β-delayed α emission has been studied. An α peak has been observed at (3.27 ± 0.04) MeV with a branching ratio of (0.31 ± 0.09) %. The comparison of the different decay channels to those of the mirror nucleus 22F and to shell-model calculations favor a 3+ state as being the ground state of 22Al. A half life of T1/2 = (59 ± 3) ms has been measured.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic \(\bar p\) p cross sections at 70 GeV/c have been determined in an experiment performed at CERN using BEBC equipped with a TST. The topological cross sections were measured and the moments of the inelastic multiplicity distribution are 〈n c 〉=6.16±0.09, 〈n c 〉/D=2.04±0.05 andf 2 cc =2.97±0.03. The average number of Dalitz pairs per inelastic event is (3.12±0.09)×10?2. Assuming that these all arise from π0 decay the average π0 multiplicity is \(\langle n_{\pi ^0 } \rangle = 2.71 \pm 0.14\) . The \(\bar p\) p?pp cross section differences lead to an annihilation cross section σ A = 4.42±0.41 mb and the moments of the annihilation multiplicty distribution are 〈n A 〉=8.0±0.3, 〈n A 〉/D=2.5±0.2 andf 2 A?? =?1.4±0.3. An independent check of σ A was made by investigating fast forward charged and neutral secondary interactions in the TST and in the surrounding neon-hydrogen mixture, and gives a value σ A = 5.0±1.6 mb. The ratio of fast \(\bar n\) to \(\bar p\) production in non-annihilation interactions at 70 GeV/c is found to be 0.45±0.11.  相似文献
