In this paper, we show there exists a weak solution to the 3-D inhomogeneous incompressible Navier–Stokes equations satisfying in addition the local energy inequality. The same result in the homogeneous incompressible case was described in [1, Theorem 3.2].  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the local well-posedness of 3-D axi-symmetric Navier–Stokes system with initial data in the critical Lebesgue spaces. We also obtain the global well-posedness result with small initial data. Furthermore, with the initial swirl component of the velocity being sufficiently small in the almost critical spaces, we can still prove the global well-posedness of the system.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the evolution of Lions’s weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Navier–Stokes equations. After proving that the kinetic energy is eventually bounded, we obtain a weakly compact global attractor that all Lions’s weak solutions approach as time tends to infinity. Furthermore, the existence of attracting sets in strong topology is established for short trajectories satisfying an additional compactness condition on the density.  相似文献

We show the existence of time periodic solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations in bounded domains of \mathbb R3{\mathbb R^3} with inhomogeneous boundary conditions in the strong and weak sense. In particular, for weak solutions, we deal with more generalized conditions on the boundary data for Leray’s problem.  相似文献

Under a nonlinear smallness condition on the isotropic critical Besov norm to the fluctuation of the initial density and the critical anisotropic Besov norm of the horizontal components of the initial velocity, which have to be exponentially small compared with the critical anisotropic Besov norm to the third component of the initial velocity, we investigate the global wellposedness of 3-D inhomogeneous incompressible Navier–Stokes equations (1.2) in the critical Besov spaces. The novelty of this results is that the isotropic space structure to the inhomogeneity of the initial density function is consistent with the propagation of anisotropic regularity for the velocity field. In the second part, we apply the same idea to prove the global wellposedness of (1.2) with some large data which are slowly varying in one direction.  相似文献

For the compressible Navier–Stokes equations with viscosity and heat conductivity coefficients possibly depending on the density or temperature, several blowup criteria are given to the local-in-time strong solutions. The proof is based on energy methods together with elliptic and parabolic estimates adopted to the present situation.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global well-posed problem for the three dimensional incompressible anisotropic Navier–Stokes system (ANS) with initial data in the scaling invariant Besov–Sobolev type spaces. We prove that (ANS) has a unique global solution provided that the initial vertical velocity is large while initial horizontal data are sufficiently small compared with the horizontal viscosity. In particular, our result implies the global well-posedness of (ANS) with highly oscillating initial data.  相似文献

We investigate the singularity formation of a 3D model that was recently proposed by Hou and Lei (2009) in [15] for axisymmetric 3D incompressible Navier–Stokes equations with swirl. The main difference between the 3D model of Hou and Lei and the reformulated 3D Navier–Stokes equations is that the convection term is neglected in the 3D model. This model shares many properties of the 3D incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. One of the main results of this paper is that we prove rigorously the finite time singularity formation of the 3D inviscid model for a class of initial boundary value problems with smooth initial data of finite energy. We also prove the global regularity of the 3D inviscid model for a class of small smooth initial data.  相似文献

The velocity–vorticity formulation of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations was recently found to give excellent numerical results for flows with strong rotation. In this work, we propose a new regularization of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations, which we call the 3D velocity–vorticity-Voigt (VVV) model, with a Voigt regularization term added to momentum equation in velocity–vorticity form, but with no regularizing term in the vorticity equation. We prove global well-posedness and regularity of this model under periodic boundary conditions. We prove convergence of the model's velocity and vorticity to their counterparts in the 3D Navier–Stokes equations as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. We prove that the curl of the model's velocity converges to the model vorticity (which is solved for directly), as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. Finally, we provide a criterion for finite-time blow-up of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations based on this inviscid regularization.  相似文献

The Yosida method was introduced in (Quarteroni et al., to appear) for the numerical approximation of the incompressible unsteady Navier–Stokes equations. From the algebraic viewpoint, it can be regarded as an inexact factorization of the matrix arising from the space and time discretization of the problem. However, its differential interpretation resides on an elliptic stabilization of the continuity equation through the Yosida regularization of the Laplacian (see (Brezis, 1983, Ciarlet and Lions, 1991)). The motivation of this method as well as an extensive numerical validation were given in (Quarteroni et al., to appear). In this paper we carry out the analysis of this scheme. In particular, we consider a first-order time advancing unsplit method. In the case of the Stokes problem, we prove unconditional stability and moreover that the splitting error introduced by the Yosida scheme does not affect the overall accuracy of the solution, which remains linear with respect to the time step. Some numerical experiments, for both the Stokes and Navier–Stokes equations, are presented in order to substantiate our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we study vanishing viscosity limit of 1-D isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations with general viscosity to isentropic Euler equations. Firstly, we improve estimates of the entropy flux, then we obtain that the weak solution of the isentropic Euler equations is the inviscid limit of the isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations with general viscosity using the compensated compactness frame recently established by G.-Q. Chen and M. Perepelitsa.  相似文献

We study the blowup phenomena of solutions to the compressible Navier–Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity coefficients in arbitrary dimensions. By constructing a family of self-similar analytical solutions with spherical symmetry, some interesting information including the blowup and expanding properties are shown. In addition, the case of constant viscosity coefficients is also considered. The approach is based on the phase plane method.  相似文献

We study the partial regularity problem of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. A reverse Hölder inequality of velocity gradient with increasing support is obtained under the condition that a scaled functional corresponding the local kinetic energy is uniformly bounded. As an application, we give a new bound for the Hausdorff dimension and the Minkowski dimension of singular set when weak solutions v belong to L(0,T;L3,w(R3)) where L3,w(R3) denotes the standard weak Lebesgue space.  相似文献
