In this paper, we prove the relation v(t)?u(t,x)?w(t), where u(t,x) is the solution of an impulsive parabolic equations under Neumann boundary condition ∂u(t,x)/∂ν=0, and v(t) and w(t) are solutions of two impulsive ordinary equations. We also apply these estimates to investigate the asymptotic behavior of a model in the population dynamics, and it is shown that there exists a unique solution of the model which converges to the periodic solution of an impulsive ordinary equation asymptotically.  相似文献

We introduce a new existence result for compact normal geodesic graphs with constant mean curvature and boundary in a class of warped product spaces. In particular, our result includes that of normal geodesic graphs with constant mean curvature in hyperbolic space over a bounded domain in a totally geodesic .   相似文献

The solution of the weak Neumann problem for the Laplace equation with a distribution as a boundary condition is studied on a general open set G in the Euclidean space. It is shown that the solution of the problem is the sum of a constant and the Newtonian potential corresponding to a distribution with finite energy supported on ∂G. If we look for a solution of the problem in this form we get a bounded linear operator. Under mild assumptions on G a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is given and the solution is constructed. We show that the Neumann problem for Laplace's equation in a convex domain Ω with boundary data in Lp(∂Ω) is uniquely solvable for 1<p<∞. As a consequence, we obtain the Helmholtz decomposition of vector fields in Lp(Ω,Rd).  相似文献

We study the properties of an approximation of the Laplace operator with Neumann boundary conditions using volume penalization. For the one-dimensional Poisson equation we compute explicitly the exact solution of the penalized equation and quantify the penalization error. Numerical simulations using finite differences allow then to assess the discretization and penalization errors. The eigenvalue problem of the penalized Laplace operator with Neumann boundary conditions is also studied. As examples in two space dimensions, we consider a Poisson equation with Neumann boundary conditions in rectangular and circular domains.  相似文献

In this article, two recent proposed compact schemes for the heat conduction problem with Neumann boundary conditions are analyzed. The first difference scheme was proposed by Zhao, Dai, and Niu (Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 23, (2007), 949–959). The unconditional stability and convergence are proved by the energy methods. The convergence order is O2 + h2.5) in a discrete maximum norm. Numerical examples demonstrate that the convergence order of the scheme can not exceeds O2 + h3). An improved compact scheme is presented, by which the approximate values at the boundary points can be obtained directly. The second scheme was given by Liao, Zhu, and Khaliq (Methods Partial Differential Eq 22, (2006), 600–616). The unconditional stability and convergence are also shown. By the way, it is reported how to avoid computing the values at the fictitious points. Some numerical examples are presented to show the theoretical results. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper considers a stochastic control problem in which the dynamic system is a controlled backward stochastic heat equation with Neumann boundary control and boundary noise and the state must coincide with a given random vector at terminal time. Through defining a proper form of the mild solution for the state equation, the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution is given. As a main result, a global maximum principle for our control problem is presented. The main result is also applied to a backward linear-quadratic control problem in which an optimal control is obtained explicitly as a feedback of the solution to a forward–backward stochastic partial differential equation.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper investigates geometric properties and well-posedness of a mean curvature flow with volume-dependent forcing. With the class of forcing which bounds the volume of the evolving set away from zero and infinity, we show that a strong version of star-shapedness is preserved over time. More precisely, it is shown that the flow preserves the ρ-reflection property, which corresponds to a quantitative Lipschitz property of the set with respect to the nearest ball. Based on this property we show that the problem is well-posed and its solutions starting with ρ-reflection property become instantly smooth. Lastly, for a model problem, we will discuss the flow’s exponential convergence to the unique equilibrium in Hausdorff topology. For the analysis, we adopt the approach developed by Feldman-Kim to combine viscosity solutions approach and variational method. The main challenge lies in the lack of comparison principle, which accompanies forcing terms that penalize small volume.  相似文献

In this paper, we will analyze the blow-up behavior of solution sequences satisfying a conformal invariant equation defined on a compact 2-dimensional surface (M,g)(M,g) with boundary. We will provide some accurate point-wise estimates for the profile of these sequences.  相似文献

In this paper, we have developed a fourth-order compact finite difference scheme for solving the convection-diffusion equation with Neumann boundary conditions. Firstly, we apply the compact finite difference scheme of fourth-order to discrete spatial derivatives at the interior points. Then, we present a new compact finite difference scheme for the boundary points, which is also fourth-order accurate. Finally, we use a Padé approximation method for the resulting linear system of ordinary differential equations. The presented scheme has fifth-order accuracy in the time direction and fourth-order accuracy in the space direction. It is shown through analysis that the scheme is unconditionally stable. Numerical results show that the compact finite difference scheme gives an efficient method for solving the convection-diffusion equations with Neumann boundary conditions.  相似文献

Summary We give a complete classification of the small-amplitude finite-gap solutions of the sine-Gordon (SG) equation on an interval under Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. Our classification is based on an analysis of the finite-gap solutions of the boundary problems for the SG equation by means of the Schottky uniformization approach. On leave from IPPI, Moscow, Russia  相似文献

In this article we gain solvability to a nonlinear, second-order difference equation with discrete Neumann boundary conditions. Our methods involve new inequalities on the right-hand side of the difference equation and Schaefer's Theorem in the finite-dimensional space setting.  相似文献

Using the upper and lower solution techniques and Hopf's maximum principle, the sufficient conditions for the existence of blow-up positive solution and global positive solution are obtained for a class of quasilinear parabolic equations subject to Neumann boundary conditions. An upper bound for the ‘blow-up time’, an upper estimate of the ‘blow-up rate’, and an upper estimate of the global solution are also specified.  相似文献

In this article, a set of fourth‐order compact finite difference schemes is developed to solve a heat conduction problem with Neumann boundary conditions. It is derived through the compact difference schemes at all interior points, and the combined compact difference schemes at the boundary points. This set of schemes is proved to be globally solvable and unconditionally stable. Numerical examples are provided to verify the accuracy.© 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
