Order topology and bi-Scott topology on a poset

In this paper, some properties of order topology and bi-Scott topology on a poset are obtained. Order-convergence in posets is further studied. Especially, a sufficient and necessary condition for order-convergence to be topological is given for some kind of posets.     

Distortion Varieties

The distortion varieties of a given projective variety are parametrized by duplicating coordinates and multiplying them with monomials. We study their degrees and defining equations. Exact formulas are obtained for the case of one-parameter distortions. These are based on Chow polytopes and Gröbner bases. Multi-parameter distortions are studied using tropical geometry. The motivation for distortion varieties comes from multi-view geometry in computer vision. Our theory furnishes a new framework for formulating and solving minimal problems for camera models with image distortion.     

Hausdorff graph topology, proximal graph topology and the uniform topology for densely continuous forms and minimal USCO maps

For metric spaces (X, d _x) and (Y, d _y) we consider the Hausdorff metric topology on the set (CL(X × Y), ρ) of closed subsets of the product metrized by the product (box) metric ρ and consider the proximal topology defined on CL(X × Y). These topologies are inherited by the set G(X, Y) of closed-graph multifunctions from X to Y, if we identify each multifunction with its graph. Finally, we consider the topology of uniform convergence τ _uc on the set F(X, 2^Y) of all closed-valued multifunctions, i.e. functions from X to the set (CL(Y),) of closed subsets of Y metrized by the Hausdorff metric . We show the relationship between these topologies on the space G(X, Y) and also on the subspaces of minimal USCO maps and locally bounded densely continuous forms. Graph Laplacians and topology

Laplace operators on metric graphs are considered. It is proven that for compact graphs the spectrum of the Laplace operator determines the total length, the number of connected components, and the Euler characteristic. For a class of non-compact graphs the same characteristics are determined by the scattering data consisting of the scattering matrix and the discrete eigenvalues.     

The finest Nachbin topology is a mixed topology

Let T be a completely regular topological space. We show that the finest Nachbin topology on C(T) is the finest locally convex topology on C(T) that coincides with the compact open topology on the order bounded intervals of C(T).     

Tropical topology

A space-periodic ground state is shown to exist for lattices of point ions in R³ coupled to the Schrödinger and scalar fields. The coupling requires renormalization due to the singularity of the Coulomb self-action. The ground state is constructed by minimizing the renormalized energy per cell. This energy is bounded from below when the charge of each ion is positive. The elementary cell is necessarily neutral.     

L-fuzzifying topology

A new topology in terms of order on fuzzy sets, revealing better the relationship between smooth topology and Chang’s fuzzy topology, is presented in the paper. Some basic properties are discussed.     

Mappings of Finite Distortion: Generalized Hausdorff Dimension Distortion

We study how planar Sobolev homeomorphisms distort sets of Hausdorff dimension strictly less than two. We measure the image size by means of a generalized Hausdorff measure. As an application, we obtain a sharp generalized dimension distortion estimate for mappings of exponentially integrable distortion.     

Soft topology

In this paper, the notions of topology on soft subsets and soft topology have been introduced. Some basic properties of these topologies are studied. Also the definition of continuity of soft mappings in both the topologies is given with their properties studied.     

Topologizable structures and Zariski topology

In this paper we study topologizability of structures. We extend the method of Kotov of topologizability of countable algebras to uncountable structures. We also show that in the case of topologizable relational countable structures the topology can be made metrizable.     

Duality in algebra and topology

We apply ideas from commutative algebra, and Morita theory to algebraic topology using ring spectra. This allows us to prove new duality results in algebra and topology, and to view (1) Poincaré duality for manifolds, (2) Gorenstein duality for commutative rings, (3) Benson–Carlson duality for cohomology rings of finite groups, (4) Poincaré duality for groups and (5) Gross–Hopkins duality in chromatic stable homotopy theory as examples of a single phenomenon.
