Using relative rate techniques the reactions of chlorine and fluorine atoms with HC(O)F have been determined to proceed with rate constants of k1 = (1.9 ± 0.2) × 10−15 and k2 = (8.3 ± 1.7) × 10−13 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, respectively. Stated errors reflect statistical uncertainty; possible systematic uncertainties could add additional 10% and 20% ranges to the values of k1 and k2, respectively. Experiments were performed at 295 ± 2 K and 700 torr total pressure of air. The results are discussed with respect to the design and interpretation of laboratory studies of the atmospheric chemistry of CFC replacements. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Absolute rate constants for the reaction of O(3P) atoms with CH2 = CHF, CH2 = CHCl, and CH2 = CHBr have been obtained at 298 ± 2°K using a modulation phase shift technique. The rate constants (k2 × 10?8 l./mole · sec) obtained are: CH2 = CHF (1.61 ± 0.20), CH2 = CHCl (2.54 ± 0.26), and CH2 = CHBr (2.45 ± 0.25). These rate constants are lower than those determined by discharge flow techniques, but that for CH2 = CHF is in good agreement with relative rate measurements.  相似文献

Using a relative rate technique the reactions of fluorine and chlorine atoms with CF3COOH have been determined to proceed with rate constants of (5.6 ± 0.7) × 10?11 and <1 × 10?17 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, respectively. Quoted errors for the F atom rate constant reflect statistical uncertainty (two standard deviations). Systematic errors could add an additional 20% uncertainty. Experiments were performed at 295 ± 2 K and 700 torr total pressure of nitrogen diluent. The reactions of Cl and F atoms with CF3COOH are of no atmospheric importance. Rainout is believed to be the dominant mechanism by which CF3COOH is removed from the atmosphere. The results from this study are discussed with respect to the design and interpretation of laboratory studies of the atmospheric chemistry of CFC replacements. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The reaction kinetics of chlorine atoms with a series of partially fluorinated straight-chain alcohols, CF(3)CH(2)CH(2)OH (1), CF(3)CF(2)CH(2)OH (2), CHF(2)CF(2)CH(2)OH (3), and CF(3)CHFCF(2)CH(2)OH (4), were studied in the gas phase over the temperature range of 273-363 K by using very low-pressure reactor mass spectrometry. The absolute rate coefficients were given by the expressions (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)): k(1) = (4.42 +/- 0.48) x 10(-11) exp(-255 +/- 20/T); k(1)(303) = (1.90 +/- 0.17) x 10(-11), k(2) = (2.23 +/- 0.31) x 10(-11) exp(-1065 +/- 106/ T); k(2)(303) = (6.78 +/- 0.63) x 10(-13), k(3) = (8.51 +/- 0.62) x 10(-12) exp(-681 +/- 72/T); k(3)(303) = (9.00 +/- 0.82) x 10(-13) and k(4) = (6.18 +/- 0.84) x 10(-12) exp(-736 +/- 42/T); k(4)(303) = (5.36 +/- 0.51) x 10(-13). The quoted 2sigma uncertainties include the systematic errors. All title reactions proceed via a hydrogen atom metathesis mechanism leading to HCl. Moreover, the oxidation of the primarily produced radicals was investigated, and the end products were the corresponding aldehydes (R(F)-CHO; R(F) = -CH(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CF(3), -CF(2)CHF(2), and -CF(2)CHFCF(3)), providing a strong experimental indication that the primary reactions proceed mainly via the abstraction of a methylenic hydrogen adjacent to a hydroxyl group. Finally, the bond strengths and ionization potentials for the title compounds were determined by density functional theory calculations, which also suggest that the alpha-methylenic hydrogen is mainly under abstraction by Cl atoms. The correlation of room-temperature rate coefficients with ionization potentials for a set of 27 molecules, comprising fluorinated C2-C5 ethers and C2-C4 alcohols, is good with an average deviation of a factor of 2, and is given by the expression log(k) (in cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)) = (5.8 +/- 1.4) - (1.56 +/- 0.13) x (ionization potential (in eV)).  相似文献

The hydrogen abstraction reaction of Cl atoms with CF3CH2Cl (HCFC‐133a) is investigated by using density function theory and ab initio approach, and the rate constants are calculated by using the dual‐level direct dynamics method. Optimized geometries and frequencies of reactants, transition state, and products are computed at the B3LYP/6‐311+G(2d,2p) level. To refine the energetic information along the minimum energy path, single‐point energy calculations are carried out at the G3(MP2) level of theory. The interpolated single‐point energy method is employed to correct the energy profiles for the title reaction. The rate constants are evaluated by using the canonical variational transition state theory with a small‐curvature tunneling correction over a wide range of temperature, 200–2000 K. The variational effect for the reaction is moderate at low temperatures and very small at high temperatures. However, the tunneling correction has an important contribution in the lower temperature range. The agreement between calculated rate constants and available experimental values is good at lower temperatures but diverges significantly at higher temperatures.

Previous ab initio studies on reactions involving radical addition to alkenes showed that such reactions are very sensitive to theoretical levels, and thus are difficult to deal with. This motivates us to theoretically reexamine the title reaction thoroughly, which has been studied only at several low levels of theory. In the present work, the geometry optimizations and energy calculations for all species involved in the title reaction were performed at several high levels of theory. The reaction mechanism of the title reaction is discussed at the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVDZ//CCSD/6-31G(d,p) theoretical level. According to our study, the fluorine addition to ethylene occurs via the formation of a prereaction complex with C2v symmetry, which is pointed out for the first time. The prereaction complex evolves into a fluoroethyl radical almost without a barrier, with an exothermicity of 41.49 kcal/mol. The fluoroethyl radical can further decompose into a hydrogen atom and fluoroethylene, with an energy release of 10.33 kcal/mol. Besides the direct departure of the hydrogen atom from the fluoroethyl radical, an indirect decomposition pathway may also be open, which has not been reported before. In addition, the formation of a fluoroethyl radical from a separate fluorine atom and ethylene is described pictorially via the molecular intrinsic characteristic contour (MICC) and the electron density mapped on it. Thereby, strong interpolarization and evident electron transfer between the fluorine atom and ethylene are observed as they approach each other. The transition structure for the fluorine addition to ethylene is clearly shown to be reactant-like. This provides new and intuitional insight into the title reaction.  相似文献

The flash photolysis resonance fluorescence technique has been utilized to determine the rate constants for three reactions involving the hydroxyl radical [OH(2?)] and three halogenated C2 alkanes. The nominal temperature range covered was 250–375 K. The compounds studied and the resulting Arrhenius expressions in units of cm3/molec·sec are The error limits in these expressions are such that they include any possible systematic errors due to the presence of impurities in the halocarbon samples. Tropospheric lifetimes have been calculated for the above species by combining the above rate constant data with global seasonally and diurnally averaged hydroxyl radical concentrations.  相似文献

The relative rate technique has been used to measure rate constants for the reaction of chlorine atoms with nitro methane, nitro ethane, nitro propane, nitro butane, nitro pentane, ethyl nitrate, isopropyl nitrate, n-propyl nitrate, 2-pentyl nitrate, and 2-heptyl nitrate. Decay rates of these organic species were measured relative to one or more of the following reference compounds; n-butane, ethane, chloroethane, and methane. Using rate constants of 2.25 × 10?10 5.7 × 10?11, 8.04 × 10?12, and 1.0 × 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for the reaction of Cl atoms with n-butane, ethane, chloroethane, and methane, respectively, the following rate constants were derived, in units of cm3 molecule?1 s?1: nitro methane, <7 × 10?15; nitro ethane, (2.05 ± 0.14) × 10?13; nitro propane, (1.13 ± 0.05) × 10?11; nitro butane, (5.13 ± 0.68) × 10?11; nitro pentane, (1.40 ± 0.14) × 10?10; ethyl nitrate, (3.70 ± 0.24) × 10?12; n-propyl nitrate, (2.15 ± 0.13) × 10?11; i-propyl nitrate, (3.94 ± 0.48) × 10?12; 2-pentyl nitrate, (1.00 ± 0.06) × 10?10; and 2-heptyl nitrate, (2.84 ± 0.50) × 10?10. Quoted errors represent 2σ and do not include possible systematic errors due to errors in the reference rate constants. Experiments were performed at 295 ± 2 K and atmospheric pressure (?740 torr) of synthetic air. The results are discussed with respect to the previous literature data and to the modeling of these compounds in the atmosphere.  相似文献

Rate constants for the gas‐phase reactions of CH3OCH2CF3 (k1), CH3OCH3 (k2), CH3OCH2CH3 (k3), and CH3CH2OCH2CH3 (k4) with NO3 radicals were determined by means of a relative rate method at 298 K. NO3 radicals were prepared by thermal decomposition of N2O5 in a 700–750 Torr N2O5/NO2/NO3/air gas mixture in a 1‐m3 temperature‐controlled chamber. The measured rate constants at 298 K were k1 = (5.3 ± 0.9) × 10?18, k2 = (1.07 ± 0.10) × 10?16, k3 = (7.81 ± 0.36) × 10?16, and k4 = (2.80 ± 0.10) × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. Potential energy surfaces for the NO3 radical reactions were computationally explored, and the rate constants of k1k5 were calculated according to the transition state theory. The calculated values of rate constants k1k4 were in reasonable agreement with the experimentally determined values. The calculated value of k5 was compared with the estimate (k5 < 5.3 × 10?21 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) derived from the correlation between the rate constants for reactions with NO3 radicals (k1k4) and the corresponding rate constants for reactions with OH radicals. We estimated the tropospheric lifetimes of CH3OCH2CF3 and CHF2CF2OCH2CF3 to be 240 and >2.4 × 105 years, respectively, with respect to reaction with NO3 radicals. The tropospheric lifetimes of these compounds are much shorter with respect to the OH reaction. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 41: 490–497, 2009  相似文献

The rate coefficients for the removal of Cl atoms by reaction with three HCFCs, CF3CHCl2 (HCFC-123), CF3CHFCl (HCFC-124), and CH3CFCl2 (HCFC 141b), were measured as a function of temperature between 276 and 397 K. CH3CF2Cl (HCFC-142b) was studied only at 298 K. The Arrhenius expressions obtained are: k1 = (3.94 ± 0.84)× 10?12 exp[?(1740 ± 100)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for CF3CHCl2 (HCFC 123); k2 = (1.16 ± 0.41) × 10?12 exp[?(1800 ± 150)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for CF3CHFCl (HCFC 124); and k3 = (1.6 ± 1.1) × 10?12 exp[?(1800 ± 500)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 for CH3CFCl2 (HCFC 141b). In case of HCFC 141b, non-Arrhenius behavior was observed at temperatures above ca. 350 K and is attributed to the thermal decomposition of CH2CFCl2 product into Cl + CH2CFCl. In case of HCFC-142b, only an upper limit for the 298 K value of the rate coefficient was obtained. The atmospheric significance of these results are discussed. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Collisional deactivation of I(2P1/2) by the title compounds was investigated through the use of the time-resolved atomic absorption of excited iodine atoms at 206.2 nm. Rate constants for atomic spin-orbit relaxation by CH3Cl, CH2Cl2, CHCl3, CCl3F, and CCl4 are 3.1±0.3×10−13, 1.28±0.08×10−13, 5.7±0.3×10−14, 3.9±0.4×10−15, and 2.3±0.3×10−15cm3 molecule−1 s−1, respectively, at room temperature (298 K). The higher efficiency observed for relaxation by CH3Cl, CH2Cl2, and CHCl3 reveals a contribution in the deactivation process of the first overtone corresponding to the C(SINGLEBOND)H stretching of the deactivating molecule (which lies close to 7603 cm−1) as well as the number of the contributing modes and certain molecular properties such as the dipole moment. It is believed that, for these molecules, a quasi-resonant (E-v,r,t) energy transfer mechanism operates. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 30: 799–803, 1998  相似文献

The CO_2 laser induced room temperature reactions of CH_3CF_2H or another protium-donorCH_3CHClCH_3 with chlorine-atom donors (Z--Cl) CFCl_2CF_2Cl, CF_3CCl_3, CFCl_3 or CF_2Cl_2, havebeen investigated. Some of these reactions can yield two important monomers (CF_2=CH_2 andCF_2=CFCl) for fluoropolymers simultaneously. The yield dependence of these two alkenes on experi-mental conditions has been studied. A laser-initiated chain process is supported by identifica-tion of Z--H intermediates in these reactions.  相似文献

Reactions of CF3Br with H atoms and OH radicals have been studied at room temperature at 1–2 torr pressures in a discharge flow reactor coupled to an EPR spectrometer. The rate constant of the reaction H + CF3Br → CF3 + HBr (1) was found to be k1 = (3.27 ± 0.34) × 10?14 cm3/molec·sec. For the reaction of OH with CF3Br (8) an upper limit of 1 × 10?15 cm3/molec·sec was determined for k8. When H atoms were in excess compared to NO2, used to produce OH radicals, a noticeable reactivity of OH was observed as a result of the reaction OH + HBr → H2O + Br, HBr being produced from reaction (1).  相似文献

The intermolecular interaction energy curves of CH(3)OCH(3)-CH(2)F(2), CF(3)OCH(3)-CH(2)F(2), CF(3)OCF(3)-CH(2)F(2), CH(3)OCH(3)-CHF(3), CF(3)OCH(3)-CHF(3), and CF(3)OCF(3)-CHF(3) complexes were calculated by the MP2 level ab initio molecular orbital method using the 6-311G** basis set augmented with diffuse polarization functions. We investigate the fluorine substitution effects of both methane and dimethyl ether on intermolecular interactions. In addition, orientation dependence of intermolecular interaction energies is also studied with utilizing eight types of orientations. Our analyses demonstrate that partial fluorinations of methane make electrostatic interaction dominant, and consequently enhance attractive interaction at several specific orientations. On the contrary, fluorine substitutions of dimethyl ether substantially decrease the electrostatic interaction between ether and CH(2)F(2) or CHF(3); thus, there is no such characteristic interaction between the C-H of fluorinated methane and ether oxygen of CF(3)OCF(3) as conventional hydrogen bonding, due to reduced polarity of fluorinated ether. The combination of different pairs of the electrostatic interaction is therefore responsible for the intermolecular interaction differences among the complexes investigated herein and also their orientations.  相似文献

The kinetics of the gas-phase reaction of Cl atoms with CF3I have been studied relative to the reaction of Cl atoms with CH4 over the temperature range 271–363 K. Using k(Cl + CH4) = 9.6 × 10?12 exp(?2680/RT) cm3 molecule?1 s?1, we derive k(Cl + CF3I) = 6.25 × 10?11 exp(?2970/RT) in which Ea has units of cal mol?1. CF3 radicals are produced from the reaction of Cl with CF3I in a yield which was indistinguishable from 100%. Other relative rate constant ratios measured at 296 K during these experiments were k(Cl + C2F5I)/k(Cl + CF3I) = 11.0 ± 0.6 and k(Cl + C2F5I)/k(Cl + C2H5Cl) = 0.49 ± 0.02. The reaction of CF3 radicals with Cl2 was studied relative to that with O2 at pressures from 4 to 700 torr of N2 diluent. By using the published absolute rate constants for k(CF3 + O2) at 1–10 torr to calibrate the pressure dependence of these relative rate constants, values of the low- and high-pressure limiting rate constants have been determined at 296 K using a Troe expression: k0(CF3 + O2) = (4.8 ± 1.2) × 10?29 cm6 molecule?2 s?1; k(CF3 + O2) = (3.95 ± 0.25) × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1; Fc = 0.46. The value of the rate constant k(CF3 + Cl2) was determined to be (3.5 ± 0.4) × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at 296 K. The reaction of Cl atoms with CF3I is a convenient way to prepare CF3 radicals for laboratory study. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Rate constants were determined for the reactions of OH radicals with the hydrofluoroethers (HFEs) CH2FCF2OCHF2(k1), CHF2CF2OCH2CF3 (k2), CF3CHFCF2OCH2CF3(k3), and CF3CHFCF2OCH2CF2CHF2(k4) by using a relative rate method. OH radicals were prepared by photolysis of ozone at UV wavelengths (>260 nm) in 100 Torr of a HFE–reference–H2O–O3–O2–He gas mixture in a 1‐m3 temperature‐controlled chamber. By using CH4, CH3CCl3, CHF2Cl, and CF3CF2CF2OCH3 as the reference compounds, reaction rate constants of OH radicals of k1 = (1.68) × 10?12 exp[(?1710 ± 140)/T], k2 = (1.36) × 10?12 exp[(?1470 ± 90)/T], k3 = (1.67) × 10?12 exp[(?1560 ± 140)/T], and k4 = (2.39) × 10?12 exp[(?1560 ± 110)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 were obtained at 268–308 K. The errors reported are ± 2 SD, and represent precision only. We estimate that the potential systematic errors associated with uncertainties in the reference rate constants add a further 10% uncertainty to the values of k1k4. The results are discussed in relation to the predictions of Atkinson's structure–activity relationship model. The dominant tropospheric loss process for the HFEs studied here is considered to be by the reaction with the OH radicals, with atmospheric lifetimes of 11.5, 5.9, 6.7, and 4.7 years calculated for CH2FCF2OCHF2, CHF2CF2OCH2CF3, CF3CHFCF2OCH2CF3, and CF3CHFCF2OCH2CF2CHF2, respectively, by scaling from the lifetime of CH3CCl3. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The hydrogenation of (CF3)nGeX4-n (X = halogen, n = 1–3) with NaBH4 in an acidic medium has been investigated. Deuteration with NaBD4 and D3PO4 gave the partially deuterated species CF3GeHnD3-n and (CF3)2GeHnD2-n in reasonable isotopic purity. The (CF3)2GeHBr was isolated and converted into the halides (CF3)2GeHX (X = F, Cl, I) by treatment with AgX or HX. Insertion of CF2 into a GeH bond has been observed, and (CF3)(CF2H)GeH2 has been characterized. Direct alkylation of GeH bonds was brought about by reaction with a mixture of RI and R′2Zn (R, R′= CH3, C2H5), and the methyl(trif]uoromethyl)germanes CF3GeH2(CH3), CF3GeH(CH3)2 and (CF3)2GeH(CH3) were isolated. For R = CD3, R′ = CH3 the product distribution can be accounted in terms of two competing mechanisms.  相似文献
